  • I forgot to mention this in my last post.

I really, really love this game (probably my favorite), i play a lot and draw a lot of fanarts.

I play both sides equally at red ranks, and saw the game gradually becoming more balanced.

But the feedback about the Hex: Ruin change didn't surprise me. I don't use Ruin for 3 weeks now and it actually let me see two things : it's one less thing to worry about but it's also more frustrating to play as killer than it use to be. As Trapper now i'm used to see 2 gens popped while i'm placing my traps or even crossed the map when i play on Ormont or Red Forest Realm. It's less frustrating for the early game, but once you caught and hook a survivor, you just need to start tryharding to even get 4 stacks of BBQ ( which is the way i win imo ) I saw myself forced to slug in order to apply pressure, or to stay closer to the hook than. When there is 4 survivors and no perk to slow the early game, it requires too much effort to pressure all the survivors at once, forcing you as a killer to tunnel/down a survivor in order to gain time, end a chase to come back to the hook, etc.

What probably made me realized the game was in favor of survivor at this time was the Patch Notes. It clearly is stated that the balance is made around new players and especially new survivors. That a new survivor would ruin the progress that a veteran player made on a gen (which just describe rank 1 survivor playing with their r20 friends, which shouldn't be possible in the frist place) That 80% killers use Ruin in red ranks but doesn't address the reason why. It's definitly not about an Emblem but more about not playing 5 minutes games and also countering "bad" map design, like huge maps.

I previously said i didn't use Ruin for 3 weeks, and during those weeks i tried different killers

High mobility killers with good map pressure are not affected at all or rarely :

    • Wraith struggle a little as he isn't the strongest killer but still can apply good map pressure when using Surveillance, Nurse's , BBQ and Sloppy Butcher
    • Freddy is the master of map pressure, he might be a weaker hunter but his teleport make him really strong
    • Spirit is just the pressure queen when it comes to chases and interrupting gens but she lacks somemap pressure on larger maps

Low mobility killers and setting killers suffers in early game :

    • Trapper setting traps usually takes 1-2 gens but he makes it up if his traps are good.
    • Clown is literrally a Clown with no pressure at all (and definitly should get a buff or a rework)
    • Oni suffers even more than Trapper, because he has nothing to end a chase quicker and if the survivors are good loopers/mindgamers he will not get his power up more than 1 per game. But if he managed to get his power, he can turn the tables in his favor really quickly
    • Demogorgon is basically a weaker Freddy, as his teleportation cooldown is just too long and his shred attack is only useful in some kind of jungle gym and situations.
    • Pig suffers from RNG just like Trapper (how easily survivors get off traps from killer perspective while when i play survivor i always have to search the last box or even can't struggle out a beartrap after 15 tries...) but also map pressure as she has nothing to stop the progress of a gen on the other side of the map.
    • Plague is exactly like Oni besides the power to travel the map. She just a good hunter when the survivor is broken but she has nothing to stop the gen repair.

There is the rest of the killers that i didn't test (Hag, Leatherface,Doctor,Legion) or don't play (Nurse , Billy, Ghostface, Huntress, Myers)

  • It's time to stop the THEM vs US mentality.

You are not better than them in that case.

I play both sides equally and i'm gonna give you a non-biased opinion :

"Hatch couldn't be closed. EGC didn't exist."

This was necessary. It's not something you should put in survivor NERF, as it was creating hostage situation that wasn't healthy at all for the game. As survivor i would just run to the killer and let him/her kill me. As killer i would just wait in a corner to let the survivor find it or if i find the survivor before, i would give him the hatch or the hook depending how the game went.

    "DS worked on first down"

Yus it worked on first down but you were forced to use it or have to wiggle to trigger it. I don't consider the DS change as a nerf but more as a buff, as all survivors have the same effect, they can choose when to use it and the killer cannot juggle them anymore.

    "More safe pallets"

Depends on the map really. Take Ormont, it's basically a survivor sided map because of it's size and the really safe pallets, then you have Hawkins that is normal size, with a lot of pallets which are mostly unsafe.

"BL infinites and instant heals allowed for crazy long chases"

Balanced Landing "nerf" was necessary as it was the only exhaustion perk with a passive. It just got tweaked to be on the same ground as the others.

As for instant heals, like hatch they weren't healthy at all, as they were usually used to be toxic toward the killer and could be use without thinking and reward a survivor for making a mistake (like all the second chance perk (DS, DH, Unbreakable, etc))

  • i mean i got banned for joking about staying afk as killer and not doing gens as survivor when the new ruin comes, even if it was in different threads there is far worse on the forums that doesn't even get ban.

