Please tell survivors to not all run to the hooked survivor at once, you guys have more than 2 brain cells, you know that only one guy is needed to unhook a survivor, you can SEE the aura of other survivors running towards the hooked survivor, WHY do you keep running the hooked survivor when you know you're not gonna get there first.
Just dumb things like this are probably why people disconnect. People just running around do nothing, or survivors getting off a gen when we were team repairing it to immediately unhook a survivor instead of finishing the gen. Guys guys guys, you DON'T have to immediately unhook people.
Healing unhooked survivors right by the hook you just got him/her off of, running in the same direction as me while we are being chased by a killer, Running towards a gen that is being repaired while being chased and seeing our auras, knowing a killer tunnels and still running in the same direction as the recently unhooked survivor, cmon guys. I don't encourage d/c'ing, but I don't encourage garbage game play behavior either.
Something about hooked survivors really turns on randoms I tell you what, solo Q is a damn nightmare. We should include this information in the required training of this game tbh.
Unfortunately, only the Survivor on the hook can see the auras of other survivors. I can't tell you how many times I have died on the first hook (even after hitting every skill check to maximize health) because the other Survivors ASSUMED that someone else would unhook me! I would much rather have all 3 Survivors come to my rescue than ignoring the save and assume another Survivor will unhook me. Although I realize this is a problem with SoloQ.

Everytime I try to run the game, it just tabs me out. I can hear the title screen in the background but when I try tabbing back into the game it does nothing. Can't enter the game at all.
EDIT
I actually managed to start the game past the title screen, however when I was at the main menu and when choosing survivor I had really low framerate it was unbearable, it tabbed me out of the game again and greeted me with the crash report. I was then typing into the crash report until it tabbed me out from that too so I couldn't screenshot it in time.
I reinstalled the game too, that didn't help at all either.
I'm experiencing this exact same issue now for no reason. The game has been running perfectly fine for the past year and now its crashing non-stop on the main screen. π€·ββοΈ

I love map offerings but only for the maps I want to play on - RPD and Midwich. I play as both Killer and Survivor equally and enjoy the indoor maps much more than the outdoor, open space maps (I hate Autohaven and the corn maps). If they remove this feature from the game, they should at least offer a separate 24/7 indoor map rotation mode for players who dont' want to suffer through the corn fields. πΎπ«
-
I didn't start playing DBD until after the Stranger Things DLC was discontinued. However, I was still able to buy the content from a third party and I now have Nancy, Steve, and Demo. In fact, Demo has become one of my main Killers. So you can still buy Nancy if you really wanted that character - just not from BHVR.
-
Still not working on PC as of November 29, 2022. I'm guessing the Forged in Fog update bugged the challenge, if it was ever really corrected.
-
ποΈ RPD and Midwich are the two best maps in the game. I use all my Bloodpoints to get map offerings for these two maps on both my Killers and Survivors. With Demo and Scratched Mirror Myers, the two maps are a huge advantage and on the Survivor side, I always use the Balanced Landing perk so I absolutely love the two levels on these maps. I only wish they had not reworked RPD and removed that staircase with a catwalk on the top floor - it was such a great escape route / safe zone for healing.

Well, the reason why so many do tunnel and camp and why its recommended so much is because it gets them better results.
I had a friend who would camp and tunnel every game because when they didn't they did way worse. So, like you said they normally only got 1-2 kills because they weren't that great at the game. But when they didn't they got 0 kills.
Now take a player who can get 1-2 kills without tunneling. Now when they do tunnel, they'll get 3-4.
I don't normally tunnel and camp because I just don't find camping fun and I have more fun going after everyone than focusing someone out. But the few times I do tunnel, either accidentally or otherwise, that's usually a 4K or 3K + Hatch. Reducing the survivor team from a 1v4 to a 1v3 is just too big of an upside to not be doing it ASAP if you're win focused.
Just because tunneling is the most effective strat, doesn't mean its a guarantee. You can still do poorly while tunneling, it's just your best shot. Survivors focus gens all the time, they still lose games. It's just their best shot at winning.
Thats right. I've just never looked at it that way and I hope you didn't just turn me into a hardcore camper and tunneler, lol.

