On the latest Q&A stream, the devs said they’re working on ideas that would change the way Mori’s work.
about 4 yrs too late. used to just be able to kill them without hooking LOL thats how ######### the design is
-
i dont think they need nerfed but it is kind of a ######### you moment when you put effort into downing someone only to get punished for picking them up like youre suppose to. kind of a ######### up concept, know what im sayin?
basically rewards slugging and chasin the flashlight guy

i think everyone should have to be hooked atl east once before the killer can mori anyone

The perk doesn't take longer than 3 seconds to activate - and if it does, this is not intended. BUT it only begins to activate once the character model is fully in the locker, which is why you might feel it takes longer than 3 seconds before it's ready to activate.
sry but are you saying it knows when the char is fully in the locker between slow and fast. i dont mean to criticize but judging by the coding team and minor in depth detail that bhvr seems to focus on rather than other major problems. i have a hard time believing thats the case

If they buffed Killers to be on level with SWF, then no one would play Solo
static tuning isnt the greatest choice
dbd should make ranks reward something so ppl strive to get higher rank
then make killers more buffed against higher rank surv, cause i think high rank survs bully the killer more
while low rank survs get buffed against killer.
cause to me killer pwns low ranks
but then get looped for 5 gens at high ranks
-
me: ya know what, i think ima play a killer ppl dont see much, the hag
game: heres a map with barely any lighting and tall grass
me: guess ima go look at a wall in the basement
-
i flipped a coin the other day to see if i would quit, thats how furious i was
######### facecamping cannibals and moris. getting sick of the #########
-
maybe if they got rid of the need to struggle for dc's and make dc's more punishable. this ######### wouldnt need to be addressed
-
survivors: ggez
-
i do everything on killer besides kill, i dmg gens, destroy pallets, double hook, chase. and my killer sits around rank 11-13
(which i enjoy, i want to be low rank to have nice chill games)
i do everything on survivor, besides escape (unless im just beaten into submission) repair gens, unhook ppl, heal. and my surv gets into red ranks with ease.
the emblem and pip system needs to be reworked i think.
but you did good considering ure playing wraith
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
So you are expecting to pip when you intentionally are not killing everyone? So you basically meme around and expect a reward for this?
no im asking why is it so easy for surv to pip, i want to stay around rank 10 and 13.
just thought id add about how killer/surv i do everything on both besides kill/escape but my killer stays rank 11-12 while my surv goes into red ranks

Its supposed to be a solo perk , SWF have enough tool to find the hatch and its already broken cuz they can communicate between them and suicide for the hatch so that perk is fine atm.
thats what i said....
-
just make it larger, ure competing with a killer who can down you and moves faster for it, you brought it to find hatch a single perk that would only come into play maybe once every 10 games? if ure lucky
-
@MadLordJack said:
That is due to the deficit of people wanting to play killer, at least at green/purple/red ranks. Less killers = less matches (because they are half a match). It also doesn't help that the few killers that are there are being taken up by swf squads due to a matchmaking change a while back (implemented to prevent derank bullying).
i deranked and stay around 12-13 and dont kill survs anymore, just dbl hook. so i get average/chill/new survs cause im sick of all the toxicity and verbal harassment in higher ranks
-
i just dont like the grind as a new player
its basically telling me either buy something or enjoy playing the same ######### for WEEKS
-
this is exactly what i wanted

its fine unless its only 2 survs left and he slugged him/you to go find the other one. kinda toxic, and slows down the game for all 3 ppl to a snails pace (especially when the first slug cant be found now and waiting for him to bleed out)
all so he can get that one last kill "guaranteed"
-
needs a rework, she has been nerfed a whole bunch cause a very very VERY small % of players are unstoppable so normal killers who dont play nurse or just overall average killers wont have a fun time with her ever and is just a killer in their list.

its ok, youll be gone when you realize how bad the grind is

theres nothing i hate more than tryhard swf/killers hanging around in low ranks to bully new players.
go ######### yourself

well in studio there is a pipeline they need to go through before changing or doing anything.
honestly i wish they focused on the grind more so new players feel more welcomed into the game

who the ######### enjoys playing like that though unless youre a scumbag.

yeah lets get rid of bloodlust, lets also remove windows being blocked during chase. we might as well make it so killer cant destroy pallets too. that way rly good survs can loop the killer without being punished

