Ngl, I have thrown more matches doing survivor challenges, like the self care one within 10 meters of a killer
that one was easy, just got injured at some point, healed to 99%, got next to the killer when he was carryig someone else and healed
-
yeah...took me a while to realize that it was another person
I honestly used to think the guy was popping from a washing machine
(quick reminder that I play on console, so the screen is not as close as you might think)
-
*load in match
"ok, gotta find the red gliph"
*passes by 3 gens
*1 gen is done
"here here gliphy... common"
"oh hey, a totem"
*2 more gens are done
"well I'm here, might aswell get the rescue"
*gliph appears next to hook
"oh hey!"
*gets gliph
-
maybe... demo got the pallet break...after a while...
-
I never tried it... but it should go to 100% unless they healed themselves 1 second with self-care or something

@Weck I mean I'm looking at these perk rework concepts as if MMR was actually good So for Noed if you were a rank 1 killer going against rank 20 survivors than they would just get destroyed, but if your a rank 1 killer going against rank one survivors than you must work for what your trying to achieve, which is Noed, but you need to go for Hooks, Chases, etc.
and as for Insidious its the same thing if your a rank one killer going against rank 20 survivors then they would just get destroyed as well, but if your a rank 1 killer going against rank 1 survivors then if you go for Hooks and all that then you get rewarded with undetectable after the last gen is complete to try to obtain a comeback.
I think its just overall matchmaking that makes this concept not work, but that's just my opinion.
you created two perks that only ever do anything if you are already winning, but don't do anything to help if you're losing.
congratulations, you made noed, a perk that barely does anything at high ranks, utterly useless.
and you changed insidious, the perk only low ranks even bother using, into a perk nobody would use because it basically does nothing.
it's not a matter of opinion, it's bad design.
matchmaking could be anything you want, your idea is still bad.
-
so noed will only activate when you are already crushing the game anyway?
same thing for insidious, but you also must somehow let all the gens be done while crushing the survivors...
that's just terrible design

Just one thing I want changed for Hag is her traps. You can only destroy them with a flashlight light which you almost never bring it unless your doing saves or archives.
Make it so like trapper you can disarm her trap by kneeling down and wiping the Trap. Give her a notification that it happened .
I'm tired of me crouch walking to a Hooked Survivor only for them to run and active the Trap
can we please not make killers lose their powers just because?

Diversity? You mean not anymore 90% Claudette/Meg/Nea?
yes. it will be 99% whichever survivor is considered the best.
whatever diversity exists now, will be gone.

A change in the behaviour of a killer in a match. And how many people really do it (based on a sample size of matches ofc)
if you anger someone they act differently. it's well known.
you are not gonna discover anything new, also, you don't have a control group to compare to

no.
it would kill survivor diversity

I play blight and do just fine.
doing just fine on console is a lot less than doing average on pc.
you can play the game, obviously. but the inconsistent fps and bad sensitivity are a thing that exists and you can't just pretend they don't affect the game

So I'm trying to learn how to play Oni, so I can do better agasint him as survivor and I feel like when I'm playing him I can't turn right when I'm running with demon fury. So my question is, is that meant to happen, so it forces me to try mind game survivors round a loop or is just because I'm on console with a bad flick or no flick? I'm really not sure, but want to understand it, incase I need to be turning right when I'm getting chased by an Oni π. I know there are certain loops that Oni has trouble on anyway, with or without experience. Can somebody help me please? β€
you can kinda flick with oni on console. it's not as precise as pc, but it's doable.

Nah the main issue with controller Blight is that the sensitivity on the lunge is borked and doesn't allow you to really adjust mid-lunge. Meaning you have to full commit to a direction with no way of flicking (or whatever you want to call the controller equivalent) and you don't even get nearly as much of an angle as M&K Blight players can with medium-high DPI. The sensitivity while rushing is mostly fine, though I personally think it still needs to be upped a smidge. There's something to be said in that controllers are still inherently less precise and controller Blight is naturally harder, but I'm very confident that improvements can be made to make the experience more on par with that of M&K.
Mandy's actually in the process of gathering as much information about the issues with controller Blight to pass off and make a stronger case to the team. I'm in the process of gathering my own clips and drafting a thread to make said information as clear and concise as possible, and I'm aiming for this Tuesday to get it all out at the latest.
So if anyone wants to provide some video feedback to add to that, LMK so I can @ you when I make the thread and you can add in your own clips.
and we really shouldn't have to pull a video showing we can't turn the character in any useful way. because it should be very obvious!

Right, and this is coming from the guy whose best argument is "you know x, y and z."
I'll be waiting for when you get a real refutation, or until the universe collapses in on itself. Whichever comes first.
"you know x, y and z"?
my argument is that hooks are just as important to killers as they are to survivors... what are you smoking?

@ShamelessPigMain said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2016632#Comment_2016632
Well as I said multiple times, in case you happen to be blind, the loss of dying is much more important to the survivor team, especially when they can be removed in parts (removing individual sections lets you snowball much better than by having to chip away at the whole team until collapses at once).
And I'm not moving the goal post as much as you are trying to narrow the field. There are always multiple reasons for any given goal.
I know you wanna pretend that not losing is somehow more important than winning. but it isn't. in fact, it's the same.
you do not have an argument. just stop.

