I guarantee it does.
Tell me something, how are you using flashbangs effectively? I've tried them several times and don't seem to have luck with them. I was thinking I could hit a Killer with a flashbang at the end of a Sprint Burst but the timing doesn't seem right.
The timing is tricky, generally I'll do one of three things.
1. Drop a pallet, wait until the killer starts kicking it, then drop the grenade and run.
2. Drop it right on a downed Survivor. Start the heal before we're all blinded.
3. Pop out of the locker, drop the bomb, jump back in.
There's other times to, I find a 3 count helps zero in on the timing.

It's refreshing to see such honesty. Been years since I saw someone just admit that they fully believe everyone who disagrees with them is maining the other side, really brings me back, lol.

Tbf every game has competition even if they arent the same type of game. There certainly is alot of games coming out that will draw my attention away from DBD for sure.
However if we're talking 4v1 games that might take people away I'm certainly interested In evil dead game after playing the beta, will have to wait and see but atm DBD has issues keeping me on it and that's as both roles
The evil dead game looks fun as hell, how was the beta?

Well, if I’m not incorrect, in the next patch for survs you will find... only nerfs
Oh no! A single patch out of the 24 per year doesn't have anything good for survivors? The horror! Why it's almost like they're not just trying to arbitrarily give both sides the same amount of buffs and nerfs each time and are actually focused on balancing issues in the game. How could they?
Congratulations, you have managed to find the DbD equivalent to "it's snowing so therefore climate change isn't real" though I appreciate that you don't even try to defend your nonsense and just jump to the next gimmick in the box as soon as it's pointed out that you are being ridiculous.

Killers complaint about snowmen, don’t you remember?
You mean that bit of seasonal fun where survivors got to hop in a snowman and meme around and have fun while getting extra protection before they were injured and killers got to... Not do that? Yeah, can't imagine why they would contain about such a thing. Frankly I think if they had done anything for killers, even something like snowballs that they could throw would have made it a lot more fun for everyone.

And while wow is definitely past its glory days I am excited to see what direction it will take under the new leadership of Microsoft I think it can't get worse then under Activision
Hopefully they'll do the smart thing and make WoW 2. At this point the original is so bloated with expansions, half finished ideas and stuff that was done but then half taken out later that I think the best move is to start over fresh

I also think that CoH sees a lot more play at high levels of play and at higher levels of play, there's less people.
Another reason I wish DbD would release stats, because I'd love to see the kill rates of the Nurse at High, Mid and Low levels of play.
You know what data I really want?
I have a theory that most of the "meta" is just bullshit made up by streamers, and unquestioningly picked up by their fans. To see if I'm right, I want to see the perk usage specifically after a video is made about it. So if Otz or Scott or whoever makes a video talking about a perk, does usage jump up?

Honestly NOED is only annoying when the killer has played like trash gets a down right beside the totem and forces a 1k because of it. I don't personally think it needs to change and for the love of all that is holy do not go to OG NOED the pain. If everyone really thinks its unbalanced than put its activation after the 5 gens are do down to having actually hooked someone. If you haven't gotten a single player on the hook the whole game but get to down someone right at the end because you were either AFK waiting for it (I will find your totems if you are AFK with me... Fool me once and all that) or the MMR system put you with a top MMR SWF team you shouldn't get the free down. I do not personally care about this perk and I always assume you have it. I am not running around cleanse and booning every totem but I will take note. If I am the one downed I hope my team can save me but if not oh well you just move on cause at the end of the day its a game. Also if they have NOED I would like the option to kick the killer on hook. It does nothing to the killer no stun or anything but just a satisfying sound to play and a feeling that you kind of did something lol.
Noed or not, I want to kick killers while I hang, that's funny as hell.

Since BHVR is so secretive about stats, I get them off a site that datamines them. It's imperfect but at least gives me a better idea on what's happening with DbD than what BHVR is will to give out. I don't understand the stinginess with data on BHVRs part, it just causes datamining website to pop up and give out the data you're unwilling to give out...
Thanks 👍 I don't get it either, the lack of official data just creates a space for bullshit to propagate.

