  • lightborn will be changed eventually its inevitable. 100% in need of a rework that doesnt just make one of the only fun survivor items obsolete. dont let the downvotes get to you, they accumulate quiet often on controversial posts like this xd

strongest medkit add ons are being reworked/changed, so its likely there will be a lot of people switching to flashlights again and lightborn will probably be a popular topic of discussion. we shall see :3

  • the thing collab maybe?

Start with an hour ban and escalate from there. This ruins the round for the other three survs and the killer completely.

1 hour is too much. would be fine if it was ranked, but it isnt. 20-30 mins for a dc after first down/hook seems better. or even since we have bots, let people have the option to reconnect to the match after losing connection/dc-ing. i dc a lot on other games and then join back like instantly (just needed the dopamine hit from smashing the leave match button out of frustration sometimes lol)

but also you cant punish someone for not wanting to stay in a lobby with 200ms blight or whatever, thats why i dc most times in dbd anyways. load in, see a number above 100 and it doesnt go down = dc. id rather save myself the misery and eat a penalty since i already know too well what the outcome of that match will be and how much enjoyment from it ill get. sorrynotsorry

He needs more not only reveal, knife sheat the purple addon should be basekit and increased movement speed in shroud mode when not chasing survivor should be thing too, he is weak and all he does is just applying make your choice on fully stalked survivors and then he has nothing only stealth but who is strongest stealth killer wraith probably and stealth as traps isnt strongest thing in DBD its mostly more time consuming and more effort for small outcomes compare to straight dash killers.

that add on is too strong to be basekit, have you ever been on a gen and been exposed by him and you try to run to the nearest pallet or vault and he just zooms through and downs you lol

give him walleyes matchbook and/or leather knife base, thats more appropriate imo gives him more chances to expose people and makes traversing whilst stealthed a bit easier without being caught

So d-tier killers doesnt needs buffs to be les punishng and more playable.

erm i would defo say hes more mid c tier than d tier, and i dont struggle in my games with him. could fix his reveal mechanics and thats all he needs. like im finding it hard to understand why so many people think hes trash and unplayable when hes literally not?

Not gonna lie dude, maybe it's just my impression but your comments come off as smug and a bit passive aggressive. I never insulted anyone, never even suggested a specific change in particular to Ghostface. It's absolutely fine and valid to think that he doesn't need any changes beyond number buffs, but there's no need to be antagonizing about it.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4018135#Comment_4018135

Yeah, I think the Overcharge mechanic would ideally need a nerf personally. Not a removal, just a bit of a number changes nerf to that mechanic in particular, and I wouldn't change anything else about him. But I also wouldn't mind if they keep him like that — I would definitely prefer that to him getting gutted or heavily changed. Similarly for Kaneki, I'd just tweak a few add-ons and hope for some change that doesn't make hitting through tall, gapless walls as easy — but I wouldn't really change anything else about his default kit.

I think Blight is the one that deserves the most changes and absolutely needs some. Make him have a slower walking speed and need more time to recharge after breaking a pallet, for example. For Nurse, I would make it so that she's affected by Blindness when she's actively charging her power, so that aura-reading perks aren't -as- free on her as they currently are. I think they should also change the way Fatigue looks like from the Nurse's POV, because players who suffer from certain conditions get dizzy because of the sudden jerking movements of the camera. They could either slow down the camera movement or have the screen go black in some sort of eye blinking animation instead, any change that would be an accessibility QOL improvement for these players.

billy doesnt need any more nerfs, imo. everything else i like. although i dont even think making blight 4.4 would be fair. i say to remove his double speed add ons or make it so they cant stack and then hes more or less fine. double speed is op af. give him a cooldown after breaking pallets, fix the bug that makes his tokens recharge way too quickly, then hes fine.

  • @BOJIK_102RU said:

by making pallets unsafe you only BUFFED S-tier killers, they can easily counter survivor rotation therefore more pallets doesnt really do much. but m1 killers are suffering because survivors can easily interconnect pallets. you should reduce pallets but make them safer. I beg you, don't just reduce pallets because it will be unplayable for survivors (especially against high ping killers)

But the best solution is to make pallets depend on killer strength. High mobility killers get more pallets, low mobility — less pallets. simple.

the issue with this is the sable with windows has 1 chase and screws the entire team over. i like the density changes. some maps are a tad over-densified (is that a word idk) but i think these are really good changes for the game in general.

