  • You're experiencing the learning curve in action. First couple days was people who didn't get what to do and wanted to play him like huntress. Now people who play a lot are figuring his kit and eccentricities out, so you're going to face better tricksters. Happens with every new killer

Glad to know that a Dweet dressed in bright colors and holding nothing will give me the same gaming experience when he fast swaps to P3 Claudette holding a key.

    A derp.

The only real difference there is the key. They both have the same movement speed, neither has a unique power (despite the blendette memes), and of course the player behind them is the same person, and likely to play Survivor the same way. So basically they switched to having a key. Why do you need to completely change characters to counter that?

The reason it's locked, as many have noted is because the sbmmr is killer specific, so that you don't have to face top teams with a new killer until you are ready for them. If they allowed killer switching, they would have to drop that idea, which would suck.

If the thought of facing someone with a key and a lot of time in the game with whatever killer you were using is that horrible, or even if you just didn't mean to pick the killer you did, you can still dodge the lobby without dc penalty, and try again. Killers have almost instant-queues across most of the world almost all the time, so you won't have to wait for too long to find another match.

You stay home a lot because you get your ass beat in public don't you?

I'm off to bed now, you have fun trying to convince Survivors to let you hit them.

Btw, quoted this post because every time someone makes a post like this, or questioning someone's sex life, it makes me deduct about 5 years from the age I first think they are. You're getting to the point where I'm kind of impressed that you can type whole words out. Last fight I was in was high school, over 20 years ago. But I'm sure you're a super tough macho guy when you're not begging Survivors for free hits.

Have a good night little buddy.

BTW those videos are of ######### survivors. Thats why they upload those

Of course. They're getting nothing but bad Survivors and you just keep getting stuck with these Survivors who play like they actually want to win. That's the only possible explanation.

You stay home a lot because you get your ass beat in public don't you?

Nope, but it appears you have way too much ego tied up in a video game. It's ok. I'm sure some day Survivors will come and let you hit them so you feel better.

AH YES PERRY THE PLATYPUS I WILL NOW UNVEIL TO YOU MY ANTI RULEBOOKINATOR

    Sorry, my comedy is horrible.

Not a prob. I'm drunk enough to laugh at it, and it seems the op is too in his feelings to keep playing. Just wants to leave without any more interaction. Typical

  • @Blindninja said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070541#Comment_2070541

Yea thats what I'm doing...again you're clueless dude. Just leave.

    You pretty clearly are.

You want the Survivors to have more interactions with the killer? Have you tried, I dunno, hunting them down? I mean, you're literally playing killer, right? Maybe play better. If the Survivors aren't interacting with you, the problem isn't them. Or keep complaining that it's all because the new killer just sucks, ignoring the plethora of videos of people playing him better than you clearly are. It's your choice, I'm just here for the pointing and laughing at the tiny pp move of begging Survivors to play hide and seek with you.

  • Yup, I'm the nerd, the one not making an entire thread to try and convince survivors to let him down them since he can't do it himself.

  • @Blindninja said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070526#Comment_2070526

Ok fool have you ever let a killer down you to see his mori? Or let the killer get his mori just for fun? No I doubt it. Because you're one of those guys. Boring at parties and in bed I'm sure.

    Now that was entertaining.

No, gotta admit I never let someone down me just to see their mori, the internet exists, or I can just play the killer and see it myself. (Without having to rely on the Survivors literally throwing the game just so I can, but I guess we all get to red ranks our own way)

As far as bed? I guess I'll have to ask my wife, not sure it translates to video games, but I'm not here to kink shame.

  • @StibbityStabbity said:

Yaaaa, the Survivors shouldn't feel like they need to tone down their playstyle because the Killer is bad.

IN FACT, it's better if they don't. If his win rate is horrifically low, he stands a better chance of getting a buff.

So to all you Survivors out there, go ape on Trickster. Make every Trickster player uninstall. Do whatever it takes to send the message "This Killer desperately needs to be buffed."

    This guy gets it.

Either people will learn to make him work, or he'll suffer badly enough that he gets reworked. Either way, Survivors playing suboptimally won't help anyone.

  • Done what? Pointing out that the issue appears to be more about 1 bruised ego than Survivors playing the game and not going easy on you because you picked a killer you aren't good with?

    180px-Heinz_Doofenshmirtz.png

    Not yet.

