  • If it were me, I'd go for the eyebrow just because those are the piercings I like the most on others.

But, in the end you should really go with whatever you feel the most affinity to.

Good tip for deciding: Narrow it down to two options then flip a coin to make the final decision. The side of the coin your gut wants it to land on while it's in the air is the answer. If you don't notice that feeling then you'll likely either feel relief or disappointment when you first look at the landed coin and I'm sure you can guess what either of those feelings mean in relation to this test.

  • To me the game is about two things

    • the thrill of the hunt
    • the bloodpoints

I like to outplay people and constantly swap up my build. One game I'll play a very in your face killer, the next I'll play a stealthy surv, the next I'm a killer that relies on surprising the survs, the next I'm a very aggro surv, etc, etc

^^ All those things play into how I get a thrill out of the game. The experience of hunting or being hunted.

Bloodpoints are the main reason I play though and they're how I decide whether or not I won (though I can "win" according ot the game's weird logic with few bp and vice versa)

Thrill of the Hunt is a perk with a name that matches my playstyle and it grants a bonus to bloodpoints so long as it's up. If you run it as your only hex perk and defend it, then you're deviating from the norm, something else I like to do when I play by constantly changing how I play.

That and it's just a really good looking icon.

Thanatophobia at least punishes survivors for not healing, also legion can't be in for places at once.

What he said. As Legion a lot of people just won't heal against you if you don't run Thanat

Combined with Sloppy it becomes a good time waster

  • I'm a bit biased due to my love of Piggy Wiggy

I'm amped for all of them though. Especial the myers weapons (Hopefully he gets a new mask eventually. I get the one his has is his icon but it doesn't really look good on the gown body)

I just don't understand what he said. Some how you made it out perfect, but my new question is, the DBD theme is the IT theme song

That I can tell there's no references to the DBD theme in anything IT related :/

We should find out what we're getting DBD wise fairly soon though. If I'm remembering correctly the next chapter should release in December which means will probably start getting teasers and info on it next month

  • @Peanits said:

The sound is a placeholder. It'll be changed for the proper release.

I am eternally grateful for this news

  • They were answering my initial question. The point of the post in the first place was a friend of mine thinking that the music in the video hinted at the DBD theme (and me being uncertain) but it turned out to be the opening Riff for the Shining theme

Honestly i feel stupid for not remembering that

  • Mori potential is tied to gen progress. One mori per gen completed and the mori is only available to a previously hooked survivor.

It's still incredibly strong but if you want that 4k mori you have to let them complete 4 gens

Hell, maybe make it so that it's the above idea but survs also only have to complete 4 gens for that match if you bring an ebony.

My biggest problem with Moris isn't the fact that you can kill people but that they're stronger than Devour Hope which is a destructible perk that you have to work to get the mori ability on. An offering should never ever be stronger than a Hex: Perk

DBD theme? Aren't it Shining theme?

Could be, I haven't seen the movie in ages though so I'm not sure. Most of my Shining memories are from reading the book when I was far too young to be allowed near anything King made.

  • @marvelmovie said:

If they followed Stephen King I'm sure we getting Pennywise right?

King has a lot of stuff going on so that's not certain.

Penny from the book wouldn't work but they heavily changed the lore for the movie so... I can kinda see it working even if I wouldn't be super thrilled with the kinda limitations Penny would have in the game (nor the lore implications)

Pennywise is certainly the money maker of the group though so I wouldn't be shocked if that's what the devs went for

  • That's what I said too when I found out a few weeks ago lol. I'm gonna reread the Shining before I pick it up though

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/94496/doctor-sleep-chapter

Is this your chapter 14 prediction ? And who's doctor sleep?

Doctor Sleep is the sequal book to "The Shining" by Stephen King. They're releasing a movie for it in November

What I posted is the music from its Final Trailer.

I haven't read it yet so I can't tell you who Doctor Sleep is though

This is more a friend's theory. He noticed it yesterday when we were waiting to watch the IT sequel and saw the trailer and is certain that the 3 notes at 2 21 are proof that this is why the devs are getting in touch with Stephen King.

The more I listen though, the more I think it might just be a coincidence. I wanted to post this to see who agreed with me and who agreed with him.

  • To be clear, I'm doubtful because the whole riff isn't the same and the iconic riff tends to always match perfectly. With only the first 3 notes lining up I don't really see this being accurate. I just thought I'd bring it to other people's attention since it was brought to mine

I realized this came out more as a dev directed love letter than like a discussion lol.

  • It's entirely dependent on my mood and relationship to that last survivor.

I'm nicer to people who clearly seem new or have been bullied/left for dead by their own team.

