I think the "bring BPS and get tunnelled" excuse is bunk. You can't know when you're going to have a bad game versus a good game, and what else are you going to use the BPS for? You have to use it at some point, and that point will always be a coin flip. Some BP is better than no BP.

The only valid excuses are saving it to play with friends rather than randoms, or because you want the benefit of a different offering.

Withholding them because you don't want other players benefitting from 'your' BP is petty and sad, and a fallacy. You're cutting off your nose to spite your face.

That said... there is no benefit to running BPS during this event.

    BPS don't multiply event bonuses.

Say you scored 20K from base scores, 30K in event scores, then the +400% turns this into 250K BP.

The BPS just multiply your base 20K and bump it up to 270K total.

Literally no more profitable than running outside of the event to turn a 20K game into 40K.

So bring BPS if you want to, don't complain about other's not bringing BPS, and don't be vindictive and territorial over 'your' BP offerings.

Sure, you may think the bring BPS and get tunnelled is bunk. But you can't know everyone their experience. 9 out of 10 times when I brought a BPS in as survivor, the killer was a complete sweatlord. Sure, he can play that way, but why should I take a risk from those experiences to bring a BPS and gain almost nothing from it.

It would be nice if you can burn one in the aftergame, if the match was great and you want to reward everyone. Might take some pressure off some killers as well, to be a complete sweatlord when they see a BPS is being burned by the survivors.

Me as a killer, I always play super chill when someone burned a BPS (because of my experiences in the past). Just want to be a shining light in this dark world that is called DBD. And most of the time I was met with great appreciation from the survivor(s) who burned them, because they had similair experiences in the past like me when they burned BPS.

  • You can blame the killers who tunneled me out when I always used a BPS or Anni-cake. Since then I made a promise to myself to never burn any of those when playing survivor.

  • Thanks as always <3

  • I've never used party streamers as survivor. They're bad luck for me.

Especially during events, I never burn any BP offering. I always get ######### games during events.

  • Year 1 to 4. After that the game was changed a lot.

Especially after MMR added and patch 6.1.0 with the mayor perk overhaul, they killed the game for me. I still play for the rifts, but I see myself playing less and less nowadays. Probably a bit burned out on it as well, but it began after MMR and the perk overhaul.

I don't care how unbalanced it was back then, I could manage myself just fine with both killer and survivor.

  • Not at the moment, I'm afraid. Maybe when the new chapter drops we get some points.

I'm fine with players running full aura builds. As long as they aren't telling BHVR to nerf it's counterplay, that being Distortion.

    100% agreed.

  • But that still doesn't make it a overpowered perk.

The game becomes a mess because of players who force their hook states onto others, then watch them die and scream, "It's the killer's fault."

Everyone should share the hook states, and it would be interesting to see the involvement of a game system that tries to reduce the number of early dropouts.

But killers are not entitled to free hook states, when you run distortion. I sure will trade hook states, because I don't play scared. But I find the fact that the killers knows exactly where you are all the time (when running 4 aura perks), also bullshit. I think a counter to that as not much to ask.

Of course there are people who play stealth, but there is nothing wrong with that too. When I play killer, I have no problem finding people who run distortion. When running aura perks as killer myself, sure, it's a bit harder, but they're not immune to you as killer.

  • I think licences will also be a factor why they can't do this. If they make a DBD 2, they likely need to renew the licences and it's the question if the holders will cooperate again.

  • @Caiman said:

I hope so. The number of survivors who slap this perk on and run from pallet to pallet to pallet in an endless chain creates some of the dullest and most obnoxious experiences in this game.

But they will run out of pallets eventually if you break them immediately. Then they have almost no resources left outside of a few windows.

We could collectively run Visionary, and people would ask for the perks head.

    it does this:

you see generators auras within 32 meters. Anytime a generator is completed, visionary is disabled for 16 seconds.

people would swear it’s god tier, and come up with some Albert Einstein equation on how it’s saving survivor 12 mins collectively from looking for gens. Bc if you add in this and that like some worst case contingency plan visionary basically powers the exit gates for survivors or some thing. I can hear it now.

