Sounds strong, but that an endgame Perk should be, so I heavily agree! Justice for Fire Up!
-
I'm not sure what to vote, on some maps Boil Over is beyond over powered, especially with SWF. However on other maps it's just mildly inconvenient for the Killer and annoying, but it still doesn't really do anything.
On the maps where the Killer doesn't stand a chance in hooking a Survivor, the best thing they can do is just slug them there, which isn't fun for anyone and just wastes time.

Map offerings should prevent the corresponding realm from showing up instead imo
That's actually a really good idea, I like it!

Boil Over just needs the 25% wiggle progression removed. It's being abused like crazy.
Dead Man's Switch is fine if at least one survivor is focusing on gens.
But without it, Boil Over would just fall back into the shadow realm. If the wiggle progression from falling gets removed, which I think should be done, there should be some different buff to it so it's not completely useless again.
-
I personally think the map offerings should be completely removed, they affect the gameplay too much, but I probably wouldn't mind if they were made secret.
Also if I'm not mistaken, when your game closes while loading into the match, you still get the dc penalty, I'm 100% sure that I got one way back when my game crashed due to some bug.
-
Yea, a few times, I also use it sometimes, it's a really fun Perk when you're the Obsession.

It's her Tome... why wouldn't there be challenges for her. That's how every tome has worked.
Of course, but all Tomes before this one were for original or free characters, locking some challenges behind a paywall for licensed characters would be really bad.
-
I agree, Victor should also be able to vault windows.
-
Don't nerf his base-kit, that's perfectly fine, he takes skill to play and can be outplayed quite easily if you know what you're doing.
His add-ons however need to be toned down a bit, for such a strong Killer having nearly perfect add-ons can be quite oppressing.
-
I agree, very well said!
-
Where would the Perks be shown?
Maybe when looking at match details, it could show each Survivor's Perk loadout, so it doesn't clutter the screen.
-
The question is, how to actually nerf it without killing the perk?

Legion: "Why would you dead hard my frenzy hit?"
I feel that way more than I should. Just... why? I'm guessing they don't know how Frenzy works but still.
PTSD from facing the Old Legion probably.

Deathslinger is in a really sad state at the moment, everything he does is extremely slow and good skillful shots are not guaranteed downs like with other Killers.
They need to do a compromise, reduce his Terror Radius to 20 metres like the Huntress has, but give him a 28 meter non-directional lullaby. That was one of his main issues, Survivors not getting enough or no time to react to his approach, am I right?
His reloading speed should be slightly increased along with reducing the miss shot penalty, also all of these actions should have increased movement speed to somewhere between 90 - 100% or 3.6 - 4.0m/s.
-
I wouldn't mind this, it would look a bit strange to see giant white circles in the distance tho.
-
Just make her camping game less strong.
-
I crave for Nikocado Avocado to be the next licensed killer.
-
It was fun while it lasted, but old Balanced Landing had to go. It was too abuseable on certain maps.
Makes you wonder how after nerfing Balanced Landing a few years ago, they would be able to do a similar mistake with Boil Over.

Such an amazing add on that rewards the killer for hitting his ability. To the people who think equipping alchemist ring is just easy win frankly it's not. You're gonna sweat yourself to get these hits in against competent survivors. I suggest playing the killer yourself and learning how there's a lot of Counter play to blight and I'm saying this as a Blight main who plays 70% Survivor these days. Even his techs has a lot of counter play to it you know just leave the loop lol. You're also not going to pressure four healthy individuals without it the cooldown makes it impossible.
I do think Blight tag can be be really strong combined with it though. Maybe blight tag is the problem and I'm fine with thanos snapping it off the game and keep Alchemist on.
The issue I see with Alchemist Ring is that it just removes any breathing time Survivors get against Blight, since normally he goes through a cooldown and then he needs to wait for his power to recharge, you sometimes cannot even get to another tile before he's already on your tail again.
-
I love to discuss about the game and also leave tons of feedback.
-
Maybe they got downed by a special attack, there are a few that don't reveal NOED iirc.
-
*Legion is no longer able to vault pallets in Frenzy. Frenzy movement speed has been increased by 2% to compensate.
Devs probably lmao.
-
*We heared your complaints about Victor being able to slug a lot, we don't support this playstyle anymore, so we decided to increase his successful pounce cooldown to 10 seconds, Charlotte now takes 0.05 seconds less time to awake from her dormant state to compensate*

Nemesis hard tunnels first survivor he sees 90% of the time. Its the only killer you can get DS value consistently across many games
This is actually so common for some reason, they literally throw the game just to tunnel someone out of it.

