  • Trickster.

All Blighted killers "just" have their non-human like features enhanced and exaggerated, so i'm really curious about how they would go about Trickster considering he's physically just a hot normal dude.

I'm also curious about Dredge, but other than that, all killers would be really cool because blighted cosmetics are where it's at.

As for survivors, i'd be very pleasantly surprised if a licenced character had one, but beyond that I don't really care, it's basically just an other cosmetic so I'm happy as long as it's not the same 5 survivors who get something.

  • I also got bored of my build, now I'm playing around with Fixated + Lightweight, it's been fun :)

  • If it was still feared tunneling wouldn't be nearly as popular as it is. I wasn't against the nerf at the time but i really wish I had been lol. Making it deactivate in end-game was enough of a nerf tbh, the stun should still be 5s.

  • Agreed, I think killers are close to the best position they've ever been in right now. If we want to nitpick it was even easier before MFT, and maybe during the 3 gen meta.

Although, it's not because something is in a good spot that it's fun or that we shouldn't point out what could still be improved.

  • I think it should be brought back to 5s but still desactivate in end-game.

Then end the game for everyone early on when a survivor DC and increase the penalty.

The game is going to be even longer with the new bots. Now survivors will be expected to try with bots and killers to chase and hooks them.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3484812#Comment_3484812

    That’s actually a good point.

Regardless of BHVR implementing killer bots in live games or not I'm pretty they want to implement them in custom games, so yeah it's probably more of a heavy workload and technical issue than a dilemma about making people play against bots in live mode.

Even survivor bots took a long time to come and are far from being perfect, so I wouldn't expect killer bots anytime soon tbh (besides the baby Trapper in tutorial mode).

  • Those are nice tips but unfortunately I don't think that much teamwork is a reasonable ask for solo q, and if SM decides to tunnel someone out before 3 genning it wouldn't even be worth trying. I'll still keep them in mind though

  • Survivors bots are basically 1 bot with different cosmetics.

To make killer bots you'd have to make 31 (and counting) different bots. And some killer powers would probably be very difficult to implement.

  • Flasbangs aren't nearly abusable as flashlights, and the survivors weren't just hiding in lockers or even holding the game hostage because farming flashbangs requires them to do gens (and I assume they must have been doing them quite a bit to be able to spam flashbangs at you).

Also this isn't just an oversight as explained by Mandy somewhere in this discussion : https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3429604#Comment_3429604

My personal thoughts on this is that I'm glad flashlight locker saves can't be spammed anymore but flashbangs require enough gen progress that it's not really a problem, because the ressource will run out at some point.

Personally I really don't mind this, but also I love going against "bully squads" in general lol so I'm aware this might not be the general consensus.

  • I think most offerings should be deleted or reworked tbh.

BP offerings & blackward are fine.

Moris are fine (but im assuming will be deleted and replaced by finisher moris at some point)

Fog offerings are fine but quite un-impactful in my opinion

Luck offerings are fine as well but as you said they're really niche and I don't think many people would miss them (unless they rework the entire Luck mechanic).

Map offerings & hook distance offerings shouldn't exist.

Hatch & basement offerings I don't really mind but I do mind survivors who use them to wait for their team to die and killers who use them to camp, so I'd like it better if they were gone.

Offerings that make survivors spawn together or not are backwards in my opinion. Survivors benefit more from spawning separately and (at least most) killers benefit more from them being grouped up. Either make both shrouds available for both sides or delete them altogether.

  • @Seraphor said:

if somehow a killer ends up against 4 bots they should be allowed to DC without a penalty.

Even that's not good enough. Why should the killer lose out on BP and lose a pip because the survivors all quit?

As long as 4 survivor DCs are counted as an instant win for killers, just as a killer DC is for survivors, then it'll be fine as is.

If 4 survivors DC right at the beginning of the game the killer isn't giving up on anything and if the game is about to end nothing is stopping the killer from finishing it against the bots to get the rewards (and they would still get the 'quitter' BP bonus).

I said that because I have a hard time picturing any other situation where 4 survivors would DC, but I have nothing against the killer being able to keep their BP, challenges & pips if they DC against 4bots.

