  • Pretty sure it's been implemented already. Everytime I face an AFK survivor they DC after a while.

  • Being able to avoid traps set too close to windows has always been a thing, it's just that now the distance has changed. You need to force yourself to set them a bit further than you're used to until it becomes a habit and it won't be an issue anymore.

However, I'm curious because you specified "male survivor", does that mean it's different with female survivors ? If that's the case then surely something is not working properly

  • I agree more servers are needed, but BHVR shouldn't make swings that shouldn't hit successful on purpose just so people with high ping have a better shot at winning. Playing against people with high ping is painful enough as it is, even if it's not their fault.

  • I always swing too early when I play him (even more so when I haven't in a while), his lunge feels shorter idk if it's because of the pov or what else though

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

It doesn't give any explicit notification but you still see a Survivor enter the dying state so it's pretty obvious.

Yes, they know when I use the perk but I'm confused as to how they seem to know where I use the perk.

The first couple times I chalked it up to them having good game sense bc I was either near them or near where they last saw me, but the third time I purposely went to a random spot but the killer still came straight for me with no hesitation (and no aura perks)

  • I went against a survivor who bugged out and DCed at the beginning of the game. Once the bot who replaced them was down and on death hook the other three teammates appeared and tried to take hits, flashlight save and sabo the hook even though they didn't do any of those things for the real players for the entire game, it was really funny and weirdly heartwarming. I would have totally spared the bot if it wasn't for the event tome challenge.

Other than this particular experience, usually survivors treat the bot like a normal (bad) teammate. As survivor I have been lucky enough to not get a bot teammate yet.

  • I was genuinely so surprised when I logged in lol. I wasn't going to care much about the event but Jake cosmetics are rare enough I'm not going to risk missing one

I don't get it if you repair 95% of a gen and someone else finish the 5% you get nothing ?

    Yes exactly

  • Honestly same. I only play survivor when there's a +100% BP bonus incentive.

You can run the killer for most of the game or do all the gens and whatnot and you'll escape with 16k BPs, so why bother when you can play killer and still get at least 20K even when you get absolutely stomped ?

  • it feels fine for me, I only played killer but I got way less hits over windows I would have gotten (but shouldn't have) before the update.

However, and maybe it's totally unrelated, but I hit a Nea while she vaulted and we both got stuck there. I was unstuck when she DCed and the hit turned into a grab, it was weird.

  • If I could delete a killer from the game I'd pick Wraith no joke. Send me all the SM if you want, as long as I don't get bing bong boy I'm happy

  • I'm so happy it's Alien !! Kinda terrified because I despise stealth killers but super excited nonetheless !! If I'm gonna suffer against stealth killers it might as well be a really cool iconic one

Edit: Also, assuming the new map is a new map and not just trailer material it looks really cool and reminds me of Hawkins map which I loved and miss deeply, so I'm super excited about that as well

  • I don't think anyone likes teammates like that lol, but you can report them for working with the killer

What if we get them as killers though? What if Keanu Reeves's mori is him grabbing you by the neck, sucking out your youth and throwing you away while saying "YOUR BREATH TAKING".

I'd be all for killer celebs tbh, being hunted down by Nicki Minaj sounds absolutely hilarious to me, but I have a really hard time picturing it happening.

  • Honestly my only problem with celebs being added is that we'd get a bunch of half chapters with only a survivor in it

  • I'm pretty sure when you're afk too long it disconnects you automatically. I've noticed in my killer games when a survivor is AFK they suddenly DC after a while. I guess it's been implemented as a measure against AFK players a while ago.

So if you make a build to work around it? You need MFT, Iron Will, Resilience, and probably something else.

Yep, No Mither + MFT + Resilience + DH is good, Iron Will doesn't stack with No Mither so it'd be useless though

  • Epic, and crossplay stays on.

I really don't see any reason to turn it off and have yet to see someone do it for a reason other than weird platform elitism

How does one properly use No Mither? Please, educate us.

If you're confident (and good) enough to stay injured using No Mither has basically no downsides. If you look at the current meta it's really not rare to see survivors stay injured the entire game, so you might as well bring no mither if you feel like it.

And it's also really good in anti-hook swf that are somewhat competent.

  • I ignore them until the crows spawn and then i hook them because it's too annoying.