Survivors have time to waste. The butt dance is usually performed after a pallet stun or vaulting a window with the killer hitting a wall, which results is no time lost for the survivor team. Each second of a killer match counts, and I’ve laughed numerous times seeing a hook-smacking killer lose a kill because he was caught in the animation.
the butt dance, what a nice word to cover up such a toxic act. to make yourselves feel better about making others feel as miserable as you perhaps?

i will continue to play dbd if they did something about the god dam grind

You may not care, and that's fine, but the entire thing isn't a waste of time because your question did not get answered.
As for why your question was not answered, it is unrelated to the updates that the Q&A was focused on, as mentioned in the original post.
will bhvr do a q&a for the future of dbd

All survivors need to do is cleanse five totems. That's it. Somehow, that's too difficult?
O wait, Ruin was nerfed because survivors couldn't hit skill checks. I forgot. Carry on.
yeah but this was a good change. imagine being a new player and every killer running ruin. that ######### wouldnt be the slightest bit of fun and theyd prolly refund the game within 30mins

maybe emblems could give some actual decent xp, could help with people not suiciding or dcing and playing the same to the best of their ability to lvl up faster as well as maybe afk wraiths (not a rly a problem but you see em sometimes)

@Chaoutzu said:
Give the survivors an op perk like bbq/chili that does something for them AND boosts the amount of bps they get. Survivors have a perk that boosts bps when you unhook, but that encourages farming hooks, essentially ruining games for whoever is getting tunneled.
prove thyself gives you extra coop bps which youll see alot more in the upcoming patch when the gen speed nerfs. WGLF also procs from protection hits and you can run deliverance too for an extra stack as well as rescue bps, not a bad perk. and if you really want to go hard you can run saboteur, another not so bad perk anymore that gives extra bps. and yeah wglf gives you extra points, but getting to the cap isnt easy in itself so prove thyself is pretty nice.
but again the main issue i have when making this thread was with shards
making sure new players stay interested in the game by getting more character easily
what kind of perk would you suggest making/giving extra bps to though or what effect would you add to wglf
-
@Gcarrara said:
What specific grind are you talking about? And what would you personally suggest? Would you reduce the Bloodpoints required on bloodwebs? Or increase the amount of Bloodpoints earned? Or would you do something different instead of changing the numbers directly?
Or maybe you are talking about something else and not Bloodpoints related?
honestly figured this would get deleted. well bps is just a grind within a grind of shards. theyre not really an issue from where i stand maybe something small could be done but waste of manpower to focus on it right now. the problem is shards. honestly a missed opportunity by not making cosmetics purely auric cells. would get alot of backfire if you did that now. but if you said something along the lines of making characters cost less shards at the same time it would help but might just split the community up from new players/veteran players. but might help bring in alot of new players. (idk just spit ballin stuff).
i bought this game recently and am a new pc player with 150 hours (about 14000 shards obtained). in this time ive been able to buy one killer. bought the newest deathslinger (also bought leatherface)
i enjoy the game but what i dont enjoy is playing the same stuff over and over and over (when my pool to diversify what i play is so small, feel i need to say this cause if i had everything i would probably enjoy the game a long time to come since theres countless of combinations of ways to play). i want to play other surv perks and other killers
if we take lvl 50-100 rewards and xp requirement, it takes 210 ten minute games to lvl up enough and get 9k shards to buy a new character. thats without que times, games lasting under 10mins, games lasting over 10mins. people dcing in loading and going back to que etc etc. time adds up quick.
plenty of other games have catchup mechanics, r6, league, WoW. pretty much anywhere you find a long lasting mmo youll find catchup mechanics.
you can increase bps, you can make it so prestige characters dont require as many bps, or just decrease it all together
shards, you can decrease required or increase the amount you get as well but i dont really like that as a player or from a business sense. i would make it so either less popular surv/killer (so people would see more diversity in the game) or the oldest surv/killers (a more logical standpoint the community would understand) require less shards, so everytime a new killer/surv comes out the oldest ones get required by 100 shards or something (its something at least, leave the tuning and ideas to you guys) while the newest killer/surv still would require a full purchase until the next release and then theyll drop to 8900
what do you think about these ideas, do you think they would or would not work and why. i dont mean to come off as toxic and rude oh though im sure it probably feels that way and it kind is honestly, sorry. im just pretty frustrated with the game and the decisions. the game itself is lovely, i really do enjoy it and the time you guys put into it to make it better. of course the tuning could be better here and there but the overall game is very enjoyable. it just feels very unwelcoming as a new player.
-
aint even a secret anymore thats funny part
-
i play both sides, i use to be a surv main but now im a killer main. and i think mori does need changing. i liked the idea of having to hook everyone at least once before you can mori someone (only if youre using ebony mori though). the other one someone talked about was after 2nd hook but thats kinda stupid.
-