I'm more vindictive to people who played really sweaty or acted cocky. (Note that I sometimes let the best survivors go out of respect when they don't act like this, when I say sweaty I'm not talking about smart plays I'm talking that full decisive, borrowed, prove thyself, bnp and insta heal squad and when I say cocky I mean the people who think they're good but still go down fast)

    IT 2 was that successful?

I remember everyone saying it was boring/not scary/the first was way better and so on.

It's successful because a bunch of people paid money to watch it only to find out they didn't like it. Success is in sales, not in enjoyment. The first movie was great and hit a lot of people right in the nostalgia so they were willing to shell out for the second one. Combine that with all the positive press from the first movie and BAM you got yourself a big seller no matter how the movie is.

They legit could have played a different movie all together so long as they advertised it as the sequal and would have gotten close to the same results.

I think this is an homage to the horror trope of the final girl.

In horror movies the killer often is obsessed with one girl and she usually lives to the end.

A fun movie that illustrates this nicely is "Behind the Mask the rise of Leslie Vernon".

Huh. I guess that's fair. I wasn't thinking of the movies, was more thinking of how an actual obsession would work (where someone hyper focuses on something).

    @Mochan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/739286#Comment_739286

    It's actually not.

The point of the Obsession is to "save the best for last" -- which is exactly how it plays out in slasher flicks.

Yeah, Cymer mentioned that. I just hadn't thought of it that way before. Thank you both, that certainly lessens my annoyance

  • I'll be honest, up til this point she was just "Ring Girl" for me. Watched that as a kid and don't really remember anything outside of the infamous "crawls out of tv and gives me a ######### heart attack" scene

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

An offering that lets you get hooked an extra time might be cool.

Since they have to be hooked first what do you think the prerequisite for the extra hook state would be? I'm guessing one whole gen's worth of gen progress.

I like thought experiments like this

  • Do you use it stacked with Brutal or alone? Because if I remember correctly alone the difference is negligible even at max stacks (there was a video that did time comparisons out) but for whatever reason it really helps other perks and addons that do the same thing.

I feel like this is basically the main problem with the Chucky thing though. Not only that it was be very difficult to pull off, but even if they did, it would probably end up being "freaking hilarious" and not at all terrifying.

I don't know. I've seen some good horror movies in which a small creature/child/doll/demon drags something by the hair or the ankle while it's kicking and screaming (I'm guessing they'd do ankles because of all the bald dweets in the world)

Obviously I don't expect Chucky since they've made it seem like they don't want to do him (of course they've changed their minds in the past, but this was a technological issue rather than a lore/state of society issue)

No clue how they'd handle hooking in a scary way though. That'd be a problem

  • @HellCatJane said:

Well. I'd disagree with the fact Chucky is impossible to add because of his size, I think his size would be fine, I think they would need to alter some things sure (some of which would be awesomely hilarious). I think there's several idea's and animations they can do to resolve things, and also new perks to help aid in things. But I guess there's no point to this thread anymore because the original poster got banned. And I didn't realize... woops.

They still look at threads by banned users from time to time and I don't think it's a perma ban given it goes Jail, Temp Ban, Perma Ban and I think they were only jailed recently.

    @joker7997 said:

Maybe it would work, Chucky wouldn't be able to see jack #########, but survivors wouldn't be able to see him coming either. Kind of a messy free for all? Lol

Personally I think he'd work as a stealth killer (cause that's how he worked in the movies)

No idea what his power would be though, cause he'd certainly need something to make up for being Hag height

I think wee need a forum feature that allows the users to see whether they already voted a poll or not

Okay, that I can definitely get on board for. Your initial post lost me at the "make you mad" part

  • @TAG said:

I don't think we should even have Ebony Moris as is, so the way I see it, giving Survivors their own ridiculous offering doesn't fix anything. I'd rather just do away with Ebony and have no UR offerings.

I like Ebony. I just think it's poorly implemented. (Still better than it used to be)

A suggestion I had was to tie it to gen progress. IE: You can mori one previously hooked survivor per gen completed.

Maybe also add a rule that a survivor will fight off a mori before X amount of time passes when unhooked so that tunnel moris are less common (as that's the only time mori users really upset me too much)

Either way, as is it is definitely way too strong and is no different to what BNPs used to do

  • I don't understand the question, sorry. Would you mind clarifying a bit?

  • @Exerlin said:

I'd like some stuff like pointing downwards for someone to "stay here"

I'd like it, but as someone who's played Dark Souls I know for a fact that one wouldn't be used as intended. It'd still be useful for those of us who did use it correctly though

    @PrincessPoop said:

We need more emotes/gestures that help with communication.

Things like a “stay here” or “shhh” or “stop” would be nice.

Definitely nothing silly like dancing or taunting tho.

Exactly. I'd really like a "stop" one to just get people to hold still for half a second

Dancing would definitely feel out of place and we already have taunts so we certainly don't need more.