@ShamelessPigMain said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2016272#Comment_2016272
I'm sure to take this from the guy who hasn't even made a single cogent argument this entire conversation.
The simple fact is that a survivor-esque hook counter isn't necessary for killers. If you're good enough to need a hook counter, you're going to already be able to tabulate hooks , and you just need the net sum as a nice little helper. If you're not good enough and you need the hook counter, the game is essentially just giving you directions on who to tunnel.
no no no. don't move the goal post.
"hooks concern the survivors more than the killer"
this is incorrect. that's it.
hooks to a killer are just as important as they are to a survivor.
-
@ShamelessPigMain said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2016167#Comment_2016167
Not necessarily. People care more about not losing than necessarily winning, and hooks are the mechanisms by which survivors lose. Killers win via the hooks, but as stated before, it's more important not to lose than it is to win, especially in a community as toxic as this.
no. you're reaching, and you know it.
-
@ShamelessPigMain said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2015641#Comment_2015641
Hooks are also how you lose the game as survivor. To the killer, as long as you get sacrifices you're done. It doesn't matter who. To survivors, who need to be more cooperative and altruistic by the very nature of there being 4 of them, it's more important to have that information to juggle who should take on the killer.
"hooks concern the survivors more than the killer"
that statement is still wrong

The thing about doing something like this is that it would widen the gap between solo and SWF, which the game really doesn't need at the moment.

Well I think the idea was that killers have a separate perspective from survivors, and since hooks concern the survivors more than the killer, it was just a minor QoL disadvantage.
"hooks concern the survivors more than the killer"?
hooks is literally how you win the game as killer...

Games get ruined through a few people yelling and complaining on twitter, or forums.
I just know that even in purple ranks, at rank 6, it's pretty certain as a survivor in solo that my team with 90% not make it. And even with teammates I know it's not too much higher.
I'm glad to hear your perspective, most threads I see pop in my Google news feed are from killers complaining, even more then survivors. But maybe I am misjudging
you only have a 10% escape rate?
dude... I gladly trade with someone else so they escape and I die on hook, and my escape rate is 12/26 or 46%. (I have been keeping track of my games lately, I also have this from a while ago

Kinda like I did here
But more and better.
On ps4, from rank 13 to rank 3. Total of 87 matches. Was expecting rank to reset today, (for some reason) and was gonna do a final push to 100... but now I can't. Oh well...
First, which killers I faced and how many times
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/464/J2WQ6VTEXPGS.png
And just like last time, no hag...
Edit: doctor number is incorrect, it's supposed to be 4 matches
But...a lot of spirit and demo(which makes sense)
Because ranks were weird, heres a graph for the difference in rank between me and the killers
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/128/WI78LXRFH2JE.png
The "-" made the numbers be in italic... but everything on the left of 0 is supposed to be negative, meaning the killer was higher ranked than me by that amount.
Positive numbers mean I was higher ranked by that amount.
And the hardest graph to see because of the amount of things, which perks the killers used?
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/213/PTA482BXYV7J.png
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/712/1IYNW5XUF0RV.png
Both versions here, choose your favorite. I think both are hard to see...
Ruin is king, surprising no one... mostly thanks to spirit, since it was used 11 out of the 12 times I faced her
But still 51 times out of 87 matches, 58.62% of the games, quite impressive.
Now, what were the killers average kills?
(Because sometimes I ######### up, the numbers aren't exact in some cases)
Freddy- 2.83 kills per match
Wraith- 3.25
Trapper- 2.5
Leatherface- 3
Doctor- 1.75
Hillbilly- 2.16
Michael Myers- 3.44
Legion- 1.33
Huntress- 3.33
Pig- 3 to 4 (######### up)
Ghostface- 2.07 to 2.64 (######### up)
Demogorgon- 2.41
Nurse- 2.66
Clown- 2.5
Plague- 1.66
Spirit- 2.66
So, in certain numbers, it's Michael, but if pig got at least 2 kills in the 1 game I didn't write down the results, she's the queen.
Legion being the bottom guy/gal (except for hag who doesn't exist, apparently)
That's all I'm putting here, at least for now.
But I am gonna say exactly what I wrote from each game (most of the time at least). So if you want any specifics, feel free to ask.
My rank, perks, item and addons, if I survived, when I died(gens based), pip, if hatch was used or not(by me, mostly), how many bloodpoints I got in each category each game.
The killer rank, perks, addons, kills, gens sucessfully protected, if noed(if used) activated, if mori was used and when.
The Map, how many DC's( and against who)
So..
Thoughts?
where my survival rate was around 35%)
and I'm terrible at chases, I can properly loop individual structures, but I suck at linking them together.
point is... you need to get better at the game.

