So I’ve been getting better with mouse and keyboard to the point where I can somewhat hold a good chase in solo que. I’ve experimented the past couple days on what could get a killer to commit to you (because they never do). Object of Obsession doesn’t work, spam vaulting doesn’t work, clicking doesn’t work, waving at the killer doesn’t work, but I finally found out how, just play a default survivor and they’ll think your a baby at the game and then they’ll chase you. I’ve been playing baby meg and the killer almost always tunnels me and seems to get mad of the fact that they’re getting ran by a baby meg. But yeah there’s a little tip for those that wanna buy your team some time. My team never seems to hold chase longer than 30 seconds. But yeah good luck and see y’all in the fog!

Just do gens, the killer can't ignore you when you are constantly doing the objective.

Just asking, I don't have much troubles playing against them. Doctor is fun to play as. Legion meh it's just there I guess.

I don't like legion because he basically just ignores everything and hits you when in FF. Mindgamed him well on a jungle? Doesn't matter cause he's gonna injure you anyways.

Doctor ia ok, really depends on how good the player is.

Are any other killers struggling to put survivors on hooks? Like the action not happening even though the prompt is there?

Every game I've played since the update, theres been at least one survivor wiggle out because it straight up wont let me hook them. One game I couldnt hook a single person despite numerous downs.

This also happens with lockers as well, which is quite the pain when I'm sitting at locker for 5+ seconds just yo get hatchets.

  • @Venzhas said:

I was meant to say that "boohoo killers always whinning" but damn with crossplay on and facing mostly PC survivors bruh the toxicity is here, like this masked meg thar gonna tbag at every pallet, i understand why youre forced to camp and tunnel wow

I don't know about them being more toxic, but I swear survivors on others platforms are way more optimal. I feel like I lose games for no reason even when I play good.

  • I started noticing after cross-play was added, so I assume its probably the culprit.

^ LOL. Yes because clown really needs a nerf. Said no one. EVER. Before now.

I mean I've seen people on the forums complaining about unrelenting, so not too far fetched to think they aren't lying.

Ok someone said using an argument that "against a good nurse" is invalid like saying oh well you looped a nurse for 120 seconds? Against a good nurse you would die in 30. Apparently that is invalid because people dont agree on what a good nurse is, therefore the good nurse is also a fake concept, which seems to be what this guy implied. A good nurse hits their blinks more often then not. A good nurse will not try and mind game without knowledge of the survivor previously and will work to have line of sight. A good nurse will rarely swing after blink if it is a bad blink. A good nurse ends chases quickly and knows how to use their blinks. Do you guys agree or do you think a good nurse doesnt fit this bill? Also if I missed anything feel free to add.

I think the difference between an ok killer and a good killer is consistency. Nurse isn't an exception as she needs to be very precise with her blinks. So yes if the killer is ran around for an 2 minutes, than either nurse isn't ready for the ranks she's in or the survivor is at a lower rank than they should be.

    1. You think the game is more broken than your average bethesda game
    2. you keep crying how killers need to be nerfed to the point gameplay against each is identical to the others
    3. you cry bloody murder whenever there's a slight change to the mechanics/something new is tested out, in general are violently averse against something new
    4. yet demand the game is so massively change to suit your playstyle.

why the hell have you not moved on to different games if there's nothing you objectively like about dbd?

I reason I'm still here is because the game is still fun under all issues. Just because I criticize a game doesn't mean I don't enjoy it, I just don't enjoy certain aspects of it.

  • @Ekkles said:

I've played this game for quite awhile now and I play both survivor and killer, but I mostly play killer more competitive and better rewards. I've achieved rank 1 on killer and I'm still trying to get up there for survivor so far my best being rank 2. Thing is when I play killer I could pick ghost face or legion which are other killers I enjoy playing, but the majority of my hours are spent on Spirit so It's safe to say she's my main.

I've gone from rank 20 to rank 1 over 3 times in one season, and this season I've done it twice again already, all with the majority of my games being Spirit, I personally think shes busted in the same way nurse is, high skill cap but very very rewarding, defiantly deserving of her top tier place in the killer meta, however its her add ons that I think are a little broken.

Every killers add ons have some that benefit very well and some that are sort of gimmicks that can work well if used right, but every single spirit add on is very strong even the brown ones, Mother Daughter Ring + Yakaoka's Amulet turn you from a good chase killer, to a killer that can apply the same map pressure a Billy can or a Freddy with all the benefits of your chase power. Let's say that's not your thing and you want to end chases fast, well you can run Wakizashi Saya + Katana Tsuba and when you exit phase you zoom lighting speed and can end loops instantly and catch up to someone who uses dead hard completely ignoring it, and that's just two options for your playstyle.

From the survivor side spirit can be tricky but with how much I've personally played her it can be easy mind-gaming her right back, she can trigger way too many 50-50s way too quickly which can mess up my brain a lot to be honest. So opinions, do you think the spirit needs a nerf? or do you think if you're a good survivor or someone experienced with playing her is she balanced just fine?

