  • I mean Xeno just came out and I think claiming he's on Blight / Nurse level is an exaggeration, but the lose/lose situation is very much a pain. I don't doubt it'll be nerfed because they nerfed other killers for that reason exactly, but they'll certainly take their sweet time and wait until the DLC sales slow down (otherwise they would have fixed this issue post PTB when everyone pointed out that they made the same mistake for the 5th time or something)

    Probably

But also, I find sad that only survivor got these kind of "meme" perks... Killer don't have one... Or it's only because you make some combo

I think it's because killer perks are supposed to be more powerful than survivors' because there's only 4 of them against 16 for survivors every trial, so survivors can spare funny perks whereas killer perks are supposed to be strong, and those which aren't are just bad. Although, I would love an equivalent of the Cage chapter for killers so we can have meme perks too

  • Yes it sounds nice, but I don't think it's gonna last :'(

  • I only play survivor when they have +100% incentives otherwise it's just not worth it tbh

  • @TerraEsram said:

When I see these type of message, I just wish that Pebble become the most popular perk from survivor

Just to see the biggest silence from these type of comment, or maybe, see people complaining that a pebble is way to strong for the current meta

Funny thing is if pebble was popular killers would absolutely complain about it being a bully perk

  • I appreciate this and will keep the tips about turrets in mind. As for the tail attack, if you fake a window / pallet to avoid the hit you'll get hit by M1 unless you have enough distance on the killer, so far I think the best course of action is just holding w and pre-dropping (if you're far enough to avoid the tail).

(and I love the Kirby-like survivor drawing btw)

  • Sounds like they're working like chemical trap, which I assume is a bug

  • Lots of people play sweatier for a few days when a new chapter drops, so if you don't like that I'd wait a few days if I were you.

As for the rest, fast vaults are back to being very annoying but it was like that for so long I don't think it'll take much time to get used to it again (unfortunately).

And for xeno, most people can't aim properly for now so it's not really a problem (yet) but yeah I'm not sure why they brought back lose / lose when they nerfed other killers for that very reason..

In any case, the game didn't suddenly become better or worse, it just has more content, if you stopped because you didn't like it I don't think you'll like it more tbh

  • I think this sounds like it would be too much of a buff on some killers and useless but annoying on the rest.

  • Considering they used to give cosmetics with chapter bundles before the price increase I'm gonna assume adding the "bonus" cosmetic is not a way to make it up to us but a method to make the buyer think they're getting a deal.

And I don't think mods would ever talk about business decisions or that BHVR will make an official statement about this (I'm not sure what that would even look like tbh, there's not really anything to say)

  • I was hoping it was temporary until they fixed the issue with male survivors but that bug is still there, so we get the worst of both worlds lmao

  • I seriously hope it's just temporary while they fix some issues (the difference between male & female survivors for eg), and they didn't just decide to permanently leave the vaults bugged for survivors because they can't be bothered to fix them properly.

  • I'm not a native english speaker but I've always been taught animals are "it/its" no matter how much people anthropomorphizes their pets. So for me it doesn't matter what the lore technically says about the gender equivalent of an alien's genitalia, I call Xeno (as well as Demo & Dredge) "it/its" (although I'd probably refer to the Queen as she/her out of habit honestly)

  • It's a licenced killer and can't be bought with shards. I promise you most people don't swipe their credit card the minute a chapter drops (not to mention it's more expensive than usual on official stores) and many people just don't buy licenced chapters unless they really like the licence or the perks (which aren't worth it this time tbh), it's nothing new.

  • @Emoba said:

I mean, the same could be said about Xeno. None of the 6 new perks are strong (expect the footsteps one against Spirit).

I think the one that makes survivors scream within your TR is good, but yeah I doubt there'll be any change to popular perks with this chapter. However, I personnally buy killers for their power more than their perks, so if I enjoy playing a killer I don't really mind that their perks are meh, but if a survivor's perks are bad it just feels like buying an overpriced cosmetic, which to me isn't worth it unless I really like the franchise and have some money to spare.

