  • For real? Unless its a Christmas Dwight, I will play just like normal.

  • Haha no, I will run Franklin's on my Nurse until my last breath. Keep on the salt. Don't bring overpowered stuff.

  • Nurse

    Spirit Fury

    Enduring

    Bamboozle

    Brutal Strength

  • Because its a party game, not a competive horror game.

  • If it makes you feel any better, the optimisation is pretty ######### on PC too. Most people won't notice it, because they have strong PCs, though.

  • East Coast of what? China? Australia? Brazil? And why is your coast special?

  • If it makes you feel any better, survivfors disconnecting cause the killer to lose pips too. No hits, no hooks, no rehooks. Everyone gets massively punished for a disconnect.

  • I can ignore t-bagging, I can ignore flashlight clicking, I can ignore blinds (if sounds work), but I can't ignore the loud noise notification blasting into my ear. Sure, I could turn off my sound, but then I am a deaf killer, you know.

There really should be a way to prevent that bullshit. Like turning down the loud noise notifications, or a cooldown on them, or being able to mute them, or some something else. Its just a horrible game design in a game with no sound settings, and being so reliable on sound.

  • Because its the only way to make the game run at playable FPS for people with average computers. Even after meddling with the Dbd configs, it still runs worse than Fallout 4, the newest Tomb Raider, GTA5, and similar ressource demanding games.

I am sorry if I need to take things into my own hands to mitigrate the Developers incomptence.

If the remove the ability to edit the configs, I am gone for sure. I am not playing a Powerpoint presentation.

  • We have Christmas?

I didn't notice. People still play full tryhard in the game. Felt like every other day to me.

But yeah let's say we work hard on it but instead we launch a dlc every 3 months of 7€ with characters that only look nice if you waste 10€ more for a outfit

DLC is actually the wrong word for it. Even if you don't own the "DLC", you still have it installed on your drive. You merely pay for the license to use it.

The game runs at 60 FPS on console (unstable though) just saying. Also the one thing that everyone seems to forget is that BHVR is just an indie studio with a big hit on their hands. Do you really think they can pump ######### out at the scale of a triple A studio? The main issue with BHVR is that they are way too ambitious just leads to them promising things and not being able to deliver because they are not big enough to support the game in the level they want too.

They pump put paid cosmetics at an insane speed. Why can they not do the same with bug fixes?

  • There is also a no-blink bug right now. At random times, as Nurse your blink ability can be taken away by the game. Yes, survivors can quite litterally hold the game hostage, as you are physically unable to do anything about it.

Sounds being all over the place. Survivors gaining Iron Will midchase. Survivors making no footsteps or loud breathing when running/sprinting. Sound occlusion system STILL blocking too much sound from certain angles. You can observe that yourself as survivor, when repairing a generator on a corner of a wall, and moving your camera so the wall blocks your view from it. Its sound gets muffled to oblivion.

Infinite loading screen still not fixed, after over 3 and a half years it is getting tiresome.

"Autoaim", or however you choose to call it, robbing killers off hits by snapping the camera on nearby objects, or just some air sometimes.

The list goes, and actually grows with every update. Bugs get introduced faster than they get fixed. Game is buggier than it was back in 2017.

  • I would rather get the bugs that further harden the life of Nurses fixed.

Sound issues, which make tracking extremely hard. This hits Nurse particularly hard, because she relies on tracking.

Several dedicated server issues where your blink ability can be taken away, or being cut short.

And lastly map design. The new Yamaoka map is full of dead ends, places where she physically cant blink through. This transferred to the old Yamaoka map as well, on the pavillion, and rare instances of jungle gyms. Other maps like Lery's Memorial Institute have oversized hitboxes for the Nurse. Where you need to purposely overblink alot to get past just tiny objects like chairs and beds.

While I personally I disagree with the cooldown added to her blink, I don't think they are gonna change it. Judging by their silence regarding any criticm, they seem more than happy what they did to Sally. So wasted breath to talk about it. I just want the bugs to be fixed.

  • I don't think this is dedicated servers causing that. Even on P2P, I sometimes had survivors, who spawned near me, move while I was still in the intro scene.

  • Playing pretty much Nurse only right now, because others killers offer no fun at all for me. However dedicated servers cucking my blinks, as well as the sound issues granting free Iron Will to survivors, as well as no footsteps make juking ridiculously easy for them right now.

Edit: Just got a bug, where game took away my blink ability midway through match. Yeah, I am turning into a survivor main for the time being.

  • There are no true infinites in the game anymore.

However there are maps with ridiculiously strong loops with no counterplay for the killer whatsoever. Ironworks of misery has a 100% spawn for it. Wretched Shop too.

Maps like Groaning Storehouse, Rancid Abotoir, Mother Dwelling can spawn one with a 50% chance. There are more which I can't remmeber ontop of my head.

But how do you know that for sure? A bug that's hidden within years of code is harder to find than making cosmetics for the store. One is hidden under code, the other has no restrictions for production.

At least to me it is, so that's probably why it takes a bit longer to fix these issues.

