Everyone was using it! If this is not the sign of a perk that is WAY ABOVE the others i dunno...
Do you like the current state of the game now though? I'd rather have a rollback and keep enjoying the game.

DBD now is... Well... the waiting time to find a killer match is very bad, yesterday I played for an hour or an hour and a half, maybe 2 hours, I only managed to do 4 matches, we wait 5, 10 and even 15 minutes depending on the time , I'm an average killer, I can play very well or very bad and if I play really bad... boom a game that lasted 5 min and I'm waiting 10 min for the next one, I'm playing DBD very little too, I play more other things , Elden Ring, Star Wars fallen order, overwatch.
The chart doesn't lie.

Bloody hell you played a lot on both sides, and win a lot, for you and other people that play dbd for a long time... I can't imagine a bit your frustrations with the devs.
Good luck, out there.
... DH for distance was a pain In the...
Thank you. Even though I enjoyed survivor more, I had my specific builds for specific killers that I enjoyed a lot like infinite Tier 3 Myers with Fire Up + Bamboozle perk that would make him so fast when it came to vaulting. Or speed limiter Bubba with chainsaw replenish add on and Save the Best for Last perk. It would allow me some great plays because survivors would expect an ordinary Bubba.
Anyone who had some experience in killer knew how to play around Dead Hard. It was made so much of a big deal for no reason. I haven't booted my game since the update was rolled out. I'm playing other games now.

Look man, I understand your frustration I really do. Dead Hard was a staple perk on ALL of my survivors unless I was memeing then I would use Head On. Dead Hard was strong and I am completely on board to nerfing it for the sake of "shaking up the meta" as the developers described it.
However! If they're going to "shake up the meta" than you need to buff other perks to compensate. Off The Record not even close to replacing DH especially since it's a wasted slot at end game. Spine Chill was NOT buffed despite what many in this very thread keep spewing. If you played with that perk last patch, then played on it this patch you would definitely agree it's a hard nerf and unwarranted. The faster action speed (generator repair, healing, vaulting, etc.) and the fact it was killer directional which made you aware they were coming TO YOU is what made this perk. I don't need to know if the killer is within a radius! I have ears! Nerfing self-care? It was already a hinderance on your teammates if you ran that because of the ridiculously slow healing speed, AND they nerfed healing speed in general!? Why!? It was already slow as a snail! I do not understand the Iron Will nerf either, it really only countered one of the strongest killers in the game (Spirit, not THE strongest but one of). You're still injured leaving blood splatters everywhere.
Again, I am completely on board with "shaking up the meta" as noted by the developers. Let's ALL use completely different perks and have some fun! I was excited. But then...
Killer's generator slow down perks are...BUFFED!?!?!? Whaaaatt!? I have played the game since 2016, the moment Ruin was released it has been a generator slow down meta for killers. "ShAkE Up ThE MeTa" by buffing generator slow down perks!? AND increasing generator repair time?
Ok, ok...I guess I can get on board with that...so long as you give survivors the ability to prolong chases even further without dead hard since that perk is dead now (pun intended). I am definitely up for long chases! Chases are what make this game fun! And long chases ARE THE COUNTER to campers and tunnelers! You want to camp and tunnel that one survivor all game? That's fine, we'll push out these generators and punish that so you get your one and only kill you want so bad.
Oh yea...they buffed killer vaulting speed now. Again!?
So let me get this straight...
- "Shake up the meta" by nerfing all survivor perks and buffing garbage perks that don't prolong chases which is needed to counter campers/tunnelers.
- "Shake up the meta" by buffing generator slow down perks...which were already meta since Ruin was released.
- Increase generator repair time. Increase killer vaulting speed. Increase healing time.
- Nerf killer perks that were already never used by high ranking killers anyways just to say "we nerfed some killer perks too!".
...and DBD has now been uninstalled until you give survivors some very, very much needed love. I will stick to League of Legends for my competitive gameplay (DBD is a party game not a e-sport you sweat lords!). And stick to Slay the Spire, Hearthstone, Fall Guys, etc. for my "for fun game (replacement of DBD). DBD solo survivor is just completely unfun and I play games to have fun, not to win but to have fun.
I agree with everything you've said except the ultimate Dead Hard nerf. It didn't need that much of a change. Every experienced killer pretty much knew how to play around it.
I'm also playing online PvP races on Forza Horizon 5 and Dying Light 2 with my friends in co-op. Haven't looked back at DbD once since the update was rolled out.
-
Idea: Make unbreakable basekit. Crazy, right?
-
I knew the hacking thing was going to rise once this 6.1.0 was rolled out. The patch is so bad that they butchered all of the perks, people resorted to hacking again. (Survivor side) I just knew this was coming.