So nerf something because you have bad luck? Ok then...
i liked otzdarva idea for the pig making it so her traps are unlocked by 1,2,3 or 4 no less no more. random which one the surv gets. and if you use the 5th (from add) then that 5th one will just use random 1-4. that way its not so luck

This freddy was VPNing from China (no meme)
this is why i welcomed that change "as a gamer" for china to ban their people from playing on foreign servers. as a human rights thing its like dafuq. but yeah as a gamer im sick of the chinese ruining my games on NA. going to be seeing alot less farm bots and hackers and might be able to play pubg with people who speak english now

I don't think we have enough players for multiple modes.
Besides that, the upcoming new matchmaking system will have hidden ranks, so we won't be able to tell which ranks our opponents and teammates have anyway.
easier to hide it than fix matchmaking :D

As of 200 something hours, I have half the cast of survivors ranked up, and no killers reasonably leveled. My reasoning for this is I bought the game to play with someone, so I'm going to work on the aspect of the game I can play with someone first. On the bright side, it has encouraged me to play around with a lot of random builds, so I've learned a lot about the survivor's side & how to utilize perks I'd never have touched. On the downside, I've had to learn about killers, their abilities, and their general game play outside of the game. As a lot of people will tell you, playing both is how you become good at either side. I just can't do that in a way that is at all fun, so Youtube / Twitch it had to be for now.
Of the many threads I've read now in regards to this, my favorite idea is just removing tiers from perks. It would save a ton of blood points in both normal leveling & encouraging people to prestige, while still not being so fast you'd skip over trying out a lot of builds.
i wasnt even talking about bps man. thats another grind for another day. im talking about shards
if youre using lvl 50-100 standards it takes 210 ten minute games to be able to lvl up enough to get 9k shards to buy a new character. (you get xp while in game up to ten mins in the game or 600 xp)
over 200 ten minute games. let that sink in.
thats not counting the time you sat in que, the loading time. games that lasted longer than 10mins and now just wasting xp time, games that lasted under 10mins and now you gotta go and sit back in que/loading or someone dcing in loading.
but to talk about your point, yeah i read somewhere it takes like 130 something give or take bloodwebs to get all the perks on a character if you have all teachables. which is goofy since you lost everything on prestige and 50 is the max lvl. an idea i saw i liked was that it removes a tier needed if you do prestige. so a max prestige character would get all the perks maxed out when doing bloodweb while someone who has no prestige would have to lvl up the perk by tiers.
idk i just think something needs to be done about the grind. the shards, the bps, the cost of old and new killers, the bloodweb increasing with each new release.
even wow made heirlooms to help ppl lvl up on their alts after it was out for 4 yrs, r6 has older year ops get cheaper with each year. league has older champions costing less essence. every other game out there it seems has some sort of catchup mechanic
-
shouldve done a poll, my pick is trapper
-
well you have to take into account that most people use sloppy butcher too when they use thana making it that much more effective.

Burnout is healthy and natural - doing the same thing for years on end will get boring, no matter how many changes are made outside of completely revamping it to a whole new game. Take it as a chance to step away and find something else, and if you try it again later after a break, it might be refreshed for a time.
why not make a weekly rotating mode that is goofy
like 2v8, perkless, and one where everyone is legion. so you can tell whose surv and whose killer. are just some ideas ive had for modes
dont rly have to focus on balancing these things after initial release most likely (just some tuning before release to make them somewhat playable) since theyre just goofy things to break up the same ######### for 4 yrs

the increase of people using DS is equal to the increase of seeing slugging and moris :P