Survivors will stop using it. It only has a 14% use rate right now anyway, with Self-Care being as 21% (Which probably comes from low levels of play). I don't think it deserved the nerf when you actually look at how much it's used and how much time it takes to actually use the perk. It's a meta perk but it's no over-powered by any means.
My guess is we'll see a return to the gen speed meta, with resilience and adrenaline replacing coh.
I really want to see where you are getting these numbers. I believe you, I just want something to read while I wait for my flight.
Also, just to note. Self care is free, CoH requires you to purchase Mikaela. I honestly think that makes a bigger difference in use than people give credit for. I mean, If you are just starting out playing, there are so many dlc characters that you're not likely to get them all, or even most of them. I don't think CoH has been in the shrine (could be wrong) but even that requires a lot more shards than your average player who is just starting out is likely to have.
-
What you are experiencing is caused by lag. There are a few things in this game that can work that way depending on your connection at any given moment. For example you'll vault a pallet and still get slapped, because the killer actually swung while you were on their side of the pallet, or as killer you'll hit a swing that you could have swore you saw hit the survivor, only for them to be on the other side of the window.
So, while to you it looked like he was closing it as you attempted your escape, to the killer it likely appeared he had closed it just before you got there, the server makes the final determination of the facts and timing, and found that you didn't get to the hatch in time. It's not about favoring killers, or even making it possible to close the hatch while survivors are escaping, it's just lag, common to any online multiplayer game

WoW literally killed off almost every other MMO with subscription based services. I played Ultima Online during that time and recall exactly what was going on, in fact, I switched from Ultima Online to WoW to "experience that cool 3d map stuff" UO was 2d birds eye,....
Now WoW is dying off, its a cycle and its real. My fave game of all time was Ultima Online and its pretty much dead, dont think it cant happen.
Definitely true as well, however I would point out that WoW is almost 20 years old. I've never heard of a multiplayer game lasting that long. It's dropping off now, but at the same rate as interest in the MMORPG genre as a whole, even the free to play ones are lucky to get 1mil users a day, which is a far cry from the numbers Ultima, EverQuest and WoW achieved despite having to pay money for those games. So it's less that WoW is being beaten, more just that it's a 20 year old example of a dying genre, so it's going to lose players. DbD meanwhile isn't nearly as old, and is in a genre that is only gaining interest as time goes on.

I guess there's no shame in using Self-Care over CoH anymore
I still prefer IS/SI for my solo, not going to heal anyone else build, but there should never have been shame involved.
Strictly on paper, CoH is still a better perk for the team, especially as it stacks with every other type of healing, whereas self care is just you and provides a small bonus to med kits, as long as you use them on yourself. Even if you only heal yourself with it, it's still a faster speed than self care. (Not counting the time it takes to bless the totem, of course)
-
1. Stop crutch shaming, crutches help people walk. 😉
2. Seriously though, nerf a bunch of perks on either side and the stats would change significantly, that doesn't make those perks bad, just shows that DbD is a very perk-centric game.

You have more and more competitors cropping up. Competitors who won’t make the same stupid mistakes- not balancing for the more faithful high leveled players and releasing updates riddled with bugs and sometimes game crashing oversights despite a literal testing period a month before release. Do you sense your end? I do.
I don’t want this game to end- I want you all to step up and do better. But you won’t unless given no alternative. Now, it seems, there are alternatives. Get your sht together BHVR, or lose your fan base. Hate and flame me all you want, but mark my words: it’s sink or swim now.
1. Most of the problems you have listed crop up in literally every multiplayer game. Bugs, even ones that kill the game, happen in literally all video games. Balancing? Frankly balancing pvp is like walking on a tightrope, with a bunch of fans blowing, and also the rope is on fire. I have yet to see a "perfectly balanced" game that is still able to introduce new content, because the act of introducing anything new into the game by nature creates imbalances. If you do plan on waiting for a multiplayer game with no bugs introduced and no balancing issues, I'd recommend you take up knitting. At least that way you'll get something out of the time wasted.
2. Competitors. I played vhs, and prop hunt, and last year, and midnight ghost hunt, and F13. I also played Evolve, which is where vhs is actually getting most of their good ideas. Is there a chance some new game on the horizon will do what these others couldn't? Maybe, but it's going to have to do a lot more than just exist on steam and ape a few good ideas from other asymmetrical games. A real competitor will need major backing from a successful developer, cross-platfirn play, a large amount of starting characters, and funds on hand to get licensing agreements... There's a new Leatherface game that may do some of that, but even so, it's a lot more difficult than people like to think.