I like this post hahaha, it really sums up the complaining that is so prevalent these days. And the worst part is, the devs will most likely listen to this complains and nerf perks because of that when there is no reason to.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

    Well, probably.

Survivors are getting garbage perks with chapters. Gabriel was the last survivor with decent perks. And old survivors perks are getting nerfs if they are useful. And then we are getting some joke buffs like Quick Gambit which is still garbage perk btw.

After Adrenaline, FTP + BU and Background Player nerfed, probably WoO will be next. I am already seeing people are complaining about it.

Personally, I see distortion getting nerfed sooner, since there is so much complaining about this perk out of nowhere since MFT and dead hard are nerfed.

And it kinda grinds my gears that when one perk gets nerfed (yes, I know MFT was kinda busted), the focus is already on another perk that is totally fine (especially when aura reading is quite meta nowadays).

The moment distortion is getting nerfed that it only recharges in chase (which is bs to me, since the killer gets the hook state for free at some point because you will get caught eventually), I will quit playing survivor almost entirely outside of challenges or dailies. Maybe I will drop the game as well, because every perk will be on the chopping block eventually.

  • I don't think your perks are crutches. But in MY opinion it's always better to run just 1-2 aura perks, so you don't rely entirely on your build. And it also leaves room for other perks so if your build gets countered (which is totally fine), you only get countered for 1-2 perks instead of your whole build.

The same can be said about running 4 gen perks.

But you can play however you want, as long it's not a bannable offense.

  • I think I know what I will do this weekend, haha.

  • Thanks as always <3

  • That's really a nice chunk of BP. Hope they will do those way more often :)

Not a fan. I will do the challenges and never touch it again. Matches go on forever. They are tedious and the compensation isn't enough to justify playing it more than you need to. Things like instadown killers also make it frustrating. They just roll up on you with no warning and there isn't much you can do. I personally don't think killers like Billy, Bubba, etc should be available in a mode where you have zero warning that the killer is coming.

You can do the challenges in normal matches as well. So you can do that (maybe before it gets patched?)

  • Well, got already a sweatlord with my first match. So much fun.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

    Rewards are so meh.

I like the rift fragments tbh. I don't have a lot of free time to spare on this game, so every fragment I can get, is nice.

  • Haven't seen any increase for the past couple of days, if I'm fair.

  • Thanks for testing it out. Was thinking about getting one some day, but when I can't play this game on it, then I will get it much later.

  • Nice, hope we get all the prices! :D

  • Distortion is fine the way it is. As long as there are so many aura perks in the game, distortion if fine.

  • Don't worry, they'll come for you when other things are getting nerfed because of complaints.

  • If they nerf Distortion, they should also nerf the aura reading perks/add ons for killers.

It's no fun going against a full aura read killer as well.

But I think distortion is completely fine the way it is now. Most of the time it's a dead perk slot for me anyways because the killer isn't running any aura reading perk or add on.

  • I don't know if this is an option for you, but I will share it anyway.

Maybe you can make a new account where you can play on if you're burned out of your main account and/or completed everything.

I did that a while back on ps5 as well and my games are very different on my main than on my other account.

Since there is an event going on, you get some good BP to level up some killers or survivors and you also progress in the rift for some BP.

Maybe it's not for you, but you can always consider it.

To be more secure, you can also make your account as anonymous as you possibly can, with a completely different name than your main.

Hopefully you can get better games in the future on your main account.

I have been tunnelling out distortion users lately because I know if I leave them last theyre going to hide and be much harder to find, sneak around and do what you said.

    Sad.

  • @Rudjohns said:

I swear, if Distortion gets nerfed because of all this childish whining I will stop playing this game

    And I rarely use Distortion

    100% the same.

  • Distortion is fine.

