I kinda agree… The times I play killer queues are hitting 6+ minutes even without 2v8, splitting the playerbase even further is just a pain. I'm not a huge fan of survivor so I just play less.
-
They are trying to show off or think they are being nice by giving you free bp hits? Normally it's the first tbh. I usually just wait for them to leave instead of pushing them out, might as well watch a youtube video on my other screen.
-
I was just wondering why these showcases are happening. I thought there would be changes but there weren't any?

I have the same problem and use the queue times too do something productive or for minor breaks
Sure, I do that sometimes. It just sucks when you only have so much time to play.

I feel like either this is an amazing promo for a Blair Witch chapter or someone at BHVR has lost their mind.
Either way, I went from finding it annoying to finding it hilarious.
the commitment is just 💅

I think the problem was they announced something happening which gave people expectations. If they didn't announce anything and randomly went live with this a lot of people wouldve been waaaaay less upset
I would have been down with them not announcing anything. I still think people are overreacting over something I think is pretty fun, but honestly not announcing anything would have added to the mystery. Man, everyone in a different time zone would probably be mad if they did it unannounced because they didn't get a heads up to get up at 3 am 😂

People got jobs in the morning. They should have said it would be like this.
Then they should just go to bed lol. I love the way this is going, sparking fun discussions. Honestly, a great reveal to me.
-
Nah, I love this. People freaking out about Bhvr wasting their time is half of the entertainment.
I think it's a really cool way to hype the new killer and spark discussion. I watched it for a bit last night before going to bed, I wasn't going to ruin my sleep over a video game video. If there had been news, I would have seen it in the morning.

Otz proposed that they're promoting certain maps in an attempt to boost sacrifice rates, which have been falling pretty badly for many Killers. You make maps that are bad for Survivors show up more, you artificially inflate some Killers' probability of success.
Then why am I only getting the game as killer? 💩

Dude, can you write without using chatgpt to write for you?

Yeah, again, it has the bonus because it has the longer queue. The game needs more killers because there's a line, so there's a bonus to play killer. The longer queue gets the bonus. Why would you get a bonus for the one that is instant?
Well… and instant queue as killer means there's a lot of survivors. so therefore, survivors will have a longer queue. in order to get more players to play killer, you give them a BP bonus. (which will decrease survivor queue time) More killers play → killers will get a longer queue time and therefore the bonus goes away and then maybe survivors will get it as now they need more survivors to fill for the killers.
So the shorter queue time does get the bonus as they need more players to fill that role.

Mandy mentions in this thread that they are tweaking the matchmaking bonus behind the scenes and it can result in some abnormalities.

ah gotcha, thank you.

@cogsturning said:
If there's a two minute queue on, say, killer, they want to get the number down, so the bonus is on the longer one to incentivize you to play that one. The role with the bonus is the one lacking players.
Yes, I understand. But in this case the killer queue is 2 minutes and also has the 2.5x blood point bonus, while survivor insta pops with no bonus. If the killer queue is 2 minutes, they have to many killers no? so why put a bp incentive to make people play it.

god, give me autohaven and coldwind all day long, even nostromo is not terrible for trapper😥
-
Yeah, no. They got rid of map offerings for a reason.

same issue here. killer footsteps sound all over the place, im hearing gens from so far away and they sound right next to me. honestly unplayable.

The same happened to me as well, I P1 five of my killers but my doctor who was one of my favorite characters got sent back to P0, I sent them a formal msg but I'm glad it's not just me that is having this problem.
I also sent in a ticket for this.

When did you prestige them? Just yesterday, or a week ago, or…? I wonder if they did something like choose a specific date/time and update your prestige levels as of that date/time, thereby causing issues with people who prestiged after that? I don’t know.
When they released the update for the midchapter patch notes, so about a week ago I think.
-
I am having this issue as well.
-
Imagine wanting to nerf one of the weakest killers in the game.
-
@Chimmers said:
Yep, the exact same happened to me. All survivors down from Adam didn’t get the boost to prestige. Everyone above Adam did get the boost.

I like them; they are supposed to be gross and unsettling. It's a shambling mound of darkness and human remains, the noises are very fitting
They're are not great when you have sensory issues.

I don't want more BP, it is a hassle to spend all of them.

