  • The game does a fantastic job of capturing the spooky atmosphere and suspense from the original Halloween movie πŸŽƒ πŸ”ͺ and includes John Carpenter's iconic soundtrack (Laurie's theme, chase music, and main theme). I'm really enjoying it but the game is completely different than Dead by Daylight. Its slower paced with a lot of skill checks and looting. As a Civilian (Survivor) you need to loot for items and concentrate on freeing NPCs. Its a great game for Halloween fans but with only one Killer and a few slight variations of the same map, I'm not certain how long it will last. Definitely not a replacement for DBD (thankfully πŸ™) but its a good supplement, especially this time of year.

Surely nobody is crouching enough in a Jason match to actually be getting crows?

You don't crouch all the time, you only crouch if you need to avoid him finding you at that moment. If you're in a solid position and the gen you're doing isn't as important comparatively, you wouldn't even bother letting go of that gen at all, just let him see you.

I think some people have got it in their heads the only way to counter Jason is to make sure he never sees you at all, but that's not really how it works. You CAN make sure he doesn't see you, IF you need the heat to be on someone else (injured on death hook, doing an important central gen, etc).

I thought his power reveals Survivors not moving as well. I try to counter both by spin crouching which is "movement" to avoid AFK crows but not enough to make footprints. I haven't confirmed whether my aura shows up anyway though.

Theres a particular few id love to see but have been mostly forgotten by everyone these days.

Dino Crisis : Resident evil's dinosaur variant thats been locked away since the first xbox, but seems to still have a fanbase hoping for capcom to revive the series either with remakes or a reboot. Has less characters than resident evil but the main heroine Regina is certainly a popular choice for a survivor, enough so that itd fit even as a survivor only chapter, if dinosaurs were being held off for jurassic park or something.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BLBNXMVJ1TYX/dinocrisis.jpg

Turok : started out as comics, about native americans fighting dinosaurs/aliens/mutants etc with futuristic weapons and traveling through time. More about a specific native appointed as a kind of hero of sorts, the position being called Turok. On nintendo 64 they created one of the most brutal, gory horror shooters at the time in an entire trilogy for n64. Mostly known for its very unique guns and weapons like the Cerebral Bore (fires a homing projectile that drills into your head and explodes). It has a rather interesting cast of native characters particularly in turok 3, which could fit dbd well. With many monsters/dinosaurs etc to choose for a killer.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/S2CA71PSKYGU/turok-3-artwork.jpg

The X-Files : everyones heard of Supernatural, but they were clearly inspired by the X-Files. Not many survivors to choose from but theres 2 main characters as it is a show entirely about a duo of fbi agents trying to solve supernatural cases that were never finnished before. Agents Dana Skully (she believes in all things practical and doesn't believe in supernatural things) and Fox Mulder (who had firsthand experience of the supernatural at a young age and believes firmly in the supernatural) they would certainly fit well in dbd, as theyve also alredy had their own survival horror game back in the day on ps2. Basically the show was like a giant set of mini horror movies sometimes even taking inspiration from other movies like The Thing.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/GQ0FIB7WXWP3/91uxiwycaal-ac-uf894-2c1000-ql80.jpg

X-COM : one of the most brutal horror themed squad based tactics games. It took the old "grey big eyed martians taking over the world" thing and twisted it into a realistic horror game where there are no main characters because people die so easily in that series. You create your own base and elite squad much like a swat team, and shoot down U.F.Os, then secure the crash sights, mostly with aliens still alive and hiding amongst the wreckage where you have to hunt them down without any knowledge of what they are capable of, where they are, or even what they are. My favorite in the series was xcom: terror from the deep. Most seemed to find its idea funny rather than scary but it involved hunting the aliens in shot down ufos, at the bottom of the ocean. So just imagine having to walk at the bottom of the ocean, in pitch blacn darkness, hunting aliens that can see in the dark, breathe underwater, and are equipped with high tech weapons quite easily able to puncture your high pressure suit. And all you got is a harpoon gun. Seemed pretty intimidating to me. They could fit into dbd as original made survivors much like aestri and baemar with dnd, with a host of alien monsters to choose from.