If I'm playing trapper I put a trap right in front of them so i get notified when they come back and inevitably step on it (I don't down them or pick them up though, it's really just to know if i'm playing against 3 or 4 people)

Do you even know how to play ? Anotehr surv main... you will soon tell me that MFT is a bad perk 😂

Edit : mate i have found your account on steam, you have never been Iridiscent 1 as a survivor or as a killer in 1500h... well i'm off this forum, most ppl reacting do not even know how to play the game properly, it is tiring.

lol if you think iri 1 is anything more than an indication of how much one plays in a month I'm afraid I'm not the one who doesn't know how the game works. But if you must know I just don't play much because killer is so easy i get bored after 3 games and solo q is frustrating enough I haven't played survivor in weeks, and I simply do not care enough about a random fictional game achievement to take this game seriously.

Anyways this "busted combination" is nothing more than a cute build for a perk showcase video. Fixated doesn't bring anything more than it does to other exhaustion perks, meaning barely anything. Same thing for Vigil, it's always been a pretty nice perk but it's not worth wasting a perk slot on it if you're in solo queue, and it actually saves less time with Smash Hit than it does with any other exhaustion perk. Btw Aryun is wrong Smash Hit + Vigil isn't 14s it's about 15.5s, so you're literally wasting a perk slot for less than 5 seconds you don't even need to save. People rarely use Vigil for 40s of exhaustion to begin with, so using it for 20s is plain silly.

Ayrun would literally have gotten the same results using Smash Hit only, so if you're going to complain just say the buff was too strong because you get stunned every 20 seconds instead of making up a "toxic combo" (because of course everything that's somewhat good is toxic, as we have come to learn on this forum)

And no, I don't think Made for this is a bad perk.

(Also, don't believe everything you read on the internet, a clickbait title isn't factual and neither is a steam account I haven't used for DBD in months)

    Edit: Typo

  • Ah yes, using three perks that only give you value if you get a stun, how "toxic"

  • If MMR sucks enough to put you up against people who have played 8x longer than you I don't think switching to a new killer would be of any help tbh.

At first you'd be matched against weaker survivors but you'd destroy them and would very quickly face the same issue again, so you might as well just play killers you like tbh

Edit: also, playing killer when the BP incentives are for the killer side greatly increase your chances of being matched against people out of your MMR because there aren't enough killers logged in, and usually it'll be people stronger than you because there's more veterans than newbies. Also, in my experience playing late at night is when there's only sweaty players left.

ah non c'es bon jai compris ! merci beaucoup tu me sauve la vie en plus ta trop bien expliquer ^^

    Parfait! Contente d'avoir pu t'aider :)

  • I don't really pay attention but I have a tendency to sacrifice myself for the team so probably not.

I don't think I'm too far off though, and I'm gonna take a not so wild guess and assume solo q escape rates are lower than 40%, so everything's normal for me ig.

  • I admire the work you put into this suggestion but I just don't think it would be viable.

Killers wouldn't want to be punished for doing their objectives so slugging would become meta, and not only everyone hates slugging but BHVR hasn't been able to come up with a solution for it.

And survivors wouldn't want to be punished for doing their objectives either and it would lead to a weird strategy of 99ing gens and popping them all at once to bypass the speed penalty. Obviously this would be much easier to put in place with communications, so it would also significantly increase the gap between solo q & swf.

Finally, even without these problems the idea of a mechanic giving your opponent(s) a buff or giving yourself a nerf by advancing your objectives doesn't sound like a good idea at all.

An other much simpler and probably more viable approach would be to just put a cap on how fast generators can be done, and how fast/much they can regress.

    I need to report them.

You can report players in the post-game screen by using the option I circled in blue here:

How would you like a game update every time you logged in? No? Me neither. That's what PTB is for.

I'm obviously not saying we should test everything in live game. Only the big changes that PTB wouldn't be suited to give feedback about. Like no-Bloodlust was tested live because there's no MMR in PTB so even if people played seriously the statistics wouldn't have reflected the ones obtained from live game.

It would be the same thing for DCs, there's already no penalty for it in PTB so you can't actually test it there, and PTB doesn't have any impact on your live game account so it's not like you'd even miss out on your game rewards or whatever.

  • I agree, he's really not that bad of a killer at all when someone actually learns how to use him.

I would love to learn how to play him, but I don't think I'm cut out for it lol I really tried for a bit but it feels like there's so much stuff you need to manage and im a mess and don't know what I'm doing half the time..

It's a shame the majority of singularities I see are just using his power to camp and/or 3 gen, I went against a couple ones who were actually good and it was so much fun, so thank you to anyone with the patience and skills to master him so I can have fun games !