Also before I say anything, I'm a survivor main, I play like 70% survivor, but I do play a decent amount of killer at red ranks. I also like to point out that used to be a spirit main, but I have since drifted away from playing her, simply because how annoying she can be when I play survivor.

I do think spirit needs a nerf, just a small one if any. I don't know what they should change about spirit besides maybe making her power recovery longer.

Also she does have counter-play, just a lot of it can be guessing, which is why she upsets a lot of people. I think I'm decent at playing against a spirit but there is very little you can do against a good spirit, especially if you are injured.

Her add-ons, like you said, are quite strong. I think spirit's add-ons are what add-ons should be on all killers, not necessarily the strength, but in how versatile they are yet they all manage to be good.

All in all I think spirit is quite powerful, but still requires skill. Most spirits I have gone against aren't even good at her.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

This seems more like an issue of being grey ranked and not an issue of Cross-play. The higher you get again the faster you find matches until you hit reds which are actually very quick

I still get long que times during the night as survivor, even though I'm in red ranks.

  • Generally just for killers I don't play, or some of the annoying ones on killer, like catch 3 survivors in a bear trap or hit 5 survivors with a fully charged shred.

Anyone else having the problem when you make a comment and directly edit it, so it gets hidden and needs approval by the system ? I am still waiting for another of my messages to show up. It happens regularly for me, pretty annoying.

Do you edit your comments twice? Because usually that triggers it for me.

  • @Blueberry said:

Well the overheat is so forgiving that you never actually overheat..so why even have the mechanic exist in the first place? I think that's the issue.

I assume its so people can't facecamp with the chainsaw.

A character like a werewolf would be excellent in Dbd. But as a Legion skin, please no.

Maybe as a demo skin instead?

I love the aesthetic of my prestige 3 characters, all bloody and bad ass.

But I was wondering, do people choose not to use the P3 skins to trick the killer into thinking they're not as experienced?

I have a lot of my survivors P3, but I don't usually use their prestiged skins mostly because I don't like them. I do use them gor though, as it just looks ridiculous how much blood is on them.

  • @Carpemortum said:

Uhhh, I can promise they didnt remove the ability to crouch/sneak.

    Is your controller breaking?

    If not you're bugged somehow.

They mean when you point and crouch, not just crouching.

  • Well I mean for one it would really hurt huntress and deathslinger. Second it would be a nightmare for survivors as a simple moonwalk can get a hit on average survivors while you can just reverse moonwalk against the good survivors.

  • @BabyCameron10 said:

It think it’s been on there for a while now and tbh it’s terrible

Umm no. If you can't survive against yout average red ranks killer than that's on the survivor.

Also I don't know why you even bring this up as killers literally have no defense against looping besides moonwalking.

    See how silly that sounds?

No because your statement is ridiculous. Your average survivor is not as good as your average killer, otherwise survivors would win the far majority of matches.

Killers have more than just moonwalking to counter most loops, yet survivors literally have nothing else besides ds and bt to help against a killer that just hits you as soon as your teammate unhooks.

  • @Roobnus said:

I don't think Killers should depip if they can't get a kill because of gen rushing and looping.

Umm no. If you can't a kill against your average solo que red ranks than thats on the killer.

Also I don't why you even bring this up as survivors literally have no defense against facecamping besides ds. If your teammates aren't using bt than you pretty much doomed.

    Wait...

A killers only 2 options in the beginning of the match is to either chase or patrol.

Yeah, and if you do either one poorly you pay for it, this isn't rocket science.

I don't even think a Nurse or Spirit could beat those toolboxes with BNPs. Three Prove Thyself and FOUR Streetwise on a Coldwind. Those gens never stood a chance

Well for one, toolboxes aren't even good anymore, most don't even last a 1/3 of the gen. Second, Prove thyself isn't even the good either, it only removes like a couple seconds off a gen.

Also if you lost 3 gens in the first minute thats simply your fault, you either took an early chase that you shouldn't of or patrolled poorly.

Please no. Averaging the rank of SWF back in the day was so bad.

For killers, after they changed the matchmaking to matchmake with the highest rank it killed any chance of me playing with my friends that were rank 10+.

  • Basically what people have said above, if you are using a strong killer like hillbilly or nurse, not having to kick gens and going straight to chase, while still getting pretty good gen regression is really powerful. If they are able to change older maps to have better totem spawns than I would see ruin being used a lot more.

  • There is a difference between a linked skin and a legendary skin. All of cheryl's skins are linked but she only has one legendary.

  • Besides maybe the first couple of times I played midwich, I've had positive experiences playing the map. I actually think its quite survivor sided if you know how to use the pallets.

  • Honestly just brute force it. Just keep doing it until you get it. That's how I got it at least.

Thry should just change the achievement to give it to you if you kill all survivors while using those two addons. That way you can still get it if they get in a locker or if they dc.

Actually completely and utterly wrong. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_vLlMdu1Sc

Watch this, educate yourself, and come back

I agree with MiniPisa, in it that unbreakable doesn't need to be nerfed. In the video scott says that he thinks unbreakable isn't broken and doesn't need a nerf, but just that he really dislikes the perk because it prevents slugging.