  • Yes, that is about what it sounds like when someone picks an underwhelming character just to complain about him being underwhelming.

I played completely normal, helped save my teammates, gens when I could, and managed to survive some really long chases. I don’t bm because it’s not my style and I didn’t do anything remotely close to bming. I managed to pull off a successful sabo play and did enough to help the other 3 escape. They thanked me for being a good teammate and asked the person playing killer why they had it out for me so hard and they just responded by saying I was “really cocky”.

It was all just standard looping during the chases and all that so I have no clue how my in game character looked cocky lol. I was playing Kate that match so maybe Kate has some cocky vibes that I’ve never noticed.

Kate is my pink cowgirl. People hate her, no idea why. I love her and my wife bought me the cosmetic as a "welcome back home" present, so I gotta wear it!

  • @GannTM said:

I honestly have no idea why, but this is definitely my favorite of the meta perks. I run Borrowed Time in most of my matches when I run WGLF for bloodpoints. BT makes it so much easier to get WGLF stacks because I only get stacks from safe unhooks (protection hits too but I mostly get stacks from the unhooks). Also, BT counters camping which is something that no one finds fun unless the killer is doing it at end game to secure a kill, which is understandable.

I beg to not see this perk get nerfed because it encourages healthy gameplay. I never really get annoyed when I go against BT users as killer because I just simply not go after the guy that got unhooked. People can use it in annoying ways but in reality, it’s not like DS pre-nerf where they can just sit on a gen for a whole minute with no fear of the killer. In fact, I’d love to see it proc when in a specific range of the killer rather than terror radius, because I hate how stealth killers can counter it easily.

So yeah, those are my thoughts on BT. I love this perk so much, pls don’t nerf it.

    I know why.

It's a great perk. It works well, and the only change anyone on either side (or those of us who enjoy the full game) can propose is as stated above, making it distance rather than TR, which would make it more fair for everyone involved.

I hate Blight. I hate that map. I hate that map with Blight. It's like his perfect map, and I got him on that map THREE TIMES today. Like how I seem to roll going against Billys on corn maps making gens a nightmare especially if he has Tinkerer. But when I was trying for Adept Blight, it was Lery's and The Game. I did get Shelter Woods once, best aide I could ask for. Not sure if I got it there though... cause I'm really bad at Blight... needed potatoes and a easy mode map.

We've all got that one killer we hate playing against, for me it's Ghost face. I never seem to spot the shady bastard before he's exposed me. For maps? Midwitch. I hate it as killer, I hate it more as Survivor. Even if I get a win on that map I still finish somewhat annoyed.

The more you play killer, the better you'll do as Survivor. I know it seems trite, but it's true. Or, if you want to look at it my way. You paid 100% of the money, play 100% of the game :) either way, good luck!

But Dead Hard has been on the forum Killer's hit list for awhile now. It, holding W, and BT are the next targets after all.

Well. Keys. But anyone who wants balance wants to see something done to keys.

I'm not convinced the devs actually come here for balancing information. I know, I've been called or insinuated as being a killer main biased player like 3 times today, so I should be all hateful towards it, but honestly I think DH is fine. I doubt it will get the ds treatment any time soon. I could be wrong, but even so it definitely works now, and that's all we can really play with.

BT needs to be changed, but that change needs to be activation on distance from killer, rather than just Terror Radius

  • @KingFrost said:

My only complaint is that people stopped using it, so now I have to run it so that my teammates don't get tunneled by overzealous killers. I'd much rather run a different perk, because I have Dead Hard -- which most of the time gets me far away enough from a tunneling killer that DS would never proc even if the killer is tunneling.

More people should really consider Dead Hard. It's not billed as anti-tunnel, but it certainly helps!

I'm not blaming the nerf I'm fine with it but I feel like my teammates when playing solo just totally throw the game now when they get caught and it was never this bad before for me , maybe it's just a bad couple days not sure but it's #########

It's what happened the last time DS was changed, possibly aided by the new killer damn near having to hard tunnel to get a kill (from what I hear, haven't played him yet as I'm stuck with my switch right now and have the shards for him on my xbox). Give it a week or so and it'll be back to normal.

