I dont think anybody is saying killing god loops is an issue.
What people are saying is that killers have got a lot of what they wanted the past year. Toolboxes nerfed, god loops fixed, maps shrunk, instaheals nerfed.
Thats all great. It makes killer more enjoyable.
However now maybe something has to be done for survivor. Camp/tunnel:noed strategy needs to go. Its used in the vast majority of games and ruins the experience for many people. Likewise some killer add ons could be nerfed just like instaheals were (looking at you iri head + infantry belt)
I agree however camping and tunneling can't be fixed with this games design, best devs can do is punish the killers point gains but if the killer wants someone dead then they dont care about points. but I also agree with all the nerf's survivors have gotten because a good team using everything they could to win was unbeatable but now killers have a chance to compete with those groups even tho they can still do gens in 5 minutes.
I guess what im saying is that so far every change that survivors have complained about has been justified and currently besides swf groups the next problems in this game is map size/layout, gen speeds, and keys and mori's both of which should be changed at the same time.
-
Wait... are you all telling me that it's not just used to T-Bag?
-
Now I can't repeatedly hit a survivor in the head with leather face, I swear devs are so survivor sided.
-
The killer should be able to down anyone he is chasing and if you need BL2 or BL3 to do that your already throwing the game by taking too long to down someone. Good survivors will capitalize on this and now you have a 5 minute game.
-
If they announce a rework it will be the next mid chapter patch, I'm pretty sure this mid chapter patch and the next update which adds a new killer will focus on map balancing and putting in breakable walls into all the maps.
I also believe these are current candidates for a rework since they don't have the correct addons ( 2 UR addons and so on), we can only hope huntress and billy stay the same.
- Leather face
- Hill Billy
- Huntress
Clown will get buffs dont worry however that might be awhile since as i said they are focusing one other things and killers who need addon/power reworks are probably taking up most of the attention for this.
-
It's fine as it is unless your the type that tunnels, I literally never get hit by it unless I want the user to waste it so it doesn't get in the way later. I also always take the stun if they hop into a locker in front of me because as said earlier it just makes them waste it and more often than not it kills them and their team later when i snowball or start putting to much pressure onto them.
-
How about when she is crouched she moves at ghost faces speed and her camera is slightly raised so she can see, Id also like it if she could crouch and uncrouch faster too, not at GH speed but about still moderately faster than her current speed.
-
So now noed is not worth it since the survivors never open the gates until the last second anyway and if you go open a gate they will know you have noed and play safely.
DS is fine only bad killers complain about it and it's mainly because they tunnel a lot or dont take the stun early game to make them waste it so it doesn't get in the way later. if your wondering i have over 5k kills and only 600ish escapes currently so no im not a survivor main.
Noed is also fine, most of the time it's destroyed anyway once you hit someone with it once or twice and sometimes the survivors actually do totems and you don't even get it to activate. I would actually argue totem spawns need to be addressed since some totems are literally next to a gen or out in open next to a tree or in a field or corn.
-
Generally pgtw is better especially for red ranks however Ruin can be better if your playing certain killers like legion, pig, or a stealth killer with a build that goes after injured survivors however pgtw might be better there. Im sure anything else on why pgtw is better than ruin has already been said by the people above me.

Honestly, moris should be available for everyone when they are on death hook. For those who don't like using them because of how unfair they CAN be, it means you rarely ever see a nifty by your hand kill. It also makes that daily not dependant on having a UR add on available. It's one of those things that SHOULD have been there for fun and visual flair, and not a super strong weapon. The last hook and the last survivor should've always been an aesthetic choice for the killer - kill em on the hook, or kill em on the floor. Moris already take quite a while, so it's not saving much time vs going to the last hook, it means the crawl to a dead zone cheese would never have happened if you killed the rest of their team, and the killer has to give up some points if they want to see the fun kill.
I don't think there'd be anything wrong with making moris a built in visual preference as long as they replaced it with something else decently strong for killer that seems less unfair than -1 hook for all.
I just cant agree with it being fair since the problem is that it would literally cut the amount of times you can save a survivor by a third, as well as any survivor perk that affects the wiggle meter or that involves saving/taking hits for others being carried by a third.
That's just too much of a nerf to too many aspects of survivors. Just because someone is on death hook doesn't mean that they shouldn't have a chance to be saved and if the killer knows that other survivors will try to do a save he will always mori that survivor instead of picking them up, actually he might just always mori since it is just cooler than hooking survivors and because killers don't care about an extra 1k points.
-
When deathslinger first came out I wasn't too good at him and didn't get any antigen perks but i did get noed and devour hope. So I played him and they of course spread out the gens and there was no way I was going to win without a noed clutch so i just chased this one guy for 40ish seconds and the gens pop and right after they also got noed. I get messages from this guy saying how i was bad and how i throw the game to get him... There was no way i was going to win that game with gens spread apart and noed gone as soon as i got it XD

