None of the base characters are locked behind achievements. For Wraith and David King you need to finish the tutorial, but the rest are freely available.
For my friends game, the base characters are locked. They're on PS5, dunno if thats worth mentioning. Specifically Meg, Claudette, Jake, Nea, Bill, Ace and Feng.

They now increase the chances of you going to a specific map by 20%, and don't stack.
That means multiple Ormond offerings will still yield a 20% chance.
Different map offerings still individually grant a 20% chance, so 5 separate map offerings would guarantee that 1/5 of those maps will happen
So in that vein, with a map offering, would it the be a 20% chance of going to that specific realm/map and an 80% chance of going to any other?

Yep. The eye strain is real.

Never played Rainbow Six Siege, but what was it like having a health-only chapter? Did the whole experience feel better afterward? Asking for a friend.
It did in my opinion. Didn't feel like I was missing out on content, it really just made sense to have a health chapter. I believe at that point in time they had added 10-12 new operators? So introducing new guns, abilities and other mecanics, it made sense that they took some time off to revisit everything overall and adjust the balence on certain things accordingly.
With the next two chapter(can't remember what they're called) releases, they added an extra operater (so three operators in total x two), to make up for the fact that they didn't release any new content. They didn't need to, but it was cool that they did.

So coincidentally, both of my most wholesome moments happened on Lery's Hospital.
First one was a while ago. Was going against a Wraith and was having a really close game. At one point he was chasing me... Then the LB/L1 on my controller died. I couldn't run, only walk. Anyways, he hits me once, then just kinda looks at me and follows. Like he figured out that something was wrong. He downs me, then leaves me alone to find other people. I get healed back to injured, survivor runs off, but there is still gens to do. I jump on a gen and CANNOT hit a skillcheck. It was before you could rebind keys on controller. I keep blowing it up, he comes over, looks at me again and leaves. Sacrifices everyone except me, just watching the entire time. Walk my ass to the exit gate, leave, then send him a message afterwards explaining what happened and we both had a good laugh about it.
Second one was very recent. Was going against a Legion and it was one of those circumstances where they really wanted the 4k. You could tell. Anyways, during a chase, he downs me as I drop a pallet and he gets stuck in it. Survivor comes over and heals me to injured and runs off. I decided that I would hate to be in his position because of glitch and could have even understood if he DCed, so before he could, approached him to see if could hit me, no go, so I vault the pallet a couple of times and he was freed! Yay! He nods his head and goes off to find other survivors. He'll smack me every now and again for his frenzy. Gets down to him and I, had a challenge to escape though the gate so I take him to the door and point, nods head again, we go on a hatch hunt and we both find it, I nod my head, he closes it, I open gate and escape. He was on either PC or a different console, really wish we could have talked afterwards.

Dead Hard's intended purpose if dead on consoles, in that it says explicitly that you avoid damage upon using it. The number of times I have been downed with the exhaustion bar activated (from using DH) is countless. Unless it is fixed, the only purpose for it as someone mentioned above is to extend chases.
-
Yamaoka Estate. Dunno why, have played on that map so many times and know the layout really well. Always do poorly as both Survivor and Killer in spite of that though.

I got the achievement not too long ago, but as mentioned above it is completely outdated. The only reason I got it was because I happened to be the last survivor left, they messaged me saying they were gonna let me live, explained my situation and they LET me get it.
I had no doubt that I was gonna have to farm that achievement, which is bad. Even the longer ones like Huntress' hatchets and taking protection hits for recently unhooked survivors just accumulates by playing. Left For Dead is virtually impossible now that endgame has been added.
To add to what I said, "achievements" should be achievements. Not much of an achievement when you have to work with someone on the opposite team to get it. I don't know how you would update it at this stage of the game, but it certainly should be.

Why do you hate him so much?
For me, he is one of the most fun killers in DbD (playing and versing him)
If you want to discuss the Oni, give us a bit more input.
Discuss, no.
Vent, yes.