Her power is more having insane map pressure. She can be in 3 different places in a matter of seconds. Learning to utilize this is where you will get a lot of ur pressure. She isn't designed to commit to chases for too long. Her kit incentivizes hit and run.
Hit and run has been dead since circle of healing came out.

Very valid points, except the fish part - when I'm talking about sealife, I'm not just talking about fish or things that swim. Keep in mind that much of the vegetation in the sea is edible. Seaweed, as an example, is farmable. Spirulina, Watercress, Arame, sea grapes are all edible plants that can be found in the sea. And that's in the sea. There are also freshwater plants that are edible too.
Oh, I did not take that into consideration as most people generally mean fish when they speak of sea life in regards to food. I definitely agree with you, sea plants should become more widespread in diets today. Seaweed is delicious! :)

This is correct and incorrect at the same time.
Beef, specifically, is one of the worst offenders for the planet, thanks to all the cow farts. Chickens have far less of a carbon footprint as an example.
And then you're ignoring how CO2 emissions from things like equipment to do that farming as well. The only truly "sustainable" source of nutrients are sealife, provided we don't overfish them. And even then, that depends on the types of boats that are used to do said fishing, which in and of themselves can be pollutants.
Most of the plants we grow are fed directly to the animals that we eat. If we ate plants directly, we would be able to grow fewer plants, leading to less C02 from farm equipment.
The ethics of eating fish aside, there is no way of fishing sustainably with how high the demand for fish is.
Plant-based diets are by far the most sustainable diet.
-
Hope all of you who are outraged over this are eating plant-based diets or you are hypocrites. Not eating animals or their secretions is the best thing an individual can do for the environment.

Your not constantly facing "comp swfs". You might be facing good swf teams but the difference in them and comp teams is massive.
I don't believe it's healthy for the game telling who's in a swf or not.
Nah, my MMR is high enough that I get these teams all the time after MMR started. There's a much smaller pool of killers to go against these groups now, so the frequency will go up. I don't really mind this that much but it does get tiring to have to try my best every match. I understand I could just not try hard and lower my MMR but I want to go against really good teams as well. Just not constantly.
-
Hag is very strong but I feel like a lot of people find her play style boring. It's basically long distance camping.
As for advice? Run corrupt intervention and use that time to build a solid web of traps. Use a hit and "run" platy style. Don't chase, you should rely mostly on your traps to get hits. Bind trap trigger to mouse wheel to be extra zoomie with traps.

I think this change is not good at all, because if I have gate at 99 i cant touch it and the killer can wait for the timer to end so he can pick me up and hook again, or if I have a gen almost done he will also wait or hit me after I toched the gen so I lost my ds
Its almost like you weren't tunneld if you worked on a generator.
Killers shouldn't be punished for tunneling in end game, there's literally nothing else they can do besides rehooking when the survivors start trading hooks at the end

it may have been a easy killer for you to learn but every one is different with different play styles. She has been my main from day 1 she is a powerful killer whom can destroy in brown, green and purple ranks but will have a harder times in red ranks and with swf. This may not apply with every one. But i do agree with the community her beads need a nerf. one of the best ways for people to win against her is play her for a bit this allows you to lean her strengths and weaknesses. for me i love playing against her is because i see this as a easy bully.
I strongly disagree with it. Spirit as well as nurse and billy are some of the few killers that can absolutely destroy swf and at red ranks. Stridor takes away her weakness and spine chill wont help much. Not sure what kind of spirits you're going against but a spirit player has to be deaf or playing without headphones to have a hard time tracking. Are you a low rank survivor? (Not an insult, I'm legitimately curious)
-
What's this steep learning curve you speak of? I found her to be the easiest killer to learn and play at any rank. A lot easier then nurse and pretty much just as efficient at winning chases quickly. She's not inaccessible to most players considering how common she is at every rank. Iron will is easy to counter with stridor, spine chill is pretty good against a newer spirit, decent killers just use their ears.
To answer your final question, she's simply unfun to play against. Nurse you at least can juke because you can tell how the player plays, she gives you information. Spirit is just flat out guess work as survivor.

Survivor side is awful. Dropped a pallet a few times and got hit through it and the killer didn't make the stun sound/animation until I was already on the ground. Killers rubberbanding through pallets too. Dedicated servers need to be removed, they arent ready for live.