I can tell you this was a hard week for me to see lot of people asking questions and not being able to answer and help them like i usually do.

  • Perks attached to a killer or a survivor will never be passive. It's like Ruin will never not be a Hex Totem as it's attached to the Hag who only come with Hex.

  • Actually i see a lot of people suggesting perks attached to a character, but the only possible perks that could be add as passive are the perk that are non-character attached.

    SURVIVOR :

Dark Sense : YEAH but only for survivor rank 20-15

Déjà Vu : YEAH but only for survivor rank 20-15

Kindred : YEAH but only for solo survivors

Lightweight : NOPE would be too much

No One Left Behind : YEAH Definitly should be a passive

Plunderer's Instinc : NOPE it's good as it is

Premonition : NOPE or only for survivor rank 20-15

Resilience : NOPE would make gens go too fast

Small Game : YEAH but only for survivor 20-15 so they can learn the spawn

    Spine Chill : (see Premonition)

This is Not Happening : YEAH but only for survivor rank 20-15

We'll Make It : NOPE would be too much

    KILLER :

Bitter Murmur : YEAH but only for killer rank 20-15

Deerstalker : YEAH but only for killer rank 20-15

NOED : NOPE would be too much

Thrill of the Hunt : YEAH that would actually be good

    Insidious : NOPE NOPE NOPE

Iron Grasp : NOPE would be too much

    Monstruous Shrine : YEAH definitly

Sloppy Butcher : NOPE would be too much

Spies from the Shadows : YEAH but only for killer rank 20-15

Unrelenting : YEAH but only for killer rank 20-15

Whispers : NOPE would be too much

  • Kindred should be a passive for Solo survivors.

for Killers : Monstruous Shrine and Deerstalker should be passives.

  • Indeed survivor still play their nerf : Self-care is still in almost every match (but i take that as a good thing if i'm playing killer as they are just wasting time and giving me some) DS was nerfed-buffed and is still the most used survivor perk.

  • Definitly the Red Forest Realm, The Asylum and Ormont as they are the biggest maps in the game. The red forest and Ormont share one of the most survivor sided jungle gym and the Asylum is basically a huge safe place for survivor in the middle of the map XD

  • As a survivor you already can leave with your item used at 99% if you escape while even if the killer pipped or double pipped cannot at all keep his addons.

  • Iron Will + Quick&Quiet + Inner Strengh + Lucky Break = easy heal during chase and saving lucky break timer a lot more

Iron Will + Kindred + Bond + Open Handed = abusing the aura reading even if Kindred and Bond is too much ahah

Iron Will + Stake Out + Better Together + Prove Thyself (will not use it anymore when the Ruin change come live coz i don't want to be that girl gen rushing the poor killers)

I used to be an Ace main so Iron Will wasn't necessary but now as a Yui main i can't stand her high pitch grunting sounds ahah

  • It's not a buff if the survivors decide not to cleanse it. See it as a HG effect. the survivors actually decide their fate. That would helpn the new survivors as they would have the choice to face the skill checvk or the regression

Yes it is based on my personal games as killer and survivor. I do not claim that the stats are statistically significant.

but i don't understant the killer is when you are playing survivor and the survivor when you are playing killer ?

if so shouldn't you divide the number of survivor by 4 ?

  • no.

the only condition it should get disable is if you hooked survivor B in the meantime as it's not tunneling to go against survivor A after that.

i play both sides and i don't know yet if you suggestion is a troll or not XD

  • where di you got those stats ? it's personnal stats ?

  • @ASAPTurtle said:

Despite all the nerfs survivors have got to balance them out there still not good enough for some people? What about Ebony Moris, Annoying Add-ons/Builds, Scummy Playstyles, Hitboxes, inconsistent windows and pallets. Those are just some of the things that are still in this game that survivors face yet they keep playing, but one killer perk gets reworked and everyone goes berserk.

i play both sides and what i see is that you only show the survivor side pov.

Ebony = counterable by not getting hook then found again and killer actually have to work to get it to work and survivor will pb DC or not load the game when they see secret offering

Annoying build and addons = both sides have the same amount of annoyance to the other side in term of build and addons

    scummy playstyles = see above

hitbox = yeah they are busted right now but people choose to only see the one that hit when it shouldn't and not talk about the one that doesn't hit even if it should

if you talk about the recent survivors nerfs :

BT = was abused by survivors and is now truly an altruistic perk

DS = was actually buff as you have the same effect if you are the obs or not + killer can't juggle you anymore

Balanced Landing = merely a nerf more a adjustment so it's like the other exhaustion perk.

