I've been having a great time with her, new main for sure. Don't know why a lot of people have been struggling with her, most of my games have been consistent 2-3ks.

I have as well, although SWF has always been no kills. I also got a lot of SWF which isn't really fun when you can't get any hooks and 2 or 3 survivors have COH, which most SWF I go against have.

I think she could use a slight buff especially if the devs are going to give solo players more buffs to be like a SWF.

  • Log in each day in a row, at the same time. That's how you get it.

If you miss a day, might have to start over or you don't get it at all? Not sure.

That's why they are having the 7 day login event.

Is anything better? Is DBD still doing NFT stuff? Has this game changed for the better over the past year? What's this Iri Shards deal with the Chili Billy? I have not been keeping up

Not much has changed since SBMM released, other than a few new killers, survivors, a couple of maps... What would make you come back if you don't mind me asking?

  • Don't know but that should be a thing. There shouldn't be a max on bloodpoints, or at least raised higher than 1 million. It's too easy now with monthly ranks to max 1 million and I prefer taking my time spending points rather than being left with nothing.

So if glad you get to keep warning points past 1 million. Not fair. ☹️

    Ok it is official!

I am not longer able to differentiate between sarcasm nerf threads and real ones.

It's okay. Me too. Apparently people here would rather be rude and sarcastic rather than friendly or helpful. I'm out on this one.

I guess I didn't realize the OP was sarcasm. Why make a discussion then? It's not logical.

I played like 10 straight games against (blight ringu trickster trapper and others) Myers was the only killer that managed to killer me. He’s just way to op. Why don’t people not realize this😤

Never answered my question so that's a no. There are literally how to videos on YouTube to counter Myers. Spine Chill is also a great perk. Sorry you think he is "way op" because you lost ONE GAME to Myers. 🙄

Like I said. Play him and find out how easy he supposedly is.

  • I just think they need to separate them from the add-ons. There are times I choose an add-on over a perk and regret it because it doesn't come back for another 20 tries. Same with perk upgrades.

I really hope that's the direction they are going in.

I use BO quite a bit and I definitely get value out of it. If you keep hook locations in mind and ensure you go down as far as possible from them (in a structure if you can), you'll get plenty of escapes.

Before the change, it was such a horror show that I ended up playing survivor for a week.

That said - it is easy to underestimate how difficult it can be to learn survivor too. I'd say that for new players, killers have the upper hand. At intermediate MMRs, survivors tend to have it easier. At the top of the ladder, things seem fairly even.

I completely agree with everything you said. It's just frustrating that almost every discussion I see lately is nerf this killer, nerf that killer perk, the game is too hard, ect all from players who only play survivor and have no idea what its like to play killer.

I also play Elden Ring. I've beaten previous Souls games. Those are hard. They aren't impossible, but that's hard and rewarding at the same time. Nobody who actually play those games complains about difficulty.

But I've seen with past multiplayer games that the majority usually win over the devs, and the nerfs come and the games become unplayable. I don't know, I'm just venting I guess but yeah, I agree with what your saying completely. There may be small imbalances here and there and I know it takes time to smooth things out. Just tired of seeing nothing but complain I guess, and yet here I am doing it. I'll shut up now lol. Sorry.

People say this guy is weak but he’s just way to overpowered. He exposes the survivors so fast and can down them with ease. His movement speed too. there is also no counter play when he 99s his tier 3 and uses it on you. And let’s not forget his two busted addons. He needs a heavy nerf or reinstate haddonfield

Have you ever played Myers or the other Steath killers before?

I'm still...puzzled, as I'm not sure how someone could be that upset that Boil Over was changed.

Boil Over was just so abusive on certain maps.

Some Survivor mains are only upset about survivor perks because they never had to play as one of the Killers, which all play differently compared to Survivor, and are overall harder to learn.

Thats why they get upset so easily over Survivor perks being balanced, which is what Boiled Over is finally after the insane, abusable buff it had. Before that, it was worthless. Now I'm seeing it used in some builds, including ones I use when playing survivor.

