  • I wonder that myself too. Having much fun grinding BP with 2v8 as survivor. 75k to 100k games for days!

  • Since the 400% BP bonus, my 1v4 killer queues are far better during daytime EU. Like 3 mins or something. Was 5 to 7 before the 400% BP bonus.

  • I take everything I get my hands on for free. BPs, rift fragments or XP, don't matter.

  • Hope they will extent the bloodhunt for the PSN users.

  • Anyone else still have problems?
Can't log in on the game.

Pretty much what every game is on Chaos Shuffle. Just constant camping and tunnelling, and maybe throw in a dash of slugging as well. It's non stop this evening. Trying to play this in solo queue as a survivor at the moment is genuinely an awful experience.

I get it, you don't have your usual meta perks, but at least try and make what you get work? That's the whole point of the mode but unfortunately it's turned into absolute crap.

And on top of that, they made the tome with a challenge you HAVE to escape in order to go further in the tome. Great idea to do that in a place where you only can bypass by being forced to play killer.

  • Just had Quick and Quiet, Head on, Finesse and Leader. That build felt pretty good, tbh.

I don't slug. I don't even play with perks or addons.

    >The game is about killing people on hook

    Who said that?

    >4 slugs on floor = free DC

Actually not a bad idea. A2M should hire you.

Why are there hooks on the map, then? Please explain that to me.

  • @Interrupt_Vector said:

Oh no the killer in a game about killing people killed people.

How edgy of you. Sorry, but you're probably one of those killers who do this.

The game is about killing people on hook, not bleeding out for zero reason on the floor.

It's players like this that ruin events for everyone and you can't quit because of the DC penalty. If this stuff happens, you should 100% get a free DC without penalty (4 slugs on floor = free DC).

  • Man, I can already see the outcry if the devs ever decide to nerf aura perks to token based perks and as bad as they did with distortion.

Like, lethal persuar only activates 4 times in a match after getting an aura read on someone

Or NTH only has one token and gets a token when 30% of a gen that got kicked got repaired again, with a maximum of 2 tokens.

Predator only activates once with each survivor after losing a chase. So if someone takes a bodyhit and escaped the chase when the killer was carrying someone, your token would be lost forever.

I mean, if we can gut Distortion with how it is now, I feel every aura perk killers have in their arsenal must be met with the same hammer.

On a side not, nothing to do with the discussion in this thread, I also hate the fact they nerfed distortion into oblivion in the 8.3 patch, but yet bring in another aura read perk when a survivor dropped a pallet…

  • I switched Distortion for the pebble perk. It's nice to see a killer using their 4000 aura perks to try to track you, just to get send into the wrong direction because I threw a pebble in the other direction 🤣

  • Looks like they found the next perk to blame everything on. WOO is fine as is.

The crybabies already destroyed Distortion, leave the rest of the perks alone. Nothing is problematic at the moment.

    Endgame camping is the problem.

I have always been extremely against it. I refuse to do it as killer, and I hate seeing it as survivor.

It is something that I don't think should have ever been normalized.

I get your point of view, but the game is already over at that point so I personally don't mind camping during endgame. After the gates are powered, all gloves come off imo.

  • My guess is that they nerf it the way most people want: recharge during chase. Which is a bad idea, since that is basicly saying you need to give a hook state for free to the killer. Because, yes, you will go down eventually during a chase.

  • They should extent the mode with at least a week. At this rate, I can not complete all the challenges since I can't play this game more than 2 hours each day, sometimes even less.

So, pick up the item and do that. But if we are balancing the game around "Average solo queue teammates" then when does nurse get buffs considering she has one of the lowest kill rates in the game? or are we only allowed to balance for average "survivor" players but when it comes to killer balance it has to be "top tier" players?

I never said that we must balance the game around average soloQ players. Don't put words in my mouth I didn't say. I just said that a lot of players (mostly soloQ) don't know what most killer perks do and you can't expect people to know every counter to every perk.

I also don't get why you have to put in a random killer in your reply to me, I didn't even mention that killer or any killer.

  • To farm points with him, I use this perks: Disstressing, Beast of Prey, Enduring and personally Lightborn (but that is just because I can't stand the blinding screen). Before Lightborn I used Brutal strength.

Be sure to shock them first and then hit them for the 500 BP score event when you hit them. Without disstressing it's 250 points and 300 hit points. Beast of prey speaks for itself, just chase them.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/419544/still-no-plans-to-nerf-weave-attunement

    1. Start the match with an item
    2. Killer hits you, and your item drops.
    3. You get the debuff indicating that the killer has weave.
    4. Run out of range of the item
    5. Get downed after a chase or escape
    6. Go back to your item when it is safe
    7. Pick up the item.
    8. Spend 5 seconds and run to a nearby corner of the map
    9. Press R
    10. The killer now has 2 perks

Why is this so hard for you?

