It's better than Demi Logorgon who feels like she has to go "Reeeeeeeeeeeeeee" after every single smack.
Considering Demi Logorgon is just an apex interdimensional predator animal why in the world is it portrayed screeching off every snack.
It would literally be like if a lion was trying to take down a gazelle but decided to do the roar everytime it clawed at the gazelle or bit it
Some animals do it as a display of domination and threat. Demo is an animal, just one from a different dimension.

The Ghostface Killers in the Scream franchise always clean their knives like that after a kill, eg. this example from Scream 2:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXAkNeridiM
Skip to the very end of the video 6 minutes in.
Though I will say that particular example in Scream 2 definitely seems a lot safer than the animation used in-game, though I certainly wouldn't know.
The Scream killers wipe it with straightened fingers. Ghostface literally grabs the blade and runs his hand down it.

It's probably because the demogorgon is much more controllable for the entity than the other killers. All the other killers are human to some degree, and as such could probably resist the effects of the fog as well as ignore the entity (As shown by Rancor and Devour Dope, especially Michael with the kill survivors addons), and mainly do the entity's bidding because. Demogorgon is fully under the entity's control since it's bestial and was already susceptible to control (probably).

Infectious, Distressing, NOED, and Remember Me is just beautiful.
-
Killer main here, I'd agree it's a bit too much, there should be a pallet per gen, killer shack, and 4 randoms.
-
Adrenaline: I've lost too many survivors because I'd hook them as the final gen pops, they hang for like a full minute and a half, then get saved, gaining a healthstate, their saviours' borrowed time (AKA the 6 yr old's "You didn't hit me nananananana" perk) and if i manage to down them, they're close enough to the gates to either crawl out, or if I pick them up, DS me and just stroll out while I stand there stunned. Also DS, 60s is too long.
I can't remember any killer perks rn but if I do I'll post again.
-
I carry calm spirit because there's a lot of things that make you scream, some more scary then the doc.
I've never had a problem approaching a trap i know is there. If you're complaining that you can't see a trap and thus step on it then that's literally the trapper's job.

That doesn't even make sense. If you are getting the same amount of progression out of the toolbox then it's like they did nothing, however what they did do was make it even faster than that. So now you get more progression then toolboxes would do before, faster, and keep the item if you use the last of it's charges.
In testing me and my friends found it that 3 gen's and a half of a 4th gen could be done with 4 yellow toolboxes running socket swivel and wire spool in the time it takes clown to reach survivors across Thompson House, thats 2 on one gen, 1 on another gen, and 1 on another gen from the beginning. The 2 moving onto the next nearest gen after the first one is complete. You consider that a nerf? When before it would only be 2 gens, or 1 gen and most of a second gen?
That to me sounds like the addons haven't been balanced to the toolboxes' new function yet.

Actually i still do 4k on red/purple rank, but it because survivors lack of experiance against Legion (as surv i see Legion only once for two months) and do mistakes much often. Legion still an weak killer who need few buffs and revert some nerf changes.
Legion is a B tier in my opinion. A good legion loadout, a little skill, and you have a Legion capable of doing the pigs job but better.

The problem is that the killer can do terrible and get free kills because of noed. The killer doesn't have to do anything to activate it. Maybe it should be changed to where the killer has to hook all survivors for it to work. Something needs to be done. It's not always easy to take out all of the totems when playing solo.
Same argument for DS. You got hooked, your teammate decided to unhook you, and whether it was an unsafe unhook or not, whether the killer was there as it happened or he finds you later, that's 60 seconds of being able to just tap a button and escape the killer's grasp, twice!

I think people assume NOED rewards bad play because defending gens is sort of a side objective for the killer. The more gens there are, the more time you have as a killer. And when playing killer it's less about the hunt, and more about racing the clock.
So NOED is seen as "rewarding bad play" because you are given a huge boost of power when you are supposed to be "losing".
That's just my guess on it.
As a demogorgon player, I hate this mentality. Any Demo worth their salt invests in endgame because the Demogorgon's pressure ramps up exponentially the less he has to defend. NOED, IF, Distressing, and perk of choice (Fire Up for bonus endgame) makes the demo an end game god.