  • Remember kids. When someone gets more of something than you, the solution is always to take it from them, not to ask for more yourself.

Like honestly, the problem here isn't killers getting points it's that one of the survivor point categories is impossible to fill without getting lucky or farming (survival), one punishes stealthy playstyles (boldness), one requires your teammates to ######### up (altruism), and the other is impossible to gain if you get chased all game (objective)

Instead of asking to take points away from killers, ask for more points for yourselves.

Ask for increased basic BP gains for survivors so there's more incentive to play the numbers role.

Ask for increased basic BP gains for survivors so that losing a game you get about as many points as a killer who lost a game

Ask for increased basic BP gains for survivors because the grind in this game is insane

DON'T ask to take things from other people like a school kid who just found out another kid has a slice of cake. Try to get your own slice of cake. Jeeze.

I hate that stuff like this has to be said.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

First of all, I dont see No Mither as a Meme Perk, it is more like another Gamemode. And I dont think that it should be super-buffed, but can get some nice changes.

Those would be (in my opinion):

100% Noise Reduction at Tier 3. I feel currently, with No Mither, you are quite stuck on the Perks - you need No Mither (obviously), you want to have Dead Hard as well. Since you cannot really be chased with No Mither, you need Iron Will to be more stealthy. And last but not least, since it is likely to get tunneled, you want to have DS. With Built-In Iron Will, one Perk Slot would be free to use for Perks like Resilience (for a small Speedboost), Tenacity (to get away while in Dying State), Unbreakable (to recover faster) or Quick&Quite (to be a little bit more stealthy).

Bonus BP (dont know about any percentage) in Boldness and Altruism, simply because it is bold to equip No MIther and in the End, it is an Altruism Perk, because it shifts the Killers Fokus on you so that he will not chase your Teammates.

The 3 first Options are things that are not really needed, No Mither should put you in a disadvantage, like I said, it is a gamemode.

Regarding the fourth, while I think on a regular Basis, people would not use No Mither to farm BPs, Double BP Events will be really annoying when No Mither would grant 100% Bonus BP in all categories. With Double BP, WGLF and No Mither, Survivors would have the abiliy to get 4 times the usual BPs (without any offerings used), which would probably lead quite a lot of people to use No Mither during Double BP Events, which would make it even more stressful than they are right now.

^ this actually. And I'd like the bonus to Boldness to be added after the trial. Reaching your bloodpoint cap faster is pointless because you'll get 8000 in boldness anyway when you inevitably get tunneled into the ground. A post game addition (the way offerings, double bp events, and WGLF work) would fix that by turning that 8000 bp into 16000 bp. Still nowhere near as strong as WGLF, but still worth taking.

  • I really like psychologically oriented animes. Stuff like Parasyte, Steins;Gate, etc but my favorite anime will always be Space Dandy. Stay dandy, baby.

But why? Like what's the benefit of dedicated servers? So everyone's suffering from latency equally? 🤔

I wanted them because I wanted more DC punishment. I'd take endless DCes over a lot of what's happening now though

I don't understand why they didn't do another ptb test for this though, a lot of these problems would've been picked up immediately in a ptb without harming live for however long the test lasts.

  • I play more surv than killer now due to wait times but I used to only play surv when I got too stressed to play killer and just wanted a chill game.

  • I think all killer offerings should be hidden no matter what. I've always felt that way.

I wouldn't be opposed to all offerings being hidden from the opposite side as well, the only reason I've felt it was fun up til now is it allows the Lone Player to prepare mentally for what the survs set up but honestly most people just use it to DC on the loading screen (or if they're especially vindictive, the moment they load in so that the offering is lost to the survs)

  • What Sunder said. It's done to prevent people from cheesing the bleedout. It doesn't actually stop that because ghostface, pig, and wraith can just follow until the bleedout happens and everyone else can't really take advantage of it because, so long as they're in the Terror Radius, it doesn't go down.

Finger Guns... This is all I need...

Finger Guns would be amazing. Should have came with Ace xD

  • This would be freaking awesome

@Peanits Do you think there's a chance we could ever get purely immersive stuff like this?

  • I don't think a teleport would suit him, the exhaustion buff would only help with specific survs, and the gas cloud would just make him a budget doc (which he already is tbh)

I think he needs a rework above all else. He was made to do one thing that every other killer in the game does better due to them having better utility. He was made to chase.

Of course, if we had to simply do a buff I'd make it so that his gas clouds were permanent but any time he reloaded they'd all fade and he'd have a cooldown before he could use them again. This way he'd still have 4 bottles to spam in a chase if he chose to play that way but he could also preemptively set up areas.

This would help his garbage map pressure and tracking but it wouldn't really help his glaring lack of mobility.