  • I don't think killers would be very happy about a survivor keeping their endurance effect as long as they run after the killer, which would also be made really easy with the haste effect.

Tbh I think the DS nerf should be reverted, killers started tunneling like crazy after they stopped being scared of it. At this point idc that it hurt weaker killers more than strong ones, that survivors would need to bring it all the time or that we're basically circling back to how things were prior the meta shake up. DS worked, bring it back.

  • The DC penalty won't be deleted so there's no reason why people would DC more. If anything, people who DC out of spite to annoy the killer (or their teammates) would have more to lose by being replaced by a bot who does its job so it's possible they wouldn't DC and instead be completely useless.

For example the people who DC to deny Bloodwarden or other perks that activate when hooked are probably going to stop doing it if the bot just gets hooked in their place and it doesn't actually have any impact besides giving them the penalty.

But yeah, if somehow a killer ends up against 4 bots they should be allowed to DC without a penalty.

  • My guess is that killer blighted skins sell more and it's easier to get the "ok" for them because it's basically an altered / exaggerated version of their base model, whereas for survivors it would be a whole new cosmetic.

(i may be completely wrong though)

I am not assuming anything actually but alright.

But just in case, straight characters do not need to be revealed. It's not like LGBT+ characters. That's why i am asking which characters we can accept as straights. Because when it comes to LGBT+ characters, it's easy. They are usually revealing by creators. But this is not the case for straight characters.

"I'm not assuming anything", you literally think characters are straight because you assume they aren't interested in people of the same gender..

Also, straight characters aren't "revealed" because of people like you who decide everyone is straight until proven otherwise. The rest of us got tired of it, which is why we make sure to let you know that actually we don't know their sexuality so they could be bi or whatever and your opinion doesn't actually matter

Anyways i already said i was gonna leave this topic and this time i mean it fr fr ok bye

  • Nurse is fun to go against

So i can call them bi if there is male character which dates with another male character. Unless if they are not confirmed as gay like David's case.

If that's okey to you, then i have no problem with your opinion.

uh yes ? you're very welcome to assume whatever you want about fictional characters' sexualities who aren't actually labelled.

It's literally the same thing. You think a character is bi ? Good for you. You think they're bi so people who disagree with you are wrong ? still no

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3483131#Comment_3483131

I said that because whenever i say this character is straight, it always same respond: They can be bi, you know.

I know bisexual people are exists as well and i want rep for them. But i am just curious who is straight if we go with this logic.

Leon, Claire, Laurie, Chris etc always seen with opposite genders and flirted with them. But then there is always someone is coming: Hey, you know! They can be bi as well. Yes they can. But i never saw them with identical gender.

I am just curious which characters we can call straight, what need to happen?

I hope this does not sound like i don't want LGBT+ characters because i want. But i want straight characters too.

You can think a character who doesn't have a confirmed sexuality is straight all you want, but that's just a headcanon. It's not because you think they're straight that they are. Just like it's not because someone else thinks they're bi that you're not allowed to think they're straight.

You think a character is straight ? cool

You think a character is straight so people who disagree are wrong and hate straight characters ? Just no, your opinion isn't more valuable than theirs and as long as nothing is confirmed no assumption is right or wrong.

  • Genuinely baffled Calm Spirit hasn't been reverted.

  • @Sava18 said:

I really don't care too much, but when they go back and change characters for the sake of sexuality it seems VERY disingenuous. Change for the sake of change is always bad imo. Add new characters who can be crafted with their sexuality in mind, not just slap it on to old survivors with no real reason.

Any old survivors who get their sexuality changed/updated will only be to appease the community, not with any real creative/narrative intent.

Again, it wouldn't bother me because of the change itself, just that the I know the change itself only happened because the devs wanted to low effort add lgbtq survivors.

    I already regret saying this.

If you mean change a character with an already established / implied sexuality (like Felix) agreed, if you mean "change" because you assume everyone is straight that's a you problem.

(and im also gonna head out before the thread goes bad lol)

For calling someone bi, we should see them interested with both genders which we did not for any of DbD characters. Maybe in future, BHVR can add bi, trans and lesbian characters. I'd support this.