Toolboxes. The update isn't a nerf, it's a buff. Me and my friends tested it. In the time it took Clown to walk arcross Thompson House - to even find survivors. 3 Gen's were done, and the 4th was halfway done when they all took yellow toolboxes with socket swivel and wire spool. They never needed increase speed in the first place. Going "We're going to lower how much you can use it, but increase the amount of progression you get with it" isn't a "nerf" that's doing absoultely nothing to it, however what they did was lower how much you can use it, and incrased the amount of progression you get with toolboxes - by a lot.
Don't even get me started on the sabotage changes. I literally control the entire trial with an alex's toolbox alone. I turn the entire game into making it impossible for the killer to even get 1 hook - unless they eliminate me first. Me who is reasonably good at looping. So far in the PTB I've mad killer's rage, dc, afk, tunnel, and camp as a result of the toolbox changes - in the ptb of all places.
OoO hasn't even been given slight changes, and it's been talked about for MONTHS, but BHVR keeps putting it off. That's probably the biggest contender.
It's a nerf overall. While they are faster, they are consumed more then the speed upgrade would equalize. The only point that may be a buff is it's ability to quickly finish off a gen in an emergency.

I see 4k's all the time
Something tell me the 4k happens because you caused the game to snowball. Against any decent survivor team you need to play perfectly. With how broken some of the survivor perks are (Just make adrenaline give endurance for 30s instead of a health state, you won't believe how many times I've lost a survivor because I hook them as the last gen is done, they hang for 2 minutes, then when they're saved they get a health state and 20 seconds of "You didn't hit me nananananana" AKA borrowed time. And even if you manage to do the impossible and down them, they're on the edge of escape with DS only half gone. Killers and their perks have counterplay built into them. Tell me, what survivor perks can be effectively countered without outright ignoring the survivors themselves? You'll find few, if any at all! The closest you can get is Franklin's to drop item's, but that requires a perk slot, of which the survivors don't need for their counterplay.
-
A well known theory on what the entity's realm is is that all the survivors are dead, their souls stuck in this other dimension. If you had a disability, following this theory entering the entity's realm would fix any issues you have, from cancer to disabilities.
-
If you're playing a decent speed killer, you can approach from the side and vacuum to the closet if you're quick enough.
-
*Sees NOED discussion about it being crutch*
Just want to say again that demogorgon has actual use for it to boost his endgame to unfathomable levels, instead of a gimmick perk.
-
I had an idea a while ago for it to be a sort of flipped Devour
SoapHope.0 tokens: 0.3/0.7/1% speed increase for every token
2 tokens: Slightly longer lunge range
4 tokens: insta-downs
7 tokens: Can mori
-
I like it. A cool addition is the first survivor chased becomes the obsession.
-
On demo it's devastating, as long as your one and only focus is keeping the totem up and hooks, in that order. Demo can defend single objectives extremely well, and while you will lose a few gens, the payout is one hit downs and instakills.

I believe it's actually that you can't apply regression with it up, but any in-effect regression does continue. I may be wrong though.

You have to make it so:
Blinding: They have to become 100% blinded after they've ended the pickup animation. Before that it'll blind them but not drop.
Stunning: Same premise, gotta stun them out of animation
-
The only time you're holding the game hostage is if you are deliberately forcing the game to go on infinitely until you decide not to. For a survivor this is deliberately exploiting a glitch or something so the killer cant down them. For killer this is cornering a survivor so they cant move.
-
Honestly, the only killer that isn't bad without NOED imo is demo. He has so little in the way of early and midgame that its unrecoverable, but start whacking endgame stuff on him and it goes from "5-1 gens in 2 minutes" to "1-escape... if you can."

Does anyone know if any reworks or buffs are coming for Demogorgon. I've tried for so long to find something too make him work to no success. I've tried different strategies and countless perk combos. He's got absolutely NOTHING to help break the looping cycle like the clown or doctor. He's got no stealth to get close enough to survivors to get at least a free hit before a chase starts. His portals are useless because he announces to the world that he's portaling. His slash, which only moves in a straight line, is useless when survivors spend most of their time running around loops.
I don't mean to sound like I'm whining or complaining, it's just frustrating cause he's my favorite. And i can usually 3-4k with any other killer. But not demogorgon. I've seen streamers do good with him when they use a cheese build/strategy, but that's not how i like to play. You shouldn't have to be locked in to a set of specific perks just to make a killer viable.
Anyways, rant over. Any thoughts? Any signs of changes coming down the road for my boy demo?
Demogorgon plays very poorly the more objectives he has to hold, and doesnt deal well with trying to fix that with perks. Start trying out endgame builds on him (Mine being NOED, Distressing, Infectious Fright and Whispers) and he easily rivals nurse in terms of power during the end game.
-
People are reporting that on dedicated survivors are going faster then they should, making chases harder to win.