I do not run with a team because I do not play the game enough. I do my fair share as a team mate when I play solo,,,in fact I do more than my fair share, it just gets old sometimes when I cant play the game because some freaking red rank killer wants to tunnel and camp. I see the names of the killers at the end and I remember them,,,they are all the same red rank killers doing it,,,why? I help out by carrying BT and never run for a hooked survivor with the killer in tow thats just dumb. But, I do save, in fact thats all I do now in solo survivor games. Because the killer is tunneling and camping. It makes the game crap for me, I never get to do gens because someone is rage quitting or not even struggling on the hook, they are just dying. If I am the one who is tunneled and camped and no one is coming for me I will struggle to try and keep the killer next to me to waste as much time as I can so they can finish gens. I dont get what is not team playing in that??? I have lost so many pips and de-ranked from 4 to 6 in two days because this happens to much.

    Thank you for the clarification.

I wouldn't play solo Survivor until the tantrum is over, I believe I already mentioned that in a different thread to you, so I won't repeat myself here.

  • @VexTheHex said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070285#Comment_2070285

Just about anything takes more thought than standing at the hook to re-down the rescued or get a down from forcing a unsafe rescue. Yes it feels amazing when you get the save from the player playing in such a ill manner, but it more often than not turns bitter as people merely exchange hooks or the rescued person is tunneled through another hook.

You also got the Spirits, Blights, Billys, and Nurses that just dash off to dash straight back when the unhook happens. Those are always fun to. I'm so sick of Blight on Shelter Woods.

Also I am avid solo player when I play Survivor. I'm in the genre of Survivors that Killers want in their matches, but they also tend to make the experience as awful as they can cause they use the SWF squads as an excuse to abuse the rest.

I love facing blight. Damn it's fun to make him speed by you.

That's what i love too but many times the other side doesnt want to adapt and get away with the same tactics they always use.

If the devs can properly implement sbmm in this game, I believe that is a problem (much like facecamping itself) that will work itself out. People will either adapt or be stuck facing other potatoes, on both sides.

  • @VexTheHex said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070262#Comment_2070262

You smack them, they finish the unhook animation as you do your weapon wipe, and now you're on top of them for another M1 easy squeezy. That's ignoring killer powers. Camping and tunneling require very minimal effort to make the game miserable for the other side. Only biased players think it's fair or fun. It sucks and drags the match down. Just like old DS, just like keys.

Sorry, not everything the Killers can and have at their disposal is healthy game design.

Or you go in with 2 healthy Survivors.

The best parts of this game, to me, is outsmarting the other team and making them rethink their strategy. That's what makes Survivor fun for me, and definitely what makes killer fun. There are a thousand ways to accomplish any tactic, some just take more thought than others.

For the record, and in case looking at my post history isn't worthwhile to you, I play the full game, not just one half. I am and have consistently been against camping. I agree it's a boring brain-dead play for the killer, but it's far, far from unbeatable.

  • @sesawyer3127 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/238883/new-ds-is-exposing-weak-survivors

Maybe so I dont know. I have never ran DS so I never relied on it but man have solo survivor games sucked in the past few days. So much DC'ing and rage quitting it makes me play less because I watch my pips go away and rank go down for crap that others do.

Yeah, this happened after the first time ds was changed too. I think (but don't know for sure) there is a streamer or other influencer who is convincing players that if they dc enough it will force the devs to rethink the nerf. If it follows the pattern it did last time, it should be "safe" to solo queue in a week or so after the worst whiners have gotten it out of their system and actually want to try to win matches again.

  • @VexTheHex said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2069883#Comment_2069883

You're assuming the Killer isn't going to smack the person making the saving which likely leads to them being downed in the same area.

Also assuming all 4 players are playing optimal and there isn't someone wasting time with totems, chests, doing tomes, etc.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2070025#Comment_2070025

Yep. I find it funny many Killers on here act like it's not fair for them to face SWF squads playing optimal and want more relaxed matches, but then they also support camping, tunneling, and slugging matches in which often punishes and pushes away the casuals and solos. I've Kobe'd a fair amount today as it was a very tilting day from both ally survivors and killers being obnoxious. I wasn't having fun and kept hoping for a better match, but it wasn't happening.

Just as you made the assumption the killer would be able to down the rescuer.

But sure, let's say he gets the hit off, with the codown for any successful m1, he's not likely to get the other unless the Survivor potatoes it up, so there's 1 Survivor who would take 1 hit to down, or he could go for the more difficult down at that point if he wants to tunnel. Still the same time for the other players. This doesn't require perfection, just the base level of competency one would expect from a player who had a few months experience.