  • @MonsterInMyMind said:

    • Camping wouldn't be an issue if the game's didn't progress as fast you're seeing more camping because Killers believe the games over after 2 gens are done.
    • It's not just Survivor perks being nerfed there's been Killer perks nerfed as well welcome to balancing a game.
    • You only see 3 Killers because anytime Behavior has tried to buff a Killer like Freddy for example he's cried about and gutted back to nothing. Hence why Blight is still untouched.
    • SBMM isn't perfect but it's been confirmed adjustments are happening by a Dev
    • Lastly the Grind the Dev's have confirmed something for the Grind is in prototype they can't explain yet but it's on it's way at some point

What it seems like is you're currently bored so take a break from Dead by Daylight we've all been there sometimes it's healthy too

    Best response.

  • As soon as my FMLA is over and I can plan to finish college (2 years for Game Design Degree), I'll apply and hopefully get to be one of the lucky ones to increase that number. Or not...

But 900 employees isn't actually a lot for a game like this and complaining about it isn't going to make things move any faster. Yeah, it's frustrating how this game has bugs and glitches, but it's far better than games like Battlefield 2042, Star Trek Online, and every other game I quit playing because the games were just... Unplayable.

So, until then they get more staff, we can just try to be helpful in sharing ideas and just hope they listen to us. If they choose not too, I still hope they listen. The last few updates along with Onryo are giving me hopes. Let's try to stay positive. I know I'm guilty of not being positive, PTSD and major depression will do that to you during times like these. But I'm just tired of seeing all the negativity here. We can be critical without being downright rude in the process. I hope things, whatever they are, get better for you.

  • I use it as survivor and honestly, I think it is a bit sensitive. I really only use it for that extra 6% percent buff to vaulting (it's very useful). I think 20 some meters would be a but too easy for me to know the killer is coming for me as opposed to right now I can't tell...

So I'd actually call that a buff with the distance. That's for me personally though. I can't speak for how others feel on it.

  • I never played the "old" game, but I've seen videos...

I have to say it looks scarier and darker. Today, some maps are so bright, it's like what is the point? Also, the fog today doesn't even look like fog.

Finally, Pyramid Head should totally have a fog like the game. Maybe make the lighting and fog different for killers, like Freddy has set up already?

I play DBD for horror and fun. 2 years ago it was somewhat like this and only got less scary. I was thinking of leaving the game soon... But the Onryo is a fresh if breath air and I hope the Devs bring back the horror aspect and less competitive aspects. Including the dark, foggy, scary lighting. Even if it's an alternative game mode.

I've played against her a fair amount, and if she's catching people off guard they just aren't paying attention. The lullaby telegraphs her proximity, and you'll generally spot her incoming.

The big issue though is that unlike most of the cast, she has to straight up M1 chase for both hits - which on some maps is a nightmare. Her secondary objective can be completely ignored and be fine, or completely negated by a single player.

It's possible for two things to be true at the same time :).

Here is video of my latest game. She's not great or big, open maps like Eyrie of Crows, Badham, or any of the Autohaven Wreckers maps. But she's decent. I will say I got lucky with my first condemnation in this game.

I've got videos and I win most of my matches with her. She's not great in big, open maps.

This game was a bit difficult (plus I kept getting stuck on walls with her).

  • You all keep saying she isn't good at stealth, yet every game I do play as her I end up faceplanting survivors with her. I wish I could get a streamer or someone to record video from the survivors perspective because from the killer's, it looks like it doing pretty good at scaring survivors which is what my goal is.

I just wish they did more with her condemnation, but everything else about her is perfect.

  • @anarchy753 said:

They said last Q&A they were looking at changing it.

However with their track record of changing perks (cough, circle of healing, cough) I don't know that we can expect anything more than a slap on the wrist for dead hard while they pat themselves on the back for doing a great job.

At least they did good with Boil Over after... Well we won't talk about it. COH still needs a nerf or something that limits how many survivors can use it on a map at a time. It's still better than a medkit and can be used over and over.

Fingers crossed but not expecting anything too exciting.

  • Needs to have a cooldown. I've played some games as Myers where I reached cap on all survivors and couldn't pop tier 3 at all. It shouldn't be permanent like it is right now.

  • The game should be balanced as 4 to 1. However, it is balanced as 1 to 1 to 1 to 1 to 1.

One survivor shouldn't be as powerful as the killer. 4 survivors should be equal to one killer. But the game isn't balanced that way, each is why everyone is complaining about this, that and the other thing.

Now they are trying to make the game more fun with a screwed up balance system in place, which is never going to happen. Sure it's fun right now with Sadako but watch, they'll nerf her too despite she's fine where she is at.

So if you just got it today then that means that there was a day or two that you didn't play especially after the DLC release is that correct?