@latigresa said:
Blessing a totem isn't instant. The 14-28 seconds to bless has to be added to the overall heal time.
True, but at the same time, it only has to be done once for all team members to benefit. So that first heal will take longer, but each other heal won't.
-
Personally I'm waiting to see it actually in action before I join with either the "sky is falling" or the "this nerf is useless" crowd. I realize that's just nuts, waiting to see how something turns out before judging it, just how I roll, lol.

I agree, but then I'm one of those crazy people that spend the majority of the time playing survivor and yet think noed is perfectly fair. I see it activate, but the only time I see it get more than 1k (and most times only 1 hook unless the person was already on death hook) a straight correlation can be drawn to how potato my team went at the end.

It doesn't matter what the viewpoint or attitude is. They're still a group of solos at the end of the day. They're still a team but they're solos. But I agree solo players treat it as a free for all but I really think it's mostly because of the huge disconnect and disadvantage they have versus the swf.
I just get nostalgic because it wasn't always that way, and I have been playing this game and queuing up as a solo Survivor long enough to remember when everyone in the team still acted like a team
-
That really sounds like a hacker.
I'm all for making it so they can't spam the flash, as apparently that's something that can actually cause people to have seizures in real life, and you never want something like that in your game, but the actual blinding, when you aren't being screwed with by a cheater, is reasonable and fair.

only difference is that the devs actually listened to the killer posts and nerfed CoH, with DH on the way. what did devs do for camping/tunnelling? absolutely nothing. i swear if anyone thinks the devs are survivor sided, they're complete fools.
They've tried a few fixes, other than the one for hook angles, they were abused to the point of ridiculousness, but they are still testing ideas internally.
If you think the devs are sided to either end, then you are a fool, the devs are on their side, that being the side where they would really like to keep making money from this video game they made and maintain. Favoring either side doesn't help that goal, and frankly, is too illogical and immature for a group of professionals trying to make a living and care for their families.

It will be in a whole team of solos. For swfs it'll still thrive. Almost every perk can survive swf but this change will kill the solo teams as you can't afford to waste 30+ seconds healing when solo survivors already are allergic to gens. Just my opinion though.
That's an attitude thing.
Clue is right there "team of solos". People like to think since they queued solo, they aren't really in a team. I swear most people end up in swf simply to get teammates who actually act like they are on the same team. I queue solo all the time, as my friends long ago gave up on DbD, and I'll still bring CoH for my team.

Both sides had their fair share of nuclear options
Most if not all nuclear options for Survivors are gone or an extremely toned down version of what they once were
Same for killers.
Remember old Noed? When it wasn't a hex, and therefore couldn't be stopped from activating or gotten rid of once it did?
How about facecamping? Not the stuff the newbies call facecamping now, actual facecamping, where you would be hooked, the killer could stand in front of you and go make a Sammich while your teammates tried in vain to get to the small spot you could get the unhook prompt from.
Old moris too, back when you didn't need to be on death hook to die.
And that's just off the top of my head while I think about what I want for dinner.

As I said before, maybe before you chime in next time, understand the context of the things that are being talked about.
Why? Because those perks were brought up for a reason. That is to explain where I feel (my opinion) that the whole "Camping killers get a 1k at most" is an outdated statement because of perks like Deadlock and NWO. So if you wanna know why those two perks were brought up that is why.
The comment you agreed to didn't state 1 gen, it stated 1-3 gens. Need proof?

