  • Survivor already get BPs when the killer DCs (on top of their game automatically being counted as an escape), as for killer bots I think it's in the plans but obviously they're much more difficult to make than survivor bots (who are all the same bot with the different skin), because their different powers means they need different strategies etc.

I think we'll get killer bots at some point but it's probably going to be a long while before that. Also, we'll surely get the bots in custom games but I'm not too sure we'd get them as DC bots, because a lot of players wouldn't want to play a pvp game against a computer (same reason people are asking for the game to end when the killer is against 4 DC bots)

  • DS nerf. It's only been downhill since.

  • It started with the meta shake-up. With the DS nerf there's no DS threat so there's no reason not to tunnel because turning a 4v1 in a 3v1 is the best strategy. On the other hand, killers basekit buff and survivor perks being nerfed meant chases were shorter so survivor need to do the gens quicker, so killers need to kill them quicker possible and in circles we go.

Every update since then has worsen the issues on both sides. Kinda stupid how the survivor meta rn is based around staying injured the entire game because even healing has become too much of a waste of time, while on the killer side taking one person out quickly has pratically become the norm.

  • I love how you think you're using this strategy "solely against" SM, Weskers & tunnelers as if it wasn't much more detrimental to your teammates than to the killers. You're literally making the game easier for those killers by giving up and making it much more difficult for random people by wasting their ressources on top of refusing to participate in normal gameplay (which is reportable btw) and refusing to take the DC penalty and let them have a bot (as terrible as they are, I'd much rather play with them than people like you).

  • If you have them unlocked but not other licenced characters they won't be there. I think when you have all characters it just defaults back to them (or keep showing them if you don't have them) because they were the first licence added to the game. I'm not sure it's intentional but it's a nice reminder of how far the game has come.

  • Weirdly enough, everytime I play Billy (and I'm terrible at it) survivors are always nice in post game chat and often point to the hook to give me kills in endgame, and when I tell them to leave they sometimes die to EGC anyway. It's also the same thing when I go against a baby Billy, I've never witnessed my teammates being toxic to them, and there's usually at least two of us pointing to a hook and offering them a sacrifice.

And this isn't just the case for Billy, in my experience survivors are almost always nice to baby killers, more so when they're learning a difficult killer, the only toxicity against baby killers I've seen was always against Nurse, and even then it's not rare for people to just say "nurse is hard you did well".

Also, it's my first time hearing about "Milly", but that's probably because I started playing after Billy got gutted.

  • I wish we'd get stats per server, because from what I hear Nurse is v popular in Asia server, Blight in EU & Wesker in 'merica. It also probably heavily depends on MMR, I assume the higher you are the less variety you see bc more people are strictly playing meta.

  • If you only play meta they're probably not worth getting, but if you like niche or fun builds I personnally think they're great and really like her perks.

You're probably gonna enjoy Chemical Trap if you enjoy stuff like Blast Mine, Head On, Flashbang...

Light-footed is one of my favorites, I'm a fixated & lightweight player and find it really fun to try and disappear mid-chase by literally just walking behind a nearby rock.

Finally, lucky star is pretty underwhelming and I hope it gets buffed but I think it still has its uses for locker players.

  • Lore wise the Entity's realm isn't the real places. It's just the entity making the realm look like places that tilts people (usually killers). For example the Clown's circus is next to the Crotus Prenn Asylum although it doesn't make sense. An other example is the shelter woods' map being changed to add stuff related to SM when she was added, or The Artist's map, which isn't even trying to represent something real.

Long story short, the entity just does stuff for shits and giggles. I believe Amanda did go into the bathroom in one of the movies, so you can justify it by that i guess.

You clearly didn't even bother reading my text because you skipped the part of the holding the game hostage on purpose and refusing to kill the survivors by any means. Have a nice day! :)

If you're on a gen she has no choice but to either down you, in which case you'll bleed out at some point, hook you, in which case you'll die, or let you do the gen, in which case you'll escape. If you refuse to engage in chases, don't wiggle and literally just do gens she'll be forced to advance the game one way or the other. It's still a pain, and I encourage you to report her in the post game screen, but at least you won't be stuck for 30minutes.

Also pro tip: your 1st DC has a 1min penalty and resets after 24h if you don't DC again, so use that information wisely ;)

  • Kill switch is for game breaking bugs, not turning off things you don't like. If you don't want to play against SM this bad, just hold M1 on a gen until she hooks you and move on to the next game.

  • haha yes I know that, but I have seen a few people claim they also said something about Js, it's very possible they're just spreading misinformation though, but honestly I don't care enough to go check the stream for myself lol, as I said even if it's true it's probably a stretch so it doesn't really matter either way

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

Where’d this come from? Alien’s not even out yet, why would they be teasing the next chapter already

I think I remember everyone assuming we would get Jason because during the anniversary stream they made a comment about having multiple Js or something like that when presenting the roadmap. it's very possible my memory is faulty though, and even if it's true the "J" in the Alien chapter is for the cat so I don't think we could guess that easily tbh.

