I think they cant. She has build-in slowdown. If her stealth is as strong as Wraith, GF, then beartrap should go.
No, they can. I am talking about her terror radius more specifically They specifically nerfed her saying that they wanted all stealth killers to have a 32 meter terror radius, then they released every stealth killer since with 24-meter terror radius, and Myers is still 32-meters but only in T3, otherwise he's 16.
Here is a full video on all the nerfs she's had over the years, and how it became a meme.

Despite the "Nerf Pig" joke that's existed in this community for who knows how long, I think we can all agree that the Pig is on the weaker side of the Killer roster. She is one of the six Killers getting "tweaks" in March, and after seeing the recent Hillbilly and Onryo reworks, I'm interested to see what changes they've got in mind.
The main issues with the Pig for me are:
- Lacking stealth ability, being forced to move at 90% movement speed makes crouching painful
- Lacking chase ability, Survivors can outplay the ambush pretty easily or simply leave loops before you can charge it up
- Mediocre slowdown without add-ons; with add-ons the RBTs become really oppressive
For me, Pig is a jack of all trades, master of none. Mediocre stealth, mediocre chase and mediocre slowdown, there's not really a specific area she excels in. Against good survivors and teams, Pig is basically unplayable without abusing her best add-ons that affect RBTs. IMO she'll be fine if they buff her stealth and ambush, but what do you guys, specifically the Pig mains out there, think she needs? Do you think moderate tweaks to her stealth and ambush are fine, or does she need a rework?
Make her ACTUALLY consistent with other stealth killers, instead of the consistency rule they nerfed her for then completely ignored in every stealth killer released after her. That's the main issue IMO.

Hi,
im relatively new to the game and have recently started playing as The Killer (Trapper). I find things can get pretty confusing at times and am pretty sure I am accidentally tunnelling. I find it hard to keep tabs on who I’ve hit, downed and hooked. Other than experience and time are there any tips on offer as to how to avoid tunnelling?
I want to be a good/fun player and want the opposition to have an enjoyable time too.
Okay, as someone who plays both sides, I feel you. The thing is, ask a survivor main and you'll get an answer on what tunneling is. Ask another survivor main and you'll get a different answer. So, you should NOT tunnel, however you need to decide what tunneling is to you.
Now, again as someone who plays both sides, I see tunneling as when someone is unhooked and you immediately go after the person that was just unhooked. You don't give them time to do anything else, your goal is to single out this one person and remove them from the game as soon as possible. If you ask me, that's very bad, don't do it (unless they have Boil Over. I fully admit I hate that perk and I will actively tunnel anyone who brings it.)
However, some players think that if you hook the same person twice in a row, regardless of what went on between hooks, you're tunneling. Their opinions are valid, but if that's not what you consider tunneling, then you're free to do it.
In the end, on both sides, I play the way I find fun, and I expect the other side will do the same. Sometimes, their idea of fun will not be fun for me, and them's the breaks, as sometimes my idea of fun will not be theirs.
Example, I play a lot of what is known as Betrayal Pig. It's a lot of fun, and a lot of times the survivors make jokes or at least say gg in end game chat. But occasionally it makes someone very very angry, and they say I got an undeserved kill. I tell them GG and GLHF next.

I have been saying similar things for years now, but you said it so much more eloquently and with better explanation overall.

Yup. On top of that, surge was nerfed awhile back because it was redesigned to trigger multiple times without cooldown. These tokens are going to end up getting eaten up fast before the halfway mark of a match. For every 2 surges on a generator, that's 1 less eruption you are allowed to use, too! At BEST you are now only allowed 4 eruptions per generator. Yet again, more and more regression nerfs. It even removes trail of torment in the match eventually! Killers do a lot of excessive kicking to trigger trail of torment. No more!
Okay, Surge only pops when you DOWN a survivor. So even if you manage to down a survivor 8 times near a single generator (unlikely) that's also 8 survivors downed. If you haven't already killed 3 survivors, then... you got seriously outplayed and you're already losing the match.
-
Note it says "loses a health state" so it's going to be very easy for survivors to mess with this with perks like No Mither or Plot Twist, unless it only means a direct health state loss from the killer.