I mean sure you might say that, but the loses are still there,it's not like the game has peaked..
I'll give it 1 more week to come to a final conclusion but yes, the game has not peaked and killer queue times prove that the interest to play survivor has decreased significantly.

LOL
"If any assumptions are to be made, it's that killer is somewhat overpowered right now. We can theorize that because gamers are willing to wait 15+ minutes for a killer match and don't feel an incentive to switch sides. (Where survivor queue times have been 10 seconds or less)." - me several posts ago.
There's just no evidence of a player drop from the patch. Players switched roles, lmao.
The fact that players have switched roles is still bad. The interest or excitement to player survivor is decreasing because of this patch. I haven't played the game in a while and I don't miss it at all when I think about how I will mess up in a chase or whenever I want to dodge Trapper traps or get out basement/reach to the exit, and there's no actual useful Dead Hard to use anymore. I've been playing other games like Forza Horizon 5 or Dying Light 2 with friends and even though they don't replace Dead by Daylight I still don't look back. However though, if in the future developers decide to revert back these changes I will be playing frequently.

This patch is terrible, the killer knocks out all the survivors with 5 generators and they still keep coming back to the hook, worst update ever, I want my decisive strike and dead hard back, revert this patch please I'm leaving the game already there was tunneling before, it was hard to get out alive, now it's impossible.
Many loyal players who are always playing will lose.
Not everyone likes to play assassin.
And all assassins already know how to wait for the time of the dead hard and decisive strike.
The reduced speed of the survivors made the game even worse.
I'm really sad about the direction the game has taken.
I will be leaving the game, playing since 2020. 3,500hrs. on steam.
Yeap, it is.
Nice gains also.

I mean, how do you play around Iron Will?
But seriously "Dead Hard did not need a nerf"? It sure did.
I never made Dead Hard a problem when I was playing as killer. Same goes for Iron Will. Both perks were never an issue for me. I figured out how to play around both.
The future of DbD isn't bright, I just wanted to say.
-
@DBD78 said:
Spine chill was buffed did you miss that? Dead hard very much needed that nerf it was unfair in many ways. Iron Will is still strong. Self-Care you should not even use that perk so making survivors bring medkits or Inner healing instead is only good for survivors.
I guess I missed that but that doesn't make much difference at all. Overall all of the perks have been butchered.

The devs give them another killer nerf
After that, the survivors play even worse.
The child begins to kill them
After that, they go to the forum, whine, and they are given totems

works pretty well for me 15% of the time
How very humble of you to respect the survivor's objective and wait for them to finish the generator. There aren't many killers left with such dignity and honor like yourself. +Respect.
-
But you can hit survivors from 20 miles away, Freddy. So you can make up for that.
In all seriousness, it's the validation that cancels grab animation. For instance when they are trying to unhook a survivor, you have to be patient and time it right and the rest is pretty much luck.
-
I just like how straight forward the message is. I agree though. I only once survived in that map as a killer with the help of Agitation, Iron Grasp and Mad Grit combination.
Often times I hate the map both as a survivor and killer. Traversing is just so time consuming and there is no loop logic. You just keep moving forward as a survivor and hope for the best that you can come across a god pallet or lose line of sight and your scratch marks/blood trail. And as killer, you hope that some survivor willingly jumps into your arms and does not struggle while you carry them to the nearest hook (that if you can locate one.)
-
There should be community/in-game tasks or something to reduce/remove ban time. I don't know how but in a way to encourage the person with DC penalty to behave in a positive way and in return reduce/remove their ban time. This should not feel rewarding for the person with DC penalty but should remind them that they are going to have to work towards the reduction/removal of the penalty.
I think DC penalty system should be reworked. I don't know what the community thinks but the current way it is, it just sucks. You sit and miserably wait whereas there should be something you can do.
Opinions?

Epic handing out free copies plus paying BHVR for each copy someone claims is a joke. It's not even free, it's just on the house at Epic Store. BHVR still makes money for each copy given away. And this keeps increasing the hacker amount cause someone with multiple mail addresses can claim multiple copies of the game.
-
Survivors suffered from stupid hits for a long time. Validation is good. They just don't know how to tweak the visual feedback I guess. If they fix that, it won't look absurd. And you are not robbed off your powers. You don't go in lunge cooldown as it doesn't count as successful hit. It just counts as if it was a missed attack cooldown.

