There's a difference. Auto aim gives you a hit you should not have gotten (e.g. you were not looking anywhere near them). This only moves you once it detects a survivor is going to be hit. Auto aim happens before, this happens after.
Like we've said in the stream, if it causes you to hit an object instead of that survivor, this is a bug. Please be sure to report it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1090739#Comment_1090739
The issue with this is that it would cause a lot of hits that you currently get to miss. Say for example you're playing with a controller. You swing at a guy, your hit cone crossed over their hitbox. The game registers a hit, so it locks onto them as they do their fancy spins and it hits them (as it should). Now take that away. You swing at them, but the moved to your side while you were swinging, maybe faster than you could turn. Now they're no longer in that hit cone and they aren't going to get hit.
You are assuming that your system can handle 360 better than human can do...
And this is completely wrong. Please add an option to disable it.
And I am the one playing the game damnit! Cant I decide when I want to hit and when not?
-
Wise words.
Who tf needs an aim assist that can only make you miss... This is literally what Animation Enhancement is...

At least it's much more unique than the old killer powers. Trapper is literally just a basic killer that can place traps.
Well yes, but it was the first killer after all. And arent freddy's snares just nerfed bear traps that can be set from a distance?

Freddy had more than just two abilities.
Survivors glow while in nightmare vision. There's the gen baiting along with teleportation which can put immediate pressure on a survivor. The term pallet hell was flipped on its head. Alternatively he could be trapping chases while still moving. And the oblivious status that ignores all survivor based perks that rely on killer TR.
Plus his freaky extendo arm lunges but that's always been a thing. Also one of the few killers with gen slowing add-ons.
But arent these things just some remenants of his old power? Like the glow thing? I never played old Freddy so I cant say. Most powers can be baited too. I just meant that his new power is snares and teleportation slapped together, and neither is unique. I just think he has wasted potential, they could go way more creative with the whole falling asleep mechanic.
(Just like with Demos portals)

Gonna be a wall smasher. I hope it’s female tho. A burly, muscular, butch female with blond pigtails.
Do you have a screenshot or something?

Unremarkable?
Freddy rework, Ghostface, Demo, Oni, Doctor rework
These are far more versatile and stronger than the killers of yesteryear which could barely cancel loops or had no mobility.
Freddy rework was nothing unique or amazing, they just gave him 2 abilities and it made him strong
Ghostface is cool
Demogorgon's power is quite lazily done and nothing that crazy, its not bad killer or anything, but he is a pile of wasted potential and his perks are garbage.
Oni is cool too
Doctor rework just merged his 2 stances into one, making his power more simple and easier to use.
So its pretty 50/50 so far imo

I've been seeing comments about "balancing" and how they should nerf DS. They don't need to touch DS anymore. It got the nerf it supposedly "needed" last Spring, therefor it's fine as is. Besides, having DS doesn't guarantee ANYTHING. If executed right (as a survivor) you can buy time and maybe even escape. Yes, DS is a huge pain in the ass for a killer, but so is NOED.
Why DS needs to be changed?
Because once its active, killer can down and hook 3 people, find the 4th doing a gen 5 meters from the killer, grab him (if it works) and still get DSed because 60 seconds did not pass yet.
Not to mention surviviors unhooking, opening exit gates or being caught near hatch with DS active... Its a ######### joke.
DS is a perk that punishes killer for doing his objective quickly and in a fair way (hooking multiple people and allowing for multiple unhooks), without requiring any skill, effort, planning or anything from the survivior.
So basically its the same as NOED, it punishes surviviors for doing gens fast and does not require anything from the killer .

Nah, we cant nerf them that much lol
They are 50% of the playerbase afterall

Oh yeah true! Forgot about that! If someone disconnects 2 minutes before the end of the match or to let the last survivor get hatch, then the whole group needs to wait their turn, not just the one guy. If he does it more than once, it goes up to 15+.. so basically the group will have the time to play a full game without the disconnecter by the time his penalty is gone haha
SWF got nerfed finally

@Marcavecunc said:

They did mention that it was the kind of changes they could do in the background without needing to have us install updates, so maybe they ran tests.
There's a livestream tomorrow, if it's that, then we'll hear about it.
If it's the disconnection penalties, then for it to make lobbies that much faster, it means the problem was even bigger than I thought.
I think DC penalties are a possibility.
According to dev statistocs SWF are about 1/2 of all players, and if 1 person gets banned for DCing, then they all have to wait. So basically the amount of people not playing the game because of DC penalties is way bigger than amount of banned players, it could be close to 2 times the amount of players actually banned.

