I love the replies and seeing what people consider 'respect'.
Why does giving up your item = 'respect' though?
I'm sorry but I'll take my hook like a man. I aint going to beg someone for mercy. If you got me, congrats on the win. I'm not a teabagger, I just don't like to leave it up to the killer. So if I make it to the end and am likely 99% to escape, then so be it. Same goes for my death. If I'm the only one left and killer closes hatch and forces me to hit EGs, I mean who can you blame really? Thats how the game goes.
I don't know, I guess I'm a lil different to the replies in here, lol.
I lose pretty often, so the items have no value to me lol It's just a way of saying, I give you my item, you give me some breathing room.

Genuine question, OP: is your name a CWC reference?

Ignore all the red rank killer mains who got butthurt about your post/thread and tried to condescend on to you.
'Talk when you're in red ranks kid'
OR, MAYBE
Its just easy.
I said this before, but a lot of people tend to feel sorry for themselves when they play. I used to be guilty of it too. But both roles have their own objectives and playstyles. They both have great advantages and disadvantages.
Though to be honest, the way the game is set up doesn't help either. I'm sure a lot of the butthurt comes from how easy it is to feel dogpiled or targeted as killer and survivor respectively. People bring that butthurt here with the "ugh typical killer/survivor" rhetoric as if it's really all that serious lol
But anyway, I agree. If the game is working out for them, that's great. No one needs to feel insecure just because someone said the game is easy.
-
I had a match earlier today where I went out of my way to save someone who was getting camped and then all 3 of the other survivors left me to die on my first hook when the gate opened lol

It'd be interesting if we had Resident Evil Outbreak-esque adlibs. Comment on the situation (items you've found, info about the match, etc.), ask for help, say everyone's names, directional commands, etc.

Closest to the movie version? Are you gonna kill 2 dogs too? π₯

It's end game. Nobody has to do anything but scramble to kill or survive. It's up to their teammates at that point to help them, and if they fail them, that's not your fault.

What about the babadookie

I'd really wanna see Ash, Bill, and David have a conversation lol

I'm still waiting on David's Tome 1 cosmetics π₯

I haven't had a killer DC or yell at me in a while, but I'd assume it's the same exact rage.
I don't really understand the point of DCing though, even in the worst matches. It makes all that suffering worth literally nothing in the end. I think it's a little backwards that the game will still punish you in instances where other players are griefing or holding the game hostage, but it is what it is.

Good to know someone else is also a fan of combining Iron Will and BtB. I thought I was just weird for liking it.
(I mean I am weird, but still.)
Nah, they work pretty well together imo. Keeps everything quiet in case of a stridor spirit lol
-
Surprisingly I don't. I'll have certain perks I like to keep on specific builds, but I tend to rotate a lot.
Right now, I'm grinding Chris and Claire out. Chris is running Flashbang (I always keep at least one unique perk), Inner Strength, Quick & Quiet, and Head On. Claire is running Blast Mine, Resurgence, Bite The Bullet, and Iron Will. And in those builds, I'm only running Quick & Quiet because it's a locker build and Iron Will because it's a nice addition to Bite The Bullet.

DBD fans have a huge problem with feeling sorry for themselves. Their experience playing the game is all that matters and everyone else has it easier. There's a lot of Twitter and Tumblr people that love the game too, and you know how nasty and dramatic they can be. So I know exactly what you're talking about lol
Overall though, those are just the loudest people. I assume the majority don't even participate in the community, so what you're seeing online is really just a fraction of the userbase. As a whole, every part of the userbase is keeping the game active. It might eventually bleed users, but it's still a fairly casual online game that allows you to play with friends, so despite its flaws it will probably stick around as long as Behavior wants it to.

I'd be down for any franchise to get its time to shine, this included. I used to love these movies as a kid.

The proper solution to this IMO would be that leaving a match doesn't instantly make you die (or instantly end the match in the case of killer DCs) and just leaves your character idle so that others can still interact with it. Also, after leaving a match, a player should only be offered to rejoin the match they left until it has concluded, after which they receive the leaver penalty before they can rejoin queue. To prevent potential abuse maybe put a cap where once the match hits 20 minutes any idle characters are fully kicked from the match.
Since they're working out the bot partners, it might be interesting to have that as a thing. It still might kill the match for the other survivors, but it at least adds temporary cannon fodder.