Speaking as someone who plays about 70% killer, the current NOED just feels so cheap and unrewarding to use. Not to mention extremely un fun to go against as a survivor
We’re also in the “99” meta right now where survivors will complete 99% of the exit gates so they’re essentially open and ready for everyone to escape, but without the pressure of the end game collapse or killer perks like Blood Warden
So how about if we kill two birds with one stone and reworked Hex: No One Escapes Death into a perk that automatically starts regressing the exit gates once a survivor stops working on them, and maybe also made the person opening them Exposed just to spice things up
This would force survivors to either fully open the gates or risk everyone dying if the killer chases them back to the now partially regressed exit gates
another idea would be to maybe add in a hook prerequisite on top of that similar to No Way Out. So if you hook 1 survivor the gates will regress a maximum of 20%, 2 hooks 30%, 3 hook 40% and if you hook all survivors at least once you’re guaranteed 50% regression (providing they don’t just open them straight away that is)
I think this would be much healthier for the game and a much more rewarding perk than the current NOED
Yo I like this rework idea. I play %60 survivor and %40 killer. I'm down for this change if it were to happen. I am sick of the way NOED works currently when I face it as survivor and as a killer, I never equip it. I always use perks that help me throughout the entire game.

Pinhead and his stupid lament box. The sh.t allows him to get free downs around loops cause random arse chains spawn out of nowhere. Probably the most boring killer to play against. We don't always have opportunity or time to go grab the box and solve it. It's not like ''do bones.''
Much like Freddy, we are on a timer and then the stupid random chains spawn again. I'd rather play against Freddy than Pinhead. Or play against Legion and mend all game. Screw Pinhead. Takes no brain to play, takes misery to play against. All Pinhead mains should feel ashamed for playing him.

What the f..? What am I seeing? :S

This is what I used for that challenge.
Iridescent Queen add on + ''Calm'' - Carter's Notes add on.
Iridescent Queen: Any time a Survivor is within 4 meters of another Survivor carrying a Static Charge, the Survivor receives a shock identical to a Shock Therapy Attack and the Static Charge is discharged immediately.
''Calm'' - Carter's Notes: Increases Terror Radius by 8 meters while Static Blast is ready. Decreases Terror Radius by 8 meters while Static Blast is on cooldown.
Perks:
Barbecue & Chili: Your classic killer perk. Just allows you to track other survivors upon putting a survivor on hook if the rest are 32 meters further than you and are not in a locker..
Corrupt Intervention: Allows you 2 minutes in the beginning to narrow down your patrol area so you don't immediately lose a generator in the beginning..
Monitor and Abuse: Increases your Terror Radius by 8 meters while you are in a chase with a survivor. Otherwise, if you are not in a chase, your Terror Radius is decreased by 8 meters.
Distressing: Your Terror Radius is increased by %26.
In summary, the Doctor had 32 meters Terror Radius by default. Pairing his base Terror Radius with ''Calm'' - Carter's Notes add on + Monitor and Abuse perk + Distressing perk should give you somewhere around 56 meters Terror Radius whenever you get into a chase with a survivor. So as soon as you get into a chase with a survivor, charge and pop your Static Blast, every survivor within 56 meters of your Terror Radius should scream. It allows you to cover half of the map with 1 Static Blast.
With this, you should be able to keep them at Tier 3, if not Tier 2 Madness througout the whole game because whenever the survivor with a Static Charge get 4 meters close to one another, they will also discharge the Static Charge affecting the other survivor and both of them scream, revealing their location.
With this build, you basically keep them busy with Madness and keep them screaming. This is not the nastiest build, can be made worse by modifying 2 perks but I made this specifically for this scream challenge.
Hope it works for you, good luck!

Yeah, well if she was a hacker she was good at it because she didn't make me notice anything the whole game. More like a stealth hacker then but in the end, she made it obvious because otherwise she probably couldn't make it out without force opening the gate then.. Just my thinking.

The bans are given out when the game detects that you left the trial without reaching a real end. This gets anyone who DCs from the escape menu, unplugs their internet or force closes the game, as well as any DCs from non-rage quitting sources.
Since you connect to the Steam servers that then connect you to the DBD servers, either connection not working looks the same on DBD servers' end, because your game client is no longer able to communicate with the servers.
How do you propose they fix the DC penalties while also preventing people from exploiting your fix to DC from matches without consequence?

