These sorts of tactics are getting so common that there's no real reason most of the time, as far as I've noticed.

The head I have on her (High-Pitched Dreads from Karaoke Time) doesn't have any makeup anymore so it looks a little odd. But it's the only one I actually like. But I don't like it as much as the old one because of that. š

i guess i can understand if a killer has done everything correctly, get in chases, down survivors, hook and still get denied 4k intentionally they can be upset.
I dont think it is okay to DC for a friend to escape but DC penalty should be enough. I have never seen it happen in game myself but i only do solo q so maybe with SWF it is more common?
DCing is typically annoying for everyone, but it's ultimately their choice to waste their time like that. Everyone left in the match before it ends keeps their points and gets a bonus when someone quits like that as compensation, which isn't a whole lot but it's at least something.
I get being frustrated about it, but I think people are expecting too much beyond what's already in place.

I think the bandanna is rad, and I bought that with some shards I had lying around. The rest of the Greek Legends Jeff outfit, I can't defend though. Just a rust colored leather jacket, as if we need more jackets.
I yearn for a Jeff outfit that references the Big Lebowski, like a bathrobe with some slippers.
The headband is alright, yeah. I wanna like the jacket but I can't see it meshing with anything else he has. And it looks too silly too lol

I'm too biased against RPD to answer to that fairly.
Midwich is always fun as an SH fan, but there's too many long stretches of space without as much to work with. In all honesty, Alchemilla Hospital would've been a better choice. Shorter and wider hallways with a bit more map diversity (but not much). Or maybe Nowhere, which is basically Alchemilla+.
Gideon used to be horrible. I still don't love it now, but it's definitely better and easier to navigate.
Hawkins is essentially Lery's 2. Nothing too spectacular one way or the other.
Badham and Haddonfield are similar as well imo. My main problem with Haddonfield is that it looks like crap and isn't that accurate to the movie. It's lacking a lot of interesting spots from it as well. I know the Myers house isn't on the same street as Tommy and Lindsay's houses, but why not add them? We already have a van and a patrol car that I assume are meant to be Bob's van and Brackett's cruiser.

-
I think it's balanced as is. There's a lot of perks you can run as survivor to help when it comes to hooks too, like Breakdown, Boil Over, Flip-Flop, etc.
Being able to break hooks for longer as is would be fun, but it would also blow for the killer and there's no real reason to at the end of the day.

I was about to come make a post about this as well. I couldn't exactly tell what was different but it felt like her face was chubbier, less sleek/slender, basically it got uglier. I guess all the ugly Quention and Nea had was spread out between other survivors. I guess both Jill AND Claire look like crap now.
Maybe it's just me, but Claire's face looks a bit nicer imo. Either that or she looks the same as she did before and I'm mistaken.
But Jill has some crazy jowls going on lol Like really bad age lines.
-
Iron Will doesn't prevent scratches or bleeding and it doesn't protect the player from exposing themselves later down the line.
-
I was curious what it'd be, but I really dislike the design. In true form, none of the pieces look good on their own and with how much of a stink they made about creating cosmetics for Dwight that are out of character, I can't actually see Jeff wearing any of it.
-
I've always loved David's Debt Collector outfit and after a while of window shopping it, I finally bought it as a birthday gift to myself. It's one of the sets you have to buy with auric cells. I was playing primarily with it, but the new head makes his hair a much lighter red, almost like a strawberry blonde. I can probably get used to it, but I wish they would've made the color more faithful considering it was something I had to pay for and it's one of my favorite cosmetics in the game.

This is the Anniversary Head. It should be gold-blonde btw.