Exactly.
Tunneling is the killer doing their objective efficiently. Anything otherwise is throwing.
I think if you are able to get all 4 kills out of it then tunneling is efficient. But from what I've seen, Killers who tunnel usually only get 1 or 2 kills from that tactic, making it inefficient. Then again, it seems like those tunneling start doing so towards the end game so I'm not sure how effective tunneling would be from the start.

It's the same level of ridiculous as 3 gens popping after the first chase.
One just get villainized a lot more.
Except 3 gens popping after the first chase is nothing but the Survivors playing the objective as the game was designed. Anything otherwise is game-throwing.

honestly Demogorgon is a weak killer... regarding the dredge he's fun but extremely weak since the counter is to just hold w+shift to another loop when he place the remenant... it can barely works only when you zone someone in a corner
Demogorgon is one of the best Killers in the game if you use the Leprose Lichen add-on. That allows you to see every Survivor on the map whenever you travel through portals. With only a 5 second cooldown you basically see all Survivors the entire game and you are able to warp around the map in seconds. Combine that with Red Moss (Undetectable when emerging) and a bunch of gen regression perks, and you have a very high pressure and deadly Killer. However, without the LL add-on, he drops to mediocre at best.

@egg_ said:
There is no correlation
Killers call genrushing what most times is the result of their own misplays (commonly referred to as "the game is survivor sided π’"). And killers camp and tunnel even if the game is going clearly in their favor already
Completely agree. If the goal of Survivors is to repair enough gens to open the gate and escape, why would they not try to do this as quickly as possible? A team loading up on tool boxes and add-ons provided by the game is merely playing the objective as designed. It would make no sense if they intentionally used perks and add-ons to slow down gen progression and get themselves killed. In fact, that would be game-throwing. We may as well add negative labels to Survivors who heal ("Med Packers"), Survivors who unhook others ("Game Savers"), and Killers who attempt to sacrifice Survivors on hooks ("Hook Killers"). The point is that "gen rushing" is a required action in the game for Survivors whereas camping/tunneling is not the goal for Killers (their purpose is to sacrifice all the Survivors to the Entity - not target a single Survivor). Now those Survivors who stay on a gen instead of going for a save are not what I would call "gen rushing." They could easily be hiding in a locker, cleansing a totem, walking past a hooked Survivor as well - that is selfish play in order to pad individual stats rather than "gen rushing."

That's more of a you thing than a them thing. If you see it as mocking that's all you. If they wanna mock you it'll be way more straightforward that they're mocking you. People aren't passive aggressive with ggwp. Not most people anyway. Even if a small handful of people are doing it as a passive aggressive thing, if you just assume the best it will never bother you because people don't put in chat "Well played (passive aggressive tone)" that would be such a weird way to talk lmao.
Exactly. A killer isn't going to mock Survivors with a ggwp and no other language. That would be like a 1950s "Golly gee," "Holy rusted metal," "Great Caesar's Ghost" taunt. The point of the gg / wp chat is to recognize a good faith effort on the part of Survivors and show respect for playing the objective and actually trying (as opposed to DCing, hiding in a locker all game, bad manners, sacrificing on hook, selfish play).

@FreddyVoorhees said:
Too many gaslighters in here.
If one side wins too easiliy they should avoid saying gg or wp as it is absolutely mocking no matter what they themselvels think. There is no sensitivity here , just logic. Gg is for a game where both sides had fun and wp is for a game where both sides displayed a good amount of skill and effort. It's common sense really.
4k at 5 gens left is humiliation not gg or wp unless they managed to make crazy looping and saving events that dragged out the match.
I recommend just premanently turning off the chat and avoid all and any toxic issues one can come across. After many insults and childish behaviors I came across I did just this and had great time in the game ever since.

