This answer was copy-pasted from a response I made to a previous discussion because I can't be bothered to re-iterate myself a million times.
Every license that has been added to this game is either from an incredibly iconic horror film, or a video game that defined the genre. The only exception to this is Stranger Things, which itself is a spin on the slasher genre and is generally inoffensive, while I love it's inclusion in this game whether or not it actually belongs here is a whole other debate. The point is that every license that has been added has been in mostly good standing with the general horror community, and fits logically within the game. This game started off as a love letter to classic slashers, and while it has branched off slightly, it is still much of the same. FNAF is a game that revolves around an incredibly hated element of horror, jump scares. In most peoples opinion a jump scare needs to be earned within the context of a film and random ones that are shoehorned in are generally unnecessary and lazy. Now combine that way of thinking with an entire game whose only horror element is jump scares and it's no surprise that people hate it.
Whether or not people think FNAF is actually horror is a massive debate but really doesn't matter within the context of this argument. I could talk about how the whole community is comprised of children which is the last thing DbD needs but that has been said a million times before, what I'm trying to get at is adding a game that relies on cheap horror, to a roster of horror icons, is insulting. I personally don't think that the concept even fits within this game and could be done correctly but that's not why I have a problem with it, it's because of how much of an insult it would be, to have a chuck e cheese animatronic amongst some of the best horror movies ever created. That's why I hate it.
or a video game that defined the genre.
so FNAF fits.
In most peoples opinion a jump scare needs to be earned within the context of a film and random ones that are shoehorned in are generally unnecessary and lazy.
2 things
1 - have you watched the classic slashers and other horror movies? they have a bunch of "unearned" jump scares. this is just looking for excuses against FNAF...
2 - FNAF has earned jumpscares (besides the 20/20/20/20 modes, which are way too random). a jumpscare is a failure. So you only get them when you screw up.
Whether or not people think FNAF is actually horror is a massive debate
it isn't a debate. it's horror.
what I'm trying to get at is adding a game that relies on cheap horror, to a roster of horror icons, is insulting
so it's just elitism? that's your reason? wow... grow up.

New change: Trapper now has a power gauge! Each trap set completely depletes it, you may only have four traps active at a time, and the gauge takes seventy seconds to recharge!
Edit: I'm clarifying, this's sarcastic--I'm aware that it's not a great change.
Still, the thought made me laugh, so I thought I'd share.don't give them ideas

I love how BT, the anti-tunneling Perk, is most often used to force the Killer to tunnel so that both Survivors can get off scott-free.
My philosophy is simple: If you force me to hit you while BT is up, well, BT is anti-tunnel, right? That obviously means I'm tunneling. So let's go ahead and tunnel you into the ground.
honestly, these are so annoying.
"ok, let me go for the unhooker. you go heal or do whatever unhooked guy"
*unhooked decides to bodyblock
"you...MF..."
or one that actually happened yesterday, I think...
I chased someone, hooked them.
go check a gen I knew was being fixed awhile ago, found a wounded david working on it, chase him a bit, down him, pick him up and get DS.
at that point, he choose death.
so glad DS is getting the change...

the ones I got on the first try.

this tuesday or the one after that. no one knows the exact date yet (no one that is allowed to say it at least)

well. just got in a match against a huntress, 1k, exactly 4 hooks in the match. and david only died because she hard camped him on his second hook.
pretty good job so far.
well...time to play a killer match
edit - and judging by the time of my comments... match lasted less than 10 min
ok, also had a bubba match. I believe these were the easiest saws I ever did.
10 hooks total, would be 11, but I devour hope'd the last one. they finished 4 gens. (I only use devour for the insta downs and as a time waster for the survivors)

2k or 0k/8hooks and/or length of match. Longer matches can mean more balance. "Gen Rush" or matches done excessively quick could mean bad matching between survivors and killer.opposite end is short matches with 4k with minimal gens done.

