To be fair, stacked slowdowns are a problem on any killer. Imho that is a stacked slowdowns problems, not a nurse problem
I'm not sure how this new Jenner's and Campbell's last breath will be, especially with buffed torn bookmark, but if it wasn't for them I'd say nurse is finally in a good spot
Yes, stacked Slowdowns are a problem on any Killer. But Nurse multiplies the issue. There is a huge difference between Perks on a weaker Killer like Trapper or Myers and Perks on strong Killers like Nurse or Blight.
And I feel that it will be impossible to somewhat properly balance the game as long as there is such a big difference between the Killers. Sure, you will never reach a point where a Trapper is on the same Powerlevel as Nurse, but it makes it harder to balance Perks that Killers exist, which are stronger than most other Killers.
(Otzdarva said in a recent video that if every Killer is at max at the Level of Wesker when it comes to strength (or around the level of Wesker) that it would be really good. And I would agree on that)

A killer forcing a 3 gen is risky when there are 4 players. They give up every other gen and even a tight 3 gen can be broken, 4 v1 is pretty steep odds. Admittedly if they are running decent regression then it can be extremely hard.
And yh 3 gens in solo q are awful, it's why I nearly never play solo q. And I've been suggesting all sorts of buffs to exclusively help solo q. Yesterday's update helps a bit but solo q still needs more love particularly at low mmr.
Most Killers run "decent regression". And 3-Gens are pretty easy nowadays, RPD spawned with constant 3-Gens after the Rework, Haddonfield does that as well. After the Rework, Eyrie also seems to have bigger 3-Gen-Potential.
And well, what does it matter to the Killer if they give up "every other Gen"? The Survivors dont win when they do 4 Gens. There is 0 difference for the outcome of the Match if the Survivors do 4 Gens or 0 Gens.

@HoodedWildKard said:
It's about the order you do them in. Me and my swf always go for lower centre first after someone baits the killer into chase. It's the most dangerous gen because it's so central and visible but the most vital to get done early.
The problem is when survs spawn, It's always near one of the outlying gens. And more often than not people jump straight on the gen in front of them.
If you do the outside gens first on rpd, as far as killer is concerned a whole swathe of the map becomes dead space and they won't go there.
But if you get the 2 central gens done first then you split the map and killer has to haul ass to get between the gen clusters. Then you're laughing all the way to the exit gate.
Survivors dont have control over which 3 Gens the Killer wants to defend. I mean, sure, if your SWF manages to do that (not everyone plays in SWF) AND the Killer is dumb enough to leave the Gens which are easy to defend, yeah, you can pull it off.
But if the Killer wants to stay in their 3-Gen, there is nothing the Survivors can do. You can leave every other Gen on 99%, but this does not change the fact that at some point you have to repair one of the Gens in the 3-Gen. Especially, because a 3-Gen is basically guaranteed to spawn on RPD, often enough it is even a 4-Gen.
-
Sabo has to be weak, because Hooking is such a base game mechanic. (Wish this would go for both sides tho, looking at you, Eruption...)
But it should never be oppressive that Hooks can be sabotaged. This is why they made it more accessible a few years ago (before it took longer and progress did not regress, so you were able to 99-sabo a Hook and break it instantly, which was also hard to pull off, but ineffective as well), but it stayed weak. You just dont want a game where the Survivors can make it that the Killer just cannot hook people.
So yeah, while weak, I think sabo is in a good spot currently.
-
Oh man. The Gen-placement on RPD was already really bad, because the Killer almost always has two Gens in the Main Hall and at least one Gen nearby, so a very easy 3-Gen potential.
And it got even easier now. Maybe next time stack 3 Gens on top of each other? I mean, we dont want the Killers to be too tired from holding W to move around their 3 Gen...