As things are I won't consider buying the chapter until there's sale and it's at like 60% of the price tbh

  • @rvzrvzrvz said:

How do you even sell your dlc with perks like that ? We have 100+ useless/niche perks on survivor side already why would I buy this

Exaclty :(, if they were niche but still good at what they do I wouldn't mind, but they're niche and bad...

    @Seraphor said:

Lucky Star definitely needed a buff.

So did Rapid Brutality... which was nerfed from 10s to 9s...

Sad to see none of Xeno's add ons got buffed though.

I hadn't noticed Rapid Brutality was nerfed, that sounds unecessary... and yes Xeno's add-ons are pretty sad overall

You’d think, but i’m getting a pink blib in place of it

The original post didn’t specify, and I‘m not sure we’re allowed to discuss it here, but the original VA; Michael Alvarez, has been fired following “talks” with underage girls.

Mind, this is based on 10 minutes of research, and I could be entirely wrong.

welp...I read the patch notes and thought they were just getting started on their "equalizing survivor sounds" promise, this sucks to hear (if it's true), but I'm glad BHVR got rid of him.

sorry for the poor quality i just copy/pasted from twitter

  • So basically they brought back extra cosmetics in Steam but the chapters are more expensive than in the in-game store? i love extra cosmetics but I'd rather not have them than pay extra to get them... (also it explains why I have a Nicolas Cage cosmetic although I never bought one nor did I want one... next time i'll read the fine prints lol)

  • I don't see why it wouldn't count, since the new requirements as long as you 4k you should get it. I assume even sacrifices to the EGC and survivors bleeding out would count as well.

  • Seems to just be a description bug (thankfully)

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Yeah I’m not gonna be getting her. I think I’ll wait for a sale and play TCM. They messed up the skin I wanted for her too so genuinely no reason for me to get her yet. For a Final Girl as big as her they should have pulled out all the stops with her perks and paid closer attention to detail with her cosmetics.

Hopefully because Maria is also missing her nails it's a bug and they'll add them (or it's not a bug and they add them anyway lol). But yeah it sucks, I was excited to bring Lightfooted to my fixated + lightweight build but the perk itself is too restricted and the other ones don't justify buying her either

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I think the true effect of Lucky Star is being able to see your whole team when you exit a locker. I use kindred enough to know that is HUGE for solo queue, and now I can basically have kindred whenever I want.

I agree that Light Footed was too safely designed. It should either have the cooldown OR not work when injured. Both is overkill.

Well obviously I don't know what the devs had in mind, I assumed the aura effect was secondary to the rest (similar to Grabiel's perk), which would be good for solo q. However, if the aura is the primary effect, then it's not that the concept was poorly executed but that the concept itself is quite disappointing. As a solo player I'm tired of having to waste a perk slot only to know where my teammates are, and there's already enough aura reading perks that I can't imagine using one that requires me to enter and exit a locker everytime I want value, it sounds very tedious and definitely not the best option unless you're already running a full locker build.

And yeah, agreed about Lucky Star, that's exactly what I think.

  • I know they gotta start somewhere but why start by a character no one plays when Jeff has been complained a ton about being too loud and Ace has been complained a ton about being too quiet 😭

  • It's kinda weird but I'd hardly call it a failure, the changes being announced a few days before a chapter doesn't change anything, it's not like we can test them or they'd be changed again before the chapter drops. For all we know maybe there's 0 change and that's why we're not getting a dev update.

  • @Alice_pbg said:

it's probably to avoid the store having a billion things... to get people to come back during the year.

but quite annoying when you just want the one skin

Nah no one waits a year for a cosmetic, either they forget about it by the time it comes back or they're pressured to buy it before it leaves (and if it leaves before becoming available in Iri shards you have to buy it with real money)

And let's be honest the store is still messy af lol, it's just organized poorly, the number of items doesn't really matter

The "Seeing swf in lobby would kill DbD because everyone will dodge" is a blatant lie that im surprised people are still using, as other games are here that let you know if you are against a premade group of teams and they are still healthy.

