Plague is super bad in chases because of her slow movement speed. So she's weak to looping. The compensation for this is that her power has a long range and her sickness effect means that she usually only needs one hit to end chases since no one heals.
Basically, she removes stealthy playstyles at the expense of being weak to aggressive playstyles
she has normal movement speed, same as any other killer except she basically one shots everyone when they refuse to cleanse and if they do shes huntress on steroids but with a medium range.

If Survivors are going down against a Plague without Corrupt Purge, it's not because Plague is a good Killer. There's a reason no one in their right mind thinks M1 Killers with no chase power are good. If this is happening consistently for you, then you are consistently going against Survivors who cannot loop.
I'm sorry, but there's no other way around it. Without Corrupt, Plague has literally no power in a chase. If Survivors are dying to a Killer with no power, then it's not because that Killer is strong.
ah yes every survivor i faced in R1 was bad, and thats where your wrong, when someone is broken and exhausted its easier than you think to land just 1 hit. currently after this bugged rank reset i have been placed in R10 from R1 and am getting 4k after 4k with plague, hag, and doctor. So far i have not lost a single match with plague while going against people who have also been reset to R10 from R1. Or maybe everyone i've ever faced with plague from the past few days and before the reset were trash.

So you love that Plague encourages the ridiculously strong Survivor meta of "don't heal, do gens" and further kills build/playstyle diversity? You love that her power is completely and utterly controlled by Survivors in exchange for being so boring for everyone involved it hurts? You love that she's bad for the game?
Nope i run "battle plague" where i use bbq, infectious fright, pgtw, and blood echo. Since im already good at downing people without her power and my build often lets me get multiple downs survivors cleanse against me since they either want heals or their exhaustion perks and then i snowball. If anything im forcing them to cleanse unless they want to be easily downed and give me my pgtw and blood echo activation throughout the entire game.
edit: and yes this happens consistently

same thing with me, DOUBLE THE PAIN!!!
-
everything you just said is why i love playing plague, especially the part on how she renders healing perks useless :)

Can you even hear whispers with the plagues whispers being so loud?
you could just look at the perk icon to see if it lights up, also the double whispers makes some good asmr.

Does Whispers work against people in lockers?
yes, lockers only prevent aura reading from both you and the killer

than you and your friends will fall as i use fountains faster than you cleanse without depleting them! *laughs in plague noises*

as it says it works like a pallet id assume it wouldnt, but itd be a neat idea for one of his addons when they eventually get round to him.
yea maybe when he gets reworked he will get an ultra rare addon that makes it so breaking pallets and walls does not stop your chainsaw dash. Still would really like to see this as part of his main power tho.
-
ace in the meta?
-
when they rework all the maps to have these walls after this update, more than likely there will be breakable walls in all those places, probably shack too.
-
I believe so, when they change a perk they don't leave anything out and whats said or not said is how the perk will work. so no i don't think it will have a speed penalty.
-
@Ohlookahook2 said:
If killers can break whatever wall they want I'm done. No more dbd for me.
they said only certain walls will be breakable and for now its limited to the new map, you will also be able to see what walls are breakable by the way they look. I think that this will take slightly longer than breaking a pallet so i don't see the problem since you can just run away. My main concern is if billy, leather face, and demo are able to break them quickly since depending on how good they are it might make them a lot more viable.