Its not because of map offerings that you have same maps more because of devs each week or month or in what time window they do it boosting some maps so they have 100% more chance to be chosen than all other maps like all have 3% chance or something like this 2,75% and 6 chosen maps have 6% chance thats why people get maps like the game or badham, nostromo because they are boosted maps and have higher chance to be picked.

With map offerings being 100% I had as killer and survivor just 6-8 most survivor sided maps all the time because in every game there was one guy that used some offering like for erie, badham, the game, garden of joy etc.

The difference is when you had the player base using map offerings, there was always the ability to counter or prevent the map in the next match. Now you are guaranteed to get those 6 - 8 "Survivor-sided" maps with no ability to prevent them. I used Map Offerings - specifically Midwich and RPD - in every match as both Killer and Survivor. I enjoy playing on those maps regardless of what side I was on. But I rarely had more than 2 at a time and other players would sometimes counter or block my map offerings. I just think the previous system was such a great feature to have in the game, especially for those of us with 4,000+ hours that have nothing to spend Bloodpoints on besides Map Offerings and the choice to select the maps we really enjoy spending our time on. If Behaviour wants to continue this "Random" feature, at least tell everyone in the lobby what the next map will be so we can choose to leave and try another server before the match starts. Or implement the "Featured Map" dedicated server that they tried out a few months ago. That would make everyone happy.

this is the first game i personally seen where i cannot play what i wanna play, map offerings should be at least 50% at worse case scenario and should stack, and black ward shouldve been a purple addon, but it would be better to make new purple addon and make it into the same effect of black ward while making blackward into something else since people got thousands of those already since they are brown addon and easily farmable, maps overall are small, loops are small(not talking about the new trickster map), there is no reason to fear maps in dbd, 3gen spawns are even closer than before. people just coping about map offerings, instead of blaming their skillset they blame the maps, year i get it some killers have bad maps but thats not a good reason to shut down map offerings and turn them into 20% chance and non stackable, i stopped using maps because i had times where i spend 15 games with the map offerings until i even got my desired map which makes no sense.

Exactly. BHVR took away the only free choice the player base had in Map Offerings and shifted to their 100% Map Offerings on the same worst maps in the game! At least when the player base could choose, there were always methods to counter with another map offering or anti-map offering add-on. Now we have no choice or any method of map selection and are subject to a cycle of constant Autohaven and corn map Hell!

It's no question I think the mass majority of the community loves pre-rework myers as he was just more fun to play. Post rework especially now with the elusive perks he has fallen way down the tier list in my opinion, especially scratched mirror myers, he feels so bad to play not to mention there is only two add-ons designed to work with scratched mirror myers which is the 4.4ms boost and increased pools of blood/scratch marks. I am currently about to run a couple of games without the 4.4ms boost to see how it negatively impacts him, I don't expect myself to have any fun at all tbh. In all honestly losing the minor speed boost probably isn't worth it.

With the addition of elusive Scratched mirror myers is now virtually useless given his negative speed and unbelievably low lunge distance, yes you can use haste perks like PWYF but you're giving up gen progress in order to get it and most other haste perks require very specific conditions usually completion of a gen or chasing an obsession on top of the fact that gens are just absurdly fast normally but you REALLY feel it with this character. I honestly use to love pre-rework myers specifically for jump scaring survivors but I rarely get the opportunity to do so now. With the new map addition I thought this would be the perfect map for him but I barely got a kill with him and managed to get a second kill due to survivor error at the very last second. One of the biggest issues is speed and survivors being able to see you even a couple seconds ahead of time and pre-run, if they have sprint burst/lithe or even the minor 3% haste from the boon perk, forget about it, the chase is over before it begins.

So with the rant out of the way I'd like to ask your opinions on how you other myers mains play scratched mirror and give any tips on how to better my experience while trying to utilize this kit. I honestly don't care for slaughtering strike but it is 99% of his entire build now so I just opt to not use him for the majority of the time, the times I do use him is when I'm trying to fill that void of what he use to be but am ultimately let down every time I decide to do so. I and many others wish the devs didn't feel the need to nerf/rework him because what made him unique is just completely gone now. No offense to certain commenters but I don't need the comments about how you can use his new add-on to expose survivors to make him feel like old myers, it honestly just isn't the same.

