The judgement has the most boring and uninteractive gameplay ever, worse than nurse.
So why do I have to deal with a killer that's seeing my aura at all times, can attack from anywhere on the map, has been buffed to make aiming even easier and on top of that, denies the use of a lot of perks cause of his non hook power???
Really bhvr devs don't play their game.
Comments
The worst part about Judgement is the dozens of aura reading perks that activate with very little requirement. You don't even have to look for survivors anymore. There are dozens of perks that reveal their auras. And honestly, not even old Distortion would protect us from all the aura reading BHVR has given killers. Oh and they're buffing deerstalker. Just what Judgement players need.
Because they don't play their own game and they never take survivor feedback into account.
I mean, look at the Myers and Trickster reworks, where the only counterplay is pre-dropping pallets like NPCs because there's no other effective way to interact with them in chase.
This killer is pure idiocracy. A guy who spams beams from across the map every 6 seconds while knowing everyone location 24/7, whose totems are impossible to cleanse, and who can defend a 3-gen while practically standing still—not to mention the exit gates, which are impossible to open if you end up in a 1v1.
Obviously, at first it was balanced by the fact that using the power actually took a bare minimum of effort. But as usual, people want everything handed to them on a silver platter without having to lift a finger, because god forbid they put in a tiny bit of effort—and voilà, we get this completely brainless abomination.
Both of the aura reading buffs really surprised me
They lack creativity to do a good killer, first they released Jason with an overloaded kit made from pieces of other killers but better, cause they have to get money with the license, and now a killer that shoots a beam from anywhere in the map that can get aura like crazy with zero effort. Unknown has to land 2 balls of spit and needs to be relatively close to you to do so, at least there is A CHASE where PALLETS MATTER, cause that is another point, judgement power make most pallets useless since they don't need to chase you, just spam the beam till it hits with now an improved way of curving the hit making close range easier for them.
Can't heal cause of nurses, can't used any second chance perk cause of power, the stealh part of the game is gone. Yeah, they really don't know what the ######### to do with their game, I hope other asymm games become good rivals cause this slop is worse than ever.
she has directional audio is huge and glowing (so you can see at far distances) and has the most telegraphed power in the game where you can see every move she makes and it's loud and highlighted if you half pay attention
aura is the only reason she's usable since her power is rng because survivors can also see her set up and can easily dodge
The most funny part is that they kept buffing her post-release, for whatever reason.
Have you seen the patch notes? Aura galore is genuinely what they want the game to be now.
I'll defend Judgment because:
→ It's community killer, therfore being strong isn't an issue.
→ is exactly designed for people suffering killers anxiety (sabo builds, flashlight saves, pallet saves, window saves, antitunnel perks, perk off hook - dead hard, baby sitter, STB, Off The Record, Ressurgence…)
→ you don't have to suffer strong loops as your power goes through everything
IMO Judgment is fine and those who don't want to suffer enxiety can play her without torturing themselves. Fairs.
Typical example of never played the killer even once. I bet you don't even know what the buffs actually do, calling her "braindead" to play.
I bet you're one of the guys that agreed "beam should be nerfed because streamers reading chat", because from what you've described, you clearly didn't pay ANY attention to what killers are doing.
Just because you clicked on some boxes doesn't mean you get to win for free. The community who voted also included survivor players who are unhappy with this design.
If you're anxiety over a video game is so bad that you can't handle any aspect of it you shouldn't be playing but if you're okay with this reasoning then tou must be okay with a new survivor who has special basekit abilities that allow them to negate pretty much all killer powers and perks because the survivor players who have anxiety can't handle them.
Aura read and beam spam until they win!
Oh, you're not having fun?
I love Judgment because she's quite hard to masater for chase. The fact that people run aura perks on her and just play passively isn't the issue of the killer. Long snipes are very reactable and you always count with nurses being in play and if that frustrates you you might as well pop on perks like place for us, shadowstep or object of obsession. :)
But remember, if you equip Windows of Opportunity you're playing on auto-pilot mode!