play however you want and use any perk you'd like. I will only say that there are certain play styles on both sides that are really unfun or very annoying to play against. examples on both sides would be
for survivors:
- Gen rushing since it deprives everyone of a fun game and bloodpoints.
- meta using swf that literally uses every crutch to stay alive, including exploits that are currently available.
- hook sabo squads, these survivors will just get downed in an area without hooks you can get to and is just unfun for both sides as it forces the killer to slug.
- survivors who just troll the killer and t-bag once they realize that their group will easily win, I see this a lot not as a killer but as a solo and its very annoying.
- flash light squads, no one likes getting constantly blinded and having to always pick up a survivor while facing a wall. this is more annoying than effective but still pretty toxic especially the people who do this.
- The "New hook tactic" This is just DUMB, the people who do this are just dumb... it doesn't work and often screws over the person who was just hooked, the entire team, or often it gets both the one doing this and the hooked survivor camped.
- using a key to escape in front of the killer with 2 or more survivors, first off this is the most BS thing in the game and there is nothing the killer can do against this unless he was already chasing the one with the key and even then it usually resulting in the survivor escaping.
- unhooking a survivor in front of the killer as soon as their hooked, it does not matter if you have BT your still screwing over that survivor.
for killers:
- bubba insidious camping, yes its still toxic since if you down someone and get them in the basement you rob them of points and force a depip. These games are often pretty boring too.
- camping as soon as you get someone especially if your playing a killer who can insta down, again same reasons as before but doing this not only shows that you are not competent as a killer but also someone who probably isn't very good at playing killer in the first place.
- proxy camping (this is the last camping one but can you blame me?) yes it's still the same as camping when you can easily get to whoever was at the hook.
- tunneling someone to death, depends on if that survivor pissed you off somehow or was being pretty toxic but other than that there's no need to tunnel unless your doing awful. I personally never tunnel and will instead go after the saviour, I will slug the unhooked if i come across them but i wont hook them.
- using a toxic build on specific killers, things like mint rag hag with M&A with all the other insta down perks, the forever freddy build that was nerfed/removed, old 3 gen doc, ect.
- using a mori on every survivor as soon as you can. if your using a mori than for the love of the entity use it when their on death hook or if it's late in the game (2 or less gens). The offering is a major clutch that if used as stated before will result in every survivor but 1 if he escapes, dying and depiping with few bp along with the killer.
-
I dont like it when people camp without reason but thats it, if there is a survivor who really pissed you off camp em. If the gates are powered also feel free to camp. however if your just camping as soon as you get someone then yea you suck and wont get better at the game any time soon.
-
Billy is the gateway killer in high ranks, yes he is strong but not unbeatable by a long shot. A good team can still destroy a good billy. Now once you get used to high rank and are pretty good you can start trying out other killers and eventually you will have a few others that you play and do well with in high rank, which is why i call him the gateway killer in high ranks. This is why he is played so much and the reason why survivors want him nerfed because apparently we cant have a decent killer that is reliable against good survivors.
-
I think its fine, if your one of the scummy killers that tunnel every chance they get for a early kill you should be punished. I hate doing it, as well as getting stunned, however If that survivor hopes into a locker or is being cocky i will make them waste their DS since it can be a clutch later on.
The only people who complain about DS are the ones who tunnel and who are skilless (IMO) and the people that avoid it completely which ruins the end game for them. IF you can get rid of DS without going out of your way to chase someone who got unhooked while being a scumbag and know when to avoid making them use DS when it can be more beneficial to them then there are few reasons to complain about it. In fact the only times i get hit with DS are during the end game if im forced to pick someone up or they escape, grabbing a survivor in a locker, on a gen, or unhooking someone with DS so they waste it, or If i happened to be nearby the hook and downed the survivor who just got unhooked but i can't find the rescuer so i pick them up.
You can also just slug to be safe while going after someone else which is what i usually do if i down a survivor who was just hooked.