Insta heal = abused by survivors and was a no-brain addon

  • Ds as to be changed. Even when you don't tunnel you still get hit by it.

I mean if i chased and hooked an other survivor during your DS timer, you shouldn't be able to DS me as i'm not tunneling.

  • what survey ?

    itll be here..

lol they gotta get through the ptb first.

but why ? i mean the system of challenge and the archives were tested last PTB so testing the challenges seems unnecessary ^^

The new tome doesn't come out until the next update. As far as I know

but the teaser says Coming Soon.

1 month doesn't sound like soon XD

  • so tomorrow ?

  • i think there is more challenges than on the first Tome.

  • but i just saw it's on the ptb patch notes. so i sadly think i'll have to wait 2 weeks :(

  • @NMCKE said:

Well, it doesn't look that bad to me because of a few things:

    1. Regression occurs at a flat rate of 1 charge over a duration of 4 seconds. With Ruin, this now happens immediately instead of when you kick a generator, and regression now occurs at a flat rate of 1 charge over a duration of 2 seconds.
    2. Survivors can't tap generators during a chase.

Doing the mathematics, if a generator is at 90% and you happened to catch a survivor and chase them off.

At that time, the survivor has 72 charges on that generator. With Ruin, assuming no other survivor touches that generator, it will take 144 seconds for that generator to regress back down to 0 charges. Without Ruin, it would have taken 288 seconds, plus as a bonus, you would've needed to kick the generator to start regression.

But that is assuming Ruin isn't gone in the first 30 sec. I'm fine with the changes if Ruin become a normal perk instead os staying a hex

  • Hex: Ruin was a tool to slow down the match not for the killer but for the Entity to enjoy a long fight.

Ending the game in 5 minutes means noone on either side actually is rewarded with a pip.

A trial is meant to last enough time for the Entity to feast of Hope.

So it's not about really about nerfing a killer perk but more about devs dooming both sides to derank coz the games will be shorter.

  • @anarchy753 well it's not about cutting BP out but giving away some for having a little more diversity in your build.

  • I personnally use Prove Thyself for the extra BP, since survivors BP gain is so low.

It's not that OP at all as you still need to be with someone else on the gen for it to activate.

This is easily counter by Discordance, Ruin, Thana, Dying Light. A single killer perk counters a perk that only is efficient when paired with Bond or Better Together.

Resilience is really not that great as you need to be injured, so escaped the killer + not get heal by your teammates which is p^retty hard in solo.

also i played against two infinite Freddy (two ropes and thana) yesterday and i can tell you this is still crazy strong and nearly not got nerf at all. Nerf would be that they can't stack.

And i'm playing both sides "equally" 55% survivor and 45% killer (coz survivor is less stressfull as high ranks)

  • @Raccoon @Dreamnomad Thank you :)

Well not 99% impossible but it's the challenge that is the most RNG out of the bunch XD

  • I finally did it ! on my 12th try , first time trying it with Wraith ! The survivors 3 genned themselves and at some point they gave up XD For the entire game the Claudette kept pointig at me to lead me on the other side so i was like "not taking the bait". But in the endchat she actually told me she needed the 4 stuns challenge and unlucky for her her teammtes dropped every pallet in one side XD

  • @bilaueta said:

The best thing you can do is memorize the basement location and then play normally until a survivor is on third hook, on that hook you can just go to the basement with iron grasp and agitation and repeat the process for all four surivors

They wont avoid the basement if you dont play near it

yus that was i thought when i tried Doctor only using Agitation so i would make sense since it also increase the TR

  • @joker7997 said:

Try a plague slug basement build with black incense, you'll get a group that doesn't cleanse, get everyone down and get them to the basement

i was about to try Plague XD

I'd recommend trapper. Iron graps + agitation and more traps / dark traps. Get lucky and get a survivor into the basement and then trap it, maybe a survivor steps into a trap and you can snowball from there.

    Good luck!

well this is actually what happened on my first try and that i almost got it until the last person DCed right in the doorway of the basement :(

  • @Claudette_Baguette said:

I got it first try, I was lucky I think. Got 2 people into the basement, camped them (yeah I know its scummy but the challenge basically forced me to do that), got a third survivor that tried to save them and the 4th one stepped into a trap.

The thing is, if a survivor DCs you dont get the challenge which is stupid.

yeah this is why i run MYC, i mean i hate when people camp me as survivor so i don't want to be like that as killer ^^

I guess i'll just try every killer until i make it XD

  • @SilentSpectre said:

Just don't do it. It's not required, and honestly not worth the trouble for a measly 60k bloodpoints.