@EvilJoshy said:
The devs probably just removed the rank variable from the Match Making. It's faster because the game is just throwing together the first 5 people it finds.

Question for devs mainly, but everyone's opinion is welcome.
What about to make non ranked list to feel less annoying about losing and so on? It would be perfect to train new builds, killers, survs etc.etc. and definitely less toxic and more relaxi ng for everyone.
I guess it would help everyone, don't u think? Ofc same mm system to feel the same challenge and pressure for both sides.
What do u think?

Hook Tech is not a bug. Its not an exploit. Its called a tech for a reason. Its using the hooked survivor to body block hits from the killer. To think this is an exploit just shows how scrub of a killer you are. Its literally a technique to avoid hits from the killer. when survivors aren't hooked they body block also to prevent other survivors from getting hit. Same principal. How does it suddenly change just because they are hooked. They shouldn't have made hooked survivorrs hittable in the first place I guess. No more hitting survivors when you initially hook them to stop them from screaming. Don't know why people even do this but hey.... HOOK TECH.... Its a technique. Get over it. Stop getting mad at skillful survivors for learning how to counter your stupid face camping and tunneling.
Hook tech is not a bug, but using it is not a "skill" in any way.
Why? Because its caused by Animation Enhancement being bugged. So even though hook tech is not a bug, you are still exploiting a bug, a bug that casuses killer to hit hooked body and not the survivior.
TLDR: hook tech is not a bug, but its caused by bugged "autoaim" that every killer has to use

Wait is that really their response? Does that mean I am allowed to make and maintain a bot for farming BP, or Iri?
Can I get a Dev to confirm this?
I dont beloeve they ever said anything about bots, so as long as your bot does not use exploits, does not hold the game hostage, etc, basically if it can avoid all banable offences and can bypass EAC, then you probably can use a bot.

"In the case of Plague, charging is both the charging/meter increase process AND continuing to hold the button until ready to unleash VP or CP."
That's exactly what I am understanding it as in my previous posts.
"When they refer to holding (which was a terrible word choice) they simply mean active. So with Prayer Tablet Fragment & Worship Tablet simply having CP active with no charging, no pushing any buttons, doing nothing except simply move around the map, this is at a speed that exceeds 115% until the CP timer expires."
See this I disagree with. I do not think that is what they are referring to by "holding". As I said before, we also have no exact numbers too prove it's greater than 115, I personally think it's not.
"As I said try it for yourself. Do a stack of Prayer Tablet Fragment & Worship Tablet. When CP is activated do nothing except move around the map and notice just how zippy she has suddenly become. I’m only recommending the stack because the change is the most dramatic. It’s impossible not to notice her speed increase."
I already have been, it does not seem faster just having CP activated.
@Peanits can we get this clarified as to whether or not holding CP by the games standards means fully charged up and walking around or if it just means you picked up the CP?
You drink from some Corrupt ######### from the fountain, so now you are HOLDING it in your stomach.
Then you CHARGE your vomitpower and then you VOMIT

Imagine someone with the knowhow that writes a little program that blocks keyboards outputs.. the client receives the input, but the program blocks the output from actually being sent to the server. Nothing happens, oh this player's stuck, let's get him out of there, penalty free, in the middle of a chase or whatever situation they feel like getting out of. Tadaaa.
Anything that requires checks on the client side of things can be broken apart and taken advantage of.
If you could do that as easily as you say (Distrupt communication between client and the server) without being detected by EAC, then we would have a plague of cheaters flying around lmao.
Most cheats try to change values on client side to trigger events on server side, changing something between client amd server is the hardest thing to do

I just find it funny how all the killers are complaining about what the survivors can do and how it's easy for them.... I play survivors. Quite a bit, and the things that a lot of the killers are able to do that i play against is just darn right unreal....... Hitting u through pallets, hitting u in midair, swinging and hitting u through objects like trees and rocks etc....... Then u can be halfway around a corner and the killer swings at u, and u still take a hit..... And yes I've seen things that survivors do that make the killer want to throw the system out of the window, but i can only speak on things that i see that aren't cool when i play..... I just hope that they fix these issues fast, because it's starting to make the game quite boring..... Especially with the length of time u wait just trying to get into a match....
Why are you blaming killers for server issues?
Do you think killers dont hit windows randomly, hit hooked body instead of the survivior, have their attacks cancelled when trying to hit someone with Sprint Burst, hit empty space because AE is too dumb to hit a spinning surviviors, etc.
This is an issue for both sides

@Blueberry said:

Yes, while charging and holding, not regular moving. So you aren't just walking around faster at all times unless you're holding it which you already have a base speed reduction in the first place with that so you're more so just negating yourself back to regular speed.
Rat liver is 5% speed boost while charging shread and its a huge difference.
Just because its not much doesnt mean its bad. Haste is one of the strongest effects on the game.

