  • OK, we all know monstrous shrine hasn't seen alot of love and any "basement" build does not have this perk, which is a BASEMENT perk. I'd say either buff the small percentages to something worth it, or change it to be more useful. It's currently collecting dust in every killers perk collection.

  • Same as my forum name. Go ahead, and I'll add you back when I finish work today
  • OK, let me start by saying

    1. I like TydeTyme and agree on a majority of things with him
    2. I am a killer main

So with this in mind let me say that I disagree with his thoughts on the exhaustion nerf.

For those who may be unfamiliar with what I am talking about basically in Tyde's recent video he said that the OVERALL exhaustion nerf was a good thing and that sprint burst was not the only problem. If you want to hear what he had to say in full context then I of course urge you to go and watch his video.
Now I absolutely feel that SB needs a nerf, no questions asked, BUT I don't feel the way to do this is by nerfing ALL the exhaustion perks because ultimately it is counter productive. If all the exhaustion perks get nerfed equally, then doesn't that still make SB the best perk out of those to use? Now, Tyde's argument is that the other perks not only do what sprint burst does, but actually do more. Now this is true to an extent however there is a really big caveat to this: They are all situational.

Lithe: You must vault over something
Balanced Landing: You must fall from a height
Dead Hard: You must be injured
Sprint Burst: No stipulation, just don't be exhausted ( Just like the other perks )

Now with Sprint Burst, even if I know you have it, there is simply nothing I can do to counter it. Compare this to the others where I will always see when you are trying to activate it, whether it be because you are aiming to vault something, aiming to fall from something or if you used Dead hard earlier, I will then know to just wait till you use it and then hit you right after. I can then just plan ahead by going around the vault or the drop zone so that your perk has much less effect against me.

Now to just finalize this Tyde used the example of the Nurse being countered by Dead Hard, which is true absolutely, but now name me another killer that is hard countered by Dead Hard. The only reason it is a counter to Nurse is because of the nature of her playstyle, this does NOT make it a counter to ALL killers.

Tyde mentions other things in the video that I absolutely agree with such as generator time and the overall power of the killer, these all absolutely need to be fixed. But to the topic at hand I have to completely disagree with Tyde, I as a killer main have never thought " Damn Dead Hard is annoying as hell ", but I do feel that way about SB. SB needs to be nerfed, but for me ONLY sprint burst out of the exhaustion perks needs this. As I say, if ALL the perks are getting nerfed, then ultimately Sprint Burst will still be the best one to use out of them

I hope this didn't seem too rant-like for that is not my intenton, I simply don't agree that the way to nerf a perk is by nerfing it's ENTIRE category. It would be like nerfing Nurses calling just because people have a problem with BBQ, it would make no sense

Thanks for reading, and of course give your own opinion on the situation!

OK, gonna just throw my two cents in, as someone who plays both sides.

I agree with everything you've stated. And after reading the thread, I feel like this also needs addressing. Survivor mains complain about BBQ, Ruin, and all "crutch" perks that killers use. But in truth, there's really only two I think are crutch perks: no one escaped death or Blood Warden. Even Devour Hope isn't that much of a crutch, becuase it can be achieved very quickly (if the totem stands that long). All exhaustion perks are crutch perks if played right, as well as DS, Quick and Quiet, even urban evasion if the distance is long enough. These are situations, but you get the idea. Because of all the perks, pallets and map designs, killers rely on certain perks nearly every game (unless they're playing perkless, in which case, bravo!).

I admit, I can't play a game without ruin or BBQ, because I get so tired of not having anything on my side to help me counter SB, DS, all of them. And when I play survivor, I refuse to use DS and pick Lithe over SB. Lithe is a little easier to counter (and don't lie, its easier than SB, thanks to needing a vault location).

These nerfs i feel are necessary to push the game forward, or else killer mains are gonna end up walking out of the community. And with feedback, the devs can continue to move forward. We can't achieve balance without experimenting with the mechaincs.

And for Christs sakes guys, this is a general discussion, no need to be nasty to someone because they think differently!

Outstanding. As a member of the PC community, it's great to hear that our brothers and sisters with PS4s are now on the same page. Hopefully the Devs will know what to expect in the future with regard to large patches (DLC) and how to approach them.

