99'ing gates is something that has come up often, and regressing those gates was something that was tested internally and decided against.
EGC is not there to help either side - it's to prevent situations where the games could last forever by being taken over in a hostage situation, old hatch standoffs etc. That's why the ability is there for the killer to open the gate, so if you're having a hard time and just want that match to be over, you have that option.
99'ing the gates is a tactic that has risks attached to it (especially in solo queue), as if someone is injured and being chased and then they run to the gate, they still have the animation of having to work on the switch, and they're also out of position to get through the gates.
Prior to EGC survivors could just open the gates and do whatever, now they can't so there's more pressure on them when the gates are open - that's purely for the hostage situations. As a killer you can force these survivors out, you can choose to break pallets on the map, you can wait out the timer (same as a survivor has to wait out the timer being slugged at the end of the match).
I agree with everything except the third paragraph. The microsecond of pulling a 99.99% gate hardly matters.

Add Ada Wong to DBD as a legendary cosmetic

Mr. Puddles will be mine

Seems like BHVR listened. I didnt play DBD for nearly a year and came back two weeks ago. The difference is noticeable. Much more smooth now.
Room for improvement though.
-
iirc BHVR's Twitter said to give feedback to Netflix about Stranger Thing's inclusion.
So uh, this was pretty much out of BHVR's power. It might've been a part of the contract or just a more unique circumstance. Makes me wonder if every IP in Dbd can just be pulled like that per request.

Okay I'll give my thoughts and the reason why in brackets:
- Trapper smells like tar ("Tar Bottle" add-on) and leather ("Trapper Gloves", "Trapper Bag", and "Trapper Sack" add-ons).
- Wraith smells like paint ("Swift Strikes" and "The Owl" cosmetics) and wax ("Wax Warlock" cosmetic).
- Hilbilly smells like corn and smoky fumes from his chainsaw.
- Nurse would smell of wood (not sure why lol) and ash (since she spends a lot of time in the now burned-down Crotus Prenn Asylum).
- Huntress smells of rose tea ("Rose Root" add-on) and forest.
- Shape definitely smells of dust and latex (I believe his mask is latex although I could be wrong?).
- Hag smells of broccoli ("Exposed Floret" cosmetic) and swamp water.
- Doctor smells acrid, like burning plastic or warm fish (overheating electrical components sometimes give off these smells).
- Cannibal smells of spicy chili ("Award-Winning Chili" add-on) and grease ("The Grease" add-on).
- Nightmare smells of propanone ("Paint Thinner" add-on) and cardboard (he just gives off cardboard vibes ngl).
- I want to say bacon for The Pig but she'd probably smell more like decanoic acid (which smells rancid).
- Clown probably smells of ethoxyethane ("Ether 15% Vol" add-on) and ammonium hydroxide ("Spirit of Hartshorn" add-on).
- Spirit smells of bamboo ("Gifted Bamboo Comb" add-on) and cherry blossoms ("Dried Cherry Blossom" add-on).
- Legion smells of dirt ("Cold Dirt" add-on) and angst.
- Plague would absolutely stink of butanoic acid (which smells strongly of vomit).
- Ghostface smells of masculine cologne ("Lasting Perfume" and "Cheap Cologne" add-ons).
- Demogorgon probably smells like wet dog... I love Demo but I don't imagine he smells nice </3.
- Oni would smell metallic (because he wears a lot of armor) and like wet rope (can't really explain this, I just get that vibe from him).
- Deathslinger smells dusty and like whiskey ("Gold Creek Whisky" add-on).
- I feel like Pyramid Head smells stony, like cold rocks, if that makes any sense?
- Blight would smell of white lilies, but like REALLY strongly to the point of it being like musty and choking. The pollen gets absolutely EVERYWHERE and has a pretty overpowering smell IMO.
- Twins would smell of stale bread ("Stale Biscuit" add-on) and sewer water.
- Trickster <3 would smell of tequila ("Tequila Moonrock" add-on) and probably expensive cologne.
- Nemesis would smell of internal organs ("Brian's Intestine" and "Zombie Heart" add-ons).
- Cenobite probs smells like insects ("Lively Crickets" and "Wriggling Maggots" add-ons) and musty attics.
- Artist smells of charcoal ("Charcoal Stick" add-on), ink ("Darkest Ink" add-on) and oil paints ("Oil Paints" add-on).
- Sadako probs stinks of stagnant water and greasy hair...
People sexify Pig a lot but she wears a literal decapited pig head. Amanda is straight up rancid.

I've always been in support of a second Survivor objective.

Can we assume that serious consideration is being given to upgrade to UE5? It seems that opens up huge possibilities for optimisation?
Upgrading to a whple new engine would take a brand new game to happen

The steep learning curve and grind is what sucks players in. BHVR's business model is working

Clown as long as he keeps a mask on

Maybe not perfect, but updating the hud to show activity is a great step imo

Here we go again.
Survivor perk: Finishing Touch
When chased by the Killer for 30 seconds, Finishing Touch activates.
Stunning the killer with a pallet will increase the stun duration by 100%
Has a cooldown of 80/70/60 seconds

Dwight is the true main character of Dbd

This thread is pretending that Legion has tiny buffs. A downing 5th hit and gradual speed increases aren't small. Those can add into the overall pressure Legion can impose on a team. Don't forget the add-on changes also. Otzdarva made a video laying out some interesting combinations you can make with them now.
Overall, I'm excited with this direction of Legion. They needed it.
-
@Yatol said:
The thing about Otzdarva despite how good he is, he isn't the best or has fully mastered the game. (and TBH DBD doesn't feel like game that's worth mastering)
You don't need an absolute master at a multiplayer to decide how good a character is. If Otzdarva nor other players cant make her work then that's pretty telling.
There can be character breakthroughs though with time. But idk about Sadako.