What I’m talking about is the random event where survivors let go of generators, get a skill check, and simply gets hit with a 10% gen regression out of dumb luck.
This should have been removed a long time ago, but given the Jan 2024 patch notes:
”At least 5% of the Generator’s total charges must be repaired to stop regression, otherwise it will begin regressing again when the Survivor stops repairing.”
This gameplay feature urgently needs to go.
Yes, it needs to go, but it's not that easy, as it's caused by latency. In order to actually fix it, they'd need to allow for a survivor to let go of a generator to avoid a skill check, as there is no other way to know if your latency caused to to miss the popup that the server side registered for you.

there can be reasons to save a bot honestly like dropping mmr and getting bps in the meantime and having certain dailies/challenges or if the save is just too free to pass on. or they might be THAT altruistic lol
Yea, or maybe they don't realize it's a bot. I've had a few times where I was too focused on getting us all out to notice that little "BOT" symbol, especially on Coldwind Farm, Eyrie of Crows, and Dead Dawg Saloon where it's kind of camouflaged I wish they'd make it brighter and a contrasting color to be more obvious.

Honestly there isn't much yu can do except do what you can to make sure you (and as many of them) escape as possible. Guide by example, and worst case scenario you will raise your personal MMR and get those newer players less and less.

Your not forced to unlock anything to get those cosmetics. There are characters on both sides you can play. You can argue about not having to play killer to unlock survivor cosmetics, but for most cases people would argue BHVR incentives to promote people playing both sides is a good thing.
SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT ABLE TO PLAY KILLER DUE TO ACCESSIBILITY ISSUES OR JUST A SIMPLE DESIRE NOT TO PLAY AS THE KILLER. THESE PLAYERS ARE VALID, AND SURVIVOR COSMETICS SHOULD NOT BE LOCKED BEHIND A WALL FORCING THEM TO PLAY A ROLE THEY ARE UNCOMFORTABLE PLAYING. THAT SHOULD BE THE END OF THE STORY, AND IT IS FOR ME.

Dude... it's completely OK to unlock something you think you'd enjoy playing. All the characters are usable, but not every character will be tailored to everyone.
Yes, it is? I never said it wasn't. I did however say that a player should not be required to unlock and play something they have no desire to actually play. If someone has reasons they do not ever want to touch Killer, they shouldn't have survivor content locked behind killer gameplay, and that seems to be how the events are going forward.
I feel even worse for Jeff mains that have no desire or ability (due to accessibility) to play killer are being locked out of one of Jeff's cosmetics because they are not able (no matter what you think, their reasons are legitimate) to play Killer

I am not the one you quoted, but I can say based on those players I know myself, considering he's a licensed killer, probably not. They should not have to purchase the one killer that is actually usable in order to unlock survivor content.

i won't cuss you out for using Boil Over, but don't cuss me out for bleeding you out.
-
But again, a not insignificant number of players are UNABLE TO PLAY KILLER DUE TO ACCESSIBILITY ISSUES.
Even then, why should I be required to grind out survivor outfits I will never use just to get the killer outfits that I do want, or vice versa? Even worse for killers that you may not even own or desire to purchase.
To note, I am a player who DOES play both sides, so it doesn't matter to me personally, but I have empathy and compassion for my fellow players, especially those with accessibility issues regarding first person games, and so I will always hate this new thing where survivor cosmetics are locked behind killer gameplay.
-
Also remember that many players are unable to play Killer not because they don't want to, but because they get motion-sickness with First-Person Games. While when the FoV slider comes out (if it ever does) that will help some players, it won't help them all. If this was a fully FP game, you could rightly say "Then don't play" but it's not. Yes, players can not play killer, but they should not be forced to do so in order to obtain survivor content.
-
@Rulebreaker said:
Sooo correct us if were mistaken here but your complaining about not being able to get all cosmetics (both survivor and killer...) without actually having to play both sides so you can get the cosmetics for the side you dont play?
Even if you only play survivor, there is no way to get all the survivor cosmetics without finishing the event on both sides. So even if you never once play killer with the cosmetics you earned, you still have to buy them to get the outfit head for Jeff, a survivor. That's the complaint, and even as a player of both sides, I see the OP's point and I agree with them. It's lame they way they do it now.
-
I agree they need to redo the generator placements a bit better. Hopefully that's their "solution" and not some faster generator progress based on proximity to other generators but I honestly am afraid that's what they are going to do.
Call me a pessimist, but I really think that this "Solution" is only going to end up punishing those killers who do not try to force a 3-gen situation from the start for survivors mistakes. Unless you are in a cracked Voice-coms S.E.A.L team SWF, you have no idea what your other teammates are doing for the most part still, so you can usually say "oh the killer forced a 3-gen!" but odds are unless it's one of a small handful of killers, no... just your teammates screwed up.
That's why I always bring Deja Vu now, to break up 3-gens, but even then I've had times where I've ended up 3-genned because the other solo survivors were doing all generators on one side of the map.