My reply to that comment is what you replied to and backed them up on btw. Emphasis on "always".
Yes, it does say 1-3... As I already explained, I was taking the lower number in the range. I did that because I agree RNG is a factor, and 1-3 seemed a bit more broad than what my own experience has shown.

Noed with no way out with remember me with blood warden*
You say NOED like is the only good perk they have, even the las chapter had more strong perks in one killer than the survivors have gotten in the las 2
Ok, so NWO is useless unless they get some hooks before end game, which is going to be rather difficult with no perks to use until the endgame.
Remember Me is in about the same boat, as it requires hits on the obsession, which means not only having to catch a survivor while running 0 active perks, but also managing to catch the right survivor, as 3/4 won't give you any stacks.
Blood Warden takes effect primarily after gates are opened, the 1 time delay in gate opening is nice, but again requires the killer to catch and hook someone, and at that point they can be literally anywhere.
NOED is fun, also if you are playing against a team that can count to 5, it's got a super short lifespan. That's without taking boons into account, which, no matter what one you go with all have the side effect of removing a possible totem that noed could spawn on. So you pay attention to the rest and if you see noed, go snuff the totem that's lit now and wasnt when you were doing gens.
Is this a particular build you have faced a bunch, or what? Because while it's definitely a fun end game meme build, the lack of any active perks the majority of the match make it a hard sell. Especially when half of the perks require you to perform well during the portion of the match they aren't active.

Hypothetically, if it's on par with the other healing perks, doesn't that mean it's still good? It's not like people didn't run healing perks before Circle of Healing came along. This doesn't sound worse than those.
Not only that, but it's the only healing perk that the whole team gets the benefit of, without having to be the one specifically healing them all.

I never said my " " attitude makes me correct. That is your statement, a childish one at that. Then again, it is the forums so I am not surprised at all.
The fact that you imply that every 1st chase takes 1-3 gens is wrong. When a lot of what happens in that first chase weighs heavily on RNG of map , RNG of perks, RNG of pallets. None of which you know ahead of time.
I also didn't try to turn it into "The killer is playing unfairly" I said Camping is an unbalanced playstyle because it is. It was not connected to the first chase comment whatsoever.
The point I was making was simple. The survivor camped has 120 seconds on hook to give to their teammates to complete 5 generators. All 5 generators combined take a total of 400 seconds. Each survivor has to repair a total of 133 seconds in order for all of them to be completed. If Deadlock gets activated at least twice (which is more than that depending on RNG) The total repair time per survivor is 153 seconds. That is still way more time (longer than 120 seconds) than what it is needed in order for 1 single survivor to commit to repair time. Not when this perk has forced 1 more survivor to take another chase, because the camped survivor is already gone.
So, when I say things like "You are using very specific scenarios to fit your opinion" what I am really saying is you aren't following the "math". Only spouting your own narrative to fit into "Well if the survivors can't finish 1 gen then they are bad" when in actuality it was not what was meant through my wording at all. YOU spun it that way so it makes sense in your scenario.
Also those numbers do not include the (hypothetically) 1 stack of NWO and No Ed that could be in play. Which further encourages that playstyle.
If that is true. Then why was this the comment you replied to?
"Only if 1 Survivor spawned on Hook, which they don't. The first chase always takes around 1-3 gens, which means Deadlock won't save enough time to get another person"
See. It wasn't even me who implied the first chase takes 1-3 gens. It was another poster, and he didn't imply #########, he straight out said it. What I said (again, directly stated, not implied) is that the first chase should take at least 1 gen. (Which means I'm actually taking the lower number of the range given in the previous comment) now you want to bring in 5 gens and camping, with 2 very specific non meta perks, and we're the ones bringing up "very specific scenarios" really?
-
Stacks with medkits and other perks.
Works for the whole team with only one person needing to carry it.
Provides self care functionality without medkit or everyone needing the self care perk...
But yeah, it's only a few seconds faster (base) than self care, so clearly that means it's completely worthless now and doesn't provide any benefit. Lol.