Could you please put the exit gates as far away from each other as possible. When you are the last survivor in the game, it's impossible to escape if the hatch is closed and the exit gates are too close to each other.
Sometimes the killer can just stand between the exit gates and see which gate the last survivor is trying to open.
Exactly! The exit gates are way too close to each other in every single map. If you are the last Survivor, your only hope is to find the Hatch before the Killer or the game is over. Its ridiculous.

Too short of a span to say. Lots of more casual players probably haven't even played the update to form their own opinion. As for me, I'm suffering grinding through the rift and then dropping the game for a few weeks.
New rift, AoT skins, coming off the anniversary, summer with schools being out, all favor the game having high numbers right now.
In the words of Luke Skywalker, "Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong." The game has been out for over 6 years, casual players have had plenty of time to form an opinion, and DBD recorded over 50 million players in March 2022 when school was in session, without a rift, no new skins, and before the anniversary.

The devs literally said how it works multiple times in the forums and it is by opening the exit gates after gathering an invitation or by the hatch. Any other way is a bug/glitch that wasn't supposed to happen on the survivor side.
Killers can just get it by playing the game normally as long as they touch the invite
I'm stuck on 11/12 masks currently and have been trying to get the last one but still have yet to gain
Does that mean I have to give back the masks I received from the glitch? I hope not.

Apocryphal! You may want to do some fact-checking on that. I now have 10 of 12 masks and half were earned in matches where I died on the hook early on. The totems are similar to the green glyphs in that once you unlock them, you have earned the achievement. It would be a disaster if you had to survive the trial until all 5 gens were completed and the gates opened.

As the title says and the image bellow shows, I played 150 games (148 games is patch 5.7.1 and my last 7 pinhead games is 5.7.2) and tracked the results and the survivors perks most used. I played 25 games with my 4 favorite Killers (Pinhead; Legion; Deathslinger and Clown). I also played 25 games with a Killer that I never played before and wanted to be part of my favorite killers (Executioner) and I tracked 25 games played to complete daily quests and compendium challenges with any and every other killer.
I'm pretty sure that my pinhead is at the soft MMR cap. Legion has a high MMR but not at the cap, with Clown and Slinger being above average, but not that great. Executioner, as stated, those are my first 25 games with the Killer, so I don't know where I'm MMR wise with this particular killer.
As the data shows, DH is used by 2 out of 4 survivors per game on average. BT; DS; Iron Will and Spine chill is used by 1 out of every 4 survivors and all other perks are used less frequently than once every match. Another interesting thing is that Boom CoH is not seen every match, but close.
Additionally while all the other perks (70 in total) were used 778 times in those 150 games, that means, on average, that every other perk in the game was used 10 times over these 150 games, and the combined 14 listed perks were used 1.373 times.
After the image there are some fun facts that I will share not correlated with the image but with my experience over those 150 games.

Intro 1: Doing this made me test a lot of killers that I never played before: Blight, Nurse, Oni, Pig and Twins.
Intro 2: Doing this made me test a lot of perks that I never played before.
Fun fact 1: Pig is awful, Jesus.
Fun fact 2: I hated playing with Blight and Nurse, but Oni and Twins are kinda cool.
Fun fact 3: Hex Devour Hope is THE S******
Fun fact 4: I'm 40 years old, and playing with the nostalgia Killers (Pinhead, Myers and Jason Trapper) is so so so awesome. Unfortunately, Freddy is a mess and boring.
Fun fact 5: there is a lot more bullying the Killer the lower the MMR. There is at higher MMR, but not that often.
Fun fact 6: Usually the bullying happens against the weakest killers, like Trapper or Myers, and I always laugh and think ITS PINHEAD TIME, Pink Mori equipped and its game on..... WE HAVE SUCH SIGHTS TO SHOW YOU.
Fun fact 7: I'm unable to camp b4 all gens are done, even when I tested Bubba. I hated it.
Fun fact 8: About tunneling, when I hook some1 and the unhook comes with me being too close... its the survivors fault and I will punish the miss play, but otherwise, I don't tunnel b4 2 or 3 gens are done.
Fun fact 9: About 4 games with Legion I got the Rancor bug and I thought that I didnt know how the perk worked and gave up on the perk, just to learn from the patch notes.... it was a bug. See, I'm pretty bad, and about 4 games on that list should have had better results than whats being shown.
Fun fact 10: I got called an awful killer and tunneler after a game that I 12 hooked people with TRAPPER.
Fun fact 11: Thanks for reading.
Nice looking chart and stats - love the color. I'm surprised Balanced Landing didn't make the charts as I use that perk on all my Survivors.