Cool but I didn't ask for advice and that has nothing to do with what you said. We're talking about the very important issue of video game anxiety, and if we're going to defend bad designs over it then it needs to go both ways. I suggest we have a survivor with basekit permaElusive. The idea that the killer can see my aura gives me such bad anxiety. And they might be following my scratch marks too. How anxiety-inducing! This survivor should also have baskeit 20% gen speed and door opening increase, because the longer I'm trapped in the match with this anxiety-inducing murderer the worse my anxiety gets! Also, the very idea of hanging off a meat hook gives me peak anxiety, so I think this survivor should also get basekit DS every time they're picked up. I think that's a good solution and if you don't have anxiety you can just play a normal survivor, i guess. It's not uncounterable either because if you manage to find and down this survivor you can just slug them. Fun, fair, and balanced!
“is exactly designed for people suffering killers anxiety (sabo builds, flashlight saves, pallet saves, window saves, antitunnel perks, perk off hook - dead hard, baby sitter, STB, Off The Record, Ressurgence…)”
Lol killer anxiety
Judgments very interactive actually; you can't just checkmate this killer by running away and that bothers a lot of people. People spent a decade running away and pre dropping and now Judgment has come for them.
Exhaustion perks are not the answer to all life's problems. Maybe I'm too Henry pilled to see a problem here.
Well. It is what it is. People want to have chill killer games but face too many frustrating mechanics. That's why people talk about killer anxiety. I understand it. If killers are insanely unfun to play against (which two of them are for me), survivors would suffer that too. Luckily killers are fairly balanced or not balanced enough, but no more overpowered. I understand frustrations from playing against Knight and Henry, maybe Trickster. Those killers are simply uninteractive to go against and there is nothing much to help it.
People can have chill Killer games, if they are chill themselves. People who talk about "Killer Anxiety" are usually sweating and want to win. And you cannot play the game to win all the time and then want chill games.
And honestly, if playing a game REALLY gives them anxiety, they might not want to play the game.
Well it's PVP game so both sides try to win. People are not sweaty, they just try to utilize tools to increase odds of winning, it's not that deep. Someone doesn't tunnel you at 5 gens because they are bad, but because they are doing win streaks and try to go for as many wins as possible. I think being sweaty is something that has no meaning. Killer brought iri add ons? Sweaty. Killer brought slowdowns? Sweaty. Killer tunnels to maintain pressure? Sweaty. If people try to win 400+ games which are regular winstreaks they have to play the smartest they can.
Of course. But if you expect to in every game or most of your games, you should not expect to get to play chill. This is the issue, Killers want to win most of the time, but Killers also dont want to put a lot of effort into it. And at this point, it is questionable if they actually want a PvP game.
EDIT: This is basically the same as if Survivors would say that they want to escape, but dont want to do Gens.
Killers are meant to be the powerhouse and should be dominating most of the matches. I have escape rate of 52-68 on my most played survivors. It says it all. If killer kill rate is below 50 % which is case of most killers atm it's not indicating the game being well balanced around survivor vs killer strenght. I'm not saying killers should have 90-100 % kill rate. But 70 %-80 % should be achievable without playing comp tournament set up.
To me Judgment is an amazing killer, at least now that they reverted her buffs of the last patch. I enjoy going against her a lot. She keeps you on your toes the entire time and chases against her are very fun.
I still wonder if she should not be able to see auras while controlling the beam, but I fear that would maybe reduce perk variety for her, and I am not sure if the aura builds really are that op on her.
I am not going to defend the logic of the person you replied too, since it makes no sense to me, a killer shouldn't be op just so that people don't have to fear killer anxiety. But Judgment being badly designed is entirely subjective, and I have seen a lot of people also say they enjoy going against Judgment.
I personally think she is very well designed, and quite interactive.