I was totally fine only getting 2 kills with old myers against good teams or sometimes no kills at all because there were other games where I could actually 4k or destroy toxic players once you finally reached level 3 but this new update just doesn't hit and I've been trying for awhile now. With all the other changes the killer experience in my experience has degraded quite a lot from when I started playing a short time ago. I often sit on the title screen debating which killer I'd like to use but often opt out and choose survivor because the killer experience feels vastly similar whereas before each killer felt unique in their own way, below is a picture of the only killers I have left to purchase but can't bring myself to make the purchase because at this point it'd honestly make more sense to invest in survivor perks with how bland the killer experience has become and on that note the survivor role gets extremely dull fast so even contemplating the decision to invest in survivor perks doesn't hold much merit because I just don't enjoy the survivor role as much as I did the killer role.

Now I'm stuck in a place where I don't feel like I'm having fun very often and am often sitting afk at the lobby. Perhaps it's time I move on to another game but it's a shame because before all these reworks the game actually left me wanting to come back for more despite having some bad experiences here and there, now it's just a consistently frustrating experience leaving me feeling like my time would be better spent somewhere else, not trying to trash the game just trying to give feedback on how my experience has shifted with these recent updates.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2LY5L58UXS6I/image.png

Scratched Mirror πŸ”Ž Myers main here and the changes I notice the most are the swap out of the lunge range with the 8 meter Stalking range on the BM add-on. Also the reduced speed - I'm getting utterly destroyed on the new map even with all the walls and increased Stalking range. The map is just too big and this new Myers is too slow to cover any ground. And since BHVR destroyed the one great feature of DBD in Map Offerings, I now cycle through matches hoping to land on a Midwich or RPD map. Myers is absolutely worthless on most of the maps as he relies on stealth that can only be achieved through indoor maps. I have the same issue with my secondary Killer - Amanda's Letter Pig πŸ½β€” which is essentially a Scratched Mirror Myers with reduced aura range but a speed burst in her charge attack. BHVR needs to implement the "Featured Maps" server from several months ago as that played the same map for 3 days on a separate server. I could just wait for Midwich and RPD to be featured and then play Ninja Myers constantly. Now I just have to "go next" for most matches by hiding in the basement and allowing the Survivors to farm Bloodpoints. 😫

  • πŸ‘ŽοΈ No second floor or elevated platform? Why!!? They had a perfect opportunity to make a vault down to the dance floor but everything is closed off. Now my favorite perk - Balanced Landing - is completely useless in one of the very few maps without any elevation. I actually like the design of the map if only they had just put in a drop somewhere. Ridiculous!

  • @indieeden7 said:

Midwich is one of my favourite maps to play on as survivor...when the pallets actually spawn. And them not spawning has been an issue for a while now, has this problem been acknowledged by the devs? Or are we just going to have to settle for 2 pallets per quarter of the map for the foreseeable future?

πŸ‘οΈ Nice to see a fellow Midwich map lover. There are so few of us in DBD, we have to stick together.

  • Trapper is one of my favorite Killers but he is add-on and map dependent. With πŸ“ Honing Stone and ⛓️Bloody Coil you are nearly guaranteed to get hooks. Unless you are on a large map like Red Forest. Trapper excels on indoor maps - Midwich and RPD especially.

    ⬆️ This!

  • @Alen_Starkly said:

Why would anyone ever use a map offering now? 20% chance of success, when you could be using a Bloodpoint offering instead. But wait, it's not even 20%. If another player puts down a map offering, your chances are even lower. If a player uses Sac Ward (which at this point should be removed), you have 0% of success.

After the FNAF map queue is gone, if you're a FNAF enthusiast, and want to go to that map, guess what:

    1. good luck with no-one else using a map offering or a sac ward
    2. then good luck with those 20%
    3. and then even if your ofering (Withered Isle) does work, you still are not guaranteed the FNAF map, because you have 33% chance to get it, instead of Greenville Square, or Garden of Joy
    4. If you are a new player, and a FNAF fan for example, good luck amassing the Withered Isle offerings into your inventory in the first place. You would need a LOT of bloodpoints and a lot of luck

The most decent thing imo would be to put the map offering success rate to 50%. And sac wards should decrease the success rate of all map offerings, not completely counter them, since map offerings no longer guarantee anything.