To be honest, you can't expect your fellow soloQ teammates to know that. I bet most probably don't know like what 50% of the killers perks do.

  • If you could at least DM a mod personally, he wouldn't even need to make this thread to mark a mod. But you can't DM a mod so I get why he did make this post.

  • I hope they will go out this event with a huge BP gift next week, but I doubt it though. Still nice to get 250k BP.

  • @Firellius

I want to compliment you on your civil discussion. You really won this argument against him

  • None on survivor side. I learned my lesson a few years ago with all the sweaty killer players.

On killer side, I don't know. When I feel like it, I will burn one or when I'm in dire need of points to get something/prestige someone.

  • You're welcome. I don't kill if I can avoid it and hopefully get everyone to get at least like 40k points in the scoreboard. I know it really sucks to be on the receiving end of getting almost nothing because most killers sweat like never before.

  • @Krazzik said:

This event is what finally got me to give up caring about solo queue. The games have just been garbage constantly. I now only focus on getting my archives done as quickly as possible and if that means screwing over my teammates, so be it. I wanna get the event done so I can stop playing.

I feel you. Survivor is really abysmal to play. I normally play like 50-50, but this event I just stick to killer with challenges if I can. It's an absolute sweatfest from killers. It wasn't like that last year, maybe the occasional sweat, but this year I can fill an ocean with all the sweat killers bring.

When I play killer, I just play for 8 hooks and if there's time after that, I just let everyone stun me and get points. I hope to be a little shining light in the darkness that most killers bring in this event.

It got to the point that I probably give up on the finish x amount of generators. Me and my team most of the time get only 1 gen done and I'm nowhere near that one that's getting completed too.

  • The anti facecamp doesn't work now and then. Sometimes the killer is really close to the hook, nobody in chase and the meter still didn't go up. Not even when he was literally in my face. Really weird.

  • I agree that soloQ has a rough time. I switched to killer after getting 5 sweatlords back to back, while the most gens we did was 1 with my other teammates (who also were very decent, it was not that. Killers just sweat A LOT during the event). I'm not buring any BP offerings as survivor this event anymore.

When I switched to killer, my games were much better. I let everyone live with 8 hooks. We all got away with a lot of points. I hope I'm a small shining light for other people during this event, going for 8 hooks and farm a bit so everyone can get a lot of points.

  • At least you can get the cosmetics with the other way, not only with community challenges. I also think most people are just doing the other challenges first and then the community one.

But I agree its going really slow.

  • Ah yes, the yearly "If you don't bring any offering, you should not be able to feed off mine" thread.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

When will the event end? Does anyone know?

    July 4th I believe

  • Not to be rude or anything, but they clearly stated from the start that cosmetics CAN appear in the store at least 6 months after the rift is closed. So you could know that would be the case.

  • Ah yes, I hate that as well.

Or survivors who are "looping" the killer around the hook when you're on it 😡

Just because the killer knows where the survivors are doesn't mean he gets them.

I didn't say that. But it makes it a lot easier.

  • Oh, first time I saw this haha. Never mind then! 🤣

  • No, it's not dying. But the last patch made the game take a hit in players, a lot of players are experiencing bugs or lag. I'm certain they will patch out most of it eventually.

And I think the anniversary event will make some players come back as well.

DH is FAR from nerfed into the ground and MFT got a well deserved requirement for a powerful effect. Distortion most of the time only enforces the idea for the killer to camp/tunnel because on average I find distortion users to just immerse most of the match whenever they hear a hint of terror radius. Distortion also supplies information like if the killer has I'm all Ears, Lethal or BBQ. And the very small requirement of being in a terror radius to recharge stacks…. It's so wide spread that killers that want to use aura reading just really can't because 2/4 survivor run a perk that actively COUNTERS 80+ aura reading addons/perks.

The perk is just plain overtuned. Move the requirement to get tokens back to chase time instead of incentivizing immersing inside a terror radius or hell make it start with 0 stacks.

Having distortion recharge during chase is a terrible idea. That's basicly saying the killer is entitled to a free down/hook on you in a game of hide and seek, because you will eventually go down during a chase most of the time.

If anything, make distortion regain tokens by progressing the game. Like gens, healing, cleansing/blessing totems and maybe chase as well. But not only chase as a requirement to regain stacks.

But personally, I don't think distortion needs a nerf, at all.

EDIT: And I personally think that playing stealthy is also a legit strategy inside this game. Just like it is a legit strategy to camp or tunnel. We can make all gameplay styles just like one way to play the game, but then the game will go dull and people will leave the game.