  • I believe you get around 22k shards for one cycle of devotion. That's nearly enough to buy ONE purple skin. ONE.

Not to mention the ultra rare skins from Trapper, Doctor, Huntress and more.

  • Well, that is a celebration code! Thanks so much. Hopefully they will add more of these in the future.

  • Finally some new BP codes. Took them awhile.

  • Started in August 2016. First on PC and when the game got out on PS4, I switched mostly to console to play with my friend.

  • Yeah, way to kill off the hype for this event.

This event sucks. I'm just going to do the tome challenges and won't burn a single offering as long as they don't fix it.

  • @NomiNomad said:

Just bad luck. I'm pretty sure the only failsafe the perk has is not letting the same effect happen twice in a row.

That's not true. I got haste bonus 5 out of 8 times. The other one was a scream. Twice I got exposed.

  • Haven't got a single item with it in 2 rounds activating it a few times.

  • Yeah, I'm in the same boat. The game is going in a direction that I don't really like tbh. Now perks get their BP bonus removed one by one, and you get nothing in return for it, that is just bad. I mean, the BP gain on survivor side is abysmal, even with the 100% bonus on it for the role you play.

  • Sometimes I think they just don't want people to play their game haha xD

  • The skin is still cheaper when you buy it with the chapter. 5 euro for the DLC and 5 euro for a skin. In the ingame store the skin costs 10 euro.

But I agree that it is a bit strange.

  • Yeah, I agree. At least give us the option to use which one we want.

  • Great, another patch that broke something.

Thanks for the heads up, I will update the game and don't bother with playing it :)

  • Yeah some shady stuff is happening sometimes in the game. For example, the Killer knowing exactly in which locker you are in the middle of nowhere without him having one single aura perk (and being in the locker before BBQ could come into play).

Also, the most shady stuff happens always with PC gamers, making it more paranoid tbh. You can tell because they're having a name only on PC you can make them.

The most funny subtle cheater I encountered was a Renato with a year 6 flan. That's totally impossible haha.

  • I would take 10 farming killers over 1 sweatlord. The amount of people trying to ruin the event for you as survivor is ridiculous (but I must say, during specific hours it is better).

I refuse to use any Terrormisu as survivor. As killer I have it somewhat more in my hands how the match goes.

  • I don't think they will ever release cross-progression. I just wish they never had mentioned it as well.

  • Thank you!

I didn't know for sure so I appreciate your answer :)

"Straight pride" was never a thing up until gay pride. "Straight pride" is never used to express joy and celebrate your own identity, but instead it's used as a weapon against marginalised communities whenever they attempt to do so. "Straight pride" was never societally needed, because heterosexuals aren't discriminated against throughout the world (legally and socially). "Straight pride" isn't a real thing, it's just an excuse for the majority to cram their way into a celebration of a minority, only to then remove them from the inside. "Straight pride" is literally this comic exactly.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LNVR7BMACQZZ/image.png

"Straight pride" only exists because some people couldn't stand to be excluded from a community made to celebrate the aspects of society the same people would shun them for.

"Straight pride" is not a thing.

Thank you for your kind response. I'm not very educated at this matter, since I don't put much weight on someones sexuality. I treat everyone with respect and kindness if people return that to me as well. Everyone can be the person they want to be, in my eyes.

My humble thought process was, since I saw all those flags, "why is there no flag for heterosexual people". My question was never meant to take anything away from anyone, that's why I said in my first sentence that I didn't want to offend anyone.

  • Yeah, I don't get that as well. Double XP is way better than 1.5x BP.

  • Hope he finds his rest now without this terrible ALS. Rest in peace.

  • Sorry if I offend anyone, it's not my goal or something. I just wanted to know something. I also want you to know I have trouble expressing myself in English, since it's not my first language.

With all the pride things promoting inclusivity that's absolutely fine by me. But since every sexuality gets a flag, why is there no heterosexual flag? I mean, isn't the goal of inclusivity for all that everyone is included? Why exclude one sexuality?