she didn't need a nerf, she needed a complete rework...
Obviously. Nurse cannot be nerfed because the result would either be that she is still too strong (like it happened two times now) or too weak (which should also not be the goal). Making her M1s be special attacks and nerfing her best Add Ons is surely a step in the right direction, but a stacking Slowdown-Nurse is equally as bad, because she is still breaking the game with her power. And strong Perk Combinations which are good on any Killer (except if they require a lot of M1s) will always be stronger on Nurse. So unless BHVR plans to nerf every Slowdown-Perk AND make every Perk, which is not triggered by an M1-Attack really weak, making her M1s cound as special attacks will be a right step, but too little too late. And I cannot really see them to balance every strong Perk in a way that Nurse cannot use it.
@VikingDragonXii said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3326652#Comment_3326652
Mandy already said they would never to a complete rework of her because the time it would take to come up with a new power, test it out, put it on the PTB, and then work it out more would be better used elsewhere
And this is sad. Instead BHVR spends time to release 4 chapters each year instead of slowing down on that side, which gives us forgettable Killers like The Knight or Sadako. They really should go to 3 Chapters each year and take their time to work on other things like Perk Nerfs and Buffs, general gameplay improvements and balance changes (which would include balancing the Nurse to a fun and strong Killer, but not in its current broken state).
@littlepaw said:
i mean it's not like they ever had any intent of making nurse obsolete. a nerf to her is still a nerf, hopefully that means less nurse players i guess
Sure, she will be played less. Some players really relied too much on her broken Add Ons (e.g. a Streamer I know (know, not watch) was a Nurse Main, 13k hours and said that they wont play the Nurse ever again and only for donations... That person was using her with all the strongest Perks and Add Ons all the time). And others will just not play with her, because they think she got "ruined". So we will have a few weeks with less Nurse-players, but once people realize that she is fine and still very strong, we will be back to square one.

Sadly it does not fix bad teammates. I can be camped in Basement, one Survivor is doing Gens, the other two are trying to get me out against a Trapper who is a) camping me and b) trapped the ######### out of Shack. The only thing the symbols did is to show the Survivor on the Gen that one or two of them are chased. Game was obviously lost (would have been won if those two brightbulbs would have done a Gen).
So yeah, it is more of a QoL-Change. At best, sometimes it is more frustrating when you see people doing nothing or just blessing/cleansing Totems all the time.
But, I remember "GuEsS ThErE WiLl bE MoRe tUnNeLiNg" because some people like to pretend that it is an actual impactful change.

Can confirm.
Also affects "Snap Out of it".

It's going to make even mediocre survivors far more efficient.
Nah. Who nowadays wastes their time by cleansing totems or looting chests (or even blessing Boons IMO) will not start doing Gens because they notice nobody else is doing anything (if they even notice).
-
Holding W is in general quite a boring way of playing, this goes for both sides. Everyone can just hold W.
However, the complaints about it are a bit too much IMO. More and more Killers come into the game with some form of Anti-Loop. And if someone plays Killers like Artist or (in this case) Nemesis, they really should not complain about holding W, because after all, it is the most effective counter against those Killers and looping is rather weak.
-
This would not really do anything. There is Any Means Necessary, but it is bad. And it would still be bad if you would reduce the Cooldown.
If picking up Pallets would be a base ability, it would still not matter. Any Pallet which is at least somewhat good will be kicked. The only Pallets which might not be kicked are those which are completely useless and it would not matter if those are picked up or not.
IMO the goal overall would be - WAY more Pallets, WAY less safe ones, WAY more unsafe ones. And removal of Bloodlust of course. This would make the game more enjoyable on both sides since unsafe Pallets can be played by both Killer and Survivor and since Bloodlust is removed, they would actually be fair and the better player wins. More unsafe Pallets in favor of less safe ones would also mean that Killers would not need to kick that many Pallets in a chase, which again, would mean that they would still be able to get hits in, if they outplay the Survivor.
Also, this would reward good Survivor gameplay - a bad Survivor will probably not last that long on an unsafe Pallet, but a good one will last longer. Furthermore, more unsafe Pallets and less safe ones means that the Survivors will not run out of Pallets quickly. So even if a bad Survivor is throwing Pallets immediatly, they wont use up all the ressources.
But, this would only work if they actually remove Bloodlust and given the fact, that they buffed it quite recently, not gonna happen that the gameplay will be changed like that.
(And I expect a lot of Killer Mains now coming at me because I wrote "more Pallets" and "Bloodlust removed", since this is the only thing they will read..)