    @EmmaFrostyEyes said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3483035#Comment_3483035

depends. If a certain character is only seen being with one gender no matter what it is, then it means they are only into the one specific gender. In order to be bi you need to into both. Like steve and claire you can say that they might be bi but they have only shown being interested in the opposite gender. This is just my opinion tho

I agree with this, but it's not uncommon for fictional characters to only show interest in one or two persons rather than in only one gender as a whole, but regardless I'm aware the creators of these characters probably never even considered them being bi so it's very unlikely they are.

  • I mean if we want to nitpick it's not because someone is in a het relationship that they're straight (could be bi or whatever) but if we're being realistic yeah that's probably right

  • That's unfortunately not a bug, just a terrible choice on BHVR's part.

You have to unlock P1 to get the auto-bloodweb feature.

Feedback quite literally includes complaints about the perks...but yeah, it indeed is stronger than sb because you don't have to 99 it, you're not always gonna be able to 99 sb and ensure you get value out of it, but with this you can. There's a reason old dh's *distance* part was so strong, as in nothing to do with the i frames

I'm just gonna have to disagree on that. The number of people who use SB is much higher than the number of people who know how to 99% efficiently, and it's not like you can hold Dramaturgy for long because if you get hit you lose it. We'll just have to see when it goes live i guess.

I forgot about Balanced Landing, lol.

Balanced Landing is used 6.2%, so it's actually pretty firmly in "Good perk" territory, based on usage.

I don't know why Overcome just isn't changed to 3 seconds of movement, instead of 2 and Smash Hit changed to do 3 seconds of speed burst on a dropped pallet and 4 seconds on a stun. Their usage shows survivors don't value either one of them. Plus, it would be nice to have other exhaustion perk options, besides Sprint Burst, Lithe, Dead hard and Balanced Landing (I actually like Balanced Landing if I know the map I'll be on).

Honestly I think Overcome isn't used much because it requires you to be healthy and not because it's too weak, with tunneling being very common rn (and the healing nerf) it's risky to bring it when it's possible you'll only get to use it once. As for BL, it can be really good on some maps but it depends on it so much that I wouldn't risk bringing it without a map offering tbh.

  • I assume it has to do with the fact that their attacks make them lunge foward (unless you already considered that), but either way it's a really fair point and might be a good way to buff them. I don't think Demogorgon suffers much from that because the lunge makes up for it (or maybe I'm just used to it), but it would probably be a pretty cool buff at least for Pig.

(Ignoring Head On, since it's not really the same as the other exhaustion perks).

It's worse than Lithe, SB, Dead Hard and Overcome. Smash Hit, which is the current worse exhaustion perk will be the determining factor.

Just for a baseline, let's say perks over 10% are meta, perks under 10% are good while perks under 2% usage are bad and perks under 1% usage are the worst, based on nightlight.gg. That makes 9 meta perks, 60 good perks, 27 bad perks and 60 worthless perks

Both Overcome (1.75%) and Smash Hit (0.80%) are the worst exhaustion perks in the game, based on usage. Since Dramaturgy is a worse version of Overcome, because it's half the speed of Overcome, and both are 2 seconds long, I think we can assume it will be worse than Overcome at 1.75% usage (bad perk territory).

The only variable that might affect it's usage is if survivor-players view spawning a random item as useful. Since there really isn't anything in the game that does that, I don't know how that will affect usage. The closest thing is Plunder's Instinct, but I don't think that's close enough to make a judgement. Plunder's Instinct is used 1.06% of the time.

Either way, I plan to check Dramaturgy's usage in 2 months and see if I'm right. Although, if Dramaturgy's usage starts at 7% on release, then that almost guarantees it will drop below Overcome in about 2 months.

I agree about all of that, but considering Dramaturgy isn't only a chase perk and you can also get an item from it, I don't expect it to be as good as other exhaustion perks in chase. I really don't see it as a chase perk, so I don't mind it being worse than the others in that regard, kinda like Head On, its purpose isn't the same as the rest so it would be weird to compare them.

I also think it won't be used much once people get bored of it, but I don't think it means it's a bad perk. I don't use Head On at all but it does its job well and isn't bad by any means. Dramaturgy is the same in that sense, it'll do its purpose well, it's just that its purpose is basically fun and memes and therefore is unlikely to ever fit in the meta (which would actually be possible if the luck system was reworked and the perk was affected by it but that's an entirely different topic lol).