At least Singularity made me want to try and learn Dredge again, which felt much easier after struggling on Singularity for a few days. Maybe I'll learn Singularity when an even more complicated killer comes around lol

Everyone seems to think what their opinion on DC penalty removal from both sides is correct (no one is changing anyone's mind form what I have noticed) but no one really truly knows what would happen. They can only assume and speculate. I think after this next update and a month has passed, BHVR should remove DC for a period of time - like a week or two, nothing crazy. Then see what happens. I'm honestly mixed on it because I really don't know what will happen and I can see where both sides are coming from. Lets do a trial run of it.

When I played PTB, DC penalty is removed (it's like that for all PTBs) and I didn't even noticed someone DC'd and a bot was playing until the end. I will say bots are a lot better than they were when first introduced.

I'm all for these experiments, like that time they deleted Bloodlust for a week (or weekend I can't remember exactly). Tbh big changes should be tested live rather than be confined to the PTB, which doesn't represent the live game accurately for many reasons.

  • I disagree with every argument you listed in favor of removing the DC penalty, but unless you want me to detail my thoughts I'll just stick with one point everyone seems to ignore in the "bots are introduced so we should consider deleting the DC penalty" debate:

Killers aren't getting replaced by bots.

Even if you think survivors should be allowed to DC for free because they're getting replaced by bots, killers won't be, and killers DCs don't "just" ruin the game, it literally ends it. Remove the DC penalty and survivors will never make it through the exit gates because killers would just DC when they lose. 2 gens done before first hook ? DC. Flashlight save ? DC. No time to stop survivors from opening the gates ? DC.

(and even if people were trying to get the DC penalty removed for survivors only it would still be a terrible idea in my opinion)

Will do. I really didn't think about checking the perks. I will from now on. Being able to develop a strategy against such things would be good instead of getting demolished. As for the possibility of cheating I will keep an eye out for that too. The possibility hadn't really occurred to me as I chalked the whole thing up to the killer being really good and me being really bad.

Yeah that's okay! It's an habit to take, mostly as survivor where you just have the reflex to leave the game instead of waiting for it to end, it's a bit annoying but it's really worth it to get better! And same, I never suspect cheating unless it's very obvious lol, I wouldn't have thought of it in this situation either tbh

  • Could have been a cheater or could have been info perks, Lethal + BBQ or/and Floods of rage could explain what's happening here, but you should probably develop the habit of checking your opponents' perks, at least when you don't understand how they're doing something. If you had checked his perks and add-ons after the first game you could have understood what the killer was doing and learned from your mistakes instead of losing two more games.

Unless a killer is much better than you (or you get really unlucky teammate wise) they really shouldn't be stomping you with the same build & strategy three times in a row, and I'm going to assume they weren't out of your league MMR wise because it would make it very unlikely to match you together three times.

Anyways, if you see them again make sure to check what they brought, and report them for suspicion of cheating if they don't have any info perks or add-ons.

Edit: also, info perks aren't an easy mode, they give you information for you to act upon, if someone is bad at chasing knowing where survivors are won't make them any better.

Killers want to win too and use various tactics to do so. But camping and tunneling is very toxic and unpleasant, as is playing from the triangle. I'd be happy if these things were removed from the game, but you can't do that without removing genrush from the game completely. At high mmp I very rarely encounter solo survivors and of course in that case I spend the game quietly and without toxic stuff. Too many survivors play in packs and genrush, if killers stop tunneling and camping they will just have a winrate of 10%. Bhvr are against camping and tunneling, but you have to realize that killers do it for a reason. You can't just remove genrush and leave tunneling and camping, because some killers will still use it. Likewise, you can't remove tunneling and camping from the game without removing the genrush, otherwise survivors will destroy killers. It is necessary to remove both genrush and tunneling and camping. Only then will the game finally have 90% less toxic behavior, sweaty matches and tedious strategies. You can remove genrush by making the minimum time to repair the generator 70-80 seconds, even if the survivors have all perks for genrush. You can remove tunneling and camping by inventing different penalties for these actions. It is also possible to weaken S tir killers as they are aimed at fighting genrash and without genrash will not be needed so strong. This is my opinion, but it is not unfounded. I play a lot of high mmr and know what I'm talking about. When you play 20 games in a row and the game script doesn't change, continuing to be toxic and annoying, it gets annoying. 17/20 games - camping + tunneling in response to genrush + tea bagging.

Camping and tunneling are many things from boring to very annoying but toxic isn't one of them.

You have no way of knowing if you're at high MMR or if your opponents are solo survivors or swf, but i'm going to assume you're in average MMR and rarely going against 4ppl swf because they're the rarest combination and if you were actually in MMR high enough there's only 4ppl swf you wouldn't complain about it because you'd be crushing solo q survivors.