  • I don't use filters yet but I'm gonna look into it because of vision issues that the accessibility don't cover and that not only make the game harder for me but also makes my eyes hurt if I play too long

  • Jason and Jack Torrence (the shining) are the only ones I can think of but I have a feeling I'm wrong

Some say that swf is cheating because it was not a part of the game originally.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3520494#Comment_3520494

Same for me. I don't have problems with anything in this game except with the new Autoheaven color palette. For me all survivors and killers who wear dark clothes disappear on this map. I can only see those killers via the red light. Good luck evading Pig and GF or killers with small TR.

I play since Sept. 2018 with over 6k hrs and I never used filters until a long time after they reworked autoheaven. I even waited for the colorblind settings but they didn't help either. So I started to use a slight filter only for that realm.

Exactly, I know I've always been at a disadvantage vision wise but I never felt the need to use accommodations until recent map reworks. I wish BHVR would implement a contrast or brightness slider, but I don't think it's gonna happen so filters seem like the best (and only) option

  • Unlucky streaks happen, sometimes I escape all my games and two days later I just get facecamped three games in a row and turn the game off.

Honestly, if it bothers you enough that you truly have no fun you should play killer instead or take a break from the game and come back when you feel like checking if things have changed.

  • Absolutely a failure and I'm glad about it because I wasn't about to spend more money on perks you can basically only use in a swf

  • @xerox8521 said:

Thing is Nancy, Steve and Demo are currently unpurchasable through the ingame store which makes it impossible for someone else to play as them unless they get the license back.

Yeah honestly it sucks :/ I'm sure even weird people who are like "why are you complaining about something you didn't buy ? You should have never had it because I paid for it" can sympathize with the fact that people literally couldn't buy the DLC.

it's just so backwards, now if I convince my brother to play I also have to make sure he doesn't actually give BHVR any money so he can have the character he liked (Demogorgon), how is that good for business I truly don't know.

  • Honestly I don't think it'll come back unless they do an other collab with PUBG (and even then I wouldn't bet on it)

  • In my opinion:

Flashlights: Feel balanced to me, I don't think they need changes.

Toolboxes: Currently too strong. Add-ons should be nerfed. Brown & yellow toolboxes need more charges basekit. Add-ons are kind of a mess. More sabo stuff please !

Medkits: Too boring, need a rework. Solo heal maybe needs a buff. Add-ons are just as boring.

Keys: Need a full rework because buffing aura reading would be a tad dangerous, green key needs deleting.

Maps: Need a buff both in use (make them see pallets & windows for eg) and in duration, or a full rework. Add-ons need to be reworked, the beacon one was literally only used to show the hatch to other survivors, why does it still exists?

Also, I think every item has too many add-ons for the sake of having add-ons. Lots of them are useless and they need to cleaned up.

  • I think the policy is stupid (someone who hasn't bought the game has access to more content than someone who did, so people who have a family share account have no reason to buy it), but it's a Steam policy, not BHVR's, and I'm pretty sure they can't do anything about it.

  • @Archael said:

Game was designed with coulours, brightness, and visibility in mind. Anything (including making game less dark) is cheating. Equipping dark clothes and hide in a bush is one of game aspects and those filters ruin it. Same for sounds.

And also. Allowing game to run with external programs is an invitation for even less "subtle" cheaters who also operates on external programs.

My opinion is extreme, i know it. But IMO, game should block ALL external programs while launched, including discord, swf should not exist, and game should be balanced against soloq.

Maybe in privat matches, with bot or invited killers, swf should exist along with other programs.

Obviously people changing those settings to gain an advantage are cheating, but many people use them because of the lack of accessibility options. Colorblind filters weren't introduced that long ago, would you say colorblind people who used external filters to color correct before that were cheating ?

I'm considering using filters because I have vision problems that the very few accessibility settings don't cover. I don't want an advantage, I don't even care about winning, at most I just want to not be at a disadvantage (and literally in pain) because I lost at the DNA lottery. If DBD had sliders for contrast, brightness and visibility I wouldn't even consider using filters, but here we are.

There's already cheaters and exploiters in the game anyway, and monitors with built-in filters and probably other ways to do the same thing exist, so maybe it's an unpopular opinion but I'd rather we allow people who need filters to use them instead of making them miserable because some people are pathetic enough to use them to gain an advantage.

You are still able to stealth just fine with my filters. I did not increase the BRIGHTNESS on those maps. I lowered the shadows setting in the .ini file, which is the same as playing on Low Settings, I just like how pretty it looks on Ultra. I cannot play the game with the Ultra shadows, I literally cannot form depth perception from being almost blind in my right eye.

