As a survivor main, I rarely see three gens -- and when I do it's almost always Skull Merchant. I feel like that's the reason for all this, because otherwise I think three gens are fine. I've seen an increase in tunneling and proxy camping, which I think would be a worse problem for newer players. I'd say I'm above-average and we do okay with it, but let a nurse show up and someone is killing themselves on hook.

Yes, but it does sometimes happen when players make mistakes, and so.. as unfair as it is for killers to force a 3-gen, it's just as unfair if these changes punish the killer for the survivor mistakes. That's as I just said, my fear that these changes might do.

  • @ad19970 said:

I think we should wait and see what these 3 gen changes will be before jumping to conclusions. Might really only nerf those situations that have games drag on for half an hour or more and that's it.

Of course, if 3 gen were to nerfed in any impactful way without giving killers a compensation, thing will look very grim for survivor queue times, I am positive. But we don't know the changes yet, so we should wait and see.

That is my fear. I totally get the issue when a killer goes out of their way to force a 3-gen, but when the survivors just make mistakes, why should they be told "It's okay you screwed up massively and got yourself into a 3-gen situation, we're not letting that terrible killer player get the win with a totally unfair 3-gen!"

They say they strive for a 60% average kill rate, but... if they go for all the changes survivors are insisting on, we're going to end up with a much lower kill rate.

This is 100% an unrelated rant on an unpopular opinion about the new movie-going experience at my local theater. Feel free to ignore this vent.

The old heads here might get where I'm coming from with this, but the new-age movie-going experience is so foreign to me. I didn't see a single person, no one taking tickets, no one behind the desk, no one in the lobby but my friend and I since it's all self-service now. The hottest movies of the season were all playing at the same time tonight (on a weekend night) and I hadn't seen anyone until I had already bought a ticket and went inside. I said, "Damn they probably don't even ID at the counter anymore for R movies 😂." Where is the movie-going magic? Where did the atmosphere go?

I'm old school in a lot of the things I do, and the movie-going experience is one of those. I don't buy tickets in advance to movies. Usually, it'd be arriving early, wait in line, get your tickets from a person at the counter (or avoid counter line and self-service kiosk on the side), getting some snacks and going to the theater to pick out a good seat in the back somewhere. The Theater companies have been moving to universally standardize assigned seating within the past few years across many parts of the USA without them.

Used to have a traditional theater with no reservation system even during 2020-2021ish, but It ain't like that here anymore at least lol. Universal seating at the theater and the only front row available when I got there today. Before it even started I scope the room out and it's so empty. Okay, maybe people will come before the lights go down and the movie starts. The movie begins and still a pretty empty room than what it was saying when I came in and picked my seats. I'd already moved seats cause no one else came to claim these seats they had apparently paid for in advance. Screw that. Presale seats to a movie, what a joke. Not even a good one cause they probably charged that person a $2 convenience fee just for the "convenience" of pre-claiming your seat (The one my ass was very comfy viewing the movie in because you didn't show up). It's a freaking movie theater we are all sitting here looking at the same screen for crying out loud.

Anyway, It's a completely different experience just seeing a movie now that online ticket orders and reservations are the new norm around my area.

Edit: Came back to write to hell with reserved seating. Give me back the traditional movie theater atmosphere 😤.

That's what this movie is about, and why it's 10 times better than the original.

Bingo. You also can't retroactively put it on when you realize the Killer is trying to 3 gen. Once you're in the match, it's too late, so equipping something as a counter is not possible.

I would say please make sure that your solution doesn't end up giving an advantage to survivor against killers that are not trying to force a 3-gen, but the survivors aren't paying attention. I never try to 3-gen, so when it happens, it's because the survivors let it happen themselves by just repairing the first generator they come to. Even when I don't bring Deja Vu, that's something I make sure not to ever do.

  • @bornagain234 said:

I bet theyll add another gen.

Survivors dont want to have a 3gen in mind from the start they want to just slam the gens out. Theyre dumbing the game down like crazy.