Swap those numbers you have and they are probably much more close to the truth. Out of 100 killers, 93 of them would probably chose to play the game and 7 would dodge. That would be closer to reality.

I witness lobby dodging every day, and I don't even play 20 games a day (and I'm not even in a swf). Killers and survivors alike dodge for any and every reason (from "looks like a swf", to "there's more than two items", "prestige is too high / low") and it's quite naive to think people wouldn't dodge 3&4ppl swf just because they can. There's no penalty and queues are fast enough that lobby shopping wouldn't hinder the dodger's game in any way. Saying it'd kill the game is definitely dramatic, but thinking swfs would only get dodged less than 1/10 times is also a poor estimate. Just take it from the many people asking to see swf in pre-game lobby because "if they don't want to play against 3&4ppl swf they shouldn't have to" or similar lines of thoughts that all mean "let me know so i can dodge".

I'm sure there's a bunch of games where we see swf and it's just fine, but I also have a feeling they probably punish dodging in some way.

  • Besides the fact that BHVR doesn't want to do perks with BP bonus anymore, in my opinion "This effect cannot be countered by aura hiding abilities." is bad. What's the point of making aura hiding perks if aura reading perks can be immune to them ? It's like making an exhaustion perk that's immune to exhaustion add-ons and perks, it makes no sense. Perks should be counterable.

Other than that I personnally really like token perks, those that reward not tunneling even more, but the reward should be an game advantage instead of BP (or on top of them).

    Or how about:

Voice chat is precisely the reason why I avoid other pvp games like F13 and TCM, and the lack of expectation to use it is actually what makes DBD a less toxic gameplay experience for me.

Just because "other games have it" doesn't mean it's a good idea.

DBD is balanced around it's current format, where VC is not expected. This is leading to things such as the survivor HUD icons, and other tools to help solo survivors. If VC was the expectation, then the skill divide between muted and unmuted would be even greater. Killers would be balanced to deal with full survivor communication, and non-VC survivors wouldn't stand a chance.

If you're an advocate for solo survivor, then you wouldn't want that for the game. If you think "solo survivor would be improved with VC", you're not a solo survivor, you're a SWFer without a SWF. Just get on discord and team up, it's not difficult.

Exactly this; saying "we should introduce VC and if you don't like it you can just mute" basically means we should balance everything around swf on comms so solo players are either forced to have a massive disadvantage or endure people yelling atrocities at them.

It would just lead to people saying "just mute the VC" when solo players complain about it, but also "just turn on VC" when they complain about balance. I would genuinely stop playing survivor (and possibly the game altogether) if that feature was introduced, because there's no way i'd use VC but I also wouldn't bother searching for 3 available people everytime I want to play.

  • Honestly I'm not sure what cosmetic you're talking about, but if it was part of the collection with the onesies it's a collection that'll come back in winter

  • BHVR has decided to implement FOMO big time and made "special" collections (Christmas collections, Halloween collections, basically every collection with a somewhat seasonal theme) available only during a certain period of time each year. Dwight in a box will come back for christmas for example.

  • I've always considered Rin as a mobility killer more than a stealth killer tbh, but I wouldn't be against add-ons that make it more difficult to know exactly where she is, similar to some of Wraith's add-ons (although I wouldn't want one that completly mutes the sounds and would basically revert the nerf).

As for the stuns, Sadako is immune to them because she's weak in chase and needed to be more threatening, whereas Spirit's speed in phase is more than 7m/s, so in my opinion she's threatening (and strong) enough with her speed alone. I also don't think her being predictable enough that survivors can outplay her is bad, on the contrary.

  • Honestly it's silly how it's rare to get 20k BPs as survivor (without any bonus), but you're basically guaranteed over 25k BPs as killer as long as you're not AFK.