@Peanits said:
The best advice I could give you is to not sweat the losses right now. She's far from the easiest to play, especially with a controller, so there's no shame in losing with her. The only way you're really going to get better with her is to lose and learn from your mistakes. Going against easier opponents might make you win now, but it won't help you learn how to mindgame and hit the good ones.
If you are playing against good survivors, though, I would recommend not blinking through walls (at least, not all the time) but instead blinking to the corners. Survivors need to break line of sight to get away from you. If you blink to where you think they'll be if they kept running, they can wait by the corner and run back the other direction and you'll have no idea where they are. By blinking to the corner, you can make sure that you can see them no matter which way they go.
But you're ultimately want to get a feel for it. Sometimes it'll work, sometimes it won't. You'll need to practice and get a feel for what works and what doesn't, and how to read a survivor and guess what they'll do next.
With the next update, we'll be increasing the maximum controller sensitivity, which might help you out a little if you find that it's not turning fast enough.
but its great that yall keep nerfing her because very few handful of players play her really well. pandering to the lowest common denominator thats alwasy worked for sure. i wonder what wr is, prolly under 40%. lowest of all killers i bet
maybe, just a thought hear me out. let the players who are good with nurse be good with her and everyone else can play an effective killer without having to be a god

@Desh said:
Your post is vague and open to interpretation which shows by the mix comments presented in it. So I'll address them accordingly.
BP gain - Max you can get with nothing to enhance is 32,000 flat. Throw WGLF or BBQ into the mix, it's 64,000. Throw Cake/Pudding into the mix, it's 96,000. This doesn't include any additional BPS thrown by other players or BP events. Everyone knows for a fact that it is easiest to gain BP on Killer side since you naturally meet your objectives as you chase and hook Survivors. Everything else follows through. BP gain is fine where it's at (in my opinion). You kinda lose track when you spend time playing and before you know it, you capped on BP whether it's Survivor or Killer.
Leveling Characters - I found it pretty easy to level Killers since there are far fewer than Survivors. It takes roughly around 1.3M BP to get a character to 40 if you go the cheapest route possible in the Blood Web by spending it mostly on brown and yellow items. If I had to give an estimated guess, it's prob around 1.8-2M BP to get a character to level 50. When it comes to the end state, my intention and goal is to get all my Killers P3-50 with all perks on them. For Survivors, I will only use one Survivor at P3-50 Max while the others are leveled enough to where I have all their teachable perks. For the time it took me to make that happen on the Survivor side, it took me about 2 weeks of farming on Killer with BBQ, no events, and minor boosts for offerings such at 50% in specific categories. Killer side, I so far have 3 Killers at P3-50 with all perks and currently working on the 4th. And it's taken me a couple months since I play other games and do can't play back to back.
Essentially, yes it does take time if your goal is to get every maxed and all that. But the grind isn't that bad honestly when it comes to BP. Now onto shards since I've seen someone mention it.
Shards - Let's be clear on shards. We are privileged to be able to buy DLC content and most Cosmetics with shards. While a lot of people support the game by just outright buying the content, others choose to farm for shards so that they can eventually unlock a character. So someone who has bought the base game and has grinded for new characters and perks, they essentially saved a ton of money while BHVR loses money due to the grind. In a way though, this still supports the game because it promotes players to continuously play the game in hopes of attracting new people into the fold. So it's questionable on whether or not BHVR loses money. I doubt they do but the possibility is still there.
When it comes to cross-progression, I am down for that. I love a lot of progress when I switched from console to PC. But I feel as though that's in the works and we'll just have to wait and see.
Bottom line is, the grind is needed so that players can be maintained. If we obtained everything so easily, not as much people would be playing because they have nothing to look forward too besides longer queue times for matches. There would be no strive or challenge.
i supported the game by buying the ######### game only to be smacked upside the head with 1/4th of the survs and killers in the game and 100 hrs to be able to buy one more
it takes 210 ten minute games to be able to get 9k shards for lvl 50-100
the grind is killing this ######### game. no new players wants to buy a ######### game then realize they aint got ######### but hey maybe theyre hopeful till they realize how insane the grind actually ######### is and think to themselves #########? i gotta waste my life on this game just to unlock everything? and hope theyre still in the refund window and go buy dark souls instead
maybe if this was f2p the looney tunes grind and micro transactions would make sense. but its not
not to mention the slap in the ######### face of dbd mobile being free and way less of a grind. what a joke
-
dead by daylight 2: Double the grind
all the same killers but slightly different
new maps that use the same layout but slightly different assets
and it wouldnt be dbd without that spaghetti code
tada, dbd 2