I'm fine with Ruin gen tapping, that's Ruin doing it's job. What really pisses me off is when someone midchase touches a gen. They don't even bend down, it's a game of generator freeze tage where I have to hold the generator for a second while they just need to bump it.

I've been trying to get Adepts for killers, but I get Ruthless every time...
Any tips or even guides maybe?
Play with your food a bit. But also keep the gens on lockdown. Down them, but leave them bleeding for a bit to be picked up. Let every survivor get rescued off hook without competition.
Basically, imagine if some god (the entity) was watching you for entertainment. Don't dominate the survivors, play with them for a while.
-
It's because, depending on some perks and items, the definition of S/M/C/T could be different. for example, on one perk slightly could be 2%, on another it could be 3%

Well, the Entity is everything in its realm besides the survivors and killers. But it has to have a physical form, it’s not a conglomerate being, it has a true form to it, even if our minds cannot comprehend it. Kate even saw what it “looked” like when she got taken. Black limbs descended from the heavens and she bashed a rock against it, only for it to bounce off Iran iron like flesh. Then she got taken
It has no "true" form, it's closer to a cellular hivemind which can use itself to construct environments and items. The closest you can get to a true form is an auric cell, or rather the conglomorate of all auric cells.
-
The fog is to cast obscurity onto a trial or the campfire's bounds. In a trial, this is done so survivors and killers can't see across the map, thus making it a game of cat and mouse rather then owl and mouse. Outside of the trial's it's used to obscure what I like to call "The dead-lands", where no plants grow, and it's just rough dirt, and to stop survivors from attempting escape on the premise that they have no idea what awaits them except the shadow of presumably a killer.
-
@End_of_Slayer said:
The trial is a flower, it starts at the basement and blooms upwards. The basement is the closest thing to the Entity in the trial which is why you hear crackling and see orange lighting.
Nice description.
@Xboned said:
We're all in the Entity's realm. The basement is special because it seems to be a place of ritual. The Monstrous Shrine perk describes the Entity as having taken interest in loving care of the basement hooks, for example. There's always skulls and candles around it.
Endgame collapse actually contradicts the original lore that the Entity was incapable of direct action, hence its need for killers to hook people in order to gain sustenance from them, so I'm not sure what the official explanation for that one is.
It's arguable that this rule is of the entity's own making, and the endgame collapse is it's growing thirsty for a kill or some sort of climax to the point where it breaks this rule. It's also arguable that it's because the realm is deteriorating, allowing the Entity to break through.

Hell, I still think Freddy and Myers being in the game is awful and Myers power makes 0 sense to even try and fit into his lore. Scream movies were terrible and they made Ghostface a laughing stock of a killer too. They do much better with original killers. They need to stick to that.
I dunno about you, but a well-played ghost face is ######### terrifying.

Blades and blood can't be the definition of a slasher. Flipping samurai jack would be a slasher under those conditions.
Here's how I define slasher.
Horror movie, 1 or very few killer(s), takes people out 1 by 1 when they are separated (sometimes 2 or more at once, but those are the exception), the killer is the villain, there's a final "girl" (doesn't really have to be a girl), killer is human(or, could be replaced by a human)
There you go.You have Jigsaw, your killer, they usually do people 1 by 1 (though sometimes will have a group take themselves out), the killer is the villain (though that can be taken either way), usually the protagonist survives, being the "final girl", and Jigsaw (and Amanda) are both human.
-
If theres one thing both survivors and killers can agree on, its this. Killers need BP in every category, and other survivors should get BP since the game is now harder.
-
Ilike it, but can only see this promoting camping since survivors still seem to think rushing the hook is an effective strat, in which case you lose time since it can take more then 3 hooks to kill someone.

How does pig fit into the "great slashers who defined the genre"?
I don't think she does, yet she's in.
Think more horror icon than slasher icon
Depends on how one defines slasher. Could be a serial killer situation (Scream), could be an obsessed murderer (Halloween), or even just someone protecting themself (Leatherface). SAW was a slasher because of the blades and blood aspect, and Jigsaw could be considered a serial killer who targets those who have done wrong.