His hair looks really wet/oily and like it is stuck to the head.
All on Ultra settings.
David's hair is still blonde. It's just that the lobby lighting adds a pale blue rimlight to survivors and the lighter texture absorbs it like a sponge, making it look silvery gray.
That being said however, his red hair now looks more like a strawberry blonde. It's a lot lighter than it used to be.
EDIT: I didn't mention it either, but his hand wraps are gone on the tank tops now. Not sure how I feel about it.
-
This has happened to me a couple times, but thankfully not often. Someone telling the killer to hook me like we've planned something lol I usually try my best to communicate that that's not the case.
-
I won't ask him to be nerfed, but I will ask them to delete him because he's gross š
-
There was a lot of this during the anniversary event. We'd all burn cakes and then the killer would speedrun the match and make sure all 5 of us got hardly any points. I was so confused by that. Why sweat when we all stand to get a ton of points?
I try not to get tilted, but it's hard not to get frustrated when killers get so aggressive that they're making the match unfun for everybody. Or when they tunnel one of us like it's a fight to the death when we've managed to finish one gen. I sympathize with killers experiencing the same on their end.
I see people make a lot of excuses about how they "have" to play on either side, but no one is forcing you to play in a way that makes the game unfun for anyone else.
-
I get red rank survivors in my team every now and then, but it's more common that I get a red rank killer. Purple rank killers are really common too though.
-
As a fan, I adapted to the map instantly and know where to find everything much easier than any other map.
But I agree that it's not a good map for DBD and people who aren't as well-acquainted as me have a ton of trouble for good reason. RE maps are always built to be maze-like. Granted, this map is waaaaay more open than the old RPD design from the original games, but still.
-
It's just a plot element from RE. Jill uses and obtains the vaccine in RE3, so it's what's used for Nemesis' gameplay.
-
I already got it with SH and RE, but not the way I would've liked it. Still, I'm glad we got them.
-
The controls with that get really annoying. I've tried remapping but it's too weird, so I've altered the way I play instead.
-
I like the map, but only because I'm so used to it.
But it really seems like they enjoy making new content that runs contrary to the gameplay that already exists. It already feels like looping is becoming a dated mechanic, especially with the new killers that seem to punish it. Then maps like this and Midwich that end up being awkward to play, regardless of how cool they are.

You have to consider how childish this community is & you'll end up with half the community having the other half blocked for asinine reasons.
That'll just affect them matching with others. They'll be a lot lonelier, but that's something they can choose to keep or to rectify by going over the block list.

No, Survivors should not get a free escape at EGC, and no, it's not like the bullshit term 'facecamping'.
See, 'facecamping', 'camping', and 'proxy camping' are stupid phrases the Survivor mains invented so they could shame Killers into not doing them. Survivors believe they are entitled to every single unhook, and so they try to invent insipid rules and use peer pressure to force Killers to play they way they want Killers to play; badly.
As far as I'm aware, facecamping meant the killer was standing so close to the hook that survivors were unable to unhook their teammates. Obviously that can't happen anymore, but how was that a bullshit term? lol It's accurate to what was happening.
You sound exactly like the whiny survivors you always complain about. Biased to the point of delusion.

No Mither, Resilience (put the wrong perk before lol), Unbreakable, Iron Will
This is my go-to for David. It's fun not having to worry about healing and having those buffs at all times (never make any noise, perform every action quicker, recover from the dying state faster and always pick yourself up). I haven't ran it for a while since he's my only tier III 50 with as many perks as he has. So I've been running a decent unhook build, which is:
We're Gonna Live Forever, We'll Make It, Borrowed Time, Botany Knowledge/Leader
Earn points while helping others. BT buffs WGLF so you max it faster, while WMI+BK allows you to heal survivors quickly if killer isn't around. Using Leader instead of BK allows the unhooked survivor to heal you faster if you're injured, but it also allows another survivor to heal faster as well if they beat you to the hook and WMI didn't activate.
You can also pair certain perks together to do whatever you need at the time. For instance, I had a decent anti-Doctor build on Dwight for a while for fun:
Prove Thyself, Leader, Calm Spirit, Technician
I had two of his base perks since I always keep at least one unique perk on each character (and because I didn't have any others available to buff the other two), while Calm Spirit made it to where Doctor's charges wouldn't make me scream and Technician prevented the gen from exploding if I missed the Overcharge skill check.