As much as I hate to say things like that, I kind of thing you might be right. I don't force a 3-Gen, and those who are able to as killer are super-boring IMO. But, if the survivors aren't paying attention and 3-gen themselves, then that's their own, and so that's my fear of this "solution." It's probably going to end up punishing the killers for the survivors not paying attention.

  • @Fërgesë said:

3 Gen shouldn't exist. Such a cheesy way to win.

Very few killers I find actively go for it, launch Skull Merchants were the worst because it was so easy for her. When I play killer, I rarely if ever actively try to push a 3-gen, but I get handed one. Unless yo have a perk like Deja Vu or Visionary, you run the risk. Survivors let it happen.

To be clear, I play both sides, usually Killer when I am solo and SWF with friends, and I can count on one hand (excluding "Chess Merchant" matches) where we lost to a 3-Gen, however as Killer, it happens a lot more. So, to survivors, I say it's up to you to not let it happen.

  • I have a friend who has been a "computer security specialist" for decades now. She's what the industry calls a white hat, so I asked her. Took her less than 5 min to learn everything she needed to know to hack this game, and would be the same for pretty much any other. Stopping cheaters is just impossible, just as stopping pirates is. I remember years ago the manager at GameStop told me that this game, forget which one, was going to feature a foolproof way to stop piracy, something about each disc having a code embedded that specifically required the CD-ROM to read. So it was literally unhackable. I told him it would be hacked in a day or two. I was wrong. It was hacked in five minutes. All you had to do was take a black laundry marker around the edge of the disc, when it couldn't' find the code it glitched out. Absolutely and hilarious, but that goes to show, the hackers WILL find a way, no matter how foolproof you think your game is.

As for their silence, my white hat friend would tell you that they cannot be transparent as we would like them to be, as anything they say to us, the hackers hear. They can't give them a heads up!

Obviously a definitive answer is gonna have to wait until we see what changes are being made to him for live, but going from playing a few games as Chucky back to the Pig feels depressing for me, not gonna lie. She just feels so limited at everything compared to Chucky apart from slowdown since Chucky has none of that in his toolkit. I've stuck with the Pig through thick and thin for the majority of my time playing this game, but I feel like my willpower for standing by her has been running thin for a while. It's hard for me to see the way the Chuck plays and not feel like Pig is obsolete the way Bubba used to be compared to pre-nerf Billy or pre-PTB Trickster is compared to Huntress (granted, Bubba and Trickster came out after Billy and Huntress respectively, so "obsolete" technically is the wrong word to use for them, but I imagine you get what I mean).

Is there anything The Pig might have that can give her a meaningful leg up over The Good Guy, or do you think there is no point to sticking with the Pig beyond having an attachment to the character or for memes like snoot booping?

If you have to ask, the answer is yes.

For me however, the answer is no. That's not saying I won't play Tiffany a lot, I for sure will. But my primary killers are still Pig and Legion.

There will not be a reward for owning the chapter previously.

Just want to say thank you for this. So many players (not just in DBD) have this sense of entitlement that they had it first, they are special.... now nobody else can have it. As someone who DID buy all the Stranger Things content before it left the game, I am happy that it's returned so new players can enjoy it too.

  • I agree, but to be fair the "throw the match" challenges are nothing new. There are tons of them throughout the tomes.

Don't get me started on the one a few tomes ago that was to escape running No Mither and no other perks.

So far, Helena Bonham Carter and Karen Gillan are the best choices I've seen.

I'd love to see Elvira added, but that's a character rather than an actress.

Well, yes. I mean her real name is Cassandra Peterson, but she's best known as Elvira. But okay, if you don't want to count her, then my second choice would probably be Ryan Reynolds, third Cary Elwes.

  • Is it too soon to ask for a Liv Morgan survivor skin?

    Untitled Image

Seriously though, there are many iconic horror franchises that many people have not heard of, but many more have, and like it or not, Chucky has always been one of the top most wanted killers after Jason. Most of us just thought a doll sized killer would never work.

(But also seriously, Liv Morgan heading a DBD x WWE crossover would slay with the inclusion of Chucky!)

  • The easiest way to solve the SWF problem is to nerf The Pig.