"if killers stop tunneling and camping they will just have a winrate of 10%" that's an exaggeration but I agree kill rates are inflated by those behaviors. The funny thing is if killers stopped doing those things kill rates would drop and the killers who need it would be buffed. Nerfing "genrush" or swf wouldn't fix the problem at all, it'd just give free wins to killers who don't deserve it.

BHVR aren't against camping and tunneling. They're against facecamping but otherwise have said countless times that they're legitimate strategies.

Anyways, we're never going to agree if you think it's normal to argue that gens shouldn't take less than 70-80s to complete so you can easily win against better players than you, so I'll just be on my way.

  • These are actually pretty good !

For the first one I've got a couple suggestions: Reduce the effect to 10/20/30% and make it apply every time a survivor is unhooked for the first time (so you can get value up to 4 times instead of just once). The effect would still be strong but counterable if survivors pay attention.

I have nothing to nitpick about the Hex perk, it seems very well balanced and I think it would be a really fun perk.

I want to enjoy the game. Both as a solo survivor and as a killer. But killers tunnel and camp and I myself have to, as I prefer to win and not see survivors in the gate. Playing in the usual scenario against a party of survivors I face my absolute helplessness, as I just genrashat and I at most make -1 trying hard. That's why ONLY tunneling and camping works against party survivors and 9/10 games I have against them. And for a survivor I also face tunneling because very few people play for solo survivors at high mmp. Genrash ruins the game for both killer and all survivors....

I really don't mean to sound rude but I highly doubt you're going against 4ppl swf 9 games out of 10. Also, killers camp and tunnel regardless of MMR and it's kinda weird that you believe they only do it at high MMR because there's only swf while also believing you're in high MMR as a solo survivor. Solo survivors in high MMR is really not that uncommon, neither is facecamping and tunneling in low MMR.

And again, killers wouldn't stop tunneling if swf stopped existing, especially in high MMR where it's just people playing sweaty on both sides and it would remain the most efficient strategy.

(also I'm not surprised you made an entire post suggesting we delete swf because tunneling is bad only to blame genrush for everything, surely killers have no part of responsibility for how they behave and it's all the survivors' fault)

  • @loki1337 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3486819#Comment_3486819

You're suggesting we don't play to win. In that case, you can at least stand afk, but most people play to win. So everything I said above makes sense

That's a silly argument. Everyone plays to win, but not everyone would sacrifice their fun to do so. I try my best to win but I'd rather lose a game fair and square instead of doing things I find boring and unfun to ensure I win. I can do gens efficiently without bringing a BNP, I can play killer at the best of my abilities without tunneling at 5gens, and I don't feel the need to bring meta builds to give me better chances.

Lile, either you just want to win in which case complaining about "but I don't want to sweat to win" is silly and what you're asking for is basically being able to consistently win without effort, aka you just want easy wins and you shouldn't be playing a multiplayer game, or you'd rather enjoy your games in which case absolutely no one is forcing you to sweat beyond what you find fun to secure a win.

  • It's normal to encounter better teams in high MMR, no one is forcing killers to camp & tunnel in retaliation and it's normal that survivors encounter sweaty killers in high MMR too (SWF or not).

If you don't like those strategies don't use them, if you want to win go ahead but don't complain about having to sweat because having to sweat to win in high MMR is normal in every game ever, against people with comms or not.

SWF aren't forcing you to use those strategies, if you played normally and lost against them you wouldn't encounter them half as much. You decide to tunnel and camp because you'd rather win most games and keep going up in MMR (and having to sweat even more) than just play as you like.

Also the answer to the "SWF are too strong in comparison to solo q" problem is to buff solo q to lessen the gap between them, not to forbid people from playing with their friends.

Finally, 4ppl SWF are the least common survivor combination killers encounter and the majority of killers would not stop camping and tunneling if they didn't exist anymore. They would only stop doing that if there was an even easier way to win.

Killers don't go against 4ppl organized swf nearly as much as they say they do, it's just the boogeyman they blame for losing and use an an excuse to use the "nasty" strategies. Take swfs away and they'll just blame something else.

  • I didn't see that. I really don't mind not getting exclusive cosmetics but I was really hoping we'd get a premium rift pass again :'(

It's still free stuff so I don't want to complain, but unless they at least double the amount of BPs it's going to go from "at least it's free" territory to "forgetting and not bothering redeeming the code over half the time" territory

  • I'm not going to enter the MFT debate but using Knight as an example when you can indefinitely loop his buddies around a rock without any haste effect is probably not the best argument there is.