Like I said, the good people will always suffer from the people with bad intentions. That's life nowadays.
Sure, but I think it's being blown out of proportion at the same time. This thread is making it sound like everyone was silencing music and highlighting traps (which Small Game already did prior to a couple months ago), when in reality most people don't go through the effort it takes to mod the game, and those who do largely use mods from gamebanana or the discord server. There's a lot of assuming the worst of modders for some odd reason.
-
The timer activates once a gen is completed and it pauses if you're in the dying or hooked state. You also can't escape while the timer is active or else you'll die.
The puzzle box that removes the trap is random, so sometimes you will die before you can remove it. I used to get Pigs that had mercy and let the survivors with the traps run around the match while they focused on the others, but I keep getting ones lately that chase and down survivors after the timer activates to eat up time and force the trap to activate.
All you can do is hope that the Pig you end up with won't mess with you while you're trying to remove the trap or if they do, you get lucky and get it off anyway.
-
That's happened to me a couple times. Teammates blocking me in lockers or communicating to the killer that they want me to get hooked lol
The only thing you can do is play dirty in return or just ignore them and do your own thing the rest of the match.

Modifying chase music can actually give an advantage though. The devs have stated that chase music is setup to also be part of the balance of the game.
Fair enough, but I haven't seen anything designed to break the game where most of the modding happens. It's always people just trying to be creative and have fun, which is why it's a bummer.

Any attack that deals dmg causes the hitbox to disappear for abit. As someone else pointed out, Myer's stalking also does the same thing so Myers cant block ya and stalk ya dry.
That's really helpful to know too. I only recently learned the trick about sliding through the killer after pulling off a pallet stun too. It helped big time one game to save one of my teammates.

I prefer to play stealthy too, so I would also recommend Windows if you suck at looping. However, I would also add IW and Q&Q to the deal. I've lost a LOT of killers just because Q&Q proc'd at exactly the right time.
Fixated is another good addition to that.

Could be worse. At least its just 1 smack before ya learn for the rest of the match rather than an instadown or something. Plague can continue bodyblocking even when puking on ya, or ya got Huntress who can do a closerange hatchet+melee to down ya pretty quick if she catches ya in a corner. I dont think I have to explain what would happen if someone like Bubba or Billy catches ya in a corner, lol.
Thankfully it's only been Wraith and Bubba so far. It explains why I didn't know about the hitbox disappearing since Bubba always does my favorite attack when I'm cornered lmao

Once you know you're against a Wraith, you should really be actively avoiding getting in a corner to begin with. Usually at gens, theres multiple spots that you can work on them. Try to position yourself in a more defensive location so you'll be able to protect yourself if the killer shows up. This is really a good thing to think about for ANY killer really. If your against a Huntress for example, picking a spot where a wall can protect ya from long range hatchets would be wise for example as opposed to a spot next to an open doorway.
Bodyblocking as Wraith to setup for a hit though is pretty basic stuff. Its normal for them to try to get infront of you while cloaked in order to block off your route to a window or something, otherwise the power would be almost useless once a chase actually starts.
It's always at the beginning of the match in a risky spot. I actively avoid those areas once I know who it is lol
Yeah, that sort of stuff is perfectly reasonable to me. It's something that has some counterplay to it too depending on how he blocks them.
-
Ugh, a killer wasn't toxic for once. jk lmao
One time I went against a Freddy on Hawkins and unbeknownst to any of us, he'd built a really solid endgame build. He'd hooked two of us. Me and the other survivor went ahead and tried to save them, but he had NOED so we booked it. When we opened the gate, he had Blood Warden so he left them and slugged us lol I'd never played against BW before that, so I was completely stunned.
The two survivors yelled at us post-game too, so they didn't know about it either I'm guessing. šµ

This will sound stupid, but Spine Chill makes me really paranoid. Every time it lights up I want to run away from what Iām doing.
It's spooky but over time, you'll be able to predict when the killer's heading in your direction so it won't be as necessary. Or if you do use it, you'll know the best time to pay attention to it.