I don't personally find it very interactive to get sniped by a killer who is on the other side of the map. I also don't think it's acceptable to negate half the game. You can't sabo against this killer and a massive chunk of survivor perks are just turned off by the lack of hooks. If they change those perks to activation on hook states instead of physical hooks and they give a delay in banishment (similar to the remote hooking in 2v8) where saves are still possible then I'll accept this killer.
The same way her power denies tons of perks???? Fair to me.
Nope your not allowed to complain about anything as survivor you just need to shut up and take it! Oh btw we're gonna buff this killer just to rub it in your face as well!
Sorry but the only acceptable way to balance this killer right now is give it the skull merchant treatment until they can rework it entirely.
Survivor main.
Killer mains are Nurse, and pyramid head.
Love the Judgement.
I tried to use aura read and it's really not very useful.
Hex slow down and predicting where the survivor will be without seeing them is vastly more useful.
Without playing her ya really can't say anything. Her beam is not that easy to use.
Flicking a 90 degree angle shot is really hard and a 180 is double hard. Predicting where a survivor will be when I have to use the camera to force a shot without seeing where I'm looking isn't easy.
I either stomp or get rolled. There's no in between.
If I have them at 2 hook at 5 gen, I let them go.
It's practice for me and bp for them.
Saying Judgement is OP just isn't true. Her power takes a lot to git gud.
Just pay attention and dodge.
I still don't know how people struggle against her, saw her for the first time in over a week last night and didn't go down once. Like as long as you play safe and don't greed anything and keep in mind what perks she's most likely running she really isn't that bad.
Then up close if you just keep your pathing unpredictable she can't hit you.
BHVR just stated that the kill rates skyrocketed with the last change, and that the Judgment is a "growing issue". I am sure there is a way to spin that to align with "not that bad", and "don't know how people struggle against her", though. Go on, have a go.
the last changes were terrible and no good judgments were asking for them. it was completely unnecessary
They could be saying the true that her killrates skyrocketed- which i doubt, since 4 out of 5 of the few Judgments I've went against hardly knew how to aim the beam - but personally i believe the growing discussion about her being stronger than Nurse were the decisive point to make them revert the changes.
She is hard as hell and people are getting the grip on how to dodge her beams. For the majority of the killer player base - which are casual players - she isn't attractive, specially since she plays a game of her own and the skill floor with her is so high.
I personally believe will take months before Judgment becomes a real threat with high killrates.
As far as i know her killrate on unofficials site did not have a bigger boost since the 0.8s change
TBH, i've seen that a big part of that anxiety comes with ""bullying"" in matches and post chat verbal abuse.
Although i've understood with time how to deal with it, i think is a real problem, particullary for newer players, considering there is even harassment outside game, specially against streamers.
Hide. The. Chat.
It's what I do if I dont want to see said messages, or go on anon, also Bullying also usually always refers to survivors just fighting back, it's such a nonsense term when used in that context too because what do you expect people being targetted by a KILLER to do, roll over and take it? Ofc they are going to fight back and in most cases altruism can end in an easy 3-4k lol
We'd probably have less toxicity if extreme tunneling and slugging was dealt with coz no one would feel spiteful on survivor side over time. It doesnt feel good playing casually with friends and someone gets singled out and is forced to do nothing. At least the killer can still play.
Half the time it's people putting a stick in their own bicycle.
Its not that simple like "hide the chat". I'm not talking about "gg ez" or "nice try" stuff, i'm talking about people wishing DEATH onto family members or telling killers to kill themselves just because they disliked the match. This kind of behaviour shouldn't be normalized, even if the person close the chat.
No, its not "fighting back", its purposely drawing the killer to an area to Head On, chain blind, emote on a pallet to get a save, etc etc. Usually these types got out their way to make newer killers miserable and insta DC when they see the killer knows what they are doing. Again, its mostly done against newer killer players, who don't know how to properly counter or react in those situations.
As killers starts to tunnel, slug and camp because they go against that type of survivors and start to become toxic too. This arguments leads nowhere. And if "camping, slugging and tunneling" is enough to make you to personally attack someone in a videogame, there is bigger issues than DBD itself.
