What about keeping both old and new version of Ruin on the same perk ?
Let me explain.
In the patchnotes, the main reason why Ruin is getting changed is because most killers use it and that it's not very new player friendly. Alright i'm ok with those two arguments and i propose something !
What about keeping old Ruin with SkillChecks and make it that if the totem get cleansed, the new Ruin change activate ? This way survivors would have the choice between harder skillchecks or no skillchecks but having to focus on the generator at the price of taking a hit. It actually be a good way to give the survivors a second objective to make them actually choose the Curse they want to play with for the rest of the game.
So the idea would be :
Hex: Ruin, A Hex that affects the Survivors' skills at repairing Generators
All Survivors are affected by Ruin, which causes the following:
- Good Skill Checks result in a 3/4/5 % Regression penalty on the Generator.
- Great Skill Checks grant 0 % Bonus Progression on the Generator.
If the Hex totem get cleansed, all generators are affected by a curse which caused the following :
- If a generator is not being worked on, it regresses at 100/150/200% the normal regression rate for 40/50/60 seconds
The curse effect persists for the rest of the game.
"A curse is upon you. It will cause your ruin."
Thank you for your attention :)

Literally all your suggesting is a buff to current ruin, which the devs already dont like. This wouldnt help the new survivors the devs seem to be trying to help out in the least.
That would be too strong. But i'd like the idea of a hex perk like HG but affect genspeed/block all gens for a specific time
It's not a buff if the survivors decide not to cleanse it. See it as a HG effect. the survivors actually decide their fate. That would helpn the new survivors as they would have the choice to face the skill checvk or the regression
Thats a big buff, making ruin permanent and forcing survivors to gamble removing a lit totem that could be any hex.
Really maybe they should have made ruin just slow gens a certain % and skill checks be normal. With frames and lag, great skill checks are a pain on console. It would have made ruin way less aggravating.