It won't be able to keep up with other exhaution perks when it comes to chases, but it's not its purpose so it's fine, and it doesn't make it worse than the others. I'm not sure I'm making any sense, but I'd say it'll do its job better than Smash Hit or even BL, even if its job is silly and much less useful.

  • Blessing a Hex totem takes longer than a dull one, so really there's no issue with it.

As for lore wise, a Blessing being stronger than a Curse really isn't uncommon or weird to me

Lol "its drawbacks" of having a 1/4 chance of making you exposed for 12s which will literally do nothing if you arent terrible at the game

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3482083#Comment_3482083

Weaker SB...thats on demand, but yeah its just a meme totally no reasonable complaints allowed, not like the devs want feedback or anything

Pretty sure feedback means people are allowed to argue different opinions but go off ig.

Also, 25% haste for 2 seconds when healthy and with a 1/4 chance of it lasting 4 seconds vs 150% for 3 seconds.

There's no world where this isn't a much weaker version of SB, even if you get lucky with the 1/4 (which you can't even get twice in a row). And unless you're silly enough to believe 25% for 2s and only if yo'ure healthy is as good as 150% for 3s because you don't have to 99% it, getting 25% for 4s is still much weaker and definitely not on demand because you have at best 1/3 chance of getting it.

But again, absolutely not surprised one bit about people (especially you) finding this perk OP, although you're of course very welcome to complain about every perk that comes out, it's not like I could stop you if I wanted to.

  • @CaulDrohn said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3482482#Comment_3482482

I think op means that the perk just depletes charges on ANY item of the ground, not just the ones being slapped out of a survivors hand.

I think so too, but then it also counters rumaging through chests (you have to drop your item to do it), and you're also forced to drop your item to use a killer power related item, so it would not be pleasant one bit.

  • Had the same thing happening earlier against my fav killer so I feel your pain, but truth be told if it was against a killer I don't like I would have been grateful about not having to play the game. I think I would rather have this happen than play a whole game with a bot tbh (mostly if the complaints I've seen about them are true).

  • Yep, got lucky with a purple medkit earlier and used it on myself. Pretty sure it would have been the exact same thing if I had gotten a brown one. Same thing for add-ons, they're just boring as heck.

Honestly scared of the reddit Q&A where they said they wanted / were thinking about implementing other items. The current state of survivor items & add-ons is atrocious and there doesn't seem to be any plan for an overhaul, so I just hope they don't add anything to this mess.

  • @Crowman said:

Drama is hardly the worst exhaustion perk. It's really good at correcting bad movement at tiles similiar to old Dead Hard for distance to vaults and windows.

Dead Hard was the best exhaustion perk in the game and it was only a 1 second dash. So the duration of the exhaustion perk has no merits to its strength.

DH was the best because it was one second of invincibility, so Dramaturgy won't come close to it. I absolutely disagree about it being a bad perk or the worst exhaustion one, but it definitely won't be as good as SB or Lithe chase-wise (and it shouldn't be considering it has other effects).

  • @nars said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3482477#Comment_3482477

I think its because some survivors counter it by just dropping it as they get hit. I think that if they get hit and their items on the floor it starts regressing

I know how Franklin's work haha, sorry for the confusion, I was just asking how OP's suggestion could be implemented and work properly

  • Well, how ? I'm pretty sure this would be impossible to implement, unless you want killers to have to find and interact with dropped items to make them lose charges.

But also, why ? How is it fair that killers can see survivor items in a lobby and decide to bring a perk which renders them useless, but survivors aren't allowed to do anything to prevent / counter it?

  • Absolutely, the censorship truly makes no sense and the chat isn't useable beyond "gg wp" because of it.

Censoring slurs ? Absolutely, go ahead, but maybe consider auto-banning people who use those from using the chat again.

Censoring swearwords ? This is an 18+ game, there's no need to do so.

Censoring random words that are related to gameplay such as character names and "kill" ? This is just silly and frustrating, why make a post game chat if we can't actually discuss the game ?