Here's a fix, don't let them play. 150+ ping? Play something else.
Not really.
The game was Peer 2 Peer before and you cannot just prevent people from playing, just because they use Amazon Game Servers which are not available in some regions of the planet.
Would also be bad with new players. "Oh, you live in X? No Servers around? Sadly you wont be able to play this game!".

I see this question alot on here. Since Anonymous Mode came out it seems the part about no longer requiring Steam IDs to report hasn't really reached everyone, so long as the other steps are taken.
Any ideas on how to better advertise the reporting system. I'm willing to bet many legit cheaters & hackers haven't been reported when peeps see the Anonymous Mode in use.
The community does seem to rejoice when the numbers of those properly banned are shown.
IMO this does not only apply to Anonymous-Mode that people dont really bother reporting. The general process of Reporting is just way too much effort. Not everyone wants to record a game with OBS or similar software. And then all the things you need to fill out while reporting a Ticket, all while NOT forgetting to report ingame.
I know that BHVR bans people. I have seen Hackers who I reported being banned. Sometimes even without ingame-Report (e.g. a Legacy-Hacker I reported got banned, I dodged the Lobby (because they were clearly a Hacker), so no ingame-Report, still they got banned).
But sometimes I also felt that it was not worth my time to report someone, not because they wont get banned, but because it is just so annoying to do everything for a successful report.

I mean yea, I have well over 3000 hours on Nurse. But you’re right, I should trust the person that plays her every once in awhile.
Oh, I play her often enough. She is my go-to Killer for BPs, because I dont need Add Ons on her (so 0 investment). But yeah, not 3000 hours, she is too boring for me.
-
You report them ingame. This flags the game for BHVR.
When doing the Support Ticket, just dont fill out the respective field for the ID. They will be able to find the game due to your information.
-
I dont think that this can be fixed. You will encounter players who have high Ping, because there are not that many Servers. So some players will have to connect to a Server further away, which results in high Ping.
-
As others have said, Shadowborn is a good recommendation. I struggled with Billy after they changed his FoV, but Shadowborn helps a lot with it. Sure, you will be running a Perk which does "nothing", but I can assure you, Shadowborn on Billy is important.
For other Perks, currently I am using BBQ, Lethal Pursuer, Shadowborn obviously and Enduring. Enduring is new, before I used Infectious Fright.
Add On-wise I go for Engravings and Junkyard Air Filter (the brown Add On which increases the Overheat-Limit, it is the best Add On against Overheat, better than the other Filters which have higher rarity).
When it comes to M1s, go for it if you think you wont get a Chainsaw. Sometimes you really cannot use it that much, especially when some weird collision is at a Loop (e.g. bushes or tiny branches which stick out), because you will get stuck on them. Dont be a M1lly, but dont try to go for Chainsaws which you will just not get. If you dont care about winning tho, just go for them, maybe you will not hit many Chainsaws, but at least you improve.
In general, if you dont tunnel or camp as Billy, you will have quite relaxed games and Endgame Chats from my experience. Billy is a Killer most dont really mind to go against, even if he is strong. If you tunnel or camp however, it seems like people are extra annoyed because when they go against a Billy (who is rare) and they play like #########, it is not really enjoyable.
-
It is usually worth a good laugh because often enough, people will not say why they accuse you of hacking. Just "You know why". Or they will just keep going despite being debunked quite fast.
E.g. yesterday I downed a Nea with Knight (first the guard, then myself). She DCed. I let the other 3 Survivors farm, because they were not really good and I felt bad for them. That Nea waited for 15 minutes, just to tell me that I got reported for "You know why". She did not really tell me tho... Told me that my private profile was suspicious, so I made it public, and then she said my profile is not legit. Half an hour later she added me (I accepted, because it was funny) and just told me that I should not accept strangers on Steam. I dont know, she is either a evil Hackerman or, more likely, forgot some "evidence" for her report (according to her, she stayed in the game in the first place for more "evidence"). Poor Support-guy who will waste time on reading her report...
Another example was a Spirit, claiming I was a Hacker because I did not make any injured-Sounds AND had Endurance TWICE, even long after the Unhook. Pointing her to Off the Record did not help... But I have the suspicion that in this case the player was just unable to accept that they were wrong and just kept going.
But yeah, overall, getting called a Hacker while playing absolutely legit is funny. And sometimes sad when you see that the player accusing you has quite a bunch of hours (e.g. that Nea had 1400...).
-
What is the point of this thread? No action in this game needs to be justified. Play how you like, but dont expect others to like it.