This is a perfect example of a minority of Snowflakes crying about Map Offerings and some new BHVR intern dev listened and decided to nerf them down to 20%. The fact is Map Offerings were a great feature of the game and could easily be countered by another Map Offering or Sac Ward. There was absolutely no reason to nerf them but the devs ran all over the timeline. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

Speaking as someone who had to deal with a Autohaven, Midwich, or Eyrie offering almost every other match prior to the nerf, you're going to have to forgive me for not being sympathetic whatsoever.

They 100% provided a gameplay advantage by virtue of maps being unbalanced and some being heavily favoured to one side, pretending otherwise is wilful ignorance at best.

BHVR didn't go far enough by making them only 20%, they should have been removed in their entirety.

Its a skill issue if a player blames a particular map for a loss. I've escaped many Killer-sided maps as Survivor and I've gotten many 4Ks as Killer on Survivor-sided maps. It depends on the skill of your teammates and the Killer and the add-ons rather than the map. Arguing that a map caused you to lose a match is nothing but a cop out.

That's a silly reason tbh. If many people had their way, Map Offerings would be removed entirely as all it does is attempt to set the match in one sides favor. Maps should always be random.

I don't know how any maps in the game give an advantage to one side or the other. There are so-called "Killer-sided" and "Survivor-sided" maps but that doesn't mean you can't escape from a "Killer-sided" map or get a 4K on a "Survivor-sided" map. In fact, I love playing RPD and Midwich as both Survivor and Killer and thats what I spent my Bloodpoints on trying to obtain. All map offerings do is allow players to play in environments that they enjoy. Theres absolutely no reason to remove them from the game.

  • @Triplehoo said:

No. Map offerings should go entirely. Or change them so, that it increases the chances of NOT getting that specific realm on the next match

Strongly disagree. Map offerings are the only good feature keeping me playing after 3,000+ hours. What is the purpose of Bloodpoints after this many hours? I just played 8 matches in a row where my map offerings were rejected in all of them. I ended up getting sent to Backwater Swamp twice, Autohaven, Dead Sands, and corn maps! I hated it - even escaped as Survivor several matches but still didn't have fun on those maps. If you take away map offerings, then at least offer a dedicated server that runs a short map rotation that players can choose to play on.

Map offerings have always been a problem. The only legitimate use I've ever seen has been Scratched Mirror. Unfortunately too many people abused map offerings to give themselves the advantage.

The point of map offerings is to allow players to play on maps they enjoy. There are no maps in the game that guarantee a win for Killers or Survivors and I played hours of RPD and Midwich with my best Killer main and Survivor main, yet still lost many matches. But I had much more fun playing the maps that I like rather than being randomly sent to maps I hate playing on, such as Autohaven and the dreaded corn maps. There was simply no reason to remove this great feature from the game other than to make the overall experience worse for players. Shame on BHVR for such an awful decision.

  • @thighchamp said:

The new AFK-prevention is pretty god-awful, and honestly the go-next prevention feels really ambiguous and inconsistent. Not to mention the crows I got just for trying to stealth. Does anybody else share the sentiment that they'd rather not play until things get ironed out? I've never really felt, as killer or survivor, that the game has been THAT unfair/unfun in the past, but these recent changes just kindof suck.

Yes, after 3 1/2 years and nearly 4,000 hours of DBD, I'm seriously considering quitting because of the loss of map offerings. I lost 5 straight map offerings in a row as Killer and Survivor for RPD and Midwich. These took me weeks to obtain and they were all rejected due to the 20% garbage feature that BHVR added to ruin the game. I ended up getting sent to the awful corn maps and its just not fun playing without my beloved maps!

I think if a Scratched Mirror Myers burns a map offering, it should be guaranteed. Scratched Mirror does not deserve the utter destruction that comes with this map offering change.

Exactly! I main as Scratched Mirror Myers and at least I had a fighting chance with map offerings. Now I just get thrown into Mothers Dwelling and get clowned 🀑 by Survivors. Its horrible!