I mean, some med kits are now faster than boon healing, so... Why is nobody screaming "nerf medkits"?
They should've just allowed killers to destroy the totem.
Probably because you only get 1, maybe.2 heals with the right addons, lose it at the end of the match (or at least your addons) and can be made to drop it with Franklin's, which is a far easier counter than figuring out which survivor brought the boon and focusing them down.

You are describing a very specific scenario to fit your opinion.
I am talking about how those perks have made the playstyle even more broken. By the time the first person is dead, the camping killer has bought enough time via perks like Deadlock and NWO to easily get a second kill. Through means of camping which is already a playstyle they are looking at.
Maybe follow the conversation before deciding you wanna chime in.
Your ######### attitude doesn't actually make you correct.
The first chase isn't a "very specific scenario" it's literally the first chase. As in the first time a survivor is chased by the killer in the match. Unless you are playing against basement bubba or afk pig, it's going to happen in the match.
I did follow the conversation. The statement was made
"The first chase always takes around 1-3 gens"
You then said "I mean it would be if that one scenario was there only scenario out there, which it isn’t." In a direct reply to that statement.
Which doesn't actually make much sense, (because again, were talking about the First Chase) but I gathered you disagreed. So I pointed out that if your team can't get at least 1 gen done during the first chase (which again was pointed out by thatonedemoplayer as always taking 1-3 gens) that means your team is bad.
You then tried to turn that into somehow the killer playing unfairly, which again, doesn't make much sense when discussing the first chase, which by definition happens before any tunneling or camping.
So I pointed out again that I am backing up thatonedemoplayer's point that the first chase takes 1-3 gens, and yes, if your team can't get a single gen done during that first chase, that's on them.
Deadlock only takes effect after the first gen is completed, so it doesn't effect whether or not you can do a single gen in that first chase. NWO is an end game perk, so I hope I don't have to explain how that doesn't effect gens being done either. I imagine your back must be sore from moving those goalposts so much, so I hope you are least are having fun doing so.

You’re missing all my points in this forum and thus I will end our convo here. Have a good day!
So far the only point I've seen you raise is you don't like depipping because it makes you sad. You have yet to come up with any actual reason why you should be rewarded with a pip when you contributed nothing to the match but an early death.

Oh so it's survivors being bad right?
It doesn't matter that the killer is bad because they are using an unbalanced playstyle right? Not that at all that.
Nice missing the point. Coming from someone who calls other members biased.
Yes. If 3 people can't get a single generator done in all the time it takes to find, hit twice, pick up and hook their teammate, that's absolutely on them. You can claim the killer is playing an "unbalanced" playstyle, but at this point we aren't even talking about camping or tunneling, just the literal time it takes to catch a survivor twice vs fix a single generator once. (As the statement you tried to contradict stated "The first chase always takes around 1-3 gens") Unless you are playing against an instant down killer, you should almost always have the first gen done by the time the first hook happens. If the killer then starts camping, you should have plenty of time to do at least 2 more before your teammate dies, even if you are the literal worst at spotting them.

If you consider the 14 seconds to bless it, 21 seconds to use it, which is 35 seconds, then you add the time to get to the aura which I would say is around 8ish seconds on average, Self-Care by itself will be better. Since Self-Care is considered a horrible perk, Circle of Healing would also be a bad perk to use.
The logical choice would be to use a medkit, put on gen-speed perks instead of healing perks and be done with it.
Self care would be better for you specifically, (or SI) for your team as a whole, CoH still holds the edge. Also because self care doesn't help your teammates heal you faster, but CoH still does.

"I like the nerf, personally, but I think CoH (specifically CoH, not the other boons) should require the user to break a totem before every use; thus creating a limited number of uses and a built in cooldown."
this was the bit I meant to share.
That makes more sense.

Why did you make the same thread 4 hours after Mikaela?