Let's not pretend y'all weren't complaining before that and will continue to complain in the future after the revert.
we already have that it's called endurance
And rightly so! The game should be enjoyable for everyone not just a few.
Ironically I got Judgement this morning, once again only went down once. I'm fully convinced a survivors playing with their brain off issue.
What a great foundation, making up an "opinion" on behalf of two games. The general concensus is that Judgement is far to oppressive right now. And its more than once elaborated why. So stop making hot takes without any proper arguments.
And how was the judgment playing? I'm convinced people wouldn't admit a killer played poorly under any circumstances. Either that or they are just giving them far more leeway than they are willing to extend to survivors.
You think 10s of basekit Engurance negates all killer powers and perks?
I want to show you why I think Xendritch is atleast somewhat correct.
One of my favorite killers is Artist. She also has map wide sniping ability, it's also by default visual across the map (albeit not as long) and with a large audio cue. The amount of times I get that first swarm from across the map is "yes". Survivors have ample time to not get swarmed and get a warning that I fired, if not exactly where 24/7, from the distance im talking about. This isn't as impactful because I need to double tap and people generally get the hint the first time, but now imagine if those hurt first time.
That image is basically Judgement. They have MUCH bigger tells yet people aren't getting the hint that when you hear or see the big light, don't be a sitting duck and move. Move randomly at that as this one WILL hurt. I get it's not possible to dodge every time, we're human and a smart player might surprise you with a trick or 2, that's pvp. I get that facing Judgement is a lot different than 90+% of the other killers, that's why I personally like facing Judgement while others don't. I get that people might think it's uninteractive, hell that's even fair as they're basically tossing things at you and all you do is dodge 24/7. But what I DON'T get is the fact that people call Judgement is op, oppressive, broken...you get the point. There's warnings and a very simple counterplay.
Where do you have that general consensus from? People agreed she was too strong when she got those last two buffs, but those have been reverted again.
Every time I see a thread, a video, a social media post or something else about the Judgment, I have to giggle.
Why?
Because the Judgment is the community killer. Isn't it ironic?
that's the point of the endurance status effect you are immune to killer powes and perks and it's basekit
The best judgments are not just going for cross map snipes, they can hit you from close range with effectively no way to dodge. Even the snipes can be incredibly difficult to dodge if the judgment is good at setting them up and curving them in the right way. I agree that some players have skill issues, and anyone getting long range sniped while the judgment isn't zealous has them, but I rarely see that applied to killers. This is my primary problem with what they are saying, they see complaints from survivors about judgment (or any other killer) and immediately jump to those players having a skill issue but when they do well against that same killer no consideration is placed on how skilled the killer they faced was.
...for 10s. This killer who negates "killer anxiety" gets to do it the whole match by never allowing sabos and never activating hook-based perks.
the aura part can be countered with distorsion and simlar perks . They also just nerfed the curve window but in zealous and regular mode so dodging is more possible again.
I'm not even calling it a skill issue, I'm just calling out a lack of basic sense from a vocal majority. At close range there's a delay before it can hit you, it's not getting dropped on a survivors head. Survivors have both time to see and time to move as long as you have room to move. Sometimes your gonna get caught because they curved and you didn't predict it, sometimes your funneled and then there's really is no hope to dodge, but a extreme, and I mean like 98/100 times, majority of the time survivors have the chance to dodge.
I agree people do this way to often, however there's that other side of the coin. I've seen good judgements face good, or at minimum cautious, survivors and the judgement is called having the skill issues because they couldn't catch the survivors. Basically it seems the losing side is always the skill issue. What I'm just saying however is that most people are calling judgement op while survivors have, to quote the above, "playing with their brain off issue."
The delay decreases the longer the beam is held up to the point where it can basically be placed on top of you and hit (this is obviously quite difficult). Otherwise I do generally agree with you. I do think its much more common to claim survivor skill issue than the other way around but accept that it could just be personal bias.