  • no. ghostface was the first licenced killer i bought in dbd and i would hate it if anything about him got changed.

can we stop asking for reworks or buffs to killers we arent good at? please and thank yew.

Oh my God. You're the guy trash talking exposed perks earlier in the thread. Lmao

yea sure i guess i just dont play the game

also yes… i was trash talking hard relying on expose perks to win games xdddd what is your point?

and i know killer mmr isnt universal? the guy told me to post my PIG stats cz he cant win mindgames and thought no one else could too xdddd and to that i say COPIUM — to then claim im low mmr after proving him wrong is ludacris too like im actually crying ahahahahahahha, been playing since 2021 and he wants to claim im low mmr cz hes wrong HAHA this is why you people on here could never phase me, yall talk out of your booties just for the hell of it.

    1. I havent said I'm using them, mainly also because with Vigil they are useless and perks should be countered by powerhouse perk.
    2. Winning or losing isn't about mindgames it's about what killer and what perks you play to have chance to compete in higher mmr. (Go play Pig with your "master mindgames" and post us your stats. I doubt you will have higher winrate than 50 % without hard tunnel every game)

not everyone is running vigil every game so killers can still get value from perks affected by it, even if you do encounter it you just have to try harder! vigil is not as big a deal as everyone is making it out to be. like literally so what lmaooooo chase the person with vigil and tunnel them out if you really want to. no reason for it to be nerfed anymore

also my pig has 70% kill rate and i dont hard tunnel unless im like mad at life or something lmao i play relatively chill and let people boop the snoot, farm the odd occasion etc… but there

Don't bother. Anything remotely challenging to the killer mains they whine for nerfs. They need their easy wins or they'll stomp their feet and whine.

its crazy to me. they complain about vigil but i suspect they try to play hit and run to take advantage of their role as killer (this is what they do in my games when i run it anyways) and are mad when they try to come back and catch the surv off guard, but they have vigil and sprint burst to safety, so their tactic didnt work and cry for nerfs. when they could have just sustained chase and got the down whilst sb was on cooldown. (unless surv plays better than the killer and doesnt get downed)

like most times in my games killers see someone sprint burst away and refuse to chase them which is not the play at all, cz now theyre free to work a gen and recover exhaustion for when the killer comes back and the cycle repeats.

No. It's still extremely overpowered perk. I run Starstruck, Haunted Ground, Friends Till The End… - useless, I run sloppy butcher, Gift of Pain… - useless, I run Forced Penance, Forced hesitation - useless. Everything runs out before you blink.

thats your own fault for solely relying on insta down perks to win you games xdd

try getting better? using your brain to win mindgames? the lost art of dbd.

So again, it's doing exactly whats intended. Nothing else is changing other then your walking speed. You're not gonna jiggy anywhere from leaving scratch marks, you're just gonna get yourself found, you're not fast enough to get away walking.

It doesn't work like that (or at least its not suppose to.) Snug has his own slowing mechanic that isn't affected by fixated. Its supposed to be the same for Cenobite chains, though for some reason to this dat you can let go of shift and benefit from fixated even when you shouldn't.

bro respectfully, i've ran this perk in the hopes i can juke spirits because i was so sick of versing them at one point and in my personal experience it works a good amount of the time if you know what you're doing. i even play spirit and can tell you someone with fixated is gonna have a lot more of a chance at lasting in chase against me compared to someone without it, especially if you pair it with CoL or something. you cant tell me i aint gonna be able to jiggy w it when i already have on multiple occasions lmao.

fairs for snug since the animation is you being dragged. but i disagree about fixated and pinhead, you're just being forced to walk so it makes sense for fixated to proc.