Why would streamers get banned for using filters when they are white listed by BHVR?

I get your annoyance with EQ, it's frustrating. There is unfortunately nothing that can be done about it.

Filters like mine are 100% doable by playing on low settings and adjusting your contrast/brightness/hue on your monitor/tv. It is available to everyone. I did not add some special filter to help me cheat.

I'm happy you have perfect vision, but the game as it stands is much too blurry by default for me to play it. Some of the color palletes Borgo/Eyrie are so flat/one sided that it basically looks like a FLAT image to me, because of my vision problems.

If you were unable to do these things, I might agree, but my filters can literally be done on any platform if playing on low settings as soon as the ability to turn AA comes out on Alien release. I just have a hot key, so I can change between 3 profiles for what accentuates the map the best / makes it look more cinematic.

I do not increase my brightness on low settings so I can see people in bushes, etc. You can still easily stealth. My Macmillan pictures are 100% evidence that there is nothing different, except the hue/color saturation/sharpness. If they were "stealthing with my filters off, I'd have still seen them, but I'd have to be squinting, because of my vision, which would lead to a migraine. If you still don't believe me, I will load the same map up and get a bot to stealth to show you that I can still see them just the same.

Sorry to bother you but may I private message you about the filters ? I also have one blind eye on top of a degenerative eye disease so playing too long make my eye hurt and I can't see anything in dark spots, some of these would really be a great help for me or at least allow me to not have to set my luminosity to the max everytime I launch the game.

  • I play both. I used to play mostly survivor for the BP incentives & queue times but I've been playing killer probably 75% of the time since a bit before the Singularity chapter.

  • Everytime there's an update I'm baffled the calm spirit "buff" hasn't been reversed. Like, if they're too lazy to actually buff it they should at least let us have the old version back.

The new effect is useless because of the drawback and I don't want to risk bringing it for the old effect in case the killer is a hex / pentimento player.

  • @GreyBigfoot said:

Lol. Maybe if the Hatch still appeared early when survivors progressively died.

It's true that some killer powers can break a bot's behavior more than others, but they are objectively better than having *literally nothing* when a teammate disconnects.

Honestly when you can't get a gen done because the bot keeps missing skillchecks and bringing the killer to you, to a point where the entire team avoids the bot and leaves their gen if the bot comes to it, I'd say it would have been much better for the team to only have 3ppl.

  • @Exarion said:

I noticed lately these survivors want every mobile killer nerfed. blight, wraith, wesker etc. can it be because they don't get free game with mft?)

People have been hating blight & Wesker way before mft was a thing, and wraith haters are more numerous since the healing nerf bc it made hit & run more viable. So, no, not everything is about mft.

  • He's very complicated to learn for most people. I would love to play him, I just don't have the skills needed to do so.

  • Wraith hate post ? count me in

I really don't think he's that strong but I absolutely agree he's one of the most irritating killers to go against and I would rather go against spirit or literally anyone else lmao

  • I think I'm kinda complicated about this but basically:

3/4k as killer is a win, but I don't feel like I lost if I have a good amount of hooks and the survivors were better than me.

Escaping, or sacrificing myself so the rest of team escape is a win, but I don't feel like I lost if I die trying to save someone during endgame or if i played well and survived a while during a game I knew I would lose (killer tunneled someone out very early, useless teammates...)

What Hint? Am I missing something?

Look at the pictures in her locker, they all look like Susie with women, including at least one (top one) where they look like they're kissing

  • Blood orbs & bleeding are two different mechanics, it's counterintuitive but you do give blood orbs constantly with no mither (unless it's been changed since then and I haven't heard about it, but i doubt it)

  • Killers I pretty much always have fun playing against: Nurse, Billy, Huntress, Deathslinger, Demo and (so far) Xeno.

I respect killers who play Singularity and Billy well because I wish I could do that lol. More generally I respect killers who obviously go out of their way to "play fair" and not tunnel.

    Keys :

    • Every chest is instantly unlocked when opening.
    • Lucky key makes you have less odds at being obsession and gives higher odds at better items.
    • The gates are opened 50% faster.

    Maps :

    • There is no usage amount, they give permanent effect for 12m radius. Can be increased with addons to 24 max.
    • They will always show the location of the hatch once available no matter how far away.
    • All gens are displayed at all times.

I think this would make both viable in both low and high mmr.

    These are nice suggestions tbh.

Maybe i'm pushing it but I think maps showing the aura of nearby vaults and pallets would be nice. You could extend the range of the effect with add-ons. Like toolboxes & medkits are very appealing because they're alternatives to perks, making maps an alternative to the most popular survivor perk would surely make them worth bringing over the other much more popular items, even if their effect is lesser than WoO and/or limited in time of use.

