Why do survivors stay back even when they know they won and all teammates are out?
This use to upset me at some point due to the fact that I just find it a waste of time, but now I just start to question it. Because it seems like its useless on both ends, especially when the person is T-bagging at the end. I don't know to me it just seems worthless to do even when you KNOW you won

Why do killers slug and spam w and s when they know they've won? Seems kind of worthless if you ask me.
They are trying to show off or think they are being nice by giving you free bp hits? Normally it's the first tbh. I usually just wait for them to leave instead of pushing them out, might as well watch a youtube video on my other screen.
Ya, it's a complete waste of everyone's time. I'll stay in on survivor to ensure my teammates make it out but leave the moment I know everyone is safe. The moment they start waiting and bagging I start wishing I hadn't helped them.
This game just seems to attract people with a poor sense of sportsmanship. Know that it says much more about them than anything else.
Some people are just pricks.
Some people wanna give hits for BP.
Some people are trying to do an archive/quest/challenge/achievement.
this is comparing something bad with something just as bad not my question but thanks for the insight
honestly fair
im glad it makes sense and im happy you help your teammates
Same reason why killers mori the final survivor.
Mori takes usialy 8-15 seconds but picking survivor up and going to hook takes sometimes more and especialy when that survivors doesnt die on hook faster like because he is already dead on hook. Mori is instant and because of more cool offering options like more bp or before sac hand against guarantee maps etc. devs saw people dont use mories so they add it basekit as finisher to make people mori more, so in short it can be time saving and its devs wish to use mories more thats why its there.
So your comparison is off and would only match in situation like killer droping last survivor near hatch to mori him on it or near it to assert dominance but thats not to case in majogity of mori use I would say.
To wate time, ego boost, assertion of dominance mostly.
Theres no real purpose for survivor to stay there when all are safe in open gates or gone.
Some can farm totems and stuf which is greedy but understandable. Only to options that left are either tip har for the killer which kinda isnt happening nowdays because they dont even give you points for hits they just waith for you to get very close and then leave which wasnt thing in past where people gave hits due to bp being lower. Last option is something like assertion of dominance or more like ego boost which is majority I would say but its total waste of everyones time which only survivor mains doing it deffend here.
Since you’re going to use whataboutisms to answer the OP, then you shouldn’t ever complain again about any killer behavior that you don’t like because “well the other side does it too”.
This makes no sense at all. Killers using a mori in endgame makes the match end quicker. Survivors waiting at the gates for no reason other than to taunt the killer is extending the game unnecessarily.
Happens far more often on the survivor side. Playing both sides equally, maybe 1 in 10 games or so this happens and its usually because i took them on a long chase and they finally got me. As a killer, it happens pretty much 100% of the time that i lose.
I mori because its faster. At that point, you can leave the game. The killer can't and they just have to watch you teabag or wait out the 2 minutes.
to rub in how they (the power role) have won?
Do i understand it? No.
But it just rubs in how borqued this game and it’s community is.
It's not whataboutism when both actions are the same thing just for each side respectively: wasting time taking a victory lap. You can criticize survivors for stalling at an exit gate, but that would mean (unless you're a hypocrite) you would also be willing to criticize killers doing the same thing. I have a strong feeling the amount of cognitive dissonance would be palpable coming from the killer side.
Thank you for your anecdotal evidence. I have the opposite experience.
this has nothing to do with the post and is a tactic children use.
How about we call out the actual players doing it rather than just this side or the other and which side (anecdotally) does it more. I guarantee the people that do it on one side do it on the other. You will also have a hard time finding people that defend those that bag in exit, all you have to do is check the slug for the 4k thread to see how many people are OK being disrespectful to survivors in endgame.
Same to you, its a problem on both sides. Call out the specific people doing it or defending it.
have they won? I guess if all four are on the ground. But I thought survivors had a way to bypass that kind of humiliation? 🤔 Maybe killers could also... no that would be silly.
2 sacrificed in a 2v1 situation with 3 gens left and 1 slugged on the ground? Yeah that's a win lol. You can't abandon in that situation if you're a survivor.
Yes, what you did is the literal definition of “whataboutism”. OP was talking about survivors waiting/t-bagging at the gates, then you jumped in to the thread not to talk about that issue but to point out that killer players do bad things too. I agree with you that it is bad when both sides do it. But then you had to get that last sentence in just to make sure we all know which side you don’t personally like. It’s divisive, unnecessary stuff like that that turns discussions into “us vs them” p***ing matches.
You don't have to self censor the word pissing; if there is a word that needs to be censored, the Forums takes care of it automatically.
A lot of the time its to ego in your face. Killer still can't abandon in EGC btw when its 90% of the time already a lost game.
if the killer is too busy doing W and S the other has a good chance to find hatch.
You are making a million different assumptions about me, which I do not appreciate. Also, if you want to talk about my comment being divisive, this entire thread is designed to be divisive.
You can't play this motte-and-bailey argument where you say "blah blah survivors are all jerks to us poor killer players why are they so mean" and when you are properly called out on your hypocrisy because killers do the same thing, you retreat to "why are you turning this into an us vs them ALL BM is bad" when the original argument was divisive to begin with.