  • @CompetitifDBD said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4014440#Comment_4014440

So…in other words fixated does nothing more against spirit than it would any other killer. And the Cenobite effect is unintentional. Survivors are forced into a specific movement mechanic for this killer, fixated giving you a boost when not holding shift is unintentional.

no. you use fixated mid chase when she phases (since she cant see you). you sprint and make her think you're located around where your scratch marks end and fixated/jiggy away. its completely different to a killer that can actually see you.

and no its not unintentional, it giving you a "boost" when not holding shift is the way the perk is designed. literally by definition "gain 20% haste when walking". therefor any interaction from killer that forces a survivor to walk, is automatically increased by 20%. pretty sure the same goes for Snug when he grabs you too(could be wrong and if so i will eat my words), you're in walking animation so if you are running fixated, you automatically get 20% haste, because thats what the perk does.

I know a lot of people talk about how overly competitive dbd is. But out of all of the online multi-player games I've played, it's probably one of the least toxic, competitive games in my experience. The pvp and war players in New World Aeturnum make Dead By Daylight look like Monopoly Go by comparison. (And players in New World can switch on their mic whenever they want to and tell you off. They can also tell you off in the ingame chat that plays DURING the game.)

I think what makes dbd feel more toxic and more competitive than it really is is the simplicity of the game itself. There's killing and surviving in one particular scenario. And that's it. Unlike New World, there is no way to really avoid that highly competitive gameplay, so the competitive nature of dbd becomes unavoidable and relentless. I think that's why I mostly want to play dbd when a different game mode drops. I enjoy dbd, but it can get so monotonous to play.

I think when the devs created dbd, they envisioned it as a fun, spooky hide and go seek game. But somewhere along the way it got away from them and turned into Call of Duty with generators. I think the devs can't really "fix" dbd because in their mind it's still a casual, fun party game. Or at least they want it to be that. The simplicity of dbd, winning by killing or surviving, killer vs survivor, has created a completely different competitive game where people often feel frustrated, cheated, tired and angry. And sometimes I find myself gravitating to playing other things instead.

kaneki, krasue, crap servers, vpn'ing killers, every game being s tiers, crap mmr ..

How does fixated counter spirit? Cenobite being countered by fixated is a long standing bug that has never been patched somehow. Its not intended

fixated counters spirit because you can walk when shes midphase so she cant hear your footsteps and panting/breaths and also make more distance if they're following your scratchmarks.

also its not a bug, when you're chained by pinhead, you cant sprint > instead you are walking, fixated gives +20% haste when walking thus you are 20% faster when chained. not a bug. just how it works.

Vigil in general is just an obnoxious perk. It was already underrated, I don't understand why the devs decided to buff it so massively.

if we're nerfing things based on them being obnoxious lets nerf the majority of the killer roster yeah?…. obviously not… also they buffed it because it was a dead perk that no one ran, especially being on a licensed character is not a good look for them. it doesnt need nerfed, it no longer stacks i dont know what else you can do to it that wouldnt make it a dead perk again.

I don’t have a problem with the perk itself, I just have a problem with it affecting killer powers, it’s just bad design. Quit protecting it.

fixated counters spirit and pinhead, but that doesnt need nerfed does it? no.

i think it's nice to have niche perks that (soft)counter the odd killer anyways. calm spirit also counters doctor.. doesnt mean calm spirit needs nerfed though does it? its again, an already niche perk that barely does anything in the grande scheme of things and makes no sense to nerf it, same with vigil. like i dont think its that deep to warrant nerfs.

vigil already had stacking removed, like the perk used to be dead before it got buffed and now you want it to be dead again. doesnt make sense to me.

  • vigil is finally a decent perk and you want it nerfed aint no way bro

also it has a downside — that being it NEEDS another perk to actually be good, on its own its probably one of the worst perks in the game

As someone who sometimes uses Lightborn (i hate the blindness screen effect) when there's multiple flashlights in lobby, i think a rework would be fine. A change of effect when blinded would be even better tbh but that's only a personal wish. I do think though that it would run the risk of increasing lobby dodging when there are multiple flashlights.

yea i can understand why people run it, i'd be lying if i said i've never seen 4 flashlights and stuck on lightborn because of it xd i do think a rework would be good with the current direction dbd seems to be heading too though

i think the lobby dodging could also be fixed (maybe) by removing survivor items from the lobby screen, but i dont know how the community would react to this, devs love the whole "not knowing what you're versing" idea so im confused why they werent hidden from the beginning

im also surprised they havent added a toggle to make flashlight blinds dark instead of blindingly bright by now