Want an absurd example? Me. Am I, GeneralV, not a relic of the past? Am I not someone who was here for the Old DBD but doesn't fit in the modern one?
You see the problem? This line of thinking would eventually lead to another game entirely. What can be done is understand every item, add-on and power in this game, and if they are to be changed then it must be because of a balance issue. Not simply because they are old.
Agreed, heck why don't we say that The Nurse is a "relic of the past" and she needs to just be removed? They can also remove that relic The Doctor while they are at it.

Hillbilly is a good example.
How do you take the killer everyone considers to be the "golden standart" and butcher him?
That caused a lot of frustration because it wasn't needed, nor asked for. The feedback was overwhelmingly negative but the nerf wasn't reverted.
So feedback is ignored not once, but twice.
And that, @AbsolutGrndZer0, is when we have a problem.
Yes, but sometimes, even if the feedback is overwhelmingly negative, even if there isn't some other source of information, developers have the right to not agree. We may think it makes no sense, and maybe it doesn't. But I would rather the developers make controversial decisions the majority do not agree with than to make stupid changes just because the majority want them.

Apparently - though sadly I don’t have a source so only hearsay - Konami responded to this already and said that it’s up to BHVR. It’s been a while and I tried to ask this question in the recent Reddit AMAs but well sadly didn’t get an answer there.
(and if anyone has got the source I would like to have it - may also be linking it if I get the chance to ask in a coming AMA again)
It's likely something in the contract that was originally negotiated, which the greater Konami staff would not know of. So them saying "We have no control over that" could be true, but also not true as contracts can't just be changed on a whim.
That said, I do wish they were not linked. At least the heads are different, unlike Jill Valentine's linked cosmetics, the launch ones the head is identical to her default head.

Absolutelly true, and for the record you got it right, the average dbd player is incredibly bad at the game, evidence of it is meme killers like old sadako and pig having such a high killrate when any decent survivor should loop them until dbd 2 is released.
Well, is Legion a meme killer? Is Trapper a meme killer? What is a "meme killer" to you?

Yes, that is true... But how many people who play this game didn't even bother with the AMA cause they didn't have any pressing questions or concerns? You got one right here.
If you are not enjoying DBD, that's fair. Especially all the streamers burning out lately, I find the majority of the ones i see stream DBD exclusively and I've never thought that was a healthy thing to do. While I am not a streamer, I play this, I play 3 other games regularly though too. One of my friends is a primary DBD streamer but technically variety, as she puts it "We play way too much DBD and occasionally other horror games from time to time." and yet she ONLY plays DBD on stream. Off stream she plays other games so she doesn't get burnt out.
Also, I tend to play both sides, and some of my games go well, some do not. Yes, they get frustrating and I do make my opinions known on here, but especially in a game with two sides like this game has, many times it may seem the developers aren't listening to YOU. That doesn't mean they aren't listening to someone else. No matter what the developers do, SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE DISAPPOINTED. It really sucks when it's you they didn't listen to, but it sucks for someone else when it is you.

This perk combo has bought extra chases and time plenty of times in a tunneling situation. So, no, I disagree with you. It is too strong, I agree fully. But removing it before this tunneling meta vanishes is just cruel and one sided.
Thing is, other than simply not allowing the same person to be hooked twice in a row, there isn't really any way to stop a killer who chooses to tunnel from doing so.

I mean really the inability to get grabs fixed the problem already as best can be done. At best you unhook yourself and then get tunneled, or your friends save you and you get tunneled. At best it just made proxy camping more popular, and as Choy's video said, even if they could save you, Kindred pretty much guarantees that you can't save yourself and yet your friends won't save you because they think you can.

