The power has to be well designed for me to even consider buying him plus I vowed not to support DBD for now so it would have to be really good for me to change my mind.
Don't worry, he won't be.

The mental gymnastics survivors use to not go with an 80% win rate.

He's a sledgehammer-nerfed Myers, just as I predicted. What a pile of garbage. And they're (they will be) asking money for this? Lol.

Also, you can hear her footsteps as a survivor when she phases.
That was always a thing, and the main reason why she's jus a scrubstomper.

"She's the best killer in the whole game with some of her addons."
"being addon reliant means that she can't perform well without addons"
"she's better than an instasaw Billy without addons"
I disagree with all of these.
Ditto. She's a trash tier noobstomper. All the complaints against her really say a lot about your average survivor.

Ah, yeah, of course. Had 5 games already vs Legion, 3 4Ks, 1 3K, 1 2K. And in every game the Legion Player was exceptionally good and the Survivors (which were at the same Rank) were Potatoes. Sure, sure...
New Legion is not garbage. He is alright. "Problem" is that people need to adapt now, he is not braindead anymore. So some people will struggle with him.
You're not as good as you think you are. Plain and simple. The new Legion is just a M1 killer with a big terror radius, they're the worst killer in the game.
And, for the record, killers do adapt. All the time. Since day 1. Survivors simply demand and, more often than not, get nerfs against us every time we do.

@Aven_Fallen said:
Played vs 2 Legions today, 1 time he got a 4K (well, using the best Add-Ons, Iridescent Button and Cold Dirt), second time 2K (without any good Perks and with brown Add-Ons)
Does not sound too bad.
Even a perkless speed limiter Leatherface can 4K against complete inepts, but that doesn't make him a good killer.

That probably won't happen again. They are great devs, so I'm sure they've learned from Freddy and Legion.
It literally just happened with the Legion, lmao.

No, she wouldn't have. She's never been strong in the first place.

Considering how quick killer mains are to panic about anything that might make them work a little bit harder, I'm not surprised they're waiting to hear more feedback on MoM than just the first two weeks worth of crying. The fact that they said they're listening to feedback means they're open to changing it. Especially considering they said they're not touching NOED despite survivors throwing a fit over it constantly.
I think you misspelled "survivors".
-
@op you're wrong. They do listen. To survivors, that is.
-
Because survivors whined the house down, as they always do every time killers find a way to counter their toxic and abusive playstyle.
-
They do listen... to survivors' feedback, that is.

Ironically, Civ VI is on sale on Steam right now.

I'll take a reduced killer hit box. Removes the stairs issue for ya'll that it bothers (which doesn't really even happen enough to be a real issue though imo) and reduces pallet loops some more. Win/win. The larger hit box on killers is part of what allows looping to happen in the first place.
It's just a part, though. A big role in pallet looping is played by how ridiculously generous the range and the time window for a stun are.

Question, why everyone quotes "5 blink nurse" when this is not even her strongest addon combo. idk
Because they are clueless.

PSA: when phase walking, the Spirit causes noticeable changes in the environment (grass and corn move out of the way), and you can very clearly hear the directional sound of her footsteps. So, as someone else already pointed out, @op, yours is a git gud issue.

Only if your set up is terrible.
I mean... Hag is the most lethal killer on PC and second on both PS4 and Xbox...
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/458790#Comment_458790
I disagree because in this sense it applies to every killer. You can use their power strategically, but it doesn't require foresight and planning to the extent that Trapper and Hag require to do well.
The Hag is the exception that proves the rule. The other set-up killers are terribad.
@Poweas said:
I hope they add more strategic killers, they're the most fun. Getting inside the survivors head, outsmarting them is just so satisfying. Whereas killers like Nurse are not, because she's pretty boring- blink hit, blink hit, hook and repeat.
Btw love how much Spirit you play now.
Oh, yeah, because hearing 3 gens pop by the time you've placed 2 bear traps is definitely fun (and fair).
-
God, no. Set-up killers are terrible.

@_LC said:
First off I think the word "genrush" should be avoided. I mean it's the only objective for the survivors, what do you exepect to happen if you chase a survivor for 5 minutes? Like I get into a game where I win if I do gens, the killer is busy chasing a guy, I'm sorrounded by gens: let's hide in a corner! Hell no hahaha I'll do gens. The word genrush is pointless.
Second, I guarantee you that if you get good at hitting great skillchecks the ruin will not only cease to be a problem but it would be a disadvantage for the killer because he would have wasted a perk slot on a team that can consistently hit greats.
Anyway Ruin is still sooo good to delay the progress of a game in certain situations.
The same goes for "tunneling".

Welcome to BHVR.

+1, want it.

Lol, Trapper's killrate can't be that high.

Leave alone the only real killer in this game.