  • i hate lightborn too its just lazy tbh, i'm with the rework lightborn crowd

imagine a perk where the killer just couldnt kick gens the entire game lmao. kinda feels the same, you just remove an entire mechanic for the entire duration of the game with the use of a single perk its bunz

my idea of a rework that would make it feel healthier imo would be:

to make it so "out-of-sight" survivors i.e. a survivor who hasnt been spotted by the killer within 5 seconds can by pass the "lightborn" effect. if they get spotted, the lightborn effects activate and they can no longer blind the killer for 15 seconds. this means they still cant blind at pallets and cant constantly predrop into blind over and over again but also punishes the killer for not scouting the pick up area, and survivors hiding for the save have a chance (if they dont get spotted)

lightborns current effects are just outdated

  • maybe its finally time to nerf windows of OP :p kidding, obviously!

no but for real, its bad how easy it is for survs to just run to yellow and drop and repeat until they rinse half the map before 4 gens lmao like maybe they could reduce distance window/pallet auras are shown or something idk it feels kinda obnoxious to verse when you know they're not rly that good and are just running to yellow, and now theres more yellow 👹 also might increase aces perk open handed's pick rate if they want it that bad and makes them run 2 perks for it which imo feels fair af considering how much of a clutch it literally is (dont come at me its true)

ik its an information perk and everyones always been like "its more of a nerf to new gamers if you nerf info perks yadada" but still people be downplaying how strong it actually is and now its just like 10x worse lmaoo

    (im surv main btwwww)

pallet situation is kinda wild, but also so is krasue and kaneki and nurse and blight and spirit

just sucks to be m1 killer atm i guess

He's genuinely like D-Tier my teams always get 3-4 escapes against him when Im surv and when I try him as killer he feels so quite like a terrible version of huntress, his axe is SO easy to dodge and clunky/ slow wind up etc. This killer could be really good please rework or buff him somehow. It's a real shame because he was so anticipated. His power is actually more helpful for survivors than himself which is just bizarre.

no he is not. hes absolutely fine if youre actually good at him. show springtrap stats please, i need to see how many games you've played as him to take you seriously.

I'd love there to be a button to spawn in when all 5 gens are done, and when pushed, there's a 50% chance that one survivor dies. Just like how finding hatch is a lovely 50/50 game even if you work your ass off for a 4k.

what is the 50% chance mechanic youre speaking of? i would LOVE to know (if ur talking about hatch, its literally just a way to end the match otherwise people will just rat out until someone dc's) getting mad about a measly hatch escape after 3king with 11 stages is insane loser behaviour

Of course refund all perks bought via shrine.

Additionally, add 1 additional perk per survivor as their "power", that is locked perk that cannot be shared to other survs and cannot be unequipped, leaving room for only 3 additional perks.

To be more precise im dissapointend in his jumpscare aspect or lack there of, everything else is pretty good.

What pisses me off the most is that he is supposed to be THE jumpscare killer yet he does so little with it.

So here is my solution :

Make a new jumpscare animation for the animatronic whenever he grabs a survivor off of generators, lockers, vaults, kinda like when he grabs a survivor that has an axe in em and scream at em.

But to actually grab someone as springtrap he needs to have quiter steps, bc as of rn u can hear him comin a mile away, in exchange when survivors reveal his aura it will last twice as long as it is now.

Giving more incentive for survivors to use the cams, and it also just makes the game more fun against springtrap.

if im being honest, i will never use cams against him bc its a throw. its like bait. so i dont really know how they could incentivise it, like i aint risking getting grabbed and i aint wasting gen time so idk

i was super let down by their version of "surv/killer interaction" being getting grabbed by the killer and not being able to do anything. i was expecting the cam room to be a playable space, not just a death sentence if you traverse it at the wrong time. i think they could have designed it better then maybe survs would like to explore it a bit more, but they didnt..

they could have had a special item inside the cam room that buffs chase or gens or impairs the killer, but grabbing it comes with great risks or something, anything but what they actually did - making the doors a cut scene basically

Personally, I believe Tier 3 has way too much up time for little to no work.