    Untitled Image

Seriously though. They are not going to get rid of SWFs nor start banning for using voice chats, nor put restrictions on SWFs built into the game. It would absolutely KILL the game.

If you want to play by tournament rules, play in tournaments.

  • Yes, BHVR has said many times, due to the creator (even if he has nothing to do with the franchise anymore) being a terrible person, they want nothing to do with the franchise and I doubt their policy will change.

  • @JaxHampster said:

Naw, it's more likely Springtrap. It could maybe be chucky but then it would mean thry lied about this chapter being a big liscense

Yea, Chucky only has 7 movies and a TV show with 3 seasons. Totally not a killer anyone has ever heard of.

  • Also, hear me out... what about a Nica Peirce Legendary for Legion featuring Fiona Dourif voice lines? Her arms and legs could be ghost arms/legs, similar to to how Charles Lee Ray manifests for hooks.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

Wish granted. I've heard Chucky swearing multiple times on the PTB.

Its glorious. I can't wait to hear Jennifer Tilly on the 28th. That day I will be like "Chucky who? This is the Tiffany chapter. Who is this Chucky you all are talking about?"

  • @GannTM said:

I don’t think it will. I’m not really sure of a scenario where you would need to do that anyway.

it's not about a scenario where one would NEED to, more of a curiosity if one were to forget they were on PTB and buy a new outfit.

It's great that it's back, but holy hell have they weighted the Hawkins map. I've played 17 trials so far today and only one wasn't Hawkins. And that one was the migraine-inducing Borgo, so it wasn't really a break.

They shouldn't turn off map repeat prevention completely for things like this. Relax it a bit so there's more opportunity for for the map to come up (say 2 or 3 out of every ten maps), but having it able to be every trial with no offerings is painful.

They always do this with new maps, its nothing different. Yes, Hawkins is not technically new, but it is for many players, so they chose to treat it as a new map.

  • What I want to see now:

My name has been Scoops Robin for DBD since the day it was removed. I had given up all hope, and now.... I am absolutely ecstatic and my hope is renewed!

Can we buy the characters from Stranger Things as a DLC? Or can you only buy them 1 by 1 from the in-game store?

Yes! It's back on Steam for $11.99 (US)

  • For sure! I got Stranger Things before it's removal was announced and I bought all the outfits including Johanthan in the last chance sale, but i am one to be very happy they have returned for new players to enjoy... and my name has been "Scoops Robin for DBD" since the day it was removed. I had given up all hope, and now I have hope again! It WILL happen! Hopefully sooner rather than later!

    These three belong together!

  • While nothing is a guarantee, I can almost certainly say that yes they will, at Christmas time along with the rest of the Ugly Sweaters Collection.

  • Thanks everyone who answered! YEa, I did finally get it by walking right up to a generator and throwing it directly at it. So finicky.

  • My original name online was Ragabash Moon, which came from the tabeltop game, Werewolf: The Apocalypse. But my Xbox (original) AND PC were both stolen and so I called up Microsoft and asked them to cancel my subscription and change my password. However, for some reason they instead permanently deactivated my account. So I had to come up with a new name, and so I had the idea of combining "Absolute Zero" and "Ground Zero" into Absolutegroundzero after watching this classic:

Weird Al Yankovic's Christmas at Ground Zero (embedded playback is disabled by owner.)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t039p6xqutU

then removed some vowels and changed the O in zero to a 0 and Absolutgrndzer0 was born haha. I even own the domain name absolutegroundzero dot com though I don't really do anything with it other than using it instead of sites like photobucket.

Guessing you're hoping for Stranger Things? IIRC Nov 6th is Stranger Things day. It's possible. I do think it's Predator though.

    Untitled Image

  • I have an outlandish theory, that is that they are waiting for the license holder to announce it first on November 6th. Yea, outlandish and very unlikely, but... I will never stop dreaming!

  • Many have suggested solutions, but the problem is every solution heavily favors survivors and makes the game infinitely harder for killers. Don't get me wrong, if a survivor is going to be tunneled out at the start of the game, it's usually me. SO I do get where you are coming from. But I also play Killer and so I know all the factors that go into playing.