I have played at least one game since last Thursday. Might be that you have to log in. I missed release date because I was in the hospital so Thursday was my first day.

  • Play the game for 7 days in a row. I just got it.

  • It is 7 days of playing. Just got it.

  • I'm still waiting on Series X for my charm. It's been 7 days.. 😞

  • Fix looping meta, remove pallets, flashlights, ect.

See how that sounds? Tunneling is part of the game play. Just get better at looping or go full stealth build. I'm not the best looper but I've gotten away from several chases. I'm sure you can too.

  • She needs to be 4.6 movement speed and her phasing sound should sound like a banshee screaming. That's all I'd change for now.

  • I tried Nurse in RPD station... It's a no go. Try that?

"Every killer I come across is running an anti gen rush build because that's all they have."

This is true, and in the same manner, most survivors in turn run full second-chance perks to stay alive long enough to maybe finish the generators. One begets the other, and this kind of meta has wedged itself so far into the game that killers and survivors are punished for deviating from this even slightly. Every time I go and play more than 2 games with off-meta perks, I'm immediately reminded why I don't do this more often.

    Exactly my point.

  • @Munqaxus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2853836#Comment_2853836

    You missed her entire point.

    1. Killers wanted slower gen speeds.
    2. The developers gave killers slower gen speeds by adding a secondary objective (Boon Totems)
    3. Survivors are only going to do secondary objectives if it's in the Survivors interest to do them. Hence, CoH has to be better than Self Care or survivors will not do them. (No one in upper levels of play uses Self Care because it's not good, it's a noob trap).
    4. If CoH is nerfed, gen speeds will get done faster because survivors will stop blessing totems and stop healing.

It's the exact same thing that happened to Chests. Chests use to be a secondary objective but after keys were nerfed, Chests and Chest perks became essentially "dead perks". Gen speeds increased because everyone just ignores chests now.

I didn't miss her point. Seems you missed mine. All I want from COH is removing the ability for more than 1 player to have it on the map. I haven't seen one killer win against a team with COH on 3-4 survivors. I also want to deviate away from having to use the same perks just to have a chance to win.

Example... I have to always run Borrowed Time in solo queue because there is always that survivor who just decides to run towards the killer. On top of that, I have to run Spine Chill just to signal the other players when the killer is coming.

I'd prefer a stealth build, but then when I do that, my team goes down fast.

I don't play SWF so I don't know what it's like, but maybe that's what the game is missing? Communication? Something is off and I'm just trying to figure it out because nobody else wants to.. Instead they want to argue and complain about it.

  • Maybe some glimmer of hope that the community would actually be heard and treated like real people.

  • I probably already said this, but I suck at Dead Hard. I use Overcome, Lithe or other exhaustion perks. Dead Hard timing is just off and it ends up being useless in the long run to escape chases.

  • Tell that to the survivors that decide to not unhook you after your first unhook, or even better... Tell that to the survivors who try to troll the killer, end up having 2 go down with face camping killer, now it's 2 v 1, 4 gens still need to be completed... Nothing to track hatch... Sorry but SBMM isn't good in a "Team vs Solo" game.

SBMM is actually frowned upon in every other game out there that I know of... COD, Battlefield, ect. Maybe if BeHavior had better servers where I could play with others in other countries instead of keeping games local to each continent... Then it might work, but right now I'm being rated based on the failures of my teammates, usually less skilled because SM couldn't find someone in my area as good as I am. 😐

  • @Mandy said:

I remember when healing was nerfed - it gave birth to the Resiliance, Spine Chill, Iron Will, Adrenaline meta and I believe it most definitely gave rise to what we now refer to as "gen rushing". Prior to that, Survivors would spend more time healing but this change showed survivors that they were wasting time healing and focus the generators instead. Survivors adapted to the changes and developed a new meta basically, which is something that will always happen.

I don't mind survivors healing, as I know that's less time they're spending on gens. Speed of healing could possibly be an issue - super fast medkits etc, but I do not think healing itself is the biggest issue.

Speed of healing (Circle of Healing is faster than medkits) and the amount that can be placed is an issue. Try going against 3 circle of healing on a map with exponential on 2. Killer hexes don't even get to be out back up when destroyed.

You listed a bunch of perks, but right now we just have COH meta, because all it takes is 9 seconds to heal another player without other perk buffs.