Like this is all genuinely true, I guess my big thing is I don't sink too long into my dbd sessions in the first place. I get off work late and play for two hours at the longest.
Say I play three survivor games, I have to queue for at least five minutes each cause matchmaking sucks. I get in the first game and start playing, killer hooks someone and kindred shows us all he face camps. Great, we all do gens since none of us have BT. Repeat until all four are dead because by the time theres two the other person is hiding while I play cat and mouse with the killer.
Next game say we get a decent killer that doesn't camp. Someone gets hooked and I go to save them cause I have Deliverance and wanna use it. I unhook and killer comes back, get caught in a dead zone, and hooked. My team mates leave me until second stage and unhook me after; killer hooks me again.
Third game say the killer is decent again. I decide to do gens in my lane and save if I am close, maybe they hook one or two people. Finally they find me and I actually run okay, maybe get a pallet stun. Eventually I get downed cause I am inexperienced and suddenly I am getting BM'd on the hook cause I tried to not die?
In all of these situations I have no clue what I have done wrong besides lose a single chase in a match, and I face the fullest consequences. Thirty minutes AT LEAST of my life is gone when I could have played my favorite killers for two games and probably would have felt better even if I choked. Low tier survivor is just so disgustingly trash ridden.
It's not just low-tier. It's an increasing problem with killers becoming more aggressive. I will say however that lower rank survivors do tend to act less often than higher ranks. They're more easily frightened and don't fully understand survivor mechanics yet. Once you get a bit higher, you start running into survivors that are less afraid, but still panic after unhook and won't take any protection hits or heal. Or my favorite, the ones that pull you across the map to heal you and bring you right back to the killer as they run off lol
I guess my best advice would be to play the killer matches you enjoy so you're not stressing yourself out after work. Save survivor for a day where you have time to burn and rank up a bit more. It can get really bad playing a role you don't want, especially on limited time.
-
It sucks if they do. I was working on a full text mod for the Resident Evil and Silent Hill chapters to make them more immersive and true to the games. People were doing great mods to build immersion with cosmetic modifications and music mods from killers' respective IPs (like getting chased to this music).
If anyone was modifying the game to make things easier, that's obviously not good. But it was a way for us to be creative and fix things that are never going to see change in any official capacity. I think it's a copout to say people were only doing it to cheat.

Who was a jerk? If a killer bodyblocked ya in time for a hit right after...thats fair game. If they held ya there for long periods of time...abit different. I dont see how being able to phase through the killer after they smack ya somehow makes them a jerk, let alone more so.
I've been trapped for a while by Wraiths, but it's not very common. If they're in a chase and loop around and block a doorway or a pallet or something, that's different. But I think it's cheap to stealth in and block someone in a corner where they can't move for a hit imo. Not saying it's against the rules or anything, but it's a jerk move.
-
In my experience, it starts being fun when you accept things the way that they are. The game is full of tunnelers, campers, sluggers, and killers that speedrun the match. Then of course other survivors that will quickly abandon you whenever you need help. That won't be every match, but sometimes it'll be every other match. When you stop expecting things to go your way and you start learning the patterns, you can start to survive for longer and enjoy the game despite what's happening.
When it gets to be too much, take a break. I can't emphasize that enough. Since you play both killer and survivor, maybe playing killer for a bit can help too.
Also, anyone that says you deserve to get pulled out of the game just for playing is being salty.
-

You lose collision when you get hit, so even if the Wraith doesnt move after hitting you...you can run right through him. This is the same for all killers.
I realized that might've been the case after I wrote it. Just makes them seem like more of a jerk with that in mind lol

Why the hate on Capcom? Capcom has one of the most successful online franchises, Monster Hunter.
Maybe with MH, but they follow a pattern with Resident Evil. They supported Outbreak for a while and RE5 had a pretty balanced release. You could also argue that Operation Raccoon City didn't need too much support post-release. But Revelations, Revelations 2, and RE6 have been on loop with the same old RE.net events for years without very much new content post-release. People still play Raid Mode/Mercs/Survivor/Versus/Onslaught, but there's no new content to keep them going. RE:2 was left hung to dry pretty early, and then RE:sistance was given a lackluster launch alongside RE:3 and it didn't take long after release for them to stop doing anything with it. Now they're working out the kinks with RE:verse and it'll likely be a lot of the same. A couple months of content (if that) and then nothing.
I love Resident Evil so I'm happy to be proven wrong, but that hasn't happened yet.
-
I'm pretty sure it was changed to be an anti-key perk.