  • @Blueberry said:

Distortion is unhealthy design in its current state. We want to encourage killers away from just stacking 4 slow downs but Distortions existence encourages it. It reduces the perk diversity we currently have which is already very low as it is.

Think of it this way. What if killers had a perk that just 100% turned off all Exhaustion perks? Is that fine? Like the logic most people are using to defend Distortion, well if the survivors don't bring an Exhaustion perk then the killers perk is a wasted slot as well now so it's totally fine right? See how that logic doesn't go both ways?

No one would be okay with a killer perk that 100% turned off Exhaustion perks, but are totally fine with a survivor perk that 100% turns off Aura perks.

Killers have like 30 aura perks and add-ons combined. We can also ask the question, is it fine that killers can slap on 4 aura perks and know where survivors are like 80% of the time? No, that isn't fine.

If survivors bring distortion and you're not bringing aura perks, it's also a wasted perk slot for the survivors the whole round. So your argument doesn't mean anything.

If I get a plague when running a full healing build, I'm basicly perkless the entire round because I can't heal puked on survivors or myself. Shall I have the chance to change my perks ingame when I see a plague? No, that would be ridiculous. So is nerfing distortion because it counters aura reading perks.

I knew Distortion is quite common nowadays, so that's why I also brought Gearhead to hopefully burn through all the stacks.

But guessed what, it was a map of Hawkins, and I only saw the Auras THREE TIMES in the entire game. Both of them were Claudette, so I was forced to tunnel her out.

So here comes the question. Isn't Distortion a little bit too strong? Three of my perks get denied by a single Survivor perk, just like that.

PS: I kinda hate slowdown perks, so I always go for perks that provide information. But if that information can be denied this easily, it really does make sense why every Killer goes for Slowdown perks :(

Distortion is not OP at all. Just because you chose to use 3 aura perks, and survivors chose to use distortion to counter it (because, let's face it, at least 1 or 2 aura perks are in killers builds nowadays), doesn't make the perk OP.

DbD is like a game of chess, everyone places their pieces on the board. Some trials I can't use my items or perks because of the killers loadout, sometimes its the other way around. It's the nature of the game. We can nerf everything that is inconvienent for the other side, but what game do we have after everything is made useless?

I don't use any aura perks myself, and I don't have any trouble finding people. But when I do use aura perks, because of the killer adept, I still don't have trouble finding people. It's called game sense. But maybe some people (not saying you are!) just want to slap on 4 aura perks and have the game handed to them, because they know where survivors are 80% of the time.

And posting an achievement screenshot with 1 out of 20 hits above 24 meters doesn't prove anything. You can still be a good huntress without long range shots.

Bloodpoints are the weekly gift?? Thats downright dissapointing

Well, I like the BP gifts. I always say yes to some extra BP.

And it's not even out for one week and you already complain, nice.

  • Thanks as always <3

  • I personally don't have time to play a lot anymore, since my personal life has changed. I can only play 3-4 days a week for a about a hour. So that's with one killer game, like 4-5 games a night.

I will think about it, thanks for the answers.

  • People who wait out the full EGC timer at the exit gates. Yeah, I know you won (most of the time I even let you win because I have 8 hooks and/or am done with my challenge or daily). Why waste my time to rub in your "win"?

People calling for distortion nerfs while the perk is fine as is.

  • Still way too overpriced, imo.

Older skins should get reduced in price after one or two years.

  • In EU west it's maybe 75% tryhards and 25% chill killers.

But there are days I have 0 fun because all my games I could play, like 10 to 15, have sweatlords every round.

But I also feel the game is way more competitive since they introduced MMR. That was the death to really casual plays.

  • For as long as I play this game, I saw maybe once an iridiscent shards skin sale, but I could be wrong. There are times the skins go on sale for a brief period, and only some from a collection. But those are never iridiscent shards sales.

Last time we had a sale is already a long time ago, if I think about it.

    Yes, I agree completely.

BBQ alone was the best perk they've ever designed, and there was no reason to change it. Same with WGLF, of course.

I agree. I get why they removed it, because of the matchmaking incentive. But when you want to play killer, it sucks when the incentive is not in your favor. You get nothing then. With BBQ you at least could get 100% BP for the match.

I would be okay if they made an universal BP perk for survivor and killer, without ANY benefit. I believe the main reason BBQ was complained about, was the aura reading (when in fact, most killers run that perk because of the BP and the aura reading was a nice bonus). I would play killer with 3 perks if I could get 100% BP in the end with the universal perk.

I agree. Survivor BP is abysmal, especially since they nerfed prove thyself with the removal of the BP bonus. Even when you had a ######### round, you still could max out objective BP and feel a bit less sad about the bad game.