  • Although I would love to have more maps in the realms that have only one, I don't have anything against new realms (and would love to have the one they considered for the Trickster chapter).

I absolutely agree about the map offerings, but I don't think the number of realms is the problem considering the Alien map is in the same realm as Singularity's but they have different map offerings. Instead of not making new realms BHVR should just delete map offerings and make new maps more likely to get for a week or two after they get released.

  • One more penny in "so literally everything is toxic in DBD?" jar ig

As for being countered, it feels like everytime i run a healer build for a challenge I get matched against a Plague lol. Also, that one time I used No Mither and got Oni.

  • I think something like this happened to me as well yesterday (also with demo). I remember being very confused at to why chase wasn't starting until I got a shred hit.

Nobody cares hun. You had your time. This perk is obviously too good you can deny all you want.

"Obviously too good" my guy it only highlights stuff. Info is useless if you don't know what to do with it, and only newbies and solo q (who use it to know where their teammates dropped stuff) would suffer from a nerf. It's not going to make you catch anyone competent any faster, just get good :*

  • if y'all manage to get an info perk nerfed because you can't stand that survivors have anything useful it'll probably be my last straw lmao

  • I bought the premium track with real money once upon a time and I've been using the auric cells from it to buy the next one since then.

I only buy the track once I've reached a tier high enough to reimburse myself in auric cells, that way I'm always ensured to have the next one as well. I think there's only one premium track that I didn't buy because I didn't finish the rift.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

A perk that essentially lets you ignore the need to reset for the last 1-2 generators is kind of busted imo.

I don't know how I'd nerf it but it's an extremely strong perk that gets even stronger when stacked. It's probably the single strongest Survivor perk in the game at the moment.

The perk is a dead slot the entire game, has a one time use and requires you to do all gens. It would be a terrible perk if the effect wasn't 'busted'.

  • Adrenaline has never been problematic. People didn't complain about it until the perks they were complaining about got nerfed and adrenaline became so popular. Some people (cough including BHVR cough) will always claim if something is popular it's OP and needs to be nerfed, which is silly.

  • @Katzengott said:

Didn't the devs said at some point they wanted to adjust ALL surv sounds so they're more on the same level?

Honestly i can't tell if that's already happend, for me sounds are all over the place.

Because it's not just about injured sounds, but also footsteps (map and shoe depended) and breathing (which can also gets very loud for certain survs, esp. after they just stopped running).

They said they would after ppl complained bc of the iron will nerf but it hasn't been mentioned since then so yea it's not gonna happen

  • remember that time when the devs said they would equalise survivor sounds after the iron will nerf and we actually believed them hahahahaha

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I'd argue instead of an entire killer, I want to block being matched with specific players.

Killers can block swfs, survivors can block tunnelers and campers.

If you block too many people? Your own wait times suffer.

If someone gets blocked left and right cuz they are jerks? Well, tough beans for them, but I bet player morale would go up immensely.

That wouldn't work out either. If a survivor blocks everyone and their mom and you're in a lobby with them you'll also suffer from very long MMR. And if killers blocked everyone they think is a swf they'll just end up facing and stomping low mmr survivors. And actual swf who get blocked simply for existing would get very long queues for no reason.

  • Singularity, Blight, Billy and Oni are the hardest for me. Singularity is just too complex for my smooth brain and I still can't figure out how to use the other three when they're 'dashing'.

Also, I disagree about Trapper. He's the easiest killer to play. He's difficult to win with but he's not difficult to master, his power is the most straightforward and the only thing you can improve at is trap placement, which will come naturally with game sense.

  • Nurse also has a pretty low kill rate (and we know that from official sources), doesn't mean she needs a buff.

There's literally no surprise about Singularity having the lowest kill rate considering he arguably has the highest skill floor. It doesn't mean he's bad, he's actually pretty damn good when people play him properly. It's just that most people don't because they're either still leaning him or playing him for the current tome + event tome which are absolutely messing up the already unreliable stats.

  • Nothing has changed. The report system already existed and "bully swf" could already report you 4x times for going afk. It only means now they'll receive updates about their reports. Yes, the new system "promotes" reporting, it's a good thing.

And yes, you should absolutely be reported for going afk because you don't want to lose. And no, survivors trying to get a pallet save aren't bullying you. Hell, even the first group of survivors aren't bullying you any more than a facecamper, slugger or tunneler is bullying survivors. It's a nasty strategy that's unfun to go against but it's a strategy regardless and if you take it personnally you should probably take a break.

  • I wouldn't mind a new height category, but I don't think Xeno & Demo should be in very tall, their models aren't representative of their eye level while playing because of their posture, and the height should represent how it feels to play them and not how tall they technically are when you stretch them out.

1 … 7 8 9 10 11 … 28