Descend Beyond is one of my favorites, if there wasn't the tragic Binding of Kin dlc, I would pick that, but year 4 was pretty good overall.
-
Vodka with different flavors is actually pretty good.
-
Please, don't make him a second Freddy, some people like the Legion's playstyle. They should do somethig similar to the Doctor's buff, where they just enhanced his abilities and made them less complicated and smoother to use.
They should remove the few downsides Frenzy has, like the basic attack power gauge penalty. Legion should regain the ability to see blood in Frenzy, they only removed it due to moonwalking, so why not bring it back since that strat no longer exists? It's a no brainer to reduce the Fatigue to 3 seconds, also increasing default Frenzy movement speed would be nice. The power gauge should also start recovering while in Fatigue, like Nurse has.
Reworking add-ons should also be a priority, some of them shouldn't exist, making them more fun to use would also be really cool.
-
They haven't done those in a while iirc, or not any meaningful ones.
-
Well, looks like this patch in terms of balance changes is just a filler, but from what I have read they finally fixed most Nurse's bugs, so there is at least something.

I'm not defending them, I'm saying that the patch isn't an absolute let down because two addons got minor nerfs they didn't really need.
Most of the content is pretty good, it's nice to see weak perks and addons getting buffed, and some of them might actually be usable now. Especially Boil Over and Dead Man's Switch, those might actually be quite strong now.
I completely agree that it's pretty nice to buff weak Perks, it's just the way how they buffed some of them.
Furtive Chase is still a useless Perk with no use other than the Obsession switching.
The buff to Buckle Up doesn't make it good or usable, it still for some reason does have the range limit, and even if that was removed, nobody would use it, because it only gives you information you already know or can guess pretty easily.
Remember Me got a good buff, however there is a much better option that does work on everybody, it's No Way Out...
The buff they gave to Distortion doesn't really solve it's issue, that being finite amount of Tokens. Just make it give you tokens for save unhooks.
Power Struggle buff does only make it stronger with Flip Flop, otherwise I don't see it pretty good on it's own, but I might be wrong.
Coup de Grâce got a good buff, but it's still worse than it's PTB version, and the PTB version wasn't very good either. I wish it would give me more Tokens somehow.
Gearhead, Boil Over and DMS buffs sound interesting tho, the only thing that's exciting about this Developer Update.
-
It should give you a Token back when safely rescuing your teammate from a hook, it's that simple.
If they feel it could get out of hand, they could limit the amount of Tokens you can have at one time.
Or maybe they could just remove the Tokens and make the Perk either activated or deactivated, it starts active at the start of the Trial, it gets deactivated when the Killer sees your aura, it gets reactivated when unhooking your teammates safely.
-
@jesterkind said:
Most of this is pretty good? I mean, sure, nothing's being buffed to particularly amazing levels (save for maybe DMS and Boil Over), but nothing's actually that bad either. Maybe a few addons that didn't need nerfing, but even those haven't been nerfed into the ground, they'll still be usable- and the majority of changes were buffs, too, killer addons overall got buffed.
Some weak perks/addons being buffed and some accessibility options makes for a pretty good patch, to me.
If the nerfs to those add-ons are so minimal, why include them at all in the first place? I don't get it.
The changes seem pretty random, like they literally had to fill the second part of the Dev update somehow really fast, so they just took some random add-ons and nerfed them for the sake of the Dev update only having 5 lines of text without those changes.
-
So, it would be only useful in low mmr matches or against console players?
You cannot really dodge a PC Killer's attack, not even talking about 3 if they at least played the game for a while.
This is not the best way to change Dead Hard imo.
May I suggest something instead?
David is a protector, right? Make it only activate after taking a hit for your teammate, this way you lose a health state to save you friend, but get a boost so you can last longer in a chase.
Maybe it also has some holes in design tho, I just thought about it right now.
-
Completely agree, there are a few decent changes, but otherwise this could have just been a bug fix patch instead of a mid chapter.
-
Those changes are pretty decent and would make Twins so much more enjoyable to play!

A perk that robs the killer of a hook after an earned down just because Kate's ass "wiggles" extra hard is dumb. Niche perk at best, should not work often at all.
@Sakurra said:

Then they should just remove this perk from game and that's it.
Who said it should work often? It should work sometimes, not at all. And by the day, not only Kate can use boil over. 💁
Jane should get extra wiggle progress from dropping.

I swear there are hooks right in the backyards of those houses on Haddonfield that you're talking about. Yeah, dropping from a height adds 25%, but it's still a really short walk probably from that awning to the hook in the yard right?
The Thompson House that the original post mentioned might be trickier.
You're right, but I swear it doesn't spawn there sometimes, there is a basement instead I believe, it could cause some confussion if the range can reach the basement from the top. I think Thompson House does also have a hook right in the corner of the map most of the time, but if I'm just mistaken, it could be really scary.

I don't understand you. You want a perk to be completely useless? Lol. Of course it should work sometimes. You make it sounds like you should never be able to break free from killer's grasp by using this perk. Hilarious.
What do you mean? I just gave an example where this buffed version could be really useful if all stars align, it's not like you will be able to use the 25% wiggle bonus from dropping at all times.