Nurse isn’t broken.
She surely is - if someone is not completely biased. A design failure that is allowed far too long in this game.
The next weeks might be alright, because it might happen that not many players will play her anymore (because she is "ruined"), but afterwards, it will all happen again because BHVR only does some half-assed Nerfs to her.
But I dont need to tell you that she is broken.

i’ve had countless end game chats that complained i was patrolling gens near a hook; the implication being that I should teleport across the map “because Nurse”. It’s a common complaint. You obviously don’t know that since you don’t use Nurse.
Oh, I play her. And she has the best Map PRESSURE. But not the best Map mobility.
But yeah, you had "countless end game chats". Or just another sad try to pretend that Nurse is not broken.

Do you really need a noose on an Icon enjoy this game?
Or, which is more likely, do you really need to complain for the sake of complaining?
-
The Timer is not the issue. 60 seconds is a decent time IMO. The problem is the stun time, 3 seconds of stun mean that the actual amount of distance gained is just around 1,7 seconds, since 1,3 seconds are used for the animation. So the actual distance a Survivors gets is around 7 meters. This makes it really restrictive to get use out of it. And a 80 second timer would not change that.
DS has become a mild inconvenience and nothing which needs to be avoided anymore. Before with 5 seconds, the Killer would still tunnel, but at least they got punished more for it. Now it does not really do much and this is the main issue.
IMO DS was in a perfect spot after it was deactivated once all Gens were done. If anything, they could have thought about things to make its Anti-Tunnel capacity better. But reducing the stun to 3 seconds was really not the best idea.
-
I dont know, the Survivor-Meta is more diverse. Sure, it is still a Meta and a Meta means that some Perks are more popular than others, but I see quite a mix in Loadouts. But overall, you will always have "second chance"-Perks, since those are good and honestly needed (if you make yourself easy to catch and hook, you will go down quickly and the game is an early 3v1 aka a win for the Killer).
Killer on the other hand did not change much. Meta is still as much Slowdown as possible, nobody tries to run builds which work with the power of the Killer, because it is always more beneficial to run the same 4 Perks on every Killer. Sure, the Perks changed, but the overall type of those is the same.
But I agree, it is worrying that they did not address Perks like Erupion and that we are most likely stuck with them for at least another 3 months.

I would not say it is harder to use. I would say it is more annoying to use. Nothing in DBD is really hard.

You are not asking for a Fix, you are asking for a Buff. Buffs or Nerfs are no "Fixes".
While her Dash and Stealth need some love, her Traps really should not be too oppressive. They are there to waste time. Not to give consistent kills.
- Agreed.
- Depends on the Numbers, but in general, agreed.
- Agreed.
- Agreed.
- Agreed.
- Nope. The Devs changed this for a reason. They changed it, because they wanted Traps to be used during the game and not during Endgame.
- Nope. Really bad idea. You want people to do Boxes instead of Gens. (Scorpionz, who is a very good Pig-Player explained it in at least one video, cannot find it tho)
- Agreed. But also Nerfs, Tampered Timer should not exist. Also Exhaustion should not be a thing on Traps. Or basically anything which promoves tunneling the trapped Survivor.
- Nah. As said above, Traps should not be too oppressive. Not being able to see the Boxes the whole time would just be overkill. Especially because she has a Blindness Add On.

It is higher risk than most Exhaustion-Perks.

It does not and is a pretty pointless Perk on her. But I have never seen it on Nurse to be honest. Sometimes I see Nurse-players using Unrelenting (but also almost never), which is equally pointless.

Yeah. That's the game. Not all answers to things need to be perfect ironclad "counters" that work 100% of the time.
Or, someone can just accept that Incapacitated is a really bad status effect and should not exist like this on a Perk like Eruption.
One hit of Eruption is basically half a Gen added. Considering how often it can activate, it is quite easy to see that it is completely overtuned.

Yeah, I think you are correct on this one.