It's selected by RNG, it could be any of the boxes because of it. The first or last one you check. It's more or less the same effect.
It helps you get 1 or 2 kills that is about it, same as leatherface camping, that is enough for a lot of folks so it's all they go for.
When that thread made the poll for who should get a rework after leatherface, most people said Legion, but second after that was Pig as the most requested; and a lot of folks brought up a lot of negative experiences they were having in their games because of these playstyles and just getting shafted by boxes; and of course her needing some buffs in a few areas.
I really like the idea Otz had in his video, that every trap has a set number of boxes that needs to be searched in order to remove it. So 1 trap is removed 1st try, second on 3rd, third on 4th, fourht on 2nd etc. Its still RNG, but one you see someone open it on a 1st try, you know that the next trap will not go down that easy, and that its impossible for miltiple surviviors to get it on the first try. This wouldnt solve all problems, but at least one of them.

They are very RNG for that reason, I've had matches where I do a box, sprint burst to another, and that second box doesn't have it and my timer is more than half up. Like at that point if you get chased off a box by them even once you are probably going to die to the trap no matter what you do just because of bad luck. At the same time it sucks for a pig trap to just be popped off and made useless immediately because they are hella lucky.
That's just not a healthy thing for a competitive game.
As for tunneling, no I mean they full tunnel. The only thing is because of the trap they might chase someone else for like 5-10 seconds but come right back to you to make sure you can never get that trap off by any means. Sometimes they just straight tunnel you off hook to re-hook you immediately until you die too, but some use the traps to do the same thing.
They tend to be the most toxic in the post game too, just 8/10 pig experiences I have had have been just awful. Even Leatherface doesn't face camp people revving his saw as much as you get a pig who just tunnels you right off hook twice in a row.
Its not complete RNG, because heys are assigned at the start of the match, its not a % chance like with Bear Traps.
I think thats because there are no good Pig players anymore, tunneling as pig doesnt help you win at all, but noobs use boxes and RBT as a tracking tool.
I dont play pig much, actually I play her only with splinters (so perkless and addonless), but 1st try trap removals are a nightmare, and tunneling is not viable at all. Its way better to split pressure and trap everyone.

From what i saw from the hacker i faced you cant hit them they are immune to everything pretty much they move really fast and they can actually fly up in the air.
I really would like to hope the devs are looking into this.
Devs dont handle cheat detection, EasyAntiCheat does.
But this cheat here looks like it can be detected and banned by Devs easily, even though it bypasses EAC no problem.
-
I heard this idea before, but as someone said: "Killers already have too many things to worry about" so I dont think adding self dropping pallets is a good idea.
Not to mention that your version of this idea is based on RNG, and adding RNG is a bad idea by itself.
-
Yeah, Plague is almost fine balance wise, but super weak at gaining points.
- Boost point gain for all "power hit" events, both Vile and Corrupt Purge
- Boost point gain for infecting
- Add/boost point gain for surviviors staying infected for a period of time.

The most ideal time to activate a pool is if a chase takes you relatively near one (it’s a judgement call). In almost all instances it’s always worth the slight deviation mid chase to activate a pool. It’s never normally hard to catch back up, and now you have the most powerful ability in the game.
Is it worth to re-infect the guy who cleansed and then use the power?
-
The one with lower ping/reaction time wins, its that simple.

@Kaelum said:
While Scott Jund's idea has merits, it is fundamentally BROKEN!
Why is it broken? Because the chase mechanic is 100% unreliable. Why do you think Mend no longer uses it. Instead, change the mechanic to Pause when a player is downed. When any downed player gets up, the mechanic Resumes in full effect. The only way to permanently End the effect, is to hook a survivor. Once the first survivor is hooked, and the Pause/End phase-out is over, the game plays as it currently does.
Pause/End should linearly phase-out the mechanic over 15 seconds, while Resume should phase-in the mechanic within 1 second. That is how you balance the mechanic, and there would not be any possible way to abuse it.
I think you are fundamentally wrong.
Chase mechanic IS UNreliable, if we are talking about precise timers (mending).
BUT Trial Warmup ends IMMEDIATELY after chase starts. So its not a matter of any precise timer, it just has to START.
There is no difference if gen speeds will increase 10 seconds earlier or later, chase start is a moment reliable enough to end the warmup phase.
The only problem are some abilities, but Scott made a correction and said that ANY killer event will end the warmup. So stalking, getting caught in a trap, etc will end the warmup too.