I know the heavy censorship is to stop harassment but, dear BHVR, have you considered that people don't need to use swearwords, or will bypass them very easily if they want to harass someone? Have you considered actually doing something about harassment instead of just hiding it behind ******** ?

There's already an option to disable the chat, so it really shouldn't be too complicated to forcefully enable this option for people who have been reported for harassment. I genuinely don't know anyone who feels better about someone screaming in post game chat because half of it is unreadable. Just stop those people from using the chat and the let the rest of us be able to talk without censorship making it sound like we're insulting everyone's mom.

Dramaturgy will end up being used less than every other exhaustion perk, except for Smash Hit.

Smash hit is getting buffed so I wouldn't even bet on that

  • Oh and how could I forget "You opened the box, I came"

  • Here's a few of the more popular running jokes :

    • Pretty good job so far - from the video posted above
    • Nea is the entity - from Samination's DBD parodies
    • Blendette - Claudette's P3 shirt was the same color as most of the walls so she was invisible when crouched
    • Nerf Pig - I'm not sure how it started tbh
    • DemoPls NURSE OUTDATED DemoPls SPIRIT OVERRATED DemoPls LONG HAVE WE WAITED DemoPls DEMO ACTIVATED - Twitch Copypasta, I assume it's still a thing

I don't spend much time on DBD related spaces except here though, so I'm most likely not familiar with a lot of them.

  • Yeah honestly if the limitation range isn't too small that it makes speed/regression perks insignificant it wouldn't be so bad. It would also make balancing those perks (+toolboxes) much easier considering a lot of the time they're fine on their own but too strong when stacked.

  • Demogorgon, Dredge, Huntress, PH, Trapper, Doctor.

I also used to have fun with Legion (they were my first killer) but now I get bored with them.

  • Nah, someone with a flashlight could either carry you or make the team lose the game by going down trying to save people.

A key could mean a god looper or someone who waits for everyone to die.

    Prestige means jack.

Even someone with over 2000+ hours could spend the game hiding in the basement or sandbagging you because they're bored.

So unfortunately, no there really isn't much you can guess from the lobby. The only thing that would be helpful is seeing people's perks so you can dodge Left Behind & self-care players.

  • @Lost_Boy MFT and Dramaturgy literally can't be played together. MFT requires you to be injured and non-exhausted, Dramaturgy requires you to be healthy and exhausts you.

The ability for it to generate a free purple toolbox with brand new parts is acceptable in your mind? Seeing 3+ toolboxes with BNP makes gens already pop so fast it's a actually just silly. So really, lets just give survivors a perk that does something goofy but has a small chance to immediately win them the game. That sounds fine right?

Crazy how being exposed for twelve seconds is "something goofy" but 3+ survivors bringing the perk to have a 0.0045 chance every 80s of getting a BNP is a totally a realistic threat when they could just bring BNPs to begin with, and that immediately wins the game.

But of course a survivor perk that has a 1/4 chance of exposing you and is at best a weaker and conditional SB shouldn't have any chance of actually giving any benefits to survivors right?

  • @Nomade said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3482078#Comment_3482078

that is the only bad effect. 4 things can happen. You get exposed, the extra effect does nothing, you get a random item (can be brand new parts) and you get another speed boost. If you combine this perk with BT, you get a guaranteed 12 seconds of 25% haste which is allready nuts but then you have a 50% chance to have extreme upside and only a 25% chance of somthing bad happening. Dramaturgy is just fundamentally problematic. Its not because of the numbers of the perk. its because of the core design of it. A chance to get a random item every time you use it is WAY too powerful. There is only ever upside with this random item, and if you get a brand new part with it, GG. 24 seconds of 25% haste potentially is absolutely broken as well. I get that people like the quirky design of it, but, these design problems cant really be fixed. Either BT would need to be changed or nerfed again and brand new parts removed from the perk or the perk itself needs to do something totally different.

What are you on about ? The haste effect is 2 seconds not 12. You can't use it with BT because you need to be healthy. The probability of getting a BNP is 0.0045 and you can't get it twice in a row, so it's a 0.0045 chance every 80 seconds assuming you're always healthy, the killer has no exhaustion add-on / perk and you spam the perk instead of using it when it's useful.