  • the only things I've heard about TCM after the "new DBD" talk is that voice comms are super toxic and that there's a dodging problem, so no thank you.

Mmhhh now that you say it. I used to be a Jane main, but since that new sporty outfit for Mikaela released, i kinda only played Mikaela.

Skins really matter. If i wouldn´t find Fengs screams so annoying (especially the volume) i would probably play Feng. Since she has no shortage on new skins.

Yep, I'm a Jake, Yui & Zarina main at heart, but I actually play Feng Min & Kate more than them. It's hard to keep playing people with 3 alright skins when you get shiny new ones for other characters every two weeks...

That's so true. I noticed especially felix has been getting more consistenly. It seems he also has a strong fanbase with the shirtless situation which is amusing. And the devs love to feed on with that with releasing half shirtless skins. But the more the merrier and thats a plus in my book.

Also dwight is an ok choice too. I had gabriel on the radar but i wont touch him till i get a clear consensus on his marketability on the community. But like you said, he may not be popular enough and i noticed that as well.

And as others mentionned, Ace also get a fair amount of cosmetics. I forgot he existed because I don't really like them lmao. You could also join Jake mains, we don't get skins but we don't expect any because they're usually ugly anyway 😭

  • @Piruluk said:

    Really?

I remember David being very popular few years ago

It changed after BHVR said he was gay (and his chances of getting cosmetics dropped with his popularity). I remember getting one or two David every game before that, now I see him probably as much as Jane, which is to say quite rarely. Maybe the DH nerf also have something to do with it, but most people don't play characters because of their teachables.

  • The only male survivor who gets a lot of cosmetics is Dwight. Felix has been getting some pretty consistently as well, but other than them no man can compete with Feng Min, Kate and Mikaela (and even Nea, Meg & Claudette) I'm afraid. It's too soon to know about Gabriel, but I don't think he's nearly popular enough, and Nicolas Cage is licenced so it's hard to know but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

edit: couldn't spell Mikaela's name to save my life

  • I just did it with built to last on a brown toolbox with no add-ons and it worked fine. Maybe try re-starting the game, I remember a while ago I had a challenge that wouldn't get validated for no reason so I tried again the day after it worked.

This will increase the search time. The listed killers simply will not find players for themselves, even those players who have never even played against these killers, the killers themselves might not have played this killer even once and would rather lose, but the match will not start due to the dodging of these killers

Yes, and if you show swf in pre-game lobby they will always get dodged and never find a game either. Both of these ideas are terrible considering dodging isn't punished (and even if it was punished I'm sure people would still take a 5min penalty over a SM or 4ppl swf)

  • If it only works for the last remaining 2 survivors and only if they've been downed after the other two died (if 3 are slugged and 2 die the third one can't pick themself up unless they get picked up and downed again) I don't think it would be a bad idea tbh.

Which shouldnt be much more rare than it is, because you need 4 players on survivor-side, but only 1 on killer-side. When the incentives are on killer (which has hugely increased), its a sign that less players are playing killer. Wonder why?

Yeah +100% for survivors during the day and +100% for killers at night seems normal to me. During the day less people play so it's more difficult to find 4 survivors for every killer, but after people come back from work there's more people available to play with friends which they can only do with one role so there's always way more survivors than killers. Unless there's an event or new chapter (usually people play more killer during those) it's always been like that for me.

If the incentives were +100% for killers all the time I'd be expecting a massive survivor nerf / killer buff tbh (but also I'd be happy because killer queues are always too long for me lol)

I am in Europe as well and the 100% blood point bonus for survivor is only between 8 AM and 11 AM since Transmission End came out. It is on killer all other hours.