The problem is trying to balance a game that should never had been balanced to begin with. Killer should always be meta over survivor. But we have so many Exhaustion perks now, plus healing perks, not so good gen perks, it's just I don't think the killer's are getting as much care as they should. Every killer I come across is running an anti gen rush build because that's all they have.

I think there needs to be better communication with the community than just listening to a bunch of entitled, sore losers complaining all the time because it's lead to Meta heal with just 1 simple perk. Not 4 different types of playstyles as you mentioned. We are the ones playing and we make the overall decision of the direction of the game. I'd hate to see such a great game go in the toilet because the devs are refusing an actual discussion and critique from their own consumers. What makes a great game? The players do and right now it's pretty toxic. I'd love to see more than you or Peanits get involved in discussion. Thus game should never have been turned into a competitive game. That's what wrought the meta healing and other meta stuff that just doesn't need to be in the game at all. I hope you take this into consideration and I'm always open to chatting or clearing up anything.

  • Dead Man's Switch, Scourge Hook and Iron Grasp. Not 100% perfect but works really well.

  • Quit rage quitting and it won't be a problem. Seriously, so many rage quitters lately, shouldn't even be aging at all.

Also, I've lost internet connection before... 5 minute wait time. Not a big deal.

  • I was in the hospital the day of release, but when I got out on the 10th, I got the DLC. Been playing every day since and still no well charm. ☹️

I think Mandy or someone else on the forms said since you can't get the cheaters steam ID to just type the their username if you are on another platform

Yeah, you can't get anything. But I come across a few every week, usually as survivor and they too are survivor. I end up just tossing the game for the killer at that point.

  • See, wouldn't know because I'm on Xbox Series X and when I report, all I get is a button. Can't even type in anything for my report like PC players can. I'd report more often if the report function worked better.

  • @SuzuKR said:

The specific AFK Pig scenario shouldn’t exist, but Pig situationally bodyblocking Jigsaw Boxes in a normal game shouldn’t be nerfed at all. If she sees someone running to a Jigsaw Box, she should be able to block them off it if she gets there first, as long as it’s not for a ridiculous amount of time.

Eg, she sees the RBT is beeping quick, which means timer is almost up. So she beats them to what is probably the survivor’s last box and blocks it for the remaining 60s or less, so they guaranteed die. That’s completely fine. I’d just make it so if she’s in like idk, 5m radius of the Jigsaw Box for more than 60s, any keys inside it randomly move to other boxes. That way it doesn’t affect strategic bodyblocking.

Thats not body blocking. The player can still leave the game. Body blocking is like holding the game hostage, where the player cannot move. As far as I can tell, the survivor can move freely.

The devs just need to find another way for Survivors to escape the trap other than the jigsaw puzzles.

Examples could be using a toolbox or adding a perk that works like the toolbox (no insane repair speeds), or have another survivor assist in removing the trap like healing.

I'm hoping the devs have something like this up their sleeve, because while it's all fair, it isn't fun.

  • Why isn't this a poll? I think that'd be a better gauge and maybe the devs can get a better picture of what the community thinks?

I'm all for quality of life improvements, balancing and bug fixes right now. In a year, we can go back to new content. Just an idea.

  • Higher MMR, more cheaters. You get used to the report function eventually, or you just give up reporting it like I did. The game does need a better system to detect cheaters. Steam also needs a better system as well since they are all steam accounts.

  • The only issue with Boons is that multiple survivors can put down the same boons to cover almost the entire map.

Also, COH heals faster than med kits. They dint need to be removed, but still need nerfed.

Example, try playing against 3 SWF players with boons. It's practically impossible without face camping which I won't do. Maybe I should have?

This was on the game and looking into a corner. Heard the survivor running up behind me but wasnt stressed coz I was looking into a solid wall/corner with no holes nearby. The beam was from behind me and a bid to my right (judging from the footstep sound)

That's usually a cheater. A lot of them are using flashlight hacks as of late. I just report them, regardless if they are or not just in case it's a bug or a cheat. Either way, the Devs will take care of it. Just wish I knew if my reports were being seen since I'm on Xbox Series X and I can't report a specific user or enter text explaining the situation. I also wish they didn't need video for proof. I'm not always recording (nor should I have to).

  • I tried out Nurse today because she's been re-enabled. 2 games in a row she got stuck, so I gave those games to the survivors. Not going to even try if I keep getting stuck on rocks, in walls or other objects.