Alternatively, just wait to do it until the next tome opens, so that people will have less incentive to DC/BM on you.

the thing is i'm doing the challenge for the BP or Rift but for the Lore :(

I think i'll just stick to playing survivor and help everyone including killers to get their achievement done

  • you mean data from the time i started to play or currently ?

    if currently :

    45% - 55%

    ~4 - ~6

Look at her cosmetics in the store, especially ones that show her shoulders. You'll see it on her back and neck. Maybe legs too I forget

Edit: since you can't zoom in, it's most apparent on the back of her legs in her Spring Break outfit, with a few spots on her neck

i will look at it next time i play ^^

  • @brokedownpalace said:

I ask because they have given characters details like that in the past, like Claudette's Vitiligo.

Claudetyte vitiligo ? any pic coz i don't sdee it Xd

  • I play both sides equally. And the thing is i love stats like these but devs should have not only put those alone. They should have shown survivor stats aswell showing how many times a survivor derank , 0 pip , 1 pip and 2 pip.

Because the killer managed to kill 3 people doesn't mean he will not derank, while the killed survivors will probably rank up. This is because ranking up as survivor is so easy that the killer rate is so high as survivors who should be rank 10 are rank 3 and face experienced killers who know how to play their characters.

Those stats are not enough to say that killers are the power side. Also it's kinda dumb that they we don't know if those stats are addonless or not as anyone can equip the strongest addon and by so make the killer rate higher while some killer struggles without addons ( Trapper is really hard to play without addon since you take the first 3 gens to place traps while you can 4K with an addonless Freddy pretty easily )

  • @CornChip said:

I'm just tired of the same perks being on top for far too long.

We need a new meta, shake things up a bit.

Well survivor meta didn't changed at all since the beginning. DS/Exhaustion perk/Self-Care/Adrenaline, but there is a lot of different builds they could run to win and escape.

For killer on the other hand, the fate of the game rely on few perks : Ruin= a 50/50% chance to slow the game enough to get at least 1 hook before the first gen is popped / BBQ= a 0/100% chance to get in chase with a new victim quicker than without / Nurse's Calling = really good on the Stealthy killers and best counter to SC (which is somehow still meta even tho it's clearly overrated) / Pop the Weasel = really good on good killer with high mobility

Every single of them are here for the killer to not waste too much of his time, and for a killer every single second is precious as every single hesitation or mistake can cost you the game, while all survivor get a second chance (for ex :Dead Hard to correct a trajectory during chase, because miscalculation and would have been down = survivor mistake hurting the killer instead of the survivor)

Until the balance is pointing to the killer as the power role, you will see the same meta build on killers.

  • That's exactly what the perk needs ! I never use DS in my normal matches ( no ritual/challenge/achievment/random build) but as a killer it's really frustration when you chased multiples other survivors and hooked one-two in the meantime and still get DS...

  • Balanced Landing didn't get "nerfed" because of abusive loops and certain maps but because it was the only exhaustion perk that had a passive bonus attached to it. It was only time for it to get on the exact same level as the other exhaustion perk.

You bring the exhaustion addons subject well all those addons come in action only when you get hit/injured. So just don't get hit/injured.

You bring "but i don't recover from running", then stop running and recover or bring Vigil.

  • Bha i don't ask for anything in particuliar. I guess maybe 5-10 Rift Fragments but otherwise no i did play the tutorials to get the 50K + played few games with the crossplay option solution.

  • Pig, by far. Followed by Hag in good hands.

  • @Milo said:

Kindred became even more of an "Give info to solos" kind of perk than ever before!

exactly ^^ this is a good step in the good way !

  • It's getting buffed in next patch : not only work when you are on the hook but also when someone else is on hook. So you know if it's worth it to go to the hook or if someone else is already on it'zs way .

  • Pretty sure he is still undetectable with Spine Chill in T1.

  • Thing is as soon as your are unhooked :

    • if the timer is OFF check the closest box, if it's not the good one then get heal, help on gen help other survivors
    • if the timer is ON, your priority is checking boxes, don't go for unhook, healing, gens or you will die.
  • It doesn't need any buff or passive.

It's the most consistent exhaustion perk right now as all maps have windows or pallet to vault to trigger it. When DH works only when injured, BL on high that most maps don't have and don't start about SB which force you to walk the entire match, no thanks.

  • Julie, as for some reason her relation with Frank reminds me of Harley Quinn and Joker.

  • Alien , The Thing , the Grudge

  • You will not get banned for it. If it was the End Game collapse and you hooked someone, there is no reason for you not to stay close and prevent the unhook. People saying it's camping just don't play both sides of the game.