  • I'm all for removing hatch related perks and items so survivors don't set escaping through the hatch as a goal or consider it a win, but removing the hatch altogether would be a terrible idea unless you've got a grand idea that would fix the issues that @Seraphor mentioned, and on top of them I'd add that slugging for the 4k would also be even worse because the killer would know the last survivor will open the gates as soon as they pick up the downed survivor

Also, the only problematic camping on hatch there is are killers waiting on it. This means the survivor can't leave, they also can't open the gates or do anything but surrender because the killer is holding them hostage. If a survivor is waiting on hatch, you can just make them leave and it's a non-issue.

  • People are already lobby shopping way too much. Playing with friends would mean you're only playing against very sweaty killers, so only sweaty swf would remain and the rest would just stop playing. Also, this would mess up MMR & queue time big time for literally everyone, so not to be dramatic but I think this would actually have a shot at killing the game.

  • As survivor I've been messing with Fixated + Lightweight, it's been quite fun and surprisingly useful.

  • Comme dit au dessus, il suffit de tourner la souris! Pour que ça soit plus facile je te conseille d'augmenter la sensibilité dans les réglages ^^

  • I'll try to reply to each of you points:

Bots comes without a removal of the disconnect penalty which is too much of a punishment since you can be replaced

Bots are implemented because, as you said, the player who DCs ruins the game for everyone else. Why shouldn't they face any consequences because the devs are implementing something to try and fix the mess they made ?

Killing yourself on hook is an exploit which bypasses being replaced by a bot

So, hook suicide is an exploit (aka, bad and bannable) so we should allow those people (who do bad bannable things) to DC without any consequences ? I get wanting them to DC instead so they're replaced by a bot, but not punishing them for it seems silly. If anything, punishing hook suicide so people DC instead would be a better fix (although idk how that would be implemented). In any case, people can already suicide on hook instead of DCing and many of them don't, so it's not going to become more of an issue than it is now.

DCing while the game is loading is an exploit because you have agreed to see the game through and it leads to inconsistencies in the system

I'm not sure what conclusion we're supposed to get from this? I mean, yes DCing during the loading screen doesn't have a penalty and it's annoying, but I'm not sure how that's an argument in favor of deleting the DC penalty ? if anything, punishing people for DCing because people didn't bring offerings they like doesn't sound like a bad idea.

When one person DCs the rest can't DC without also facing a DC penalty

That's a good point, although with the implementation of bots this shouldn't be an issue anymore. However, what I find interesting here is that you understand that even with bots this wouldn't be so nice, because playing with / against bots isn't particularly fun. So I wonder, if you understand playing with & against bots isn't so great, why are you trying to get rid of the DC penalty, which would make the number of DCs (and bots) skyrocket ?

If people want to leave after they know they've lost the match, they should leave without any penalty

No, "I'm clearly losing so I DC" is basically a rage quit, no matter how late in the game it is. People who DC when they're about to lose are only doing so to prevent their opponent from getting something (BPs, perk effect, mori, event reward, achievement, daily or rift challenge, adept) and should be punished for it.

Also, you seem to forget a very important point: bots are only for survivors. If survivors should get free DCs because bots replace them, why should killers be allowed to do the same when their DC literally ends the game ?

Deleting the DC penalty would just subject players to have at least one bot per game and survivors would most likely see the end-game very rarely because killers could just DC when they realize they're losing.

Also, no one cares about pips or BPs enough for your suggestion to do the job. You think the penalties are too harsh but you're also aware of DCs being common, so I'm sure you can understand that it would be much worse with any lesser punishment.

  • Tbh I think Ghostface is fine. He isn't "just" a M1 killer with stealth, being able to expose survivors is kind of a big deal. I don't play him nearly as much as I play against him, and he's only easily beatable when the killer doesn't use his power, which a lot of ghostface players seem to do.

The only thing I think he needs is for the reveal mechanic to be made better or at least more consistent.

  • BNP team: I wouldn't know they have BNP until the endgame screen so I'd just play normally and go "ah that explains why gens went fast" at the end.

Full Meg team: In my experience I usually destroy them without even trying, take pity on them and let them go.

Full Claudette team: Can go two ways, either they'll stealth all game and it will be boring no matter what I do, or they'll just be an average team.

Full Jake team: I would be very happy to see fellow Jake mains. I would play normally with some occasional memeing and stop hooking them once everyone has been hooked twice.