Also having the main killer theme be a mix of Tubular Bells and Dies Irae would go hard.

In order to address krasue's aim mechanics power creeping some older killers that actually have to aim their powers, those powers should be adjusted:

Trickster knives should gravitate toward survivors on their own. Think making survivors magnetic.

Unknown projectiles should also home in on survivors. Aiming is hard and bad. We should fix this.

Plague vomit should be a stream of tiny magnetic blobs that also home in on survivors. For funsies they should bounce off obstacles as well for autoaim bank shots.

Huntress hatchet hitboxes should be increased 25%. Remember: having to aim your power is bad. Not allowed.

These changes would align older killers with the modern design philosophy of putting killers' skill floor at about neck height. Quality of life! Accessibility! That sort of thing.

i think tf not id uninstall

    no cz fr blame otzdarva.

im usually against blaming people for certain things but i watched him play her on stream and he couldnt land hits (because it was his literal 3rd game or something) and he was like "yea this killer sucks man" all because he didnt know how to play her m2

she had sufficient counterplay and required a thought process like billy or wesker to attack survs around tiles during PTB and couldnt just mindlessly spam her power and land everything (was it slightly OP? yes - which has me even more confused bc why buff an already overperforming killer idk)

and after watching hens 4k 5 like 10 games in a row with the same killer then to watch otz claim shes trash and stuggle at the most basic pallet to land m2 hit …. like?! wasnt adding up (hens even went custom and redid what otz was struggling with and managed to get the injure/down)

it was like if u were to hand hillbilly over to your friend with 5 hours and watch them struggle because they dont know how to control his turn rate and them getting angry and in-turn saying hes the worst killer in the game. when the reality of it is he was just inexperienced on the killer and because he thinks he's decent enough to get downs quick, got frustrated that he was struggling and obviously devs caught wind or he mentioned it so they gave us what we've got now

i think the devs had a solid killer that got misconstrued by the opinions of a content creator they have a lot of faith in. to put it bluntly.

    What do you think?

My personal opinion is that he is not higher than a B tier killer, and some buffs should definitely happen, especially in areas which were nerfed from his original form.

His new add-ons are pretty eh for the most part. There are 2-3 that should have been basekit, some absolutely awful ones (looking at you, Jewelry Box), some that are neat, and some really good ones (Hairbrush, Tombstone Piece, Blond Hair)

If I could do anything about his design, I would give him a few buffs, and further expand his old power by designating more than just one add-on to it, which could give us a neat dual power situation.

he feels crap to play in my honest opinion

    clunkier than twins

The only thing I notice is that a majority of survivors just stopped wanting to learn how to loop. It is not just a fatigue to the system, I can tell by the way they run the loops (wrong), then they get hit and then they go afk/dc. Whether you play nurse or trapper does not matter, they will dc cause for some reason they feel wronged.

i think its more so killers being designed to counter the only resources survivors have e.g. pallets and vaults.

survivor ONLY has these resources and killers get a multitude of resources to stomp 4 survivors AND ignore the only counter play survivors have, leading to frustrations because literally what can they do when the killer can ignore the only thing survs have to counter them (pallets/vaults)…

so its less of a "i think survs refuse to want to learn to loop" and instead "survs are just ######### no matter what they do so whats the point"

No… The "TOP killrate" was 60% on last official stats release, not the average, as in the BEST killer has 60%. As in every other kill is below that, many even far below that.

And the average survival rate was 45%.

Dont lie about the stats we can literally look up. So in comparison, the Nightlight stats trends we see are pretty much right on the nose.

i saw 79% last time i checked official stats lol

Since everyone is talking about it, I'm just doing experiments lately, just to see how resilient survivors rly are (or aren't). I can only conclude that they literally DC/AFK/GONEXT for ANY reason whatsoever these days.

I started easy, with Krasue, since she provokes a lot of DC alrdy. But I only use M1 all match long. never hit my power, not even for mobility. 100% human mode. people still give up. Its like they aren't even trying. Do they actually want to play a game?