I wasn’t arguing about anything. I was just laughing at one of the most ridiculous statements I’ve seen in this forum. And that says a lot 🤔

The comment it was in reply to stated every multiplayer game aside from DbD treated tunneling as an issue. I chose to keep my reply within games I have first hand experience in. I would have added F13, except each Survivor there only had one life, so tunneling actually didn't happen, as it couldn't.

    Have a nice day.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2067516#Comment_2067516

Ummm it seems as if you have ascribed motives to me that are simply just not there. I am a team player, in fact I am so much a team player I have shown other players the hatch near the end of the game then taken aggro so they can jump in. I spend most of my games running around unhooking because tunneling DOES exist so much. I never take this game personally so I have no idea where that came from? I understand that human nature for some people dictates win at all costs even if that means something like consistent and never-ending tunneling to win. I do struggle on the hook when it is feasible, which it is not in most matches is because the killer is standing right next to me. If the killer is camping I do struggle to help my teammates out so I can take up as much of the camping killers time. So, in effect most of your rebuttable seems like you didnt spend a lot of time reading,,,truly reading, what I wrote. But, if people want to pretend like tunneling and camping isnt a problem then cool with me.

From the following statements, phone is acting up, so I have to copy and paste, and will use quotation marks where appropriate.

"First, I play solo so I have no one helping me so there goes that argument."

That reads like you are claiming that you don't have any teammates because you queued solo. I play solo 95% of the time I play Survivor, so I know better.

"because I will struggle on the hook (where I normally do not ever)"

That reads like you generally suicide on 2nd hook. Not a team player move.

"When a killer hooks one survivor because they didnt like how we pallet stunned them or lead them on a long chase so they tunnel like its cool"

Finally this reads a whole lot like you are ascribing a motive to the killer, who you don't know and have no real way of communicating with mid-match. As I said before, most killer players don't tunnel because they are upset at a pallet stun or chase, but because they have to kill 4 people, so they may as well start with who they can catch.

If I read these wrong, feel free to correct me, but that is the implication I received both the first time I read this yesterday, as well as just now when I went back to see what I had replied to.

  • @Mugombo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2069873#Comment_2069873

Lmfao imagine comparing tunnelling in dead by daylight to over watch 😂. In overwatch can you shoot back and can your team shoot back? Or do none of your teammates have guns like the other team 😂

Is that the entire argument you've got?

Tunneling happens in every multiplayer game. It's only incessantly whined about in 1.

I mean the chat can be hidden. Are people playing this game for the game itself or for end game chat?

I've been insulted various times in end game chat, even had been social media stalked by a creepy person I played with, and that didn't make me play the game less.

I play xbox. The PC chat can be hidden. Doesn't really solve the toxicity, but it can be. On xbox, I can either stop all incoming requests and messages (which I don't want to do because believe it or not the other mp games I play I make friends and like hearing from other players) or deal with the constant stream of #########.

I had a survivor last week who literally spent 3 hours spamming friend requests and hate filled messages. Everything from what he wanted to do to my parents, to how I should end my life, to very Insulting terms for sexuality, sexual identity and race. What did I do to deserve this? I hooked him first. He dced as soon as he was on the hook, so even had I wanted to I couldn't camp or tunnel. When I blocked him he went to a different account to continue it. I have a very thick skin (growing up among Harley mechanics will do that) but I suspect the vast majority of people don't feel like it's worth 3+ hours of abuse to play a 15 minute match.

  • @Northener1907 said:

That is happening because there is not enough killers. So game didnt find any purple or red killer for this guys and game gave you to them sadly. New mmr maybe will fix it but game still need more killers.

Oh yes, exchanging who's on the hook is really going to turn things around!!! Lol

Healthy Survivor with BT makes the save, now both require 2 hits to be hooked. They run off and split up. No matter which one the killer chases, it's just extra time for the other 2 who aren't involved to do gens/find totems. It's only an exchange if you make it one.

  • @Chatkovski said:

These are things that are considered a game design flaw in any multiplayer game, except DBD. Sorry, many do not understand the genius behind this.