Why don't we just class ourselves as the DEAD BY DAYLIGHT community, and eliminate any chance of console wars. I mean we all play the same game
This will never happen no matter how much sense it makes
    Sad days....
  • I swear, I always am at work when events start. And im moving this weekend too....

    ...
  • Everything seems to be working well and is great.

The END game results screen is insanely laggy most of the time, and 1/3 of the time as killer I lag badly in FPS drops.

I have noticed this. Just had a game then as clown, and it was so laggy, he looked like he was trying to be the nurse.

    Imagine the possibilities:
    30k base BPs + 30k double bp weekend + 30k WGLF/BBQ + 5x bloody party streamers = 240k BPs from a single match!

So i would recommend everyone, when there are several bloody party streamers active. Show a heart to your fellow survivors and killers and keep the match alive for as long as possible. Everyone is a winner!

Btw. I don´t think Farming is bannable. (but this might need an official confirmation)

Only if it's reported I think. Otherwise it's more of a wink and nudge thing. Just have to be fair and don't exclude someone. That is definitely bannable since it'd be a case of 3 Survivors working with the Killer against 1 Survivor.

I had that happen to me just the other day. Not gonna lie, it really sh*t me off

I don’t understand how playing the game mechanics allow is equal to forcing another player to be held hostage in a game, which is what your story appears to me to be highlighting as an acceptable response to something allowed that you personally disagree with on an emotional level.

dont get me wrong I agree that for me your experience would be tilting however I think you are putting yourself in a position for actual bannable bullying. I do not have a solution to the perceived issue, a less entertaining experience because of a killers right to choose a less then interesting way to play  ( a wraith is one of the least powerful and more boring killers imo to play as) But I don’t believe it is your right to punish him by holding him hostage in a match.
Hmm, I didn't think of that. I suppose it is something I shouldn't have done.... Nonetheless, even a Wraith shouldn't need to camp from the beginning of the game. I understand if it was late stage of the game, sure. But beginning? I will however apologize to the other player (don't think he is on the forum, and if he is, I don't know his username), cause after what you've said, it is something I shouldn't have done. Although, I will say I wasn't taking the game hostage. Even if I didn't block him in, it was still a hatch stand off, so the game would have gone on just as long anyway.

I hate the hatch standoff, but I wasn't giving him another kill regardless. Thanks for pointing this out to me. I don't stuff like this any other time, so I'm not one for being toxic or just a d%ck
To be technical this would be counted as holding the game hostage by Bvhr sooo yeeeaaaaahhhhh
That sucks... Well, can't be a vigilante then. Guess I'll just going back to just doing generators then or playing killer

I will say gg at the end of the game no matter how it ends but if there is a "toxic" player not trying to play but trying to make my existent hell then yes i will tunnel them until I kill them.

Tunneling those players just feeds them I've found. They literally hang around if they're killed first just to give grief in the afternoon game chat. Some days I don't care and just ignore them but others days, they make me stop playing killer and switch to survivor.
  • I always tend to say GG at the end of the game. I like to try and stay positive just to let others know that not everyone is toxic or an #########.

And I hope you continue to stay positive towards this game my friend
  • @TormentedSoul385 sorry if I hijacked your thread.  I actually side with you on the main issue (unnecessary camping) and I do not in any way hope for bad things coming your way.  I’ve seen some harsh things happen to people with the intention of doing something good (which I believe was the purpose of your story, evil wins when good people do nothing kind of sentiment) and I don’t want something like that for you.
Thank you, I was a bit confused, so this helps me out. Look, if something bad happens because of the whole scenario, I will deserve it. And like I've said, its the only time I've done something banable, so I'm not too worried. I'll take the ban in any case.
  • Being incorrect is not the same as being stupid. That type of derogatory language is what people with weak arguments use to validate an unsubstantiated claim. If you are correct why do you feel the need to insult anyone? Let your statement stand if it’s correct good for you but if it’s not because you have less intelligence. Smart people can be wrong.
    Words to live by.