I disagree. Ruin was a great perk for many killers. The biggest problem is the devs are catering to new players that complain too much and don't take the time to learn to overcome the hex. How many veterans out here learned how to either search for the totem or just work through it and hit those great checks. I know I sure did. I used to play 50/50 survivor and killer and now with most of my fav killers being crippled its more like 70/30. Killers that need time to set up (Hag, trapper etc) are almost worthless now unless you get a garbage survivor group. The new meta is now fast map traversing killers and even then you will still see almost 3 gens done in the first 3-4 minutes because you still gotta get hits and downs and hooks. Long story short it's a poor business practice to always attract new customers than to keep old ones who keep coming back (many veterans leaving the game).
I never used Ruin on Hag, as a long as you are good enough and start setting up where the majority of gens are you can do fine with her. I am really good with hag tho so i dont think most hags can snowball hard enough to recover fast enough after 2 or if your really unlucky, 3 gens go off while your setting up. btw the only slow down perks i use on hag are pgtw and sloppy butcher.
-
they need to give us points around the fact that people will not want to cleanse which they did, but didn't do that great of a job.
-
Yes but as before id only use it on killers that im not good with or are not viable and cant put a lot of pressure onto the survivors.
-
i DC ever now and than as survivor for a variety of reasons, mainly if i wont get any progress on the challenge im doing not so much if i get downed first or camped/tunneled. However as a killer i almost NEVER DC, even if im getting destroyed. I think im all my games as killer i have only DC 2 or 3 times and that was when I was still new to this game and faced swf red rankers in low ranks,
-
can you guys break the meta hatch opening keys while your at it? thanks in advance.
-
This is a great idea that would really help the killer in the beginning of a game and with a 2 minute timer survivors can instead try to do totems and chests instead of gens which makes those tasks seem more rewarding since doing gens at this time would be longer and less rewarding. The only issue i can see with this is survivors purposely getting into a chase to end this state of the game so i would make it so it only ends if the killer hits someone, grabs someone, or if 2 minutes pass. Otherwise it can be canceled before killers can set up like hag and trapper since a survivor could just run up to them then run away. The killer can also not easily abuse this since survivors can still do gens and the slowdown will end after 2 minutes.
-
I like how he is right now but... he really should not be able to stop dead hard from working after getting shocked. other than that all i can think of is slightly, VERY slightly increasing the cool down between his shocks.
-
Depends on if i find the hatch or not. if it is in a easy to find area or if it looks like the killer has found it/ looked for it than i will wait at a gate. If i have not found it or i have and its in a area i dont think the killer has been i will try to use it to escape.
-
yea these kind of people usually play survivor too so its much more common for the survivor side of the community to be toxic since its so easy to bully the killer. on a side note, tunneling and camping shows that you probably are not very good at the game but neither are they. going against killers who do this with a decent group should always result in the killer getting 1 or 2 kills at most depending on how fast you gen rush which is what you should do against them. so if you got a 4k they also suck since they should have just gen rushed you. lastly coming from a killer main try not to play like this, imo camping and tunneling is pretty scummy and i can promise that you will get better at the game if you try to play without doing either of these things. Its fine to camp after gates are open or if you come across that one cocky and annoying survivor but camping straight away wont get you that much experience in this game if you do it every game.
-
I often get these kinds of messages as well but on xbox, at least there they can't go past a certain level of insulting me without getting a communication ban.
-
She had always been a killer who needed a high level of skill to play, the nerf made it take even more skill to play her while also making it very punishing for missing any blink. With nothing to balance this out old nurse players and new players dont want to play her since she is both frustrating and hard to learn and play.
-
like people said you need to throw down the pallet early or dodge his shock attack. however as a good doc that has been going against people doing this one way or another i will hit you after you throw down that pallet and I have gotten pretty good at canceling my shock as people try to dodge it. In all honesty your best bet is to just always try to gain distance in the chase by leaving a loop or area you suspect that the doc is trying to shock you at, but only do it if he does not have line of sight on you and if you have another vault or pallet to go to. This is your best bet at lasting longer in the chase since the doc will always be looking for the next area/ opportunity to shock you and get a hit. since the window of the shocks affect of stopping interactions is only 2 seconds he will most likely assume he hit you and go and take the shortest path to you which will be around the pallet or straight to you if you didn't drop it.
IMO with the stance removal he is now a solid A tier killer since he can consistently stop survivors from vaulting and throwing down pallets. Your going to have a hard time against a good doc and prepare to have a lot of your pallet and vault attempts be canceled by his shocks.
-
i tried it out a few times but only had 1 game where it was actually up all game and that was because i got a good totem spawn. the perk didn't help that much in any game and only regressed a gen or two by a good amount in a game. If i wanted a perk to do that I would just use pgtw.
-
you want an actual tech for camping that [BAD WORD] survivor in your latest games?
- hook them
- spam shock therapy
Boom mind blowing, doing this simple trick its possible to deny any safe and always kill the person you want without worrying about the others trying to work together for the safe. It is also a wonderful way to troll any survivor who tries to stay under a hooked survivor after you hook them.