Bwuh? I have more fun playing every single one of those killers than I do with Twins. Like I could get Trapper or Pig, even if I disagree, but Huntress? Blight? Billy? You picked some of the most mechanically fun and beloved killers in the game in this list and that just baffles me.
I can't tell if this is some serious sarcasm going over my head or you genuinely think people prefer playing Twins to any of those other killers despite their phenomenally low pick rate (which is in and of itself despite Twins actually being pretty strong.)
To each his own. You can play The Twins like any of those other killers or branch out with more complexity between Victor and Charlotte. I personally don't think I would still be playing Killer if I was stuck with Blight, Trapper, Huntress etc. The Twins just keep me much more engaged in the match and entertained. But I realize some people like playing Candy Crush and watching paint dry on a Friday night. Like I said, to each his own.

Nope. I found out about DBD in January of this year and I've been hooked ever since. I have no interest in any other game and plan to keep playing it as long as they keep the servers running.
DBD is the WoW of asymmetrical games. Everyone said WoW would die when SWTOR, New World, and other MMOs were released (the so-called "WoW Killers") but 18 years later and the game still has over 5 million monthly players. DBD is just as profound and innovative as WoW in the asymmetrical realm so I don't see any other competitors taking the throne from DBD π!

I couldn't even punish survivors rescuing on the dang hill because Victor isnt damaging the Survivor and a kick to the face is all he gets.
I was even using toy sword and holy crap and it feels so slow charging, it's super frustrating missing a pounce because a Survivor has Resilience and Spine Chill.
I dare anyone on BHVR to play Twins and have fun, because I can't imagine having Fun as Twins when you can't use the Power without losing braincells

The perk is fine as it is. Just get used to it, a lot of killers make the perk useless just by skill
Exactly! ποΈ I've never seen a successful Dead Hard Survivor when I play as Killer. The perk only buys them a half-step lead and 1 second of life. It doesn't prolong the chase and even if they reach a pallet or window, you just play normal chase until you down and hook. The exhaustion effect and cool down combined with the fact that you can't recharge while sprinting makes the perk mediocre at best. I've used DH as Survivor but never saw the benefit - I much prefer Balanced Landing.

The Twins are my main Killer and I've never had to camp, tunnel, or slug. There were a few times with Victor that I downed a Survivor and immediately attacked another Survivor in the vicinity. The problem is that Charlotte is slow so you have to be careful that a nearby Survivor doesn't heal the downed one while you are walking with Charlotte to pick-up the Survivor and hook. I've gotten destroyed by teams of Survivors who stayed together and healed whenever I downed someone with Victor.

I don't understand why people say grades only reflect time played.
Not really, if you suck, you will not reach red grades.
At some point to progress upwards you have to beat the survivors and pip. And pipping gets harder as you play more and get better teams.
I have 10 hook 3k games and still no pip. You have to win to reach the top.
Exactly! I wonder if those people have actually played Dead by Daylight. I have 550 hours of game time in 3 months but I've never reached Grade Iri 1. Its just too difficult to play perfect games consistently to progress and I end up de-Piping which sets me back further. Most solid games do not earn Pips so you have to ensure that you unhook multiple survivors, repair multiple gens, escape from several chases, and survive the trial to earn a single Pip. Thats not easy to do against good or even mediocre Killers. I wish BHVR would make grades based on play time so I can finally reach Iri 1 and earn the most bloodpoints.