The fact that most people are really bad at the game will guarantee even a meme killer like pig can 4k, because the average player is horrid at this game (old sadako had a high killrate, a killer with essentially no power had a high killrate, legit how?), also regarding what you said, even after the mmr softcap, it is still a mix of like 90% potatoes and maybe the unusual team that actually know what they are doing. So even as easy as skillchecks are some people will somehow mess then, I still think its inexcusable to fail such an easy skillcheck as pig boxes but specially in dbd people will search for any excuse to avoid admiting they are awfull at the game.
I mean whether there is an excuse or not, doesn't make what you originally said true. You said that nobody fails skill checks unless it's on purpose, and that's just not true. So, either you think nobody ever fails skill checks, or you think that the average player is horrid at the game. Both can't be true.
-

Its the only way they are failing such an easy skillcheck, like maybe an overcharge skillcheck might be excusable but a pig box skillcheck has NO excuse being missed (if pig doesnt interrumpt you).
Just because you think they have "no excuse" doesn't mean it isn't happening. But hey, okay. I get a lot of survivors throwing their skill checks then on my traps. Must be why I get such easy 4Ks with Video Tape. So when will my MMR be high enough that people stop throwing their skill checks?

They are NOT cracked, its just that in order to fail a pig skillcheck you have to actually try and fail it. Only new people or people that are interrupted by pig fail those.
That's just not true. I I doubt the players I go against are purposely failing their skill checks. But hey, I guess it's possible.
-
Yea, it's kind of weird. In the past only some generators and hooks were event enabled but then they made it so all generators and hooks count as event ones, but the code to change the color of those certain generators seems to have been left in.

Yes, Nicolas Cage's voice lines are only heard by the player whom is playing him. However, most cosmetic sounds and killer voice lines are heard by everyone.

I think the problem is that Otzdarva (same goes for all the Fog Whisperers probably) is not a developer. Are they not listening to him? Possibly, but I think they probably are, as why else make him a Fog Whisperer? The thing is, be it Otzdarva, me, or you... again we are not developers. There is so much data behind the scenes they have. So when Otzdarva suggests a way to "fix" a problem he sees, there are many players that agree with him as that don't (with all due respect to him, I am one who tends to not agree with his design changes, so I am glad they don't make the changes he suggests. That doesn't mean I don't respect him and his contributions to the community.) Some don't see why what he sees as a problem is a problem. To me, Otzdarva is suffering from the same problem many gamers do.
The developers are not listening to ME becomes The developers are not listening to their players.
A great example is another game (an MMO) I play did a poll on what new species to add, and the winner of the poll was a cat race. So, they announce they would develop the cat race. Well, immediately the forums were flooded with how NOBODY wanted a cat race, they wanted the 3rd option. Well, that may have been true for those players, but the poll and other data obtained by the developers showed otherwise. So the game got the cat race. Later, the game got the other two races, but the most vocal players were those that thought the developers never listen to their players, but the truth was that when every player wants something different, someone is going to be disappointed.
As for Otzdarva quitting, he never said that. He just said he's not going to do anymore suggestions on changes he thinks should be done, which I think is totally fair. Obviously the developers don't tend to agree with him on design changes, and that's their right. It's also his right not feel it's no longer worth his time to make any further videos of that type.

My codex is simple, and it applies to both killer and survivor.

Years ago I used to play an online game decades ago that after starting Windows, the game couldn't be played AT ALL until your computer had been running for one hour. I wasn't the only one with this issue. The developers couldn't figure out the problem. All the nasty comments insulting the developers started. Pretty much everything said in this thread. Then, one of us figured out what the problem was. Every single person with this issue was playing on a Dell PC running Windows 95. It seems that in the Dell OEM version of Windows 95, the ports necessary for that game were blocked for one hour after Windows starts. Why? No clue. But it was. It was a weird choice that Dell chose to put in their version of Windows 95.
My reason for telling this story is that just because you have issues, just because a lot of players have issues, that doesn't mean it's a problem with the game or anything they have control over.

My dream chapter is Phantasm, so this would be my dream trailer.
SPOILERS FOR PHANTASM V!!!
So, at the end of Phantasm V, after fighting The Tall Man non-stop for nearly 40 years, Reggie Bannister is alone. The Tall Man has won. Nearly everyone in the world is dead, including all of Reggie's friends. It's over. He's given up, and so he makes a deal with The Tall Man, he'll stop fighting, he'll let the The Tall Man win, if he can have his friends back. Tommy, Michael, and Joey. The Tall Man agrees, and they all drive off into the sunset in their iconic '78 Hemi Cuda.