  • Because BHVR wanted to destroy this game. After nearly 4,000 hours I only play for map offerings with both my Killers and Survivors. I absolutely love Midwich and RPD with my Balanced Landing (Survivor) and aurora reading (Killer) perks. Now I get placed in corn maps with only a 20% chance of ever spawning into Midwich or RPD. Thank you, BHVR, for taking away the one great thing about this game.

  • After 3,200 hours the ONLY reason to earn BPs is for map offerings. Its the only "end game content" in DBD and I complete Dailies and Compendium Challenges to earn BPs for Midwich and RPD map offerings. If BHVR takes that away - or reduces the chances to 20% - then what is there to play for? This sounds like a Rockstar Games or Sony Online Entertainment tactic.

For reference, I play on PlayStation, the ps5. 3 weeks ago I noticed that whenever I open dead by daylight, it gives a number of different errors on the first login attempt. Mostly that I need a network connection or the game didn’t initialize properly and restarting should fix it. It only did it on the first try and while annoying wasn’t too bad, I assumed it was a minor bug during the holiday event.
However, shorty after I started getting blood web errors as well. Which would kick me out of the game. Now it was getting frustrating with being kicked and then having to go through the loading errors.

Now comes today, while playing my game once again bugged out. When I clicked on the killer tab in the chaos shuffle mode, it loaded the killer facing away at an angle, not typically how they’re posed and I couldn’t move them. Selecting anything didn’t work either and I had to close the game. Since then the game doesn’t load at all. Same messages as before, initialization error and no network connection. I have internet and all other games I play online work perfectly. No matter how many times I restart the game, it won’t load at all. I shut off my console, didn’t open the game for hours, changed my settings such as disabling game sharing since it also gave me a message saying I was logged in on another device, despite none of my other friends play dbd, and even deleted and redownload it to se if it fixed the issue but no luck.

I went online to see if it was a PlayStation issue, but nothing on social media points to any problems. This entire situation has me frustrated. For weeks this has been going on, hoping it was just a small issue that would fix itself. It’s only gotten worse. I hardly get to play anymore because of it and now I can’t even access the game at all. Especially now during chaos shuffle, my favorite game modifier. Has this been happening to anyone else? I need to know what’s causing the issue and if it can be fixed, because at this point I’m just about to delete the game entirely for good.

Did you ever find the fix? I'm just getting this error now on PC.

    No lullaby

If Huntress is Undetectable they still have a Lullaby. In fact, that's literally the whole point of the Lullaby mechanic, to still reveal the Killer's rough location while Undetectable.

This is precisely the problem - there was no longer a lullaby when the Huntress activated Undetectable as in the past. In fact, Undetectable wouldn't be an issue if there was still a lullaby to provide at least a general proximity. But in this game the Huntress was dead silent. I actually thought we were facing Ghost or Shape until after the first hook as there was absolutely no sound whatsoever πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

  • @Leidenschaft90 said:

    Huntress' addon Wooden Fox:

Wooden Fox needs a cooldown in my opinion, because Huntress reloads so often that she's kinda Undetectable permanently what makes it OP.

Try to loop a killer who's Undetectable all the time and can snipe you from out of nowhere. Her lullaby is a too weak indicator because it's surrounding you and doesn't tell you her exact position.

Exactly! I just got out of a match in RPD where the Huntress was nearly undetectable the entire game. No lullaby, no terror radius, no red stain. I ran into the Killer multiple times as there is diminished line of sight in RPD as well. I thought the Killer was hacking because they had no undetectable perks (running CI, Nowhere to Hide, Lethal Pursuer, Iron Maiden). Needless to say the team got wrecked. We basically faced a Scratched Mirror Myers with increased speed and a ranged attack. Thats so OP πŸ‘ŽοΈ

I'd rather someone say something silly, or say nothing at all than typing GG after a stomp. It's literally just way to be passive aggressively toxic imo. Cuz as I said, you mostly only ever see it from the winner's side. SO how would that be a GG for anyone else but the winner, on a stomp?

Its worse when the winner types "EZ" after a stomp.

Please don't rework Myers. Maybe a small tweak here and there but he is nearly perfect.