I know Moris are steps ahead from Keys. I can't help but talk about keys when the subject is cheap ways to "win" a game. The faster you down>hook>mori survivor, the fast the match ends, it will cut time from needing to down him and any other survivor again 2 more times.
I would be okay changing the Mori to the need of hooking each survivor once, you will need to waste time to find the one remaining that maybe is hiding, its almost equally to the survivors needing to first do the gens and then finding the hatch. I also don't like the mechanics of adding more timers things to the game. Also Killers need to have the upper advantage since they're against 4 different people with 16 perks.
My only problem with that idea is how exploitable it is for the survivors, the idea i presented doesn't lower the power level of mori's later in the match in fact it stays the same. The only difference is that it isn't usable early game which is how it should be. The more I think about it I think the timer should be at 3 or 4 minutes and I know you said you dont like timers but i think thats the only way it could be without it being exploitable by either side.
-
No that just encourages slugging and makes it even more powerful at end game, DS is fine as it is.
-
@Kees_T said:
5 minutes before beaing able to mori someone is just too much for an ultra rare offering, the point of mori is to end matches quickly. If you're adding an 5 minutes to this ultra rare offering you must offer something good to balance around it. I can aggre it can be changed but in other ways.
Killer needs to down and hook the survivor, so he kinda works for it. It's an cheap way for the KIller to play, but if he depends on it every match he will never improve.
It's just like this: Killer can throw the game away for Survivor by using an Mori, and Survivor can throw the game away for the Killer by using Keys. Each side has its strenghts.
thats not balanced, having broken mechanics on both sides doesn't mean its fair, also mori's are not for ending matches quickly they are for forcing a survivor out of the trial once they have been hooked more than once. That is not throwing the game that is forcing a win/lose and its the same with keys but with keys its last long enough to have hatch spawn than abandon the objectives while getting others to follow you so you can find hatch and instantly win. If we are talking about which one is more unfair its mori's, if its which one is more common its keys.
if people feel the timer is too long as I said it can be changed but I think the least it could be is 3 minutes since forcing a lose is the biggest move the killer can make. As for keys i put a link to an idea I have on that so if you want to discus them go their since this is about mori's not keys.

By removing it as a offering and forcing into be in death hook only situation it does become more fair. Having 2 chases, 3 to 5 hits, and a DS is extremely better than what we currently have.
If the devs gave unique animations for each survivor on the hook without increasing or decreasing time it would also make killers have to choose between death by mori or hook. Sometimes the mori maybe better, but it opens hatch faster. What if that survivor has your favorite hook animation?
While I do agree that it would psuedo nerf all those by giving a reason for the killer to choose between different things it does help. Also of someone fails that bad outside of say being hard camped or tunneled. I wouldn't risk much for them to begin with friend or random.
The problem still remains that it would nerf multiple aspects to survivors such as saves and perks and not by a small degree, also people will always pick doing a mori instead of hooking when survivors are trying to do saves and it makes saving people late game harder from camping killers since the killer can camp and if he downs a survivor on death hook he doesn't have to worry about DS or someone going for the save when he can just wait for the hooked survivor to die then mori the survivor that got downed going for the save.
Adding a unique hooking animation is just not cooler than a mori from any killer especially when that mori denies any chance of that survivor getting saved. It's just objectively better for the killer in every way other than getting a perk to activate like bbq or pgtw.

Yes. Like BBQ, but instead of getting double Bloodpoints, you are able to kill people by your own hand. Mori's can be fun, but a lot of people use them as tools to win games easily.
The only issue with it that i can see is if one survivor just plays stealthy the whole game or a swf sees the offering and tells one member to hide all game, I have had plenty of games where im dominating but there is that one survivor who i dont find until half of their team is dead.
-
Trapper, He is iconic for this game and after learning how to play the game everyone can agree that he is under powered but fair.
-
I use BBQ, pgtw, enduring, and spirit fury. I don't think legion can ever be above C tier unless we can get a perk that works insanely good on him, Other killer powers just outshine his by a large degree.