I literally have headphones connected to my controller and watch videos on youtube until I'm in a match.
so I don't really listen to the menu music

Load in and find a pallet right away, drop it, reset it, then camp it for the killer. Take a hit if you have to and play the entire rest of the game like normal. This one was easier for me than the "reset a pallet within 10m of the killer"
Alsi, the Jailbreak challenge doesn't require them to wiggle off, if you get a pallet save, flashligh save, or the killer just sets them down while you're close and have breakout it'll award you the challenge.
wish I knew that before I fully commited to a WGLF, mettle of man, breakout build.
either way, got it. XD
-
here's how I did it. I saw another survivor drop a pallet. the killer didn't kick it and continued the chase.
I lifted that up while the other person was getting downed. after hooking her, the killer came to the pallet(it was close, I was visible) and I got the stun.
I also had about 4 other pallets that I dropped out of chase and lifted back up. but I ended up not needing them.
it's a lot easier than you might think.

also, you should watch more star wars media, what I said is nowhere near how yoda speaks

really cool.
I am currently doing something similar. but it looks less interesting.
a couple thing I'm collecting that you aren't is, ranks of everyone in the match, bloodpoints of everyone, gens left by the end, total hooks and hatch escapes (also if I pipped or not)

Yes I can because my Internet is pristine and nobody has ever complained. Are you sure you're not the baghdad battery pig?
The only killer I have trouble against is pig and that's because every pig I face will just tunnel the one person trying to get a trap off them or have a baghdad battery connection.
sure thing mate.

You seem to be looking for it to be a saying. So that is what it must be.
I see you didn't actually understand.
you should have said. "So that is what you see", not "what it must be".
reality doesn't change because we want it to. we just get a wrong perception of it because of our biases.

Yeah it was personal observations, and I was asking if it was different for other people.
Holy crap I never realized it would make people this salty. Maybe I can get a Mod to close the thread, I wasn't expecting people to take it so seriously.
and now you are looking for salt, so that's what you see.
I was justing speaking matter of factly... that's a saying right?

No because the pallet is dropped on me and I don't get the hit so no they don't
so you never got a hit while being hit by a pallet? ever?

This is something that I've noticed since I started playing the game 2-3 months ago. And I was wondering what the experience is like for others.
When I play survivor, I've more often than not noticed that people who play a fair game, or who have a sense of sportsmanship gravitate towards certain Killers. The reverse is also true: Toxic D-bags tend to play certain Killers as well.
For example, there are Killers that almost never camp/excessively tunnel (at 4-5 gens- not talking end game) and who I've experienced have given me the hatch, or they seem to have a sense of justice, when they have noticed I was stuck with selfish team mates.
Then there are certain Killers who I have never seen any such pleasantries. At all. Who will camp/tunnel at 5gens (even at high ranks), and who have never given the hatch or door. INB4, I'm not saying they have to do that. It's just something that after a hard time in Solo queue can be a bit uplifting lol.
Here are my observations:
Killer (in my experience) who play fair, are non-toxic, and can sometimes be "nice":
Plague
Oni
Demogorgon
Doctor
The biggest butthead Killers for me:
Bubba
Ghostface
Myers
Freddy
Huntress
Pig
^ These Killers in my games are more likely to face camp, tunnel, carry you around as last survivor and shut the hatch in your face. I have NEVER been allowed to go with these Killers. I'm not saying I deserve it or it should happen btw,. It's just a thing I notice.
What are your experiences?
a ghostface literally carried me around the entire map yesterday looking for the hatch to give it to me.
I really don't know why you think X killer attracts toxic people, it's all just biased personal observations. You are looking for X killers being toxic, so that's what you see.

In the time it took you to write this you could've found out with a simple google search, but okay.
A Warframe is a character with special abilties that the player controls, and Primed is an upgraded version.
It's really not that difficult of a concept to understand.

I never saw a Trickster lose on the PTB. You can't buff an already strong killer. This is killers only playing him for a few hours. Wait until people main this killer, they'll be no escaping.
it's the other way around. he's new, so the survivors didn't know what to do against him yet.
also, you not watching matches doesn't mean they didn't happen
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bK5TNappBgUalso would like to call attention to 20:35. such a powerful killer

what is the conclusion? I feel like I just read the premises

I never played warframe. I don't know what warframe is.
I don't know what adding a warframe implies on workload.
I don't know what is a primed warframe.
I don't know what adding different mission types mean.
so honestly... I have no idea what I should take from your post besides "these guys have more stuff on a list, therefore the work better and/or more".

since huntress? honey, myers came after huntress.
-
while adding this is a good idea. it won't change what is busted about keys.
you can make it take 20 seconds to open, survivors are still gonna escape no issue.
what I think would really change this, is making it so the key only works for the one using it. and after they jump, the hatch de-spawns and appears somewhere else.
-
while I don't think tru3 is correct, I do see his point.
a game like street fighter for instance, requires game knowledge, obviously, but requires a lot more skill.
while dbd requires skill, but requires a lot more game knowledge.

yeah. the gauge is 100% pointless