Next I go myers, to check out whats new and how he works. I suck at em, trying to figure out lunge distances etc. I constantly leave chases cause ppl are too good at loops (basically I suck. yet some ppl still DC after I finally manage to down them.

Next I go Executioner, a killer I am notoriously bad on (no joke: 35-40% killrate)… again I run a somewhat meme build with all hexes (incl the new krasue hex). ppl DC en masse…

This is absolutely miserable for killers. Cause Q times are alrdy bad enough on their own, now we also have to deal with constant bot matches? And we cant even abandon cause theres always that one legit guy who stays… So now I have to kill all the bots, so that 1 person can leave through hatch, inflating my killrates/MMR for no reason.

Honest question: WHAT do survivor mains want? Do you just want an easy out every match with a pat on the back? "Don't come back here you hear!", like your senior neighbour as a kid? That is what DBD feels like.

I think I speak for most when I say: Just play the game or uninstall. I think especially other solo Q players in your lobby want ppl to just play. So just take a break or uninstall. Come back later when you have cooled down.

PS: My personal escape rate went through the roof in the last few months, so I know for sure its not killers that got stronger. My last 30days escape rate is legit sitting at 66% right now… Sure I'm a 2016 player with lots of hours, but I also play 100% exclusively solo and im a 50/50 player.

So honest question … what is up with y'all?

"give up mentality" wouldnt exist it bhvr devs didnt balance the game around content creators who cant handle the idea of losing a game with their 10k hours. they have 10k hours so they should just win every game all the time ya know…

killer was in a perfectly fine state in PTB but Otz their golden boy claimed she was trash so they've went ahead and overbuffed her.

give up mentality would also be less prevalent if dbd devs had a spine and implemented anti tunnel and slug changes the way the said they were going to. instead of dangling it in our faces and yoinking it away.

also why do people keep treating survivors as test rats? theyre people ya know? "im just doing experiments" …. you mean youre being a dick to people to test how much you can piss survivors off? gtfo

For those who didn't know, with this build, scratch marks disappear FASTER than bloodstains, if you actually believe it.

It was lucky I was playing Krasue with Trail of Torment, who has great mobility + Undetectable. If I'm playing any M1 killer, this would be an absolute disaster, and I just know it because I mostly play M1 killer.

Not saying it needs any nerf yet, but I'm just surprised they didn't change it at all.

    Edit: Hide the names.

its super niche and only good againt noob killers so not that op in the grand scheme of things i.e the killer that just got released buffed from c tier to s tier lol

I've personally only faced her twice, so my first impression is incomplete. My first match I never even saw her until the end of the match when me and my friend helped the Nea escape - and my second match… Well, that went poorly. Not only was I tunneled out, but I started lagging towards the end, which wasn't convenient.

I don't think she's that difficult to face, but obviously it's day one so we don't have too many, if any, players who've mastered her. I can see where she could be overbearing depending on who is playing her, but she feels pretty balanced right now. I don't own her (I'm never giving BHVR any more of my money thanks to them basically confirming they don't care about Survivors) so I don't know how she feels to play, but in terms of playing against, she feels balanced.

EDIT: I've now faced her a few more times and… Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. I'm not having the worst time I've had against a Killer cough Kaneki cough But I have noticed she seems capable of hitting through walls. Also, her recovery time after hitting in head form is far too short. Other than that, it's not the worst it could be considering BHVR's track record of screwing over Survivors with horrible updates and OP Killers. At the very least, I've gotten better at looping thanks to this. Now, the new Michael buffs? Jesus, he's as fast as Krasue's head form, and while I won that match, it was not fun, let me tell you. MF would not leave me alone.

me and my friends think shes worse than kaneki ngl

  • i was excited for a new chapter but im not giving them my money when they expect me to play whatever the hell this is.

thanks for the cute cosmetics though i guess?

absolutely not. i'm in disbelief that this is the current live state of the game and i refuse to deal with scamper 3.0 every game for the next month.

ggs dbd ! i am not playing ts.

  • biggest tip i can give is to protect your 3 gen that spawns main, if that 3 gen gets split you will struggle to protect the other gens on either side of the map