Sounds like an excuse tbh, but if the devs don't wanna change it I guess it's kinda like "Oh well, guess I'll die" whenever you enter a locker away from pallets. Game really forces you to loop, and with them trying to nerf looping it's gonna really suck when they finish.
TBH looping in this game was way too powerful. A lot of loops you had to chase someone around, only for them to drop a pallet on you. Can't mindgame it (unless you're Demo and really good at lunging) and have to break the pallet, letting them get to another situation just like it. Killer was a joke against a survivor who was decent at looping and wasn't too cocky. With the looping fixes, survivors will be in much more peril and will have to either stay hidden or mindgame the killer instead of the other way around.
-
Run the map as killer a few times, you'll figure it out quicker when you can wallhack the gens. Doesn't matter if you're good or bad, just recognize and learn the pattern. I've played it like 4 times as killer and have no problem finding gens even as survivor.
-
Streamers already have max BP with 3 dailies ready, they don't need the Bloodhunt
-
@Atrushan88 said:
Being in a locker while in the killer's terror radius leaves an obvious sound when you leave it, thus if you do leave it while in the killer's terror radius you're pretty much found immediately, however crows also form regardless of this fact, so you're kinda screwed if the killer sticks around for too long. It's happened to me a few times where I've been pretty much unable to leave a locker while a killer was in the vicinity, either by chasing someone else or thinking I was nearby but not being able to find me. I really don't think crows should form if you're forced into a situation like that.
This is actually an intended mechanic, akin to bloodlust, to find and capture survivors quicker The devs have even said that the entity does this because it takes the killer's side. Plus it probably gets bored when the killer is looping someone who doesn't exist.

You can lunge and hit them off your totem, you know.
Then they crawl out the exit gate.
-
When you run into a survivor who just started vaulting as Bubba while chainsawing, but instead of them going down you freeze for 2 seconds then spin out like you hit a wall.
-
@Zagrid said:
1st. situation. You hook survivor 1, then they get unhooked and have DS, you slug them, then go after the 2nd guy. You down the second guy, hook him then go back to the first survivor. Even though you didn't tunnel, you still get DSed. Another variation is you just go after the guy who unhooks, but find the other person later on and still get DSed even though you clearly didn't tunnel.
2nd situation. You hooked the 2nd to last survivor then hook the last survivor but it is the first time you hooked them. The 2nd to last survivor is dead on hook so now it is just 1 survivor left. They either have deliverance or get really lucky and jump off the hook so you down them and pick them back up. But since you "tunneled" they either get a free escape or 5 seconds on you to find the hatch/go to an open exit gate.
Both situations have the fact that you are getting DSed without actually tunneling. With the 2nd scenario you do "Tunnel" but they are the last survivor so if you don't "tunnel" they escape anyway. So in this second scenario there is nothing you as a killer can do against it. DS is uncounterable if the person jumps off the hook and is too close to the exit, congratulations survivor you get a free escape because you ran 1 perk.
Are these issues game breaking? No, but it shows that no one ever thinks of these things before they change them. If DbD had a team of legit good players like Tru3talent or Zubat go against other good survivors (Take your pick its not hard to be a good survivor). Then they could actually have people point out these issues before they make it to live and end up annoying people for... well how long was DS left unchanged originally, 2+ years?
But that might be too much for them, like some mod said the BHVR team is relatively small, but that tells me either they don't have enough people working for what they are trying to accomplish, or they don't have the time to do what they want to accomplish.
Anyway rant over, can't wait to see all the people who didn't read and started writing their comment when I said going after the last person off of the hook isn't tunneling.
Situation 3. They get off and immediately go for one of my hex totems. I can't pull them off because I get DSed. I can't let them continue or I lose my entire perk. ######### if I do and ######### if I don't.
-
Or use WGLF. Or BPS (you guys get them more), who cares how much BP the killer gets if you all get some too.

Demogorgon. Not so much because I'm a vivid Stranger Things fan, but because he really isn't afflicted by a hatchet, a knife. The only thing I can see hurting him would be Billy's chainsaw, but yet again....
Demogorgon would just eat them. Nothing has ever been said about how he's organs work, he's unidentified. If Freddy pulls you into his world, the Demogorgon could just make the Dream world into the upside down, quite simple? He, because nothing has ever been said other than him being able to have regenerative capabilities and not being afflicted by gunshots, so why would a knife or hatchet do much more to him?
GhostFace and Legion would be the silliest to pick.
He can't be shot or cut, but apparently Laurie doesn't give a #########.

So the good perks look good /s
They're afraid of disrupting the meta, especially on the survivorside since they already have broken perks like Adren and DS (Grabs shouldn't trigger DS. I had someone cleansing my NOED once and I couldn't do anything cause they had DS. I either let them cleanse it or get DSed and they ran out the exit.)