When you have over 1500 hours with a majority of it as killer it becomes possible :)

I just think Mori's should be removed as a offering added to base kit as a alternative way to kill someone on death hook.
That would nerf the potential to save survivors with flashlights, pallets, and perks meant for saves with body blocking so I don't think the devs would implement that.
-
@YaiPa said:
"reducing the killing power of mori's is also unacceptable since at the core that is what mori's are used for and it's their purpose in this game"
and you nerf it so hard it would basically be impossible to use in games where is needed, i.e. fast genrushing games, or basically useless on death hooks survivors.
I mean if you suck at applying pressure then yea it's a nerf for you, I personally can apply enough pressure with a killer im good with to not have games that last only 5 minutes, that's also why i said the timer could be changed. Anyone with a brain knows that mori's need something to limit them, mainly to stop killers from instantly killing a survivor off a hook at the start of the game. As for killing power it does stay the same since you can still kill all survivors after their first hook, its just going to be later on in the trial to give them a actual chance at surviving.
-
Since i came from friday the 13th i thought that running would reveal me to the killer however that was short lived since i played killer after only a few games as survivor.
-
Hag but only if you can get a grasp on her play style and understand what to prioritize such as should you commit to this chase, drop this chase, focus on resetting your web of traps, protect this side of the map because of gen placement, ect. She can stomp any uncoordinated team with ease and against swf if your pretty good with her and have a proper build you can be on equal grounds with them or even just win if they try to commit to saves.
The most competitive build i use for hag is monitor & abuse, nurses calling, make your choice, and pgtw. this build makes sneaking up on survivors easier and actually gets you a lot of downs from people just trying to heal. make your choice gets you that instant down every now and then but this perk can be replaced with save the best for last for quicker use of your traps if they get triggered rapidly. pgtw is often needed against good teams since they will try to focus on gens that your protecting however you should be able to down them quick enough in your set up to effectively use pgtw to stop a gen they are trying to complete.

No i do not agree, he is not balanced for playing him that's for sure. How do you explain having to set everything up with your portals but now you have the gens+portals+ mayb hex's to protect against 4 people? They can undo the portals at super speed unless you have the slightly slowing addons, even then it's fast. Add-ons again are also a big factor because usually unless you wanna have even harder time you should bring the standard to keep pressure and have a somewhat easier time. Also where do you see anyone playing him? as for me i haven't
dude you don't set up his portals first, you do it as you patrol gens or if you pass a spot you want one and it only takes and extra second or two to do so. He is not like hag or trapper where you have to set up before going after people you just do it as you do what you would normally do and if survivors cleanse them thats fine since it takes them 16 seconds when it only took you 1 second to set up and as they do that you can sneak up on them and get a hit. Lastly if you are good at his shred you can get a lot of cheeky hit's that other killers can't.
-
buff legion, clown, deathslinger, and leatherface than we will take about demogorgon.
-
that's why i got all the perks on 1 survivor first and have kept up with new perks releasing so i can do any build i want as a survivor. However for my killers i just get them to level 50 and if i got a decent build by then i play with it otherwise i just immediately prestige them. Once i have a P3 killer i just keep leveling them until i get the perks i want.
I don't have a problem with it being a grind as long as the perks i get are worth using and i don't have to feel like resetting a character because i didn't get anything useful, If you could always get the perfect build on your characters that would be pretty boring.
-
it would be cool if he had a addon that would let him shoot through walls
-
so far on console in rank 1 I have played about 8 matches with him and only didn't 3k-4k in one of them (indoor map), however I feel like that's mainly because I was playing smart and mind gaming survivors for constant hits without his power. That doesn't mean he is bad tho, I got a lot of hits with the redeemer and more consistently then I do with huntress so if you suck with her then death bringer might be the killer for you.
I will say that he is absolutely AWFUL on any indoor map, with all the walls and corners that survivors can use to break line of sight and the chain it makes you feel like your playing nurse in terms of being stressed that you cant use your power effectively.
-
would be a cool buff imo, not too strong just some extra decent info for possible paths you could take.
-
I never used ruin in killers i was good at so no im still a rank 1 and get games in seconds.