I used to wait at the gate to let killer get off an extra hit. No teabagging or dead harding out. But I've been told they hate that so I stopped lol
My first instinct is usually to stop and face the killer and drop my item (if I have one). Glad to see that that's universally a thing.
The only thing that gets me paranoid is that survivors communicate with each other by teabagging and I've seen killers get upset thinking it's targeted toward them so they go into tunnel mode lol

Agreed. If someone is willing to Boop, they get a free pass for the match. I've depipped for mass Booping, lol.
This was one of the funniest groups I ever went against. I found them ready to Boop watching the overhead TV's and things went surreal from there, lol.
Everyone lived in that match, and I depipped, but I didn't care. Definitely a win. π€£
lmao That's cute. One time me and the other survivors were doing a circle dance in a corner of the map in one of the dead end areas and we were lucky enough to get a Bubba that took use all down with the chainsaw lmao But we all got a kick out of it. I wish there were more matches like that π

This is probably the best place to request it, but it takes a few tries to be acknowledged sometimes and even that doesn't guarantee a whole lot. It took me a few months for them to acknowledge a broken Ash cosmetic and the several updates since then haven't addressed it.

Pretty much this, though I can understand if it's your favorite game that it might be hard to do. I've been playing today, burnt out, trying to force myself to write a little bit since that's another one of my hobbies. I haven't done it but I do really need to take a break for at least a little while. We all should really.
There's a good compromise if you need both as well, in the form of doing something creative inspired by the game. The modding community is a good opportunity for that, or drawing, cosplaying, etc.

It varies from game to game for me. As survivor, pipping using feels like a "win" to me, even if I don't make it out. If I had a successful chase or accomplished a lot to help my team survive, that's enough.
As killer, it varies even more. Faced three Rank 1 survivors with a 4th on a smurf account as Legion, a killer I barely play and still got a 2K (and was an eyelash from snagging a 3 or 4K) -- that definitely felt like a win because I played well. I've gotten a 3K or even a 4K before and it felt more like a loss because of how many mistakes I made (the survivors just made more, lol).
Overall, though, I want to have fun. I meme around as Piggie enough and get no kills in a match but still have a blast, so it's not all about how many people end up on a hook. As long as I'm enjoying myself, I'll chalk that up as a "win".
I have to say that going up against a social pig is always a blast, even if we all end up dying.

The grinding during the event wore me down a bit too. Don't let the game live in your head rent free if you can help it. Focus on other things in the meantime until you feel like playing again.
-
That's the catch. But man is it satisfying when you pull off an incredible team strategy without any proper communication.

I always assume it's an accident unless the timing makes it obvious. Sometimes the game crashes or their connection drops. The game can be incredibly unstable with that sort of thing, so you should always give them the benefit of the doubt.
Like I've had a few matches where someone DCs while they're on a gen or right when the gate opens, or where a killer carries me into a corner and eats the wall until they DC.
However, if they DC the second they're picked up or during a mori or right when the killer makes themselves present, then you can pretty much assume it's a tantrum. Same with a killer who's been looped a couple times and suddenly the match ends.

I believe it would work better if it were in keeping with the rarity of the charm.
Brown: 500
Yellow: 1000
Green: 1500
Purple: 2000
ultra rare: 2500 until 7200
What do you think?
I don't think that's bad. I'd definitely want them to not exceed too far beyond the cost of perks, since they're a really minor cosmetic. But I wouldn't expect them to hand them out for nothing either. I think your chart is a decent balance.
-

I want leprechaun or scissorman but neither will ever be added tbh
I can't think of any new crossover I'd be interested in buying, but I would 100% invest in a Clock Tower crossover if I got to play Jennifer against Scissorman. But I'm not entirely sure how that'd work either.
Of course I'd also love to see Jason like everyone else, Pinhead, Carrie or Mary Lou Maloney, etc. Since we had a corny kpop anime chapter, there's no excuse to not give us a FNAF or Scooby-Doo crossover either, but Idk if they'd actually go for that lol

@DwarvenTavern said:
It's annoying me too, you're actually forced to use at least a meta perk if you'd want a significantly better chance to play, but I HATE IT. I just want to use whatever I want
Something that really reframed the game for me was running unique perks for each survivor. I played Ash for a while only using his 3 unique perks and then a random fourth (usually Tenacity to buff Flip-flop). That was also before the recent increase in speed running tactics, but it still might be worth doing for a while to see how you feel.
Even now, I always prioritize at least 1 or 2 unique perks on each survivor so that I avoid the usual BT/SB/UB/DS boring meta.