Moonwalking and Red stain management is a thing for a reason. Those two are the things that put the difference between a good killer and a bad one to a certain extent.
"Survivors would never adapt, they would cry to the devs." Oh, really? What about the pallet vacuum adaptation? Or the exhaustion nerf adaptation? Or the self-care nerf adaptation? Or the DS nerf adaptation? Or the flashlight nerf adaptation? Or the pick-up animation buff adaptation? Or the pallet decrease adaptation? Hmm. Yup. Survivors know only how to cry.
The Red Stain is there for a big reason. It's supposed to let you know where the killer is no matter what. Survivors need that information because the Killers are faster than them. Some good killers have managed to adapt to this, but some haven't. So, who can't adapt again?
Nope, kiddo, survivors never adapted to anything, because they never had to. Every time survivors received even the smallest paper-nerf, they review-bombed the game, and the devs subsequentially gave them substantial buffs and/or substantial nerfs to killers in the following patches to keep them happy and quiet. Exhaustion "nerf"? Compensated by status effects being discarded upon hooking. Pallet vacuum? Compensated in the Spirit patch with the pallet hitbox being widened to the point where killers can get stunned through walls and round corners. DS "nerf" (which was actually a buff, but let's pretend it was a nerf just to let your post retain some shred of dignity)? Compensated the next patch with the introduction of Mettle of man.
On the other hand, killers did adapt, but got nerfed every single time they did. Survivors abused the max-boldness-upon-killer-stun bug, killers complained, got told to just adapt and so we did by playing the hokey cokey at pallets to avoid stuns and thus negating boldness points to survivors. Survivors whined, and the devs took our ability to avoid stuns by increasing both the time-window and the range of pallet stuns, creating the game-breaking pallet-looping we have today. Survivors broke all the hooks, making it literally impossible for the killer to win unless we got lucky with the basement's placement, we complained, got told to "just adapt", so we did. Then we got A Nurse's calling and Deerstalker nerfed because survivors cried about bleeding out on the floor because of a situation they created. Regenerating hooks would be introduced only several months after the fact, almost a whole year after they were needed. Survivors swarmed the hooks for rescues whilst complaining about killers "camping" when we never even had a chance to leave the bloody thing, and, as no survivors were doing generators, we didn't even have a reson to. We complained, got told to just adapt, so we combined the perks Unrelenting and Save the best for last to reduce the M1 attack cooldown and prevent hook-swarming. Survivors screamed and cried like never before. How dare we prevent them to get away with constant in-game trolling, farming, exploiting and abusiveness? So the devs nerfed both perks, harder than what survivors even asked for, to the point of making them completely useless, and without giving any kind of valid explanation for why they made those changes. Seeing as survivors refused to do gens anyway and were constantly trying to kite us near their hooked teammates, we started to phisically block the space for unhooking. Survivors went ballistic. "Why do killers keep adapting after we dismiss each and every one of their complaints by telling them to JuSt AdApT!?1!1!?1?1?!" So they got killers nerfed again and gained some nice buffs in the process: the Trapper had his only valid defense ability of placing traps under hooks taken away (with the devs disingenuosly listing this as a bug-fix), and survivors are now able to unhook from every angle.
Do I need to go on with the list or do you think this is enough to prove how different the killers' mindset is compared to the survivors'?

I think an important question to ask is "Just how important is the Red Stain at all?"
If it were removed, how would it affect overall gameplay and how much of an impact would it have on survivors? How difficult would it be to adapt to the change?
I always thought it would make a match more tense by not knowing or not being able to see a killer clearly in the distance due to the red stain.
"Was that a Claudette or a Hag?"
"Did it see me?"
How would survivors adapt? They wouldn't. They would whine the house down just like every time they received the smallest paper-nerf or the smallest alteration to their toxic meta.

Hoping some experienced survivors can give me some tips about how to counter Freddy - every match I have against him ends up with me being sacrificed and while I'm managing to last longer in a match (I've only been playing for three weeks), I still struggle against him.
Step 1: Run around a piece of plywood if Freddy tries to chase you.
Step 2: ???
Step 3: Profit.
-
Pro tip: you can't.
-
Whether you think it's fine or not, DCing is against the rules, so yes, bans are indeed the answer.
-
Her power is too weak to warrant for all the stupid downsides the devs slapped on it, so I agree. She is poorly designed.

As the mods always write, they won't actively ban you if you do it, but if EAC bans you for that, they won't help you.

You might be bad at the game.
Spouting non sequiters as always, I see. Whatever, it doesn't change the fact that "mindgames" is just a stupid buzzword used by those who don't know how to explain themselves or describe what they're talking about, which is playing the odds. It doesn't matter what you do during a match, there's always a 50/50 chance that you'll be right -except where the devs caved in and unbalanced the game in survivors' favour.
-
I didn't expect you to understand.
-
There's no such thing as "mindgames" in DbD. It's just a word used by people who don't know what they're talking about, but still want to sound clever. Split-decision doesn't take any kind of mentalism.