So it's not 6 seconds of a cooldown. Its 3 seconds of fatigue, which you got before the changes ANYWAY, and then 2 or 3 of a cooldown.
I play nurse as well as the rest. Which is why I know it's not a 6bsecond cooldown. You're counting 3 seconds that existed before the cooldown was even added.
Also the immense amount of ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ tells me you dont have an actual response.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1141171#Comment_1141171
I can tell you assume what people do and dont play.
I do play nurse, as well as everyone else. And it's not a 6 second cooldown. It's a 3 or 3.5 stun, which she ALWAYS GOT, and a 2 or 3 second cooldown in which you're already gaining your first blink back ANYWAY.
Also, if you have survivors knowing where you're going to teleport, you're doing it wrong. I know because while I'm not a GOOD nurse, I do understand how she works, and have SEEN AND LOST to good nurses.
Your "handy dandy image" is there and helpful for .5 seconds. Nice side argument though.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1141173#Comment_1141173
What an impressive addition to the conversation. Oh wait. It's not. It's you two being an echo chamber because you want to say that 3 seconds of fatigue (which isnt new) + 3 seconds of cooldown (which you have two charges) = 6 second cooldown on every blink.
I cant explain logic to people who just want to argue for the sake of it.
Enjoy your broken logic sweeties. I can see why this community is so full of misinformation now.
even if what you say is true theres still the fact that this killer is way to difficult to play and is too punishing for any mistakes made from missing a blink, because of this NO ONE other than super dedicated players to learning nurse and people who already had a good grasp on her will actually play her and try to learn her. Hell in reality she is really only playable on PC and even on PC new players will not try to learn her after their first 2 or 3 games.
Having a good and hard killer is one thing but having a killer who is so difficult to learn that barely anyone will put the time into her and stick with her, Is way too punishing for mistakes, and is only actually playable on one system out of four is another.
-
it's no different than when leather face camps with his chainsaw
-
swf be like this with their friends https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ
edit: lol wrong thread
-
idk how it is on PC but in high rank on Xbox it literally takes me at least 5 minutes to find a game if im lucky and around 10-15 minutes normally. Yes i know that it's because their isn't enough killers playing around that rank compared to the amount of survivors trying to find games.
-
that would literally change nothing XD you would just have to start charging it when they get near you and even if you start unhooking the survivor before he notices there is still enough time for him to fully charge the saw and down you both.
-
flashlights, being able to blind the killer in under half a second was the most BS thing imo. I would say the sabo nerf that made it so hooks respawn but i was not playing this game at that time.
-
You think he's fast? try wraith with play with your food and a purple and green windstorm addons.
-
hopefully, NEVER AGAIN.
-
pretty much what i expected and good job collecting all these stats, btw whoever doesn't up vote you and read all of the stats is pretty black hearted because all those games and dedication to collecting stats must have been very annoying.
-
if their is someone who i know has done a lot in my game without being generally toxic i will give them the hatch, but if you expect me to give you the hatch when i only saw you twice and know you didn't do anything significant don't get made when i hook you next to the hatch and close it in your face.
-
Well i understand how you feel if i can understand you at all since im one of those killers that give survivors chances even if there's 1 gen left depending on if i think i can still win which i do most of the time. When playing as a survivor and you face one of those killers that do every thing they can to win it's extremely annoying especially if your a solo as i usually am. However i can understand why they do it because i was like that before i actually got good and could consistently 4k without tryharding, it's because against a real competitive sweaty swf group with too many hours as only survivor you have to use tactics that are looked down upon and hated because most of the time that's the only way to win or stand a chance against them. I think most killers that are toxic and not giving breathing room as you say is it because they think that's what they will face constantly so might as well get used to playing like they are facing those groups and they end up staying that way because playing like that is a good way to 4k. Truth is even in high rank you only face good to semi good survivors most of the time and if your a good killer you can usually apply enough pressure to give them a few chances to recover and still 4k and when you do the game is actually more fun and rewarding when you win. You do need to learn when to give chances when you can because it can backfire if you underestimated them and gave them too much breathing room.
-
nurse's power nerf was very unjust since they did nothing to help reduce the skill required to play her but actually increased it greatly.
pig literally has the most nonsense nerfs when she isn't that good of a killer, i can't think of a good change for her that made her better than when she was released. imo she has had the worst of it even more than legion because lets be honest legion was unfair on release and as they currently are or ever were they can't be balanced and good without a serious overhaul to their power. Making a new game mode with them as 4 killers without powers and a ton of survivors would be a better idea at this point then having them as a stand alone killer.
-
im only on tier 40 and will defiantly grind until i get that sweet blue hag skin but i have dreaded doing any survivor challenges for a while and i think that after this tome i will burn out and not play for awhile
Hey dev's you know how you could reduce the grind? Make it so we get fragments for doing daily challenges PLEASE.
-
Wraith and while controversial hag
wraith can get a lot of free hits and his power allows you to catch up with survivors. some perks and addons can also make catching up to survivors so easy that they dont make it to the next pallet.
hag is considered good but not top tier and that's were i think people are wrong. If you have a good mindset while playing her and are good at placing traps in places survivors will go she is incredibly deadly even against swf groups. The amount of times i lost with hag after her rework is nothing compared to the amount of games i have won as her which is easily over 100 and again this is after her rework, i was still pretty good with her despite how slow she was before it.
-
Even tho i am heavily against being toxic as both killer and survivor, if i come across a toxic team as a survivor i will be toxic to them and the killer. By this i mean i will body block, not go for saves or heals, reveal positions and go to the others if im being chased, and not help with gens in any way.
Yes I get a TON of salt from the toxic survivors who tried bullying the killer (I use bond and kindred a lot so i kinda know when a group does this) but if your going to play like that than as someone who HATES groups like yours i will try to get you all killed.