We're in different MMR brackets then, the bonus has always been +100% for survivors until 8-9PM since it was implemented for me (except after Nicolas Cage came out and everyone wanted to play survivor a couple of weeks or during events)

  • @Worgen said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3524934#Comment_3524934

I meant it seriously, these are positive chnages to the game, these are unavoidable i think, at some point they will implement them, these are basic charachteristics of a pvp game. + 1 or 2 are already in mobile dbd. on the otherhand i see complains about dodges and bad matchmaking, to them i dont have a solution in mind, but there where a time when they did matchmaking properly but the god like players waited around 5 hours for each lobby so they modified it. and to the complains those are fearing and dodgeing lobbies beacuse they see a high number i can only say that some day they will learn to lose. and after that people will improve, and then they will not crying on things like that. this game requires a mentality to play, and thousands of hours. i dont mind playing against more experienced gamers, i see them as an opourtunity, to learn something from them. most of the time they will destroy me yes but thats not gonna matter i gained experience.

Allowing killers to handpick their lobby is not a good change, unless you also allow survivors to have more info about the killer, but then matchmaking would turn to hell if dodging isn't punished. On top of that giving them info that doesn't actually affect MMR (prestige, ranks) just makes people dodge for no reason because they misunderstand how MMR works, which makes matchmaking and lobby finding time worse because of misconceptions.

  • I find endurance as annoying as killer as I find deep-wound annoying as survivor. It's one of those things you don't care about when it doesn't happen often but can be frustrating if the whole playstyle / build is based around it.

  • Plague is fine, she doesn't have the power to down you if you don't cleanse. Also, you can take her out of her power if you stun her, and with practice dodging is very possible if you're not in a dead zone.

  • If the BP bonus is for survivors it means there's too many killers / not enough survivors.

For me (EU - average MMR) the incentives is +100% for survivors during the day and it switches to +100% for killers at night.

I play both but I've been playing killer more since a bit before the singularity chapter

  • I would agree, but BHVR has made it clear that if you buy a DLC of a character you lost you'll still have the cosmetics you bought and the prestige, progress and everything, it's not that you lost something you bought, it's not it's unavailable to you until you buy the necessary DLC that you need for using it.

The only weird case is of course Stranger Things, but if you bought the cosmetics it means you didn't buy the DLC when it was available, knowing it was going to leave. It's unfortunate, but really it's not BHVR's fault either.

  • I don't want to play with them because I don't have a single killer higher than p7. Why do I need matchmaking of such opponents? I don't care that they don't have enough p100 killers

You're not getting matched against P100 survivors because there's "not enough P100 Killers". Prestige has absolutely nothing to do with matchmaking because it's meaningless. You're getting matched against P100 survivors because you have the same MMR, and by lobby dodging you're making said MMR worse for everyone (you included).

Also "don't mind my p6-7 killers. I don't even have a main favorite among everyone, because I play with everyone", so you're aware you have a bunch of killers P6-7 because you play all of them but you can't fathom players spending all their BPs on the only survivor they play? If you have about 15 killers P6-7 you've spent as much BP on them as someone with a single P100 survivor did, it literally means nothing.

    @Worgen said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3524530#Comment_3524530

Nah prestige should remain as it is. Valuable information for killer. Plus they should add swf icons who play with someone.visible devotion rank, and killer should see Item rarity too. And with those no killer would run into a team with full meta perks and items with hes zero slowdown poop builds. And survs should see each others builds too.

Genuinely can't tell if you're being ironic or not. Why don't we go back to when you could switch killers in the lobby too ? And we might as well show the survivor perks to the killer while we're at it, or make a feature where they can handpick every survivor in the lobby.

  • I'm not trying to be rude at all but if you don't like DBD anymore and there are similar games you like better why don't you just play those instead ? The things you mentionned (survivors not really having offensive options and only being different in terms of looks, probably the whole bloodweb mechanic as well) are extremely unlikely to ever change, so if that's what makes you bored there's not really a point in sticking around on the off chance they will (and nothing will stop you from coming back if they do).

And maybe you haven't seen it but the devs did say they wanted to add more items in the recent reddit Q&A. I have no idea if there's already some in the works or if they'll be offensive options though, but all hope is not lost ^^

1 … 6 7 8 9 10 … 28