I don't know it for sure. I am just saying that the bug fixing team is clearly severaly underbudgeted right now. So Behaviour should hire more programmers to get stuff done.

They don't work around the clock you know, everyone has a holiday break too you know...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/941531#Comment_941531

I hope they fix it as well, for your sake. Personally, it doesn't bother me since I already play with Red Ranks on the daily... but for you, I can see why it's an issue.

With the Rank Rework coming, i'm sure the match-making will also be changed to reflect the new ranking system.

I am aware of that. No one works around the clock. I am just saying that right now the cosmetics team appears to get the bigger cake of the budget, than the bug fixing team does. This is clearly visible by the speed of how fast they get stuff done.

So right now, Behaviour prioritises cosmetics over bugfixing.

  • Nah mate, pumping out more overpriced cosmetics is more important.

Edit: Yes, I am aware that cosmetics and bugfixes are handled by different people. I am just saying that the cosmetics team seems to be seriously overstaffed, while the bugfixing team is severely understaffed. I personally would prefer it the other way.

  • I personally too had way better game experience with peer to peer (killer hosting). As survivor hits were consistent, and if not I could atleast adjust because I knew the actual latency between us. As killer I didn't have a delay on everything. My Nurse gameplay surffers heavily, because dedicated server cuck my blinks big time.

  • Bring Selfcare, Inner Strength, Medkit if you don't wanna rely on others healing you.

  • Its because the developers like to put bandaid fixes, instead of tackling problems head on.

Nurse was initially a bandaid to looping.

Bloodlust was a bandaid to semi-infinites.

Pallet vacuum was a bandaid to survivors quite litterally getting hit through pallets (if I recall correctly).

Ruin is a bandaid to generator speed,

    Enduring bandaid to Decisive Strike.

    Borrowed Time bandaid to camping.

The list really goes on, and on, and we kind of have to accept that this is how the developers try to fix their game. If you or me agree or disagree with it doesn't matter, Behaviour has not changed in the last 3 and a half years, and is unlikely to do so in the future.

But who cares? All that matter is more overpriced cosmetics, am I right?

  • The devs said they want to keep the vague descriptions for new players. So they should make it a toggleable option. So veterans who want the numbers can have them, while new players can have the descriptions. I see no problem with it, other than implementating such a system will probably break sound, matchmaking, perks, offerings, maps, and add a few more infinite loading screen bugs in the process.

So lets not expect too much here.

  • The problem is the killer camera not being on their actual eyelevel. The developers want killers to be cornblind.

You can only stun her if the blink destination is in the pallet hit box

Partly true. If she moves through the pallet as you throw it down, her blink gets stopped dead in the tracks. This worked in P2P, but was ridiculiously hard to time. But with dedicated servers its extremely easy now. Nurse no longer ignores pallets.

Intersting thank you, so you flick the camera up or down as killer? Seems you would Look down correct?

Just break a pallet as killer to get a feeling of the camera movement. Also keep in mind that you get sucked into position when you break it, so you will need to mimick the janky movement to trick aware survivors. However good survivors will wait for the animation to actually start before they move. You physically can't trick those.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/114892/let-s-talk-about-what-the-devs-haven-t-done-in-2019

Bud, half of your points are completely subjective

Freddy is cool now, Nurse is still cool, Plague is fun to play as (more when survivors cleanse but i dont mind her just vomiting around), Demogorgon is fun too and a pretty underrated killer, and Oni, well clearly they ######### up at some point but they will definitely change that again [i hope], Yui is a cool survivor too, the challenges and the rift is a good idea, just clunky because it's the first one, hopefully the next one will be more fun, and never had any bloodlust dropframe so just change your computer

obviously there would be more glitches, is there any online game with updates that have none ? most of them even are fun (but the gamebreaking ones are a shame hopefully a big part of them get corrected even if they shouldnt even have existed in the first place) and even if i think the events should be better, well, between that and new content, i would choose the new content too

Tho I agree not having chapter releases every 3 months would be healthier for the game to improve the matchmaking essentially, and the balance, just like mid-chapters do right now (not the matchmaking part tho)

Its not obvious that they are more glitches. Most games nowadays that get updated regularly, are the buggiest in their early stages, and get more and more polished on a technical sense. FPS improve, memory usage goes down (data compression), bugs get sorted out.

With Dbd that's not the case. In 2016 it was certainly buggier than it is today, but compared to 2017 or 2018, there is litterally no improvement made.

  • I find it interesting that no one mentioned the Decisive Strike "nerf" in March of this year. Apparently it wasn't actually nerf to begin with?

  • Survivors wanted dedicated servers, without considering the negative consequences. They didn't even think about how they WILL increase the latency between killer and survivor, and basically make every game like its P2P with a high ping killer lobby.

Obviously you could make hits serverside to fix this, but this would basically force killers to lead their hits. That would make high precision killers like Nurse or Huntress absolutely quite litterally unplayable, and make 360ing a foolproof way to evade hits, because the killer has no time to even react to it.

So yeah, thats working as intended and Behaviour can't do anything about it, unless they start punishing killer for having no server location near them.