Anyway I'm getting off topic, I really like complimenting the killer, except when it's a huntress or Leatherface they can die honestly. But I hate toxic survivors, they're annoying and typical. Sometimes, SOMETIMES, I get mad but that's very rare, I just get super annoyed when I'm tunnelled or camped with 5 gens left. Anyway sorry for the long paragraph and nonsense I write LMAO.

Hey, no need to apologise my friend. I honestly have to say though, I can't understand your hate for huntress and leatherface. I personally like huntress and I only like leatherface because of his BBQ and chilli. Why the hate my man?

    No.

Survivors cannot body block a Killer to hold a game hostage.

Especially at the hatch, that is just stupid.

Hey it’s Bvhr’s poorly defined rules not mine
Well, I don't exactly feel great about that.

Thanks. Hey, I see you're a very active member of the forums. Mind if I ask how long you've been a part of the DBD community as a whole?
  • The problem is when you meet toxic survivors that want to D-Rank and they ruin the game. The killer needs at least a safety pip and the dc-ing wont help him. So here is to nontoxicity among the players. Dont dc, dont camp, dont bm et.

    Hear hear!
  • language like “I blocked him in. He couldn’t move not even a little bit” may be construed by the developers as holding a game hostage. Also if it wasn’t I don’t understand the point of how it would be punishing if you didn’t expect it to be taken in that manner.

Also @Tizzle a opinion you or anyone else don’t agree with isn’t inherently stupid just because you disagree.
Welp, that's my bad. Good thing its the only bannable Ive ever done then. Like I said, don't this sort of thing often. I just the opportunity and took thinking it was a good idea. Obviously not so much. Bugger. But I've vs him since, I can say he hasn't camped anyone from the beginning of the game ever since.

OK, I'm gonna say this a lot on the forums, but here it goes.

Camping has once been looked into by the Devs, but survivors abused the heck out of what they tried to do, so they simply removed it. Some killers rely on this when all else fails, and a lot of these killers are legit good players (not all of them obviously, but no one is perfect). Why survivors feel like they are entitled to always escape is beyond me (i admit I can get like this sometimes, but I get over it really fast). As for the killers that camp from the beginning of the game, once you know they camp, give up on altruism, its just gonna end badly, get the gens done, and get out. And if your the one being camped, sorry my friend, just hold on the entire sacrifices (struggle points are still earned, so you don't get nothing entirely).

It sucks, yes, but it will never go away. Accept this, and move on.

True but they gotta do something about leather face at least

Leather face is a defensive killer my friend. His power is strongest in dealing with multiple survivors close together. So if he's camping, don't be a hero, he will destroy you, and possibly counter borrowed time if he's good. Its just the way he's was intended to be designed. I admit that I've done as leather face, but mind you I chased the survivor trying to go for save (so the survivor wasn't very smart so...)
  • I'm always non toxic. I will never have a go at a killer for killing me or playing how they want to play. I will however be annoyed at tunneling people based on who they are and not on how easy the kill might be.

I can understand that. But it happens my friend, so there's no point staying mad at it. I hate it too, but its part of the meta (don't know if it will ever go away). Also, I applaud you on being a good sport. Wish ALL survivors (and even killers) were like you.:)

  • No need for the hate man. Its just the way it is. And the changes the shrine is going through will literally only be useful for getting teachables you don't have yet. If you are complaining because you want the blood points unlocked teachers will provide, they aren't as good anymore (patch notes confirms this).

It's kinda just a face palm moment, like, really? I will admit I'm sometimes tempted. Just earlier today, I pallet stunned a killer. 2 things happened. 1. They had enduring. 2. They for some reason got teleported to my side of the pallet. I literally got hit twice in less than two seconds. But I stuck it out and it ended up being a great game. And even if it hadn't been a great game, I would've gotten more for staying than giving up and resigning the rest of my team to their untimely defeat.
I know what you mean. Had a game as survivor earlier, the first two people caught gave up on their first book with 5 gens left still. I had to run the killer round the map for over 5 minutes while the other guy got 3 gens done.