One person suggested not being able to hook the same survivor twice in a row. Sounds good on paper, but in practice? This person just got off the hook, they're on a generator... I have to let them finish it because I am unable to locate one of the other 3 survivors that are being all stealthy, taking advantage of knowing I cannot hook the same survivor twice? Sure, most games wouldn't go that way, but games already do sometimes... Two survivors left just stealthing so they can try for hatch when you hook the other person.

  • Yea, while I understand sore losers to a point, I will never understand sore winners. You won, move on, don't sit there and tell the other side how much they sucked.

    *Turns on Old Man Mode*

Back in my day, we were taught to respect our opponents and thank them for a good game played after we beat them.

    *Turns off Old Man Mode*

  • #1 is cross-progression of all DLC and outfits. If we have to rebuy all the characters and outfits brand new, I'm out.

  • If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding! How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?

And then you decide to buy a game where 50% of its content is first person? Questionable decision, but you do you...

There are a lot of people that just don't play killer. Health reasons or not. But the healt reasons are why I think they should let us opt out of playing one particular side when it comes to daily challenges.

  • Catherine! Have Catherine as the killer, similar to Dredge but instead of Nightfall, she turns the survivors into sheep in a vertical maze they have to find their way out of, if they take too long they get a quick Mori.

Hey, you wanted dumb. Don't get me wrong I love Catherine, but it would be very dumb in DBD.

Yeah, they both sneak up crouched! I always get a different ‘startled’ vibe w Myers when he pops out standing silently, but still gets my heart racing😄

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SLA63U6R0W6M/img-8874.jpeg

You could always try playing as Meggers wearing her ‘Boop the Snoot’ mask n letting Pig know you’re a big fan… maybe it’ll help if ya see Pig more often in a friendly manner.

fwiw tho, I’ve played w GF and Pig since they released and still get uneasy at the start of every match when the Killer hasn’t yet been revealed n I kno it might be them sneaking up🫣 Especially on indoor maps.

Always good to keep yer head on a swivel!

Sadly that mask has only been available for a limited time twice, the last of which was literally only two days.

As to the OP, as a Pig main myself, I'd agree with what some others have said, and also maybe consider giving her a try yourself. Learning to play her for a few matches will possibly help you.

  • Sure, but they can never nerf another Killer perk again either. Do you agree to these terms?

  • So tunnel out 2 survivors. Yea, see that's not something I find at all fun. Which is part of the problem of a lot of challenges, though is not by far the worst.

  • Okay, I did finally get it on Lery's but only because as I said, the survivors were the ones actually opening the portals, I was being rather more "sweaty" than I like to be to make sure I'd have a full bar BEFORE The survivors opened the portals... assuming they did. But really, it's a very annoying one to try to do when you are trying to just have fun and not be "sweaty" now, what you as killer find sweaty can vary of course, but in my eyes what I felt I had to do to get that challenge done was in direct counter to how I enjoy playing the game.

  • @BlackRabies said:

Not that hard. It's rather easy to get a full bar, but finding the time to go in the tricky part, so just go in the moment you see them open and you can just claim all 4.

It's hard when you're the only one caring. The times I have not put in energy they don't open. I mean either I'll eventually get it, or the event will end and I will miss out on the last 4 items. We'll see. I am up to 6 tries now though.

  • @Nazzzak said:

They're not gen-rushing, they're just not focusing on the event objectives like you are. If you're not chasing them because you're focused on getting haunts, then they have nothing else to do. I haven't reached that challenge yet but is it one you can do as either survivor or killer? If so then do it as survivor.

Yes, I realize that, and its even harder on survivor because as I am trying to gather the energy, I'm dead before I even get into the void half the time. It's just a very poorly designed challenge especially so late in the event when so many players are "done" with it and many didn't like it to begin with.

As I said, I usually don't use the term gen rushing, but my point is that nobody seems to care about the event anymore and this challenge very much relies on all 5 players caring about the event.

Oh jeez. I'll get mine up once I get some free time this weekend. Both my piggy and Meg are nothing to brag on 😂.