Deathslinger, Demo, Pig, PP Head, Myers, Ghostface, Oni.
that's a hard choice. all of them are a lot of fun... besides demo...I think he's a tier of fun below the rest on this list.
I would check their perks to see which you rather have.
deathslingers perks are meh at best.
Demo's are bad with the exception of surge, which is half way decent.
Pig has 2 great perks, one of them being amazing paired with ruin, and also hangmans trick. which is absolute #########.
PP head has the most fun stealth perk in the game imo, trail of torment is so good. but the other 2 are meh.
Myers has STBFL, which is amazing. FWYF which can be good. and dying light...which is bad and only matters when you are already winning anyway.
Ghostface has I'm all ears, which is an amazing aura perk. thrilling tremors which is great for tracking. and furtive chase which no one has been able to find a use for besides michi on a very specific hag build.
Oni's perks are...there... nemesis being the one you'll probably find some use for.
So I would go ghostface.

Oh yay I'm so glad you didn't leave I've been having fun. π
But either way both sides can choose to either play a match or not if they don't want to no matter what affect it has on anyone else. If the killer wants to lobby dodge or go afk all match they can and they do no matter how annoying that is to myself or anyone else. And any survivor can suicide on the hook and decide that they don't want to play that match for whatever reason they want to no matter how annoying that is for anyone else either. Both happen and both will continue to happen. It's just one of those things cutie π
and we are back to saying nothing at all and pretending it somehow matters...
let me just repeat until you understand
DC penalty exists.
there is no penalty for lobby dodging.
DC ruins the match for 4 people
lobby dodging only delays a match for at max 10 seconds
DC wastes several minutes of everyone involved.
lobby dodging does not
you should stop adding extra things, it's not helping you. killer being afk is punisheable aswell

@Alionis said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/234039/show-killers-pregame
For quite a while after the game's launch, it used a steam-internal matchmaking system. While you couldn't see the killer in the lobby either at that time, it allowed survivors to look up who the killer was by telling steam to show you the people you recently played with. It was then a simple matter of comparing the list with the survivors you saw in the lobby to deduce who was the killer in that lobby. Looking through that killer's achievements then gave you a pretty good idea of which killer was most likely their main and then you could prepare for that.
It created a lot of grief in those days and ultimately led to the devs asking steam to disable the feature for Dead by Daylight and eventually to them switching to their own matchmaking servers.
you can do that on ps4. "recently played with" or something like that.
I don't bother doing that but... it is a thing (or at least was before we got to play against other platforms)

Suiciding on the hook has no penalty and no matter what affect either has the principle of the matter is that if one side can refuse to go against something then so can the other. And whether you like it or not this has always happened and this will continue to happen and there's nothing you can do about it π
But bye then I guess if you've accepted that if one side does something then so can the other no matter who thinks what about it on either side.
let's break this down, see if you understand
if one side can refuse to go against something then so can the other
yes, both sides can decide to not go against something.
And whether you like it or not this has always happened and this will continue to happen and there's nothing you can do about it
people being babies online was never in question.
no matter what affect either has
this is the part you don't get. the effect they have, IS what makes them different.
if someone decides to DC during a match and ruin it for everyone else involved, they are the AH. no buts, no ifs. they are the worst.
if someone decides to lobby dodge, sure it also sucks, but the effect is so minimal it doesn't matter.

You think I'm annoyed lol that's cute more amused lol. But yet again if the killer gets to choose that they don't want to go against something then the survivor can run to a hook and suicide on it if they want to do the same.
if I want to get money and steal from a guy, is it the same as if I want money and kill a guy to steal from him?
because you keep saying that because the intent is the same, the 2 actions are the same. they are not.
and they will never be.
If you wanna complain about killer lobby dodging, go do that.
but it's not the same as DCing on a match or suiciding on hook.

As I said survivors can't see the killer so that's the next best thing.
but hey let's make it so survivors can see the killer so they can just dodge the lobby instead like they can. Oh no wait they refuse to do that because they think survivors will dodge certain killers proving that they think it's okay for one side to do it but not the other.
So if the killers can not go against what they don't like then so can the survivors and if they don't want to go against it they always will and there's nothing you can do about it.
I love how annoyed you get from me doing exactly the same thing you kept doing...
the reason survivors can't see the killers is because they would hard counter their powers.
and again, lobby dodging =/= DC. and no matter what arguments you may think you have, they are just not the same thing. It doesn't matter what the reason for doing them is, the acts are not the same.

Just one minor thing. If the killer DC's, everyone is set free from the game, and it counts as an escape, so if it's early enough in the game that's a guaranteed Iridescent Unbroken emblem and a safety pip so no ranks are lost.
you still wasted a bunch of time in the match and lost your offering. it's bad to DC either way.

DCing during a match isn't

Survivors can't see the killer in the lobby so it isn't the same unless they could. If it's okay for one side to not go against stuff they don't like than it is for the other aswell and to think otherwise is very hypocritical.
if the survivor wants to lobby dodge, go for it.
DCing is bad for both sides
-
if someone is a killer main, people will look at the name and realize what they are playing against.
which could lead to people hard-countering the killer.
as in, they know is the guy who plays doctor a lot, so they bring jake's perk.
also, if the killer is a streamer, the survivors will be able to track him/her/they very fast. and again, hard counter
I don't really see a point in knowing the survivors name before-hand either... so I'm not against removing that