  • @Almo said:

Killer powers, perks and addons aren't designed to consider what happens if they are run by two characters. 2 Killers is going to be a mess any way you slice it.

I would agree with you here, if past instances of the 2 killer bug didn't show that most do work quite well without any issues. The only issue I am aware of is Pig's head traps instantly exploding on set up. Which really isn't that much to fix.

  • For public matches this would be impossible to balance. But the developers should make it possible for custom match. There is no reason to restrict a "custom" match to just the original gamemode.

  • I don't get why people report AFK killers, or why it is a reportable offence to begin with. Sometimes you go away while queuing, because you expect it to be long (more prevalent on low ranks). Sometimes you need to go during the match, and don't want to disconnect, because developers then assume you are a filthy ragequitter. Killers don't have a concede action, like survivors, who can kill themselves on the hook, so AFKing is the only way.

Unless its a Wraith, you can farm points with them, and then just move on to the next match. No point to take it so damn serious.

In fact Peanits has stated they currently have NO plans to nerf Hillbilly.

They also said they would just slightly tweak Nurse basekit.

I don't think the developers are fully aware what changes are nerfs or buffs, or how much of a chnage they are for the players.

    Lol.

    • Selects “Play as Killer”.
    • Stress levels significantly rise.

Not gonna lie, my heartrate automatically increases the moment I search for a match as killer. When searching as survivor, I am the calmest person in existence.

no its anti-tunnel, it makes you want to go after the other survivors, maybe it should only be activated if your in a certain radius of the killer when saved? but this is for a different discussion.

No, its not anti-tunnel. It can be used as anti-tunnel, but you could have done that with old DS as well, albeit a tad less effective. Its anti-momentun in the sense that it gives 60 seconds complete unvulnerability, no matter what you do, you get away with it for free. If the killer hooks 1 or 2 or even 3 people in the 60 seconds, or if the person with DS instantly hops on a generator, or unhooks someone right infront of the face of the killer doesn't matter, because DS gives the survivor a free escape and 1500 bloodpoints slapped ontop of it.

  • DS is not anti-tunnel, its anti-momentum like it always has been.

  • My god, all these survivors saying BBQ is strong and/or annoying, because you need to get out of your way to avoid the aura reading.

Do you guys not realise how much killers need to get out of their way to avoid survivor perks?

Never hit the person off the hook. BT kicks in.

Never pick up a person for 60 seconds. DS makes them invincible, even if you don't tunnel.

Never swing at an injured unless they are exhausted. DH kicks in.

And so on, and so on. The game is about adapting. If something is slightly inconvenient, maybe instead of repeately slamming your head against a wall, try to use your brain to work around it.

  • The real reason why there are no sound settings, is because the developers hate any form of customisation that doesn't cost money. We don't even have graphic settings like V-sync, AA, texture, shadow, lighting, motion blur, and so on. Even though those things are accessable via the config files of the game engine, or your own graphic card settings.

  • Really the only reason why old Nurse had an high average killrate, was because of her busted add-ons. Range add-ons with no downside, and additional blinks. Without those, you needed to be actually good to get consistently good results. All while she was still fun, because of how much freedom she had with her power. Kinda like how people love Hillbilly with how he can use his chainsaw at all times on demand with no restriction. Its fun for the user, and offers counterplay from the survivors.

The add-on changes were needed, and justified, as they made even bad Nurses get easy kills. However the cooldown .. slapped on another cooldown just makes her unfun unless you are already ridiculously good with her.

  • Well, it is kind of unfun to have to watch survivors run away from you, and you can't do anything about it, because of the cooldown. Other killers with cooldown are atleast still faster than survivors, thats not the case for Nurse.

  • Lobby dodging is not really a problem with dedicated servers. And queuetimes are a result of too few people playing killer. Go figure why.

  • image.png

Its not really an original combo, but its still my favourite cosmetic. Barely anyone nowadays seems to run it, so I can feel kind of unique too.

    What's the other then? stealth?

that old unviable thing which devs keep nerfing every patch adding anti-stealth builds and making maps more brighter?

Developers intensify the sound occlusion, made the chasemusic louder, made footsteps quieter. And with the recent sound "bugs" (which coincidently keep coming back) you get basekit Iron Will ontop of that. Stealth got buffed to a ridiculous level.

  • @laurelstroodle said:

The thing is that's how it's supossed to be.

A extremely high reward with a extremely punishment cause remember, she can go trough the map in seconds and ignore pallets/windows...

Pallets and windows are not the only defences survivors have.

  • The only people who have fun with current Nurse right now, are people who already were good with her pre-rework. Mistakes get punished to a level, where she is simply not fun for a new player.

  • Nurse got trippled nerfed. Her cooldown, dedicated servers, and the sound issues right now make countering Nurse ridiculously easy.

  • Sound quality gets worse and worse since 2016. Personally I kinda just accepted that devs don't care, or its intentional. Wasted breath really at this point.

  • Over the course of the match, you have a multitude of second chance perks to carry you through all 5 generators. If you fail to repair, and then fail to find the hatch, or fail to find a key, well then you truly messed up.

1 … 23 24 25 26 27 … 45