@AChaoticKiller We were testing a Movement extrapolation change in the PTB but that specific change didn't make it live so it shouldn't be the same thing that caused the ''No moonwalk bug''.
However, we have received some report / feedback about the fact that movement doesn't feel the same after the release yesterday. We are now gathering as much information as we can to try and isolate what could cause that change in movement perception.
For you, the change in the movement is perceived from which role? (killer / survivor). Do you feel it happens more facing / playing as a specific character? Is there a map where you feel it happens more? Do you observe it while playing a specific perk?
If we can get answers to these questions, it would help us a lot!
Thanks for looking out.🙂
I have only played killer since the mid chapter patch and it looks like the survivors are able to turn faster than normal which makes it easier for them to juke and 360. At first I thought It was just me since i haven't played for a few days before the mid chapter patch but after playing over 10 games as killer I can say for sure that it is easier for survivors to turn, its almost like they are sliding as they do it and it has made hitting them more difficult.
-
yet here i am getting consistent 4k's without ruin before this patch even came out and i can get 4 minute games when put against a swf who solely focus on doing the gens and who are really good in a chase.
No matter what if the survivors are focused on gens and are good in a chase (lasting at least 45s) you will lose unless they royally screw up.
-
yea you just have to get the timing down to stop them from vaulting, if the shock could stop vaulting even after they started vaulting every time it would be broken.
-
yea i also get 2 or 4 kills a game and hate mail about who much i such with the best killer in the game or you only won because you played nurse. Never have i actually encountered a player who was impressed or complemented me on being at least decent with her on console. The hate players give nurse is mainly because it can be very easy to get bullied playing her if you suck or very easy to win with her if your good with her.
-
its now less about madness being a major hindrance and more about his power being able to put you into it for his addons to work. This itself would be bad but they made his shock therapy better which made stopping pallets and vaults more consistent.
Dispite what people say this is a straight buff for doctor as skilled players can use his shock to reliably stop vaults and pallet drops at loops. The old doc which i use to main and dropped since his shock was not reliable to stop loops is much worse than his reworked version.
as for being annoying... deal with it at least your not going to be facing 3 gen docs every time.
-
I never used ruin unless it was on a killer i was not good at and doc was my first main so yea... I have gotten 7 4k's in a row at rank 4-2 today. Already knowing how to use his shock properly made learning new doc take only a few games and i can stop survivors from using pallets and vaulting consistently.
As for always 4k'ing slugging and finding the other survivor with doc has always been easy thanks to the doctor illusions. I also run whispers which now makes hiding from him impossible.
-
I use to main doc awhile back but dropped him so i am already good at the timing and distance. Even tho i have only played about 7 games with him so far I have to say i think he is a solid A tier killer. His power helps easily find survivors and thanks to the increase to the shock range and removal of his stances he can reliably stop survivors from vaulting and throwing down pallets, making him pretty good in a chase. His addons are still good and in fact got buffed in some ways and while it is harder to play him without addons he can still do good in chases without them.
Devs did a pretty good so far
-
I always say this in tome threads XD, if the devs give us a nurse tome the whole player base will realize how horrible it is to play her. Without already being a very good nurse post rework you can't learn her and enjoy her at the same time. In fact you will rarely enjoy her even if your good with her.
-
hags A tier if you know how to play her. I rarely lose with her in rank 1 and thats also when going against fl squads. As long as your good with her and can change your play style to counter the survivors play styles she is a true monster that can snow ball and stomp team.
edit: hag is not countered by coordinated survivors, it does make her harder to play but unless they are all running a FL and urban you can do just fine with her. As for them running into your traps they waste their time searching for traps and when they activate them they tell you where they are and risk getting into a chase if they activated your trap too late. seriously does no one actually go against or play hag enough to know that only a team that has perks and FL's to counter hag can actually destroy her and the likeliness of coming across one of those teams is beyond rare. I stomp coordinated teams constantly and on console where you can make 4 randoms into a swf by a simple party invite and get low frames from tping to traps or getting blood lust.
-
For me I haven't gotten those kinds of players in a while but what i am getting are players that trash talk me for only getting 2 kills with nurse on console. literally the last 3 games i have played as nurse i have gotten 2 kills each match and then trash talked for only getting 2 kills with the "best killer". Even tho im playing her on [BAD WORD] console.
I have also tried to tell them to play against me in kyf with a killer im good at and of course they never accept because why risk getting humiliated.
-
yea she is worse when default but clown doesn't get much better even when using good addons. At his best he has an insta down and survivors are exhausted or slightly slowed even more. At plagues best she always knows where survivors are, can instantly make them broken which is basically insta down mode and it makes them easier to find. Also if survivors cleanse she is immediately better than clown, her power and addons simply are more versatile when compared to clowns power.
lastly who in their right mind would play either of these killers perk-less or addon-less, thats just asking to get rekt by survivors.
-
I mean i already bought the last one and since buying one complete set of cosmetics is all 1000 aruic cells can really get you id rather just get multiple cosmetics from the premium as i get to tier 70, which i defiantly will get to.

yes, and it better be shards not a small amount of bp

People can say whatever, but if nobody plays her, it proves otherwise. And she is not even behind auric cell paywall
because you need a certain mindset to play hag effectively. Most players can't or dont like to strategically place traps, have good reaction times for tping to traps, knowing if it is better to tp to a trap out of a chase, and/or knowing when to give up a chase. of course their are more things to think about when playing specifically hag so all the choices and trap maintenance makes players want to play the other killers instead which have a much more simpler play style of get close for the hit.
Also barely anyone played nurse before her nerf but she was considered the strongest killer in the game and the reason for her being so unplayed was her difficulty.
-
As long as the hag player is good in both predicting survivors and actually playing her she is a very strong character that can snow ball and end chases quickly. However she is not the best if compared to the best nurse player.
-
Do you think it is a good idea to include a natural mechanic in this game that would slow down gens now that Hex: Ruin won't slow them down anymore? Such a mechanic could be to give survivors a repair debuff at the start of the match or blocking all gens for a few seconds every time a gen is completed.
-
The current snap out is fine, however on the ptb currently its so easy and rewarding to do it you have to wonder just what the devs are thinking. at the very least it should not revert you to tier 1 madness like whoever decided that along with all the other nerfs to snap out of it is an idiot.
-
At least after a few more months killers and survivors will be pushed to high ranks so match making will be faster. I just wish they rewarded us for reaching higher ranks with blood points or even better shards.