I'm tunneled fairly consistently in Overwatch as support, yet it's not considered a flaw there, if anything it's a failure of my team to properly protect squishies, same as in WoW when I was tunneled in BGs, wasn't considered a flaw there. Battlefield 4, not punished in any way whatsoever. What games do you mean?

  • I also hope it comes soon. I'm on the road for work weeks at a time, so switch is the option if I want to play. Xbox at home.

    Looking at my proposal...

    • Make is so hook progression stops while a killer is not in a chase and is within 32 meters of the hook, except for end game collapse. That keeps survivors from abusing it and it forces Killers to leave the hook and gives the hooked survivor a chance.

What exactly is bad about this change? You yourself said that Killers who camp is lazy. And survivors who get camped literally don't get to play the game. No other game I know of lets you literally stop someone else from playing it. However camping does exactly that, it stops someone from playing the game. Do you not think this is a serious design flaw in the game, the fact that one player can stop another player from playing the game? Why should it not be fixed?

***And I'm not saying this is the fix to use, there's could definitely be a better fix.

32 meters is just way, way too large an area. Also, is it horizontal or does it count above and below as well? Say I hook someone 3/4ths down the road at Haddonsfield. Well now there's 3 houses and one exit gate I can't go to without stopping hook progression, even to kick a gen. How is that fair?

Yeah I'm on Xbox so I would not use it. Positive it would make me a worse killer but a PC Huntress main might have another view idk.

I tried it when I first got one. Instant down from range, who wouldn't want that? Even brought the infantry belt so I had a total of 3 hatchets. I think I hit all of 2 shots I threw, once I hit the first one the rest of the Survivor team took hiding and ducking behind walls a lot more seriously, the 2nd was because I was right behind the guy running a straight line. I actually got less hits than I do with any other huntress build, so I stopped using them. A few months later I joined the forums where apparently the combo is considered unbeatable.

It is a problem when almost every killer is doing it and you forget that you can rely on your teammates because solo queue is absolute garbage right now. Also even if the devs said it’s fine a long time a go doesn’t mean it actually is, the devs are just wrong saying they aren’t problems.

Cool, so you know more than the devs.

When is your game coming out?

    Wait really?

I have an Nintendo Switch lite and was thinking about getting DBD on it to play portably whenever I am out and about.

I'm still new to Nintendo, so I was unaware that the social system was limited like that. I guess I wouldn't complain since the messages you get on DBD can usually be negative.

I would do it. My switch doesn't have all the dlc (Because aside from Ash I wasn't buying everything twice), and cross-progression is a dream I doubt will be fulfilled, but if you travel a lot it's worth it.

Its very unnecessary. I assume its worst on PC? I'm a console player so I can block players from messaging me period but I don't because I don't take it so hard.

Did they just add the hide chat feature on PC or was it always there? I'm glad you PC players have that option, it'd suck if you had no choice but to see what was written in the chat.

This is the one advantage to playing on my switch.

I play xbox at home, switch when working on the road, and I never miss the xbox messages I get telling me what to do with a toaster. I've never received a message on switch, I don't know that it is even possible with Nintendo's archaic social systems.

i still think the unhooking part is unnecessary you can still unhook someone and be tunneled i would’ve rather it been if another survivor is hooked to me that kinda just tells me to camp cause now all i gotta worry about is bt

If you are being tunneled, who is hooking your teammates? To be tunneled means that the killer is going for you, and only you until you are out.

Also, if you are being chased, why would you pull a survivor off hook where they are vulnerable? At that point it seems less like team tactics and more like sacrificing a team member to the killer.

Is Huntress really that good? I mean it's only one hatchet and then reload. For me I would not even use it just play without addons and get all hatchets.

I don't think so, but then, I play on console(s) and don't have great first person aiming skills.

  • Doctor. Honestly king or queen, both do wonderful work

If you can force Nurse/Billy/Blight to use their abilities to catch up without downing you, you can gain extra value from your stun via their cooldowns.

This is particularly useful vs Nurse (especially if running DH, as you can usually force a couple of sets of blinks [depending on pathing/environment] into a whiff, adding one regular fatigue and one extended fatigue to your chase time).

You probably know this stuff, but there are ways to eek out extra value (even if it is not huge in some cases) with your stun against these killers depending on your positioning/perks/etc, as demonstrated above.

Absolutely. I was just trying to keep it simple for now :) in the right hands, DS is still fantastic