Do you agree that the number of portals is quite limited, and that not being able to teleport for a long time gives its portals a taste of "useless" ..?
As well as the fact of not being able to place our portals unlimited, obligation to wait until they are destroyed ... And finally, very easy to destroy for a team .. your speed will be useless
๐ฏ
For the mechanic, ok you right it is complicated
They are not useless, they provide you with information if placed near a gen or gate and a hit or grab if you place them a slight distance away from a gen where they wont be spotted. His long cool down is because their isn't a need to spam his portal transportation however i do agree that the cool down timer could be reduced. His portals also provide a distraction for survivors so they can waste some time getting rid of your portal instead of doing a gen. They also give the survivors a status affect that makes sneaking up to easier.
In regards to his limited portal placement i do wish that he could replace them instead of relying on survivors to destroy them but other than that and the cool down he is fine as he is.
-
no... he would just be a ranged billy at that point. Im all for buffing him but being able to go from injured to down with a single shoot is just too strong no matter how you look at it. Even if it was easy to break the chain the fact that if he gets close to you and lands his shoot or lands a shoot in the open would mean getting downed regardless of what you do.
I would like his UR addon that instant downs people to be changed to this however because that addon kinda sucks for its rarity.
-
I mean if you change the portals to that he loses his ability to traverse the map quickly which is what they are used for. Also any idea that separates the killer and survivors like how old freddy was is a bad idea because it's not stealth that makes killers good. If the killer can't hit a survivor despite being right next to them the killer is weak, If he can and the survivor had no idea when he was near them thats mediocre and falls into the stealth killer range and demo does not fit that role. What makes a killer good is how fast they can traverse the map and how fast they can down a survivor and demo fits in the above average for both of these.
-
Yea idc what people say huntress is just better since her hatchets grantee an injure/down and using a hatchet just barely slows her. Deathslinger on the other hand might be faster at actually shooting in all aspects but his shoots don't always injure/down and you need to use a lot more time than huntress to actually hit them after you shoot them. Another BIG difference is their ability to snow ball. huntress is just better at this period.

Doctor and Spirit: You know that feeling you get when you think "Okay I can do one more loop." No. Drop the pallet. Right then.
At the killer shack? Spirit phasing? Drop that pallet.
You can treat the doctor like a normal M1 killer looping wise, you just have to play it safe and drop the pallet a little sooner than you normally would (assuming you know how to run tiles).
You used to get body blocked by a phasing spirit, but now you don't have to worry about that. Run to a loop, then immediately avoid it and run to another position. Keep her guessing.
No matter what you do, you'll probably go down eventually just due to the nature of the game, but if you can just keep doing that, the other survivors will have time to crouch in the corner and self care. Er, I mean, do generators.
A lot of it comes from game sense. As a killer you recognize plays that you saw, but the more you play survivors you'll see a lot more that you didn't see before. Maybe put on Bond so you can watch your teammates stare directly at a box for minutes at a time. Er, I mean, juke the killer.
Hope that helps.
with the doc changes depending on how close he is to you and how far you are from the pallet you may need to try to dodge his shock or use dead hard early. In his current state it's pretty hard to know what to do against him other than trying to drop the pallet early which many good docs including myself will just shock you before or after you use the pallet and then go in for a hit. Doc right now is either very overrated or underrated and i think you fall into the second one, he is just really consistent at stopping interactions now which diffidently does not make him a normal m1 killer and you need to put in some thoughts and take risks to loop him which can still result in you getting downed if the doc is good with his shocks.