You are the only constant factor in your games. If almost every game is over pretty fast, then it is most likely on you. Pretending you go against strong SWFs all the time does not really change this fact.
-
@Deathstroke said:

Well safety pip should be at least made lot easier you can depip as killer while you get 4K and still depip even if you escape as survivor...
You can honestly only Depip with a 4K when you are killing all 4 Survivors with a Tombstone as Myers. Other than that, I have never seen a 4K with a Depip.
On the other hand, as Survivor, you basically have to escape to have a chance for a Pip at Iri Grade and often enough, not escaping means that you Depip.
Furthermore, Pipping will be easier as Killer with the upcoming Patch. This includes safety pipping, you will only need a 1K to Safety pip.
-
Flashlights are as counterable as before.
-
Yeah, Depips should not be a thing anymore.
-
I would agree to any point except for point 2.
Reasoning:
- Yeah, I think at least Hook Grabs on healthy Survivors should be removed. Currently unhooking is a lose/lose-Situation for the Survivor if the Killer is camping, because they wont get the unhook and are just forced to stay there and let the other player reach second stage and THEN the Killer might hit them. Even without a Hook-Grab, the Killer will get a trade, so it should still be fine.
- I think it should be kept. And this is coming from someone who never gets the 4% when needed (like everyone is slugged and I was just put on the Hook and stuff like that) and only when they want to be out of the match (3v1 against Nurse with 5 Gens...aaand I am off the Hook). It is nice to have that little bit of Hope. Also, removing it would not force players to participate in the game. They can just go afk. Or, eat the DC-penalty when they REALLY dont want to keep playing.
- Agreed. On both sides, Offerings can be removed. E.g. Mist-Offerings, you may want to keep the purple one for Survivors and the one that lessens the Mist on Killer, but they can be removed as well, because their impact is nearly non-existent. I also think that especially the Survivor-Bloodweb needs to be decluttered, there are 3 times as many Items in it compared to Killer. And some are just useless - like, you wont take anything except for Batteries or Low-Amp Filament on Flashlights. Or green Maps should not exist alongside their Add-Ons to make them useful, when Red Maps are already not used at all. Or why is there a Key Add On to see Survivors 24m away, when there is one which lets them see for 48m?
- Yeah, No Mither at this point is pointless. I used to bring it for some time due to the extra Challenge, but now there is not really anything rewarding (like back in the day reaching Rank 1 with No Mither felt more rewarding than reaching Grade 1 nowadays). But nowadays you cannot really afford to take this Perk because the game is way more difficult for Survivors. And luckily most players agree, the only ones using it are poor Adept-Davids. And for this use, this Perk really does not need to exist in this state.
- Fully agreed. One of the most frustrating Perks to go against and one of the most pointless ones to use, depending on your role and group size.
-
I almost never see Shrouds on either side. Mostly, because they are bad to burn for both sides.
-
BBQ did not do anything against tunneling. As long as the Killer can tunnel out one Survivor and afterwards is still able to get full 4 Stacks, it does nothing against tunneling.
I think it is fine that the stacks are gone. Does not give the feeling of having to run a Perk which might not even be good on the Killer.
-
People want Daddy Felix and are unhappy when they get Dad Bod Felix?
tsss.
-
Trading for BP should be a hard No. Many players have so many Add Ons or Offerings they never use, it would just bring too many BPs into the game at once.
However, having a crafting feature... This would be neat. Like combininig 10 brown Add Ons/Offerings into 1 brown Add On/Offering you would like to have. Same with any other rarity. 10/1 (or something similar) would also be quite a high ratio so that we dont end up with Spirits suddenly having way more MDRs than before or stuff like that.

Thennn whyyy did you Nerf it ? Survivors are redundant
PGTW was one of those Perks which got nerfed to remove them from the Meta. Some Perks just got hit harder than necessary to make them really bad so that nobody plays them. IMO this applies to PGTW, Ruin, DS and Iron Will. All of them were either fine (DS and PGTW) or would have been ok with one of the Nerfs (Ruin and Iron Will).
However, with the current Meta, I am quite happy that we dont have PGTW on top of Eruption and CoB. But I would happily have back PGTW pre-nerf if Eruption is nerfed into the ground.