Also if one person has ds, and there are no other obsession perks, it doesn't mean the person with ds will always get obsession. They only get an increased chance of being the obsession.

  • Med-kits, I love to use pharmacy, which imo is a super underrated perk.

  • She does take some practice, but honestly she really isn't that hard to play. I used her last summer to get to red ranks as killer, it was a long process but wasn't really hard. I don't play her now though.

  • Honestly I just want the game to run smoothly on console. The game can sometimes randomly freeze or lag during chase which is really irritating.

  • I feel like this goes with most things that end the game early, like a mori or camping.

  • Also if you blow up a generator and get off it off it at the same time, the animation for blowing up the generator wouldn't play.

  • @bjorksnas said:

Bruh I got around 250 left over cakes on p3 killers it will be fine

But that's just you. I probably only have like 100 saved up, if that.

  • You shouldn't chase someone who pre throws pallets for an extended time. That goes with all maps.

  • Yeah no, the game is balanced around your average red ranker, not really good survivors or killers.

  • Likely just a bug, saw a double pallet spawn on the swamp not too long ago.

it's not wasting if you know how to get all the perks

It is wasting time though, you have to wait for the perk to be in the shrine which could take 1 week or 4 months.

  • I mean I'd rather just waste shards than wastr time waiting for the right perk to appear in the shrine.

So I've been lurking these threads after these pyramid head nerfs and I keep seeing every survivor respond in the exact same way like a hivemind. I can get behind the nerf where the cage spawns elsewhere, I cannot get behind the nerf where PH cant see the aura of the cage. Can survivors begin to understand that one low rank pyramid head tunneling people does not mean that pyramid head is a killer that deserves to have their tools neutered because a possible application of their ability is tunneling/camping. An example of this is legion, Legion is not a tunneling killer because his design encourages going after groups and clumps of survivors, not individuals. I wish survivors could understand how much of a disadvantage it is to essentially not be able to see a hook, so caging people is actively giving up pressure now. If nothing else, I wish for pyramid head mains to gain compensation and buffs, Ill make a post later on a pyramid head rework/buff.

Back on the topic of survivors not contributing to conversations, survivors make no efforts to actually understand how hard these nerfs are, to survivors, these nerfs will make pyramid head hook more often. To killers, an interesting killer has been essentially lost a huge part of their pressure, and now has to play the game in a much more orthodox manner. This nerf will not end tunneling, this nerf will just make pyramid head tunnelers just throw you on hooks and then tunnel you.

Now heres WHY these nerfs are rough on pyramid head. This is not just a crippling to the option of tunneling through the nerf of the cage despawning. Removing the ability to tunnel is always rough for killers. The taking away of the cage aura is the worst part. Survivors can still see the cage aura, while the killer cant, essentially making it so the survivors have more information from the killers power than the killer. A survivor can effectively uncage someone and start stealthing and before pyramid head could at least have a good idea that now 2 survivors are coming from that cage, but now by uncaging then stealthing, 2 survivors have essentially become unknowns. This also makrd it hard for PH to properly capitalize on the potential advantage of stripping survivors of certain perks due to the Pyramid head being forced to ignore cages. Pyramid heads playstyle has become less freeform due to this, instead of choosing if to cage or not to cage, then if you should then go to the cage or patrol gens, PH will likely only cage as a last resort when surrounded by flashlights or to dodge an obvious DS. This makes his playstyle much less interesting and makes him play like an orthodox killer more often than not, which if you really think of it, Orthodox is not what you should expect from either silent hill or dead by daylight.

This all just infuriates me to no end. I remember joking about the 4th anniverary killer being pyramid head but threw the concept away because it was too far of a reach. I wanted pyramid head far more than any other killer in this game and I was excited when I saw how cool his power seemed. I find it incredibly annoying for survivors to just try to deflect the ridiculousness of the nerfs with saying things like “Just dont tunnel or play scummy” or things of that nature. Pyramid head did not need these nerfs, at all.

I'm gonna start this by saying that I play more survivor and that I didn't play that much Ph, but I'm think I have a pretty good grasp on his power.

Anyway I think main problem isn't the nerf its his cages, because most of the time I don't find that the cages are useful, like at all. The cages don't give much of any pressure as the survivors usually save instantly, and also require a them to be tormented which is easier said than done. It also doesn't help that some of the strongest perks relies on hooking a survivor. All that just for a hook stage without carrying a survivor to a hook, and allow you to avoid survivor hook perks.

  • I like most autohaven maps but wreckers yard in particular, as its small, but still has a decent density of pallets. Love the map for both sides.

Edit: I also love Midwich as survivor but not as killer.

  • Um no, if they did add this feature it would be highly abusable, as people would just use this feature instead of DCing. Also it would make slugging builds kinda pointless as the survivors would just kill themselves after being downed for 30 seconds.

  • Im missing clown, Yui, and adam.

Clown doesn't intrest me much as I find freddy pretty boring to play, and they both have relatively similar powers.

Planning on gettting yui next, because I already have two of Adam's perks.

  • From looking at your perks, the build you have on is probably the best.