Agree with this. Just don't take away my Scratched Mirror 🍳

  • Travis Kelce Survivor πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’ with a Taylor Swift Killer πŸ”ͺ, lol.

  • I main as Scratched Mirror Myers πŸ”ͺ but only on Midwich, RPD, and the Game maps as the two-level floors allow you to see more area when stalking. The jump scares alone are worth playing SM Myers but I've gone against good Survivors / SWFs and gotten completely destroyed. It seems Survivors do better when they group repair gens (3 on a gen) or separate and each complete gens on opposite sides of the map. Myers is slow and clunky when traversing a map so I think you have to anticipate his gen rotation and position yourself to maximize space πŸƒ as soon as you get a visual πŸ‘οΈ on him.

If they're going for the unhooker every time and not tunneling I'd say they're actually being very nice.

It's just dumb to expect the killer to let you heal under hook for free.

Not sure how camping hook and hitting Survivors during the saving animation is considered nice. And nobody is healing under hook when they are already downed for attempting a save. Its just plain toxic, BM tactics.

Nah. That thing can rot on the hook.

Agreed. Us humans πŸšΆπŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ need to stick together against the Rise of the Machines πŸ€–

My favorite thing in this game. I was mainly a survivor main for a long time and played killer when I got burnt out of having bad teammates. Then I had a taste of scaring survivors with SM Myers and I got hooked. It’s the most fun thing to do in this game.

Agreed. I main as SM Myers. Once you play with Scratched Mirror 🍳 (especially in Midwich or RPD) you never go back. πŸ”ͺ

    Sole Survivor!

A growing aura protection and more or less everytime I'm the last survivor I just let the killer close hatch and I open the exit gate..free escape. Of course I pair it with Wake Up also to make it stronger. But if you think about there are many games as solo survivor where the killer win and you are the last survivor and a perk that grants you escape instead of dying that is a good perk.

Agreed! I thought I was the only one using SS, lol.

I started maining him recently and every match I've had people either DC or kill themselves on hook. Why? If his power is annoying survivors just need to stay separated and he basically has no power.

After 3 years and 2,500 hours I can honestly say that Legion is the most difficult Killer to face as Survivor. I've tried every tactic against Legion but they all fail. If you hold off mending/healing the bar drops so rapidly that you are on the ground before you know it. And playing injured means a one-hit hook. If you attempt to play keep away by running to the corner of the map, you are not repairing gens and Legion will likely detect you with the long range heart beat and fast closing speed. He/she also counters loops by quickly vaulting pallets and windows, sprinting faster than Survivors even in "sprint burst," and detecting hidden Survivors in lockers, etc.

That said, I have escaped matches against Legion but only because they were baby Killers and didn't know how to play as the Killer. I also witnessed a 4K against Legion on The Game map in under 2 minutes. I don't DC in matches because I play for the enjoyment of the game. But I'm nearly always guaranteed to de-Pip. 😱

  • The X-Files of course! πŸ‘½οΈ Would love to see Mulder and Scully (and perhaps A.D. Skinner) as Survivors! πŸ‘οΈ

  • The worst offenders are Killers who hardcore camp, proxy camp, and tunnel using Nurse or Blight after 4 hooks with 5 gens left. Its in the Killers best interest to back off and gain more Bloodpoints, Pips, Score, etc. Simply destroying a team in minutes by using all the noob techniques is pure evil, especially when you are using a top tier Killer and the game is already stacked in your favor.

  • I didn't receive it yet but I noticed that rewards are usually issued around 2 pm Eastern Standard Time. So we should be getting the 25K Bloodpoints and Badge in about 12 hours from now. β°πŸ˜€

Can’t loop? They are just an m1 killer. Lol

    They are rather weak.

Can't loop as in they vault over pallets and through windows in frenzy and outrun Survivors with ease. After 2,500 hours of gameplay, I've seen more 4K losses to Legion than any other Killer. Even using a "No Heal" counter play, a decent Legion Killer can still destroy a team.

  • 1.) Legion

    2.) Legion

    3.) Legion

Can't loop, can't hide, can't hold w, can't escape. Legion counters all Survivor tactics and nearly every match ends in a 4K loss.