    Also, BT is fine.

Huh??? Charlotte will cross any map in the time it takes for a totem or gate to be finished?? That doesn't even apply to some of the smaller maps. You're talking like Charlotte just stands there untill Victor gets crushed. Most of the time I see survivors wait untill I've picked up a survivor and that gives them ample time to deal with the totem and victor.

Victor isn't just a killing machine, they gave him some utility but then they added a counterplay that's less of a counter and more just removes the entire power

Also, they shouldn't balance the game around solo q when swf exists, that's just buffing swf when it's obviously the more powerful of the two. A single surv can deal with victor anyway, albeit less effectively then two

Well if you're not aggressively defending your totem/gate or are on one of the huge maps then of course it won't be problem, but those cases wouldn't be affected if the mechanic was removed because the killer wouldn't bother or be able to do anything about it anwyay.

also if "they shouldn't balance the game around solo q when swf exists, that's just buffing swf when it's obviously the more powerful of the two" I better not catch you complaining about anything that's too strong against weaker killers but is fine against Blight, Nurse and Wesker then 😇

    1. Yes a weaker sb but has no prerequisites besides being healthy, 99ing sb can be inefficient. Not to mention this would be the second time this effect would happen after activating the perk
    2. You would never pop the perk if it was a question the killer could hit you within 12 seconds of doing so. Ex: making a longwall window which is safe vs most killers for 12 seconds that can hit you with a basic attack
    3. Your so called best case scenario will be the more common than any other and screaming is no big deal if you are consciously making the diction to do so.
    4. You aren't losing the item though, just dropping it for the time being.

All of the downsides can be mitigated with thought and skill. Think of all the high A/S tier killers and ask yourself how many can down you with a basic attack via their power.

SB is stronger than Dramaturgy's activation speed boost + speed boost effect, 99% or not does not matter, you can also get SB while injured, and being healthy is not an easy prequisite in the current meta (even less when the perk could make you drop your med-kit)

"All the downsides can be mitigated with thought and skill" yes so ? A really good survivor won't have problems with the perk and that's normal. It's still a survivor perk, I'm not sure why people are acting like because it's fun it should be either be useless or literally a killer perk.

Ok so lets get this straight. You think a guaranteed speed boost of 25% for 2 seconds leading up to a 1 in 4 chance of either a strong item, a scream that means nothing because you are already in chase, another 25% speed boost for 2 seconds and the last being the only real downside of exposed.

Perk is 100% A tier no contest. A good survivor would never pop the perk if they didn't KNOW they would make it to safety on the chance they got exposed.

It's no god validation dh but it's not to be underestimated at all.

I already did a quick breakdown of the effects earlier so I'm not going to do it again, but I disagree about it being A tier.

Considering you need to be healthy (and non-exhausted) and the best effect you can get is a weaker effect of a perk you can also use while injured, and you can't even get it twice in a row, I would say it's only A tier in fun. Like, depending on your luck it can be really good perk or pretty useless one, so in average it's going to be well, just good.

It genuinely feels like a lot of people are complaining about it (and calling it OP and comparing it to old DH) simply because "survivors like it so it must be OP!" or because they don't understand that it's a meme perk but it's still a survivor perk so of course it's going to be survivor sided, and it's weird to to think meme/fun perks should be bad.

I agree it's definitely not going to be a bad perk at all, but it'll never be as good (and definitely not as convenient) as SB so people will go back to it after the fun wears out. I'd say B tier probably. Can go up to A tier if you get an insane item + add-ons but can easily waste a perk slot if you get bad & useless effects.

  • Love how you say "reduces Victor into a killing machine" as if that wasn't what he's supposed to be.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't want survivors to be able to counter a playstyle that literally consists of just putting Victor somewhere so survivors can't do a totem or open the gates.

And your work around idea is not realistic. Even imagining that solo q survivors suddenly develop telepathy, if you bring two survivors Victor is either going to grab someone and you can't kick him or down someone and you can kick him. In either those cases Charlotte will show up before you get the totem / gates done so you lost a health state (or even hook state) for nothing and Charlotte can even slug the first one, put down Victor again and go after the second survivor.