Just to clarify a bit, Blindness works on all auras except the following killer ability auras
- Alarm Clocks
- Cages of Atonement
- Dire Crow Swarms
- Jigsaw Boxes
- Lament Configuration
- Pools of Devotion
But all other auras are hidden from Blind survivors. That includes
- Other survivors in all circumstances (downed, standing, hooked, etc)
- Killers
- Generators (e.g. Better Together aura)
- Items on the ground (e.g. Spinning Top add-on with Victor, they can't see the tool's aura)
- Auras from Maps and perks
- Totems (including Boon totems. Survivors not see the aura of a Boon someone else placed could be a bit handy in the current meta)
There honestly is a lot of aura information that survivors tend to take for granted.
On a tangent, one interesting thing to try also is combine Blindness with killer perks that have a weakness where the survivors see an aura. off hand the ones I can think of would be
- Hex: Plaything normally shows the Oblivious survivor the aura of the totem that's cursing them. Blindness prevents that.
- Rancor normally shows your aura to your Obsession after a gen is completed, but not if they're Blind.
- Trail of Torment makes generators Yellow for survivors as a warning, unless they're Blind.
I'm not saying Blindness is super powerful or anything like that, but it's not useless, especially against solos.
I guess it can be useful with a build around it, but I don't see 30 seconds as being a very huge amount.
Every Blindness Status Effect Add-on should be applied for at least 60 seconds or more, otherwise I just don't see it being very impactful, even against solo q Survivors.
-
Remember Me would still not be used, even tho it will be better, since No Way Out Exists.
Boil Over sounds interesting on paper, let's see if it's still garbage, actually decent, or abusable.
They completely missed the mark with Distortion, it needs to have a way to replenish Tokens, they should have kept or maybe even decreased the amount of base tokens, but make safe unhooks give you tokens back, maybe they could even add a cap for how many tokens you can hold at a time.
Power Struggle, who really cares, without Flip Flop it's nothing anyways.
Wake Up is alright I guess? Lowering the exit game opening time by 5 seconds is alright from some pathetic 3 seconds.
Gearhead sounds really nice, let's see how it goes in the PTB.
Again completely missed what makes Buckle Up useless, unless it reveals the Killer for some unholy amount of time, it won't ever be used. Also why still have the range requirement? Just rework that poor perk.
Coup de Grâce is still meh, I wish there was a way to get more Tokens.
By making Furtive Chase not lose all Tokens doesn't make it a better Perk, it still sucks, the condition is still the same...
Dead Man's Switch actually sounds a bit meta now to be honest, let's wait and see!

That's very illogical if that's the case. Most killer add-ons see a lot use simply because they're other ones aren't very good. Nemesis is a perfect example of that.
I don't really see any other reason for BHVR to nerf these add-ons, they aren't overpowered by any means.
-
The Furtive Chase one is really funny, it's not like anybody would use it after that change, since it's still the same bad perk with the same actually pretty good effect that only activates at a pretty bad time, having lower Terror Radius in chase does literally nothing.
-
Like a few people already said, I also believe it's due to their use amount.
Those add-ons are basically the only ones that are used on them, so someone at BHVR probably though that they must be pretty overpowered if everybody uses them and nerfed them.
I really hope that's not actually the case, since that's pretty stupid.
-
I don't really forgive them for that, it was one of their dumbest decisions, but I'm glad that after nearly two years it actually looks kinda decent, we need to see in the PTB.
-
Just imagine Haddonfield offering, Flip Flop, Unbreakable, Tenacity and Boil Over.
Get downed while vaulting the window on the other side of the balcony, so you get more time recovering while the Killer is wiping their weapon and vaulting the window, they are unable to not drop from a high place while carrying you, so guaranteed 25% bonus to wiggling, add to it the half of already recovered progress you made when the Killer did all the animations and I think you have a pretty decent chance of getting free if the a hook doesn't spawn there.
But that's the most ideal scenario, we would need to see during the PTB if it would actually cause issues, but I see your point.
-
@dugman said:

Actually that 15 second to now 30 second increase in Blindness is a big buff for the add-on. It basically means the survivors are blind twice as long during the match due to the add-on. Now how good or bad you think Blindness is depends on your point of view (it's definitely better against solo players than swfs for example), but if for the sake of argument you think Blindness is a reasonably ok condition to inflict then having twice as much of it is a nice boost.
Double of nothing is still nothing, 30 seconds of Blindness, even applied to solo q Survivors, isn't enough to justify an add-on slot.
You can still see the hook bubble notification when hooking people, also it only gets applied when removing Victor, right? So probably no heavy slug game there. If it applies also while you're bonding with your new best friend Victor, it wouldn't really matter since you're most likely being chased anyways.
So the only thing it can do is prevent usage of aura reading perks, which there are many of them, but not many of them are used from my experience.
-
@dugman said:
Twins add-ons got three buffs, they weren't nerfed across the board.
Well, one of these buffs is actually decent, 45 seconds of exposed is no joke.
But let's actually look at the other "buffs", would you really call a buff 30 seconds of Blindness Status Effect instead of 15 seconds? I don't think so.
I cannot find the third buff tho.