Oh yea, my Meg is only P3. I only include Meg in the humble brag, as those that have the Pig mask are our disciples. As my meme a few pages back said, You are on this Council, but we do not grant you the rank of Master.

  • @Rizzo said:

I would assume they are collecting the feedback at the moment, then they will probably explain the results of the tests.

Yea, I was never actually included in the tests, so I had no idea it had been restored. But could you please give them my feeback, that I believe it would be overall a more healthy game for the queue system as killers would not constantly lobby dodge those of high prestige, causing a backfill and trashing the entire MMR system? When I play with my streamer friend who is a P100 Nea (and does not have TTV in her name) we usually get at least one, usually 2-3 lobby dodging killers before one finally accepts every game we play together.

To be perfectly honest, while I do not because I do not want to be the cause of what I see as a major problem, I do get the temptation to lobby dodge when I see P100s and... it affects how I play the actual game in a negative way.

  • Wow, thanks! I hadn't caught this one in my friend's Discord DBD updates page.

  • Okay, Pig Council lets all humble brag. Post your loadout screen, showing your favorite build, outfit and prestige level!

I am sure I am still a baby Pig at 23, but I thought of doing this when a SWF of survivors were gasping at my dedication to Pig.

    image.png

Megs, you may participate too, but you MUST be wearing your Pig mask. If not you, will have a trap put on your head along with Jigsaw's Annotated Plan, slugged, and then WE will start finishing generators ourselves.

  • @MeanieDeeny said:

I understand survs dislike being camped, tunneled, etc etc sweaty killers…I am a sweaty killer, but I don’t want to sweat during the event. I want to play chill, get my challenges done, let other people do theirs…so that’s how I’ve been playing. Casual.

So I had a match today. I wanted to do a challenge..I’m a 51 Plague, 5000 kills and a decent amount of hours in the game. I consider myself mostly experienced at this point, capable of killing survs.

We load in, I don’t camp, I don’t tunnel, I know there’s a Feng on death hook (I don’t go back looking for her), I hook others inbetween. I hook a Yoichi at end game and still don’t camp him.

I felt a couple of them were being, I won’t say toxic, but just a negative towards killer playstyle. The Kate was doing gens in my face, mid chase etc which I felt was rude. So I hooked her and I kicked the gen and I shook my head “yes.” Like yeah, I kicked your gen watch it regress..hey I am the killer after all. Anyway, they all go. Like I said I was playing casual, not looking to kill anyone. Just do my challenge…

The Kate messages me after and tells me I don’t need to be playing toxic by shaking my head at her, I struggled to get hooks etc

So it’s like…if I went in/go in and full on sweat and 4k..I’m toxic..and if I play casual with no intentions of getting anyone out of the match, but do anything the Survivor doesn’t like, I’m also toxic?

It just feels like there’s no winning..Killer will be harassed, no matter the playstyle chosen. Feedback? Do I just show no mercy if I’m going to be harassed anyway? I just thought everyone might like to get their challenges done and chill a bit, instead of having a sweat every match.

Since we can't read minds, we never know the other side's actual intentions. So my advice is just play the game as you find fun and then say GGWP at the end. If you get salt, shrug it off. Like great example. Today playing Pig with Amanda's Letter (lets you see auras near you when crouched) I would hook them, then crouch and look around before moving away. Nearly every time there was a survivor trying to hide near the hook, so I'd ambush them, then down them as they made the save, doing a hook trade. End game someone says "Nice camping" and I was like "What? When did I camp?" and the survivor was like "You totally were camping." Funny thing is, apparently the other 3 survivors were a SWF and they actually defended me and told me how much they love Pig.

So yea, just play the way you need to do to have fun and accept that sometimes that will trigger the other side's sense of fun, that's something you can't help. It took me awhile, but I am to the point that I appreciate a great Head On play, sometimes even a good flashlight stun, when I don't get tired of them and throw on Lightborn.

When we got the Saw tome with her having a reverse beat trap on her own head, I was so excited. Only thing I hate is that they didn't even ask Shawnee Smith to do her squeal. I really wish they would patch her in, but I know they probably never will even though she's said she is willing.