This happened to me for the first time ever 2 days ago. It did allow me to get the hatch I have to say. I was right near it, and the Killer was Blight who could easily rush over and slam in the amount of time the sacrifice animation took.
It happens so rarely that I don't see why it's a big deal. The D/Cing survivor gets no BPs, gets a D/C penalty. And the Killer moves on to probably 50 regular games before something like that happens again.
I play Solo Q tho, so maybe SWF does it more.
Same. I do see people DC a lot but it's usually because they're throwing a fit. Same with suiciding on first hook. Most of this stuff seems to be more common with rank 1 SWF which I don't have any experience with.
-
It's good that you're taking to the new role well. Hopefully it becomes a healthy challenge for you over time.

I agree with you. Do you think bhvr can bring the charms?
I think they could easily implement a charm shop in the same vein as the Shrine of Secrets. The only thing I worry about is with their track record lately, they'd be likely to price gouge the hell out of them. Imagine spending 7.2k on a charm and/or having lower rarity charms skipped entirely because they don't inspire people to break and use auric cells instead.
I'd like to think they wouldn't be that grubby about it, but it's not unreasonable to assume at the moment.

Yeah, I hear you there, lmao. I'll go through one match complaining like nobody's business, and then go "time for round 2 π".
It's just one of those games where sometimes suffering is part of the fun, but other times you just need to step back when it becomes too much.

I understand perhaps keeping the level 70 ultra rare charms restricted, but low rarity charms not being available because someone didn't obtain it is crap in a game that already has had to deal with exclusivity issues and cosmetics.
Tbh, even those (and this is coming from someone that's bought the rift and gotten to level 70) should be available after a certain amount of time. I don't think this is the kind of game where status items really exist, so it's not something anyone will feel any great loss over if they're reintroduced after a few months to a years time.
-
Take a break for a while and see how you feel.
Whenever I get burned out but still feel like playing, I change up my playstyle. What I mean by that is that I run perks I never use before, or try sensory depravation (like listening to music while I play), or just do silly bs. The ranking system sucks at the end of the day, so forcing yourself to let go of it kind of takes a weight off and lets you enjoy the game in a different way. Just what I do.
-
Honestly after Kill-All, they can do anything. The killer's playstyle is neat, but the whole anime kpop thing is super cringe and doesn't match the vibe of the rest of the game. What would more anime do at this point? lol
-
I don't really understand the logic behind some of the changes, but the bulk of the problems I've noticed come down to textures. The meshes themselves are generally the same shapes, or similar. But the textures make a huge difference, like we saw with David's rework between reveal and launch.
I don't mind the new ones for the characters I like and play as, so it's no skin off my nose. RIP to everyone else though.
-
You get used to it. Everyone tends to play like jerks these days so I just play the way that I want to and hope that I get to have a few good matches in the meantime.
@Psycho_ said:
I don't think my solo experience was bad... It's more how wildly imbalanced perks work with each other to give advantages encouraging poor gameplay. That can probably be said about both sides however.
I also noticed that a lot of new killer powers, just negate chase which is the only fun thing about survivor. I don't feel outplayed when I get hit through a vault/over a pallet.
It seems like these are the killers that get played the most.
I've noticed that too. Most of the killers we've been getting have some long-range ability or a speed boost ability. Most of the time, chases aren't even worth it because you're penalized for going for it. I still try my best, but it's rare that I get a chase to last more than 10 seconds lol
-
I don't mind it, but I think it'd be nifty if killers staggered while holding a survivor and dropping from that height too. Maybe just a little boost to the struggle meter.
-
I win as long as I get to play the game and have fun. I only care about escaping if I have a challenge.
The best matches I have are the ones where the killer and survivors work together to gain a bunch of points and get a lot done. The worst matches are the ones where the other survivors gen rush and open the gate or the killer gets really aggressive and I leave with around 6k bp. Just let me play the damn game! lol
-
They should have a weekend where they ban all of the most frequently used perks just to see how players adapt. I would like that lol