"It's not fun for the other side" cannot be a game design argument.
It sucks because you are losing. Very few games are fun to lose.
Bad argument.
I dont mind losing. But I mind lying around for 4 minutes, because the Killer really needs to push their ego for a 4K, when they won anyway. A 3K with potential Hatch Escape is still a win. (Especially since the Killer has the advantage in finding the Hatch)
So when I am losing, I dont mind, but I would like to move on and go into the next game.

Every 3gen is made possible by the survs. Every, single, time.
This is so wrong.
The Survivors dont have that much control about a 3-Gen. If the Killer decides to pick a 3-Gen from the start (which is sometimes really easy to defend, e.g. Dead Dawg Saloon or Haddonfield), there is nothing the Survivors can do. Sure, you can say that they can 99 Gens outside of the 3-Gen, but this does not change the fact that you cannot repair the 3-Gens the Killer decides to protect.

It's pretty unacceptable that BHVR hasn't adjusted Eruption at this point. How hard is it to acknowledge that it's unhealthy and disable it until a solution is found? At no point since last July have they had time to revisit a single perk?
The sad thing is, it will not be disabled, because it is working as intended. Them being unable to playtest it properly and releasing it in that state is sadly not a reason to disable it (at least for them).
(Like, for real, I am really curious how they playtested Eruption to get it to live in this state. They probably did around 3 games testing the Perk, thought it was good and kinda forgot that it hurts Solos more than SWF (while still being good against SWF) and that there is a difference between dealing with it 3 games or basically every game you play)
-
Prove Thyself is not even that good as a Perk. Most people use it for the BPs anyway, if there would be no BP-Bonus, the number of Prove Thyself-Users would drop a lot.
And it does not even matter if you use Toolboxes or not. With or without Toolbox, it is always better to split up without Prove Thyself than doing the same Gen with Prove Thyself. Having a Toolbox with or without BNP does not change that.
But I am also very sure that some people just dont understand what the Perk actually does and only see "Muh, Gens faster?!"...
-
Nah.
-
Yeah, even if this is more an issue on Blight than Spirit.
For Spirit, IMO nerfing Mother Daughter Ring (should have been done long ago) and Dried Cherry Blossom is enough. I dont really understand how they thought that Dried Cherry Blossom was a good idea, if you are using this Add On, the game basically plays for you. And it is even more of a Joke if you think that MDR and Dried Cherry Blossom have the same Downside, which gets negated by the very strong effect of Cherry Blossom.
Regarding Blight, I think his Add Ons are just a big Joke. I just cannot understand how they do ANY Add On Nerf, but keep Alchemists Ring like it is. And I remember when they announced that some Killers will get Add On-Changes and everyone was running Alchemist Ring, because everyone knows that this Add On is just broken. Turns out, they buffed Adrenaline Vial from his worst Add On to one of the best, also broken.
IMO, those should be nerfed: Alchemist Ring, Adrenaline Vial, Compund 33, Blighted Crow, Blighted Rat.
IMO Blight is one Killer who really does not need Add Ons. Especially not some that are so strong.

TIL patrolling a 3 Gen is the Killer's fault and the Killer could be banned for it, according to Survivor mains.
What is the Killer supposed to do? Run to the strong pallets/the area without hooks/away from the gens? Just hand over the gens to Survivors?
Why is it not Survivors faults if they refuse to try doing gens? Oh, right, because nothing is Survivor's faults if they can use mental or verbal gymnastics to blame Killers.
So remember, Killers; if a 3 gen happens; You need to close your eyes and let Survivors go, because it's your fault and YOU can be reported! 😂
@Peanits Since Pulsar is quoting you so much to make their point; can you weigh in? Does the Killer have to stop patrolling a 3 gen? Can a Killer be reported and banned if they don't let Survivors do a gen?
If so: Why can't the Survivors be reported for not trying to do gens?
Nonsense.
"What is the Killer supposed to do? Run to the strong pallets/the area without hooks/away from the gens? Just hand over the gens to Survivors?"
The Killer is supposed to progress the game.
"Why is it not Survivors faults if they refuse to try doing gens? Oh, right, because nothing is Survivor's faults if they can use mental or verbal gymnastics to blame Killers."
It is their fault and it is reportable. But if they try to do it, but the Killer just chases them away without any intention to commit to a chase, the fault lies with the Killer.