The recent controversy over Patrick's comments embarrasses me; it just highlights the mob-mentality of the DBD community and I absolutely empathise over why the devs refuse to comment on matters...

Winning/losing isnt very black and white in DBD. No kills is still a major loss even if you get 8 hooks. One kill is still a loss but not a total failure. Two kills is more average, a bit of a draw. Not really a win or loss. Three kills is leaning on a win, but not a grand victory. Four kills is you completely outplaying the survivors and having the glory all for you.

Both base Huntress and Baba Yaga got new music at the same time. The only issue was that the base Huntress music was bugged/delayed when the skin was released. It got fixed next hotfix and included the new music. That's why it wasn't there initially.
But no unique chase theme for Huntress? It's her time BHVR. Give her one!

As we've said in the past, things like this are not solely down to us and as such we cannot promise that will ever happen. As we've seen with the cross progression for Switch it's a complicated situation with many factors involved. So we are unable to give an ETA on cross progression or even confirm if it will ever happen.
How does cross-play exist when cross-progression doesn't?

does it really matter if it happened?
it easily could have, and BHVR didn’t add a warning while aware of this issue for a long time. And they haven’t fixed it nor have they actually replied to this issue afaik. And they have actually replied to and fixed issues with the Onryo and photosensitivity issues on PTB,..
Yes it could happen but its also pretty bad to lie about a serious event to warrant a change for a game.

There are three main reasons why I don't think FNAF will be in DBD.
1.) Poor Gameplay Transfer
I was a kid in 2014 and I played the original FNAF. Didn't like it, I wasn't really into horror at the time. From my recollection, it was pretty much just jumpscares. That doesn't really translate over very well to DBD. I'm sure they could do it, but it'd be a bastardization at best.
2.) FNAF's Community
I am sure BHVR is perfectly aware of the reputation that DBD has in regards to its community. While certainly not the worst out there (looking at you LoL) it's definitely not considered a great one by any stretch of the imagination. BHVR would definitely have to consider FNAF's community's horrible reputation.
3.) Controversy
The creator of FNAF has been involved with several controversial incidents that could upset a lot of minority groups that play DBD. Considering that the chapter would come in or around June (Pride Month) and considering what the creator of FNAF was involved in, it'd be a huge slap in the face.
To be frank, number 3 is the only valid point. Fnaf is centered around jumpscares but it became less about that on its 5th game. I've never played Silent Hill, but I hear people talk about how original (yet true to his character) Pyramid Head's power is and people love it. You can't just assume how precisely a character can work in DBD. BHVR finds a way to make it interesting (usually).
A more valid reason (imo) is that the animatronics designs may not fit dbd. Yes Trickster exists but Fnaf 1's models were made using a 2000s laptop with a cheap 3D model maker. Let that sink in.
-
Woah. Dedication.

Thank you for the laugh
-
Ringu was cool. Im happy Sadako's in the game. Sadly Resident Evil/Silent Hill are IPs that gamers are more familiar with so thats why they attract new players.
With that being said, what other game IPs could help boost the playerbase? Don't say Bioshock or Dead Space.

Not to mention you will have to grind for months just to get the perks you want as a new player
Removing perk tiers is technically not a permanent fix, but it could solve problems.

Pig, Legion, and Freddy are all are other killers with weak anti-loop where they have built in slow down that helps to make up the distance for their weak chase. Do you think that Onyro's chase ability is better than any of these killers? What about their slow-down? Does Onyro have better Slow down then Legions mending or Pig's head traps or Freddy's alarm clocks?
Freddy is the closest killer that I could compare to her, he has better mobility where he can teleport directly to generators rather than an RNG chance of getting near a generator. HIs stealth is comparable in the sense that he can't be seen from a distance and while in the dream world he has a lullaby, and he has snares, which Onyro has almost nothing in chase. If you try to manifest and demanifest at a loop that's extremely risky because you're slowing yourself down and you can only do that at loops that were always loops that could be mind gamed. Try that trick at shack or on one of the million safe pallets in the game.
Onyro is the weakest killer in DBD. She is worse than Freddy before his rework, she is worse than Wraith or Clown even before they got buffed. She is pathetically weak.
If a killer is weak then yeah they should be buffed but my point was that it's okay for a killer to have flaws. It helps add counterplay and makes the cast of killers diverse mechanically.

There isn't enough time for three other survivors to do all gens and escape especially if the killer brought Deadlock + No Way Out to use with NOED (Also not enough time to cleanse all 5 totems to prevent NOED).
Face camping with Bubba is the easiest way to guarantee zero effort kills that's why so many killers are doing it lately and it's why cannibal has such high kill rates but nobody wants to talk about all of that.
Just do gens and leave 4head
I honestly just play something else bcuz it seems like killers don't want you to even play the game anymore.
They do, but they want to win. Players will resort to cheap and easy strategies to secure an advantage. Happens in every multiplayer game.