  • I agree with the whole view on Ochido, and the point that Noob is trying to change has already been made. But there are other DBD content creators who aren't toxic. Tyde comes to mind, and even Monte and Puppers. I've aslo heard of a small YouTube who used to do Shrine of Secrets builds but had to stop when the shrine was taken down.
Rude is one I've watched for a long time, even before I started playing. But that is why I didn't bring him up, because he isn't a toxic player like the more well known ones. Though I sincerely hope all can be returned to normal soon. And with the changes, the content, I feel like it's going to be a very active time of year.

I guess you make a good point. Those toxic content creators aren't going anywhere for a while though. Let's face it, unless the entire community screams for them to stop, they'll keep going.

  • Thanks to everyone who has put their input in. Just you are aware, I have lately been grinding my PC account, and only have to get Hag 3 more levels to get ruin, then I should be able to switch completely. I have spent money on the DLC for PS4 so I won't be leaving it altogether (can't get the money back and don't want it wasted). I only prefer PS4 somewhat in regards to there not being an after game chat. I hate people being salty just cause they've lost, so I really hate some of the "toxic" players who cant just accept a loss and say GG.

But I can work through that. Thanks again!
  • I agree with the 20second rule for exit gates! That's insanely good. I thought of something else though. I believe all killers should have No one escape death as an inbuilt ability. That would make the game so tense when all generators are powered, and give survivors a reason to not hang around. But I also thought of another one, where if you are downed in the exit gate area (behind the gate but still in the game) another inbuilt ability activates where the killer can outright mori.

Bit too much, but no one would stick around then.

  • General disruption is something. A fast moving killer that always switches targets and can cause the survivors to always be moving as a result can slow gens. Nurse, hillbilly can manage this easily of course, but other killers can as well. Yes, even freddy. Over alturism also slows gen progression. But honestly, these aren't garunteed to work. Hex: Ruin is one of the few perks that can truly slow the game down, and I myself aim to have it on every killer just so I don't have 5 minute games.

I can think of other ways to potentially slow the game, but the biggest point I'll make it this: a slow game will always equal more points for EVERYBODY, while gen rushing gives bigger all.

My good man you don't belong on the Dead by Daylight forum as your post isn't toxic enough. 😀

Anyway my only problem with the PS was controller size.  i haven't looked at the PS4 controller but the PS3 seemed small.  My hands seemed to want to cramp up after an hour on the PS3.  i even tried an off brand controller and couldn't seem to keep it connected to the system.  But PS4 had some great games.

i don't PC game since I sit most of the day and like to stand and move around a bit while I game.

I dont like being toxic, so its nice to see some appreciation :) I personally don't mind the controller for PS4, but if I am being honest, I have smaller then average hands... controllers aren't ever an issue for me. XD

People with small hands scare me

Hey now, I didn't say small. Just below average. Its still acceptable for me to do "JAZZ HANDS!"
  • I play on both the PS4 and PC. Even on the PC I use a controller though, an XBox One controller. I like it a lot better than the PS4 controller. I don't notice much of a difference to be honest. I think players on the PS4 tend to artificially deflate their rank more than on PC. For instance, I haven't played on the PS4 in about a month now and tried a few games the other day. I'm rank 20 on the PS4 obviously so I opt to use a killer I'm not that good with who has only a few perks. Big mistake, all I faced were "rank 20" try-hards with full on rank 3 perk loadouts, BNPs, and full map knowledge/awareness. Where as on the PC after the rank reset if/when I'm down around rank 20 it feels like I'm playing against rank 20 survivors.

That's just my experience though. Other than that I find they play just about the same. My PC version may be a bit prettier and have better frame rates but it's not that noticeable.

Ah I swear the PS4 community has more try hard then I'd like to admit. Although, I always hit rank 1 killer and at least try to hit rank 1 as survivor, only using ultra rare addons for killers occasionally (unless I play doc, cause he isn't great), and I never bring items or offerings as survivor unless I'm leveling them up, which I don't do a lot.

  • The wait is annoying, and I'm pretty sure I've already commented on this post, but let's be real. If the patch isnt live on PS4 before the 3rd, will we still get the anniversary blood point event? And if we don't, I'm sure the Devs will think of something to make up for it. Otherwise, this is one of the bigger patches, and comes with a lot of goodies. I'm fine with waiting, so long as they don't forget about us and ensure that this type.of waiting doesn't occur again, which they have said they will look into.