Besides, you misunderstand me. I think BM on both sides is poor sportsmanship. But I am not going to let a thread designed to crap all over survivors for the actions of a small subset of them go without letting people know that there is a killer equivalent and both are poor sportsmanship. You can hide behind the whataboutism smokescreen if you wish, but this is just how it is.
I didn't make this discussion to be divisive I made it because I genuinely wanted to know why survivors do that YOU are the one that came in and started it all the whole POINT of the discussion was to seek an answer or peoples opinions on why survivors do it I know why killers do it because I myself MAIN killer and choose to only play killer so I don't know what the survivor side is like I anymore since its been years since I played it full heartedly
Everyone just standing and bagging at the exit gates has become rare honestly compared to how common it used to be. (am mostly solo q player)
I see excessive end game bagging mostly if the survivor survived a hard tunnel and is bragging or the killer is a not so liked and survivors got out (eg ghoul)
Otherwise bagging at exit gates is rare and people will either stand there or just run out, sometimes their is the odd ball that stands there and bags, (tends to be person with least chase time 😂) I tend to shake head at them then run out of trail.
It ain't rare for me sadly nearly every game where I lose or am going to lose they t-bag every chance they can at pallets at windows at exits its not rare at all and I try using every killer besides ghoul recently so idk
Because some people are jerks.
Not answering a question and instead immediately countering with another unrelated scenario is the very definition of whataboutism.
Believe it or not we can respond to questions like these without reflexively rattling off something the other side does and just say it's because have a tiny e-dong and be done with it
For sure, let me answer the biased loaded question with "yeah it's about ego, but killers do the same thing."
It really is as they say. There are two kinds of people in the world: 1) those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.
It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out why people are BMing. If you know why killers BM, you know why survivors BM because both are piloted by human beings. Ego is the answer.
Everybody's arguing over which side does what, when most people play both sides and it's likely the same folks doing it regardless of which role they're in. Anyone who actually plays both sides would know that. People aren't magically angels in one role and devils in the other. They're all around just annoying people.
Its amusing because killer bm (slugging all four survivors for four minutes,) was so bad and so common that BHVR had to put in a way for survivors to leave the game so they wouldn't be abused in this manner.
For real. These kinds of threads crack me up because it's so painfully obvious killers do this more than survivors that they invented the abandon feature. THEN the same killers go and argue that it's unfair because they can't abandon when the exit gates are powered. Killer mains will never make sense to me.
Many of the same people insisting vehemently that things like bodyblocking someone in the corner wasn't TECHNICALLY holding the game hostage because other survivors can still do gens, and bleeding people out isn't THAT bad. It's just four minutes. Grow up, you babies. Now let me abandon games because two minutes of EGC is too much to deal with.
A responsible developer would've fixed the hojillion toxicity problems these endgame mechanics promote and encourage ten years ago.
I wish people would understand this but they're so desperate for the two sides to be like distinctly separate political parties. People get mad at these BMers and attach it to the role instead of the person.
Can't say ive done it myself but its the same reason theyd t bag n nod after pallet stuns etc. Just because they can and it depends on the player's personallity.
One person i used to play with insisted on t bagging at all times and insulting in the end game chat regardless of how the round went. But they were also the same type of person who would play friday the 13th, get the parts for the car and procede to run all the other survivors over finding it funny. Infact the reason i no longer play with them is because they accused a claudette of sandbagging them early in the match and declared that everyone else in the group should let them die on the hook. I did not comply and as soon as she popped off the hook, the friend disconnected, kicked me out of the discord group chat, and we havent talked since.
It truly is just a quick ego thing that ive never felt the need to do. Ill stay when the killer needs to be distracted for a hook save near the gate, but otherwise if everyone is safe and able to make it to a gate i just leave.
Yup. It's the person, not the role. Some people just enjoy annoying others. These people have always existed and will always exist. And talking about them just encourages them more because they know they're successfully tilting people.
Its just BM. And its funny how there is someone in this thread sayin "it happens more for me from killers". Both sides have form of BM. Both sides do this to rub salt in your wound. Both BMs are useless and time wasting. It can happen more for killers since there are 4 players, each with different mindset. Nevertheless it happens on both sides
I'm glad they added that abandon feature even if I only play killer I didn't like or understand why killers did that but just because a person has one bad game doesn't mean they should take it out for the sake of ego I don't like playing unfair I don't like Bm'ing because i don't want it to happen to me
I would not say that Killers do it more than Survivors, statistically more Survivors are toxic because there are 4 in a match and only 1 Killer. However, I think that Killer toxicity is more impactful. If Survivors teabag me at the Exit Gates, I just go to them, hit them and they run out. Everyone who is old enough to play this game can do that. However, before abandoning was a thing, slugging someone for 4 minutes and humping them had way bigger impact. Not because of the humping but because of the fact that the person on the ground had no way of avoiding being stuck there for 4 minutes, since DCing was not really an option.
The only thing I honestly think when it comes to toxicity (humping, teabagging) is that people who are doing it should really not complain if someone else is doing it to them. If you hump me on the ground at least dont complain on Reddit or the Forums that those evil Survivors teabagged you at the gate and there was "nothing" you could do about it, since forcing them out would mean you see them teabagging. Same obviously the other way around, if you decide to teabag on the Hatch until the Killer sees you, dont complain if you get humped.