I don't know, I'm not a network engineer. Does the same thing happen in CSGO if someone gets disconnected from an ongoing ranked match caused by Valve themselves due to a downtime? Maybe BHVR should have their own launcher therefore we wouldn't need to rely on consistent Steam connection for DbD on PC.

Not only did Steam go down the other day but it also went down today. That's 2 DCs within 24 hours for me, so they stack up. Be that my own DC or Valve-sided, these just add up. They should change the way the DC penalties work. Idk maybe give tasks to players to reduce their ban time somehow.

Don't forget fake dead hard, it's a thing now. In many matches, I run back at killer without activating my dead hard, they turn around to follow me and they assume I used my dead hard in split second, then when they turn back at me again to lunge, I dead hard. This is and must be the new way of using dead hard. All good killers wait it out.

Outfits are linked for either licensing reasons or clipping issues. And okay, I can understand both of those things - you can't put Scorched Ghostface's mask on his regular body, or a Legion mask on their bunny body. And if Capcom insists there's no mixing and matching on the RE characters, then what can you do.
But then there's this.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0NQWDDYIP364/image.png
This image isn't mine; found it on Reddit. But it raises a very good point. The shape of Feng's pyjama top and bottoms are nearly identical to two non-linked outfits that can be mixed freely, and hair and headband pieces never clip period. So why is this a set? What is the official reason for this?
There are other linked outfits which seem to have no reason to be linked - Felix's long-haired set, Yun-Jin's socialite outfit.
The community has overwhelmingly voiced its dislike for linked outfits and I can't imagine that outfit sales don't reflect this. So why is this happening?
I simply am not going to buy Feng's set piece. You can simply boycot unlicensed set outfits. I too very much dislike set pieces, takes freedom of mixing and matching.

Personally yeah I agree, I'm not a fan of the killer instinct effect.
It sucks that you can react to the fact that a crow is about to come at the gen you're working on, move away accordingly so they miss, and just due to the speed of them she still comes and knows you're on the gen because missing still reveals you.
It's already an incredibly powerful global information tool, and it feels like there's a lot of moments that come from the killer instinct that give her just a bit too much info. On top of that it's very difficult as survivor to judge if you HAVE been revealed or not.
In my eyes I think they should remove the effect, then take the add on that increases the range of the killer instinct and make that add on give it the killer instinct effect.
I just don't think you should get that much information and reward for missing your ability.
Ah yes, finally someone that makes sense. Thank you.

So first game and you're already crying for nerfs. Neat.
Yes, I am complaning about crows revealing location of a survivor when they are inside a locker. It shouldn't work. Also boon totem that allows survivors to not leave scratch marks when within the range of the totem should be nerfed too. Then I guess we will be even.

Iron Maiden is not even annoying. I frequently use it with Huntress, it is a must in my case and when I have it used against me, I don't get in lockers anymore if there is an unrepaired generation nearby, I try to hide my aura behind it when the killer hooks someone.

No, they did post an argument. It's niche at best as they said, only lasts for a few seconds, requires that she knows you're in a locker, and tracking doesn't mean as much compared to getting downs. Legion's tracking is there and yet it shows that it doesn't make a Killer good.
Legion puts effort in it. Legion has to use frenzy, successfully hit a survivor and then chain a hit more maybe and then if another survivor is in range of the killer instinct detection then they are revealed. Legion does not randomly send birds away to reveal people's location whether they are in a locker. It is actually rewarding in Legion's case as long as you can maintain the frenzy power and have people that are in killer instinct range. On the other hand, The Artist's is effortless.
-
@GannTM said:

Doesn't it require 3 disconnects before the penalty hits 30 mins? Are you telling me your internet connection was perfectly fine the whole time, the game somehow doesn't direct connect you to their servers but uses Steam as an intermediary for some reason, and Steam went down which resulted in you getting kicked from the game but came back up again in time for you to play again, repeated that process at least 2 more times, and then you had your 30 min disconnect penalty all because of Steam? This seems extremely unlikely. I'd wager that your internet connection was just having problems.
No I'm not telling you that. In the post, I am complaining about single time disconnection caused by Valve. The prior 2 disconnects are on me. The thing is, I have to stay clean for the next 24 hours for this ban to go down to 15 minutes. I am taking forced breaks from game to let the disconnect time cooldown and this Valve Steam downtime just added up. Not to mention I cannot know when Valve is going to hit players, it just happens. And it adds up to current penalty/penalties and this doesn't help.