Myers with Scratched Mirror paired with M&A is an excellent combo. Even on an open map, if you stick to the walls and can predict where survivors will be looking, I'll usually average around 4 grabs a game.
-
Its more dependant on how you play in my opinion.
As survivor, whilst 9/10 times I won't need to use it, its always nice to have just incase I am getting tunneled.
As killer, my general rule (self implicated) is that I won't go after the person I just hooked so that everyone gets a chance to dance with the killer so to speak.
In its current form, its fine. More situational than anything.
-
Got this after the killer DCed
Me and my mate couldn't stop laughing
-
I played against a SWF group yesterday that had two people with OoO (for whatever reason) whilst I was going for the Adept Ghost Face achievement and successfully got it.
OoO is a double edged sword in that if you use it correctly, its great. If not, then like my game yesterday, you see the last survivor camping the hatch reveal themselves to you and its all over for them.
At the end of the day, if used right, it can be deemed very powerful. But most times (from my experience), it can be more of a hindrance than helpful.
-
Survivor: Yamaoka Estate. I just always have the worst luck on that particular map, I have no idea why.
Killer: Is more dependant on who I'm using most of the time, but think I have a fairly poor track record on Groaning Storehouse.
-
Have you tested a version of this Freddy where you start with the set amount of traps and can use the Dream Snares OR Fake Pallets? AKA both?
To clarify my question with an example, start with 8 traps, can place 4 snares and 4 pallets. The earliest placed trap is removed beyond that.
It just feels like using an add-on slot to have Fake Pallets INSTEAD of Dream Snares feels like a waste of a slot.
-
I got lucky tbh. Started the match and the killer immediately came to me, saw I was Laurie and must have figured out I was going for the achievement. They left me alone the entire match.
Knowing more about how her perks run though (as opposed to when I got lucky), playing fairly stealthily would work well. Keep your camera to the ground work on generators and only look at the killer if you are in a chase. This Apept achievement inparticular is much easily acquired in lower ranks as beginner/less verteraned killers aren't able to capitalize as much as what you would see at higher ranks.
-
I mean, Left Behind was real situational before and should remain that way.
An idea would be that if you are the last survivor in the game and the EGC is triggered, then display the aura of exit switches for a longer amount of time and possibly increase the opening speed of gates.
Again, just an idea. That way it remains situational just as before but still provides a good reason to run it.
-
Is Left Behind in line for a rework?
-
Cheers all!
-
@MPGamer18 likewise. Prior, the ranks might be spread out by about 5-6 levels. Now there are just huge gaps. There is no disconnect between new players and veterans.
-
@Zavri both facing and playing them is like, "Why do you exsist?"
-
@Khar a cuddle would be nice.
@Pike_Trickfoot sign me up son.
-
I play Doctor a lot and do use the 3 gen strat if I get to that point BUT I do chase survivors. The game has to end some way or another, so what you originally mentioned is definitely just keeping the game hostage. I would rather get points for chasing a survivor while the last gen is being done rather than have a half hour long game and survivors dcing.
-
@FireHazard Thank you!
-
For me, I will prestige a character when I'm running low on add-ons or offerings. It also depends on how many teachables you have unlocked, because if you have a specific build that you enjoy/prefer running, it can be a nightmare unlocking those perks.

An immediate escape no....... I think the cooldown from using the chainsaw would long enough for extra wiggle time not even including the charge time to use the chainsaw----> which for Billy is 2.5 seconds so with charge and miss that'd be like 6-7 seconds of wiggle.... itd need tweaks just to be viable to use and even then easily dodged not even warranting being a iri addon
I added the immediate escape idea, just for the main fact that (for the Billy at least) you can't just chainsaw straight to a hook or to the basement.
I absolutely agree with what you're saying though. I think your version would work perfectly for Leatherface, but not necessarily with Hillbilly.

Only if they are very noticeably trying to sandbag their teammates.

The ranking system is another problem entirely.The_Crusader said:Can I just say that this "lose 2 pips" system isn't very fair on new players as what happens is every who quits a lot ends up in green ranks, around 15 which is the lowest most can go. This means when you're new and working your way up, or if you only play casually and so don't play enough to rank up before reset - then these people are punished because they get put with all the disconnecters in their games.
Green rank survivor was so frustrating for me for this reason. Well also the fact that killers mostly camp and tunnel but this just made it worse.
I feel the quitters should be punished in a way that doesn't harm other players.
If it didn't reset and/or you couldn't derank, then there probably wouldn't be so many disconnects. Still A LOT, but not as many. -
Definitely all for being that level of strict with it, BUT, there would have to be some sort of way to distinguish who is DCing out of frustration/trolling and those who have been dropped because of ######### internet/game crashes/ect.SIlentCetra said:Honestly, there needs to be HARD penalties for this crap. Show ZERO mercy. Make them lose a ######### ton of rank. Give them Negative BP as well. Soft ban them for a minimum of 30 minutes to an hour PER DC. Have this increase if they continue to DC within a week time period.
1st offense: 30 min ban/-500 BP
2nd offense: 1 hour ban/-750 BP
3rd offense: 1 week ban/-1000 BPPeople would knock that crap off REAL fast.
Yes though, that level of punishment is absolutely necessary. Can report them, but as we know that still isn't doing #########. -
I mean, this event is just kinda there tbh. It doesn't feel like much of an event. I'm still playing how I usually play, just every now and again if I see a thing, I grab the thing and keep going.
Just feels really lazy. -
Likewise. Both bars are full and not registering as so. Cannot harvest the plants as survivor either.
-
I really like some of these ideas, especially Surveillance. It could be a really decent perk, the main thing that is lacking is that it doesn't track for long enough.
I also REALLY like that Monstrous Shrine buff, because as it is, just too situational. With the blindness and exhaustion status effect, at least those who go in there to raid the free chest would need to pick their spot more. -
Its all appreciated guys, cheers.
Whispers definitely sounds like a good one to use for her thanks to hiding the TR, have used it with a couple other killers.
Anything inparticular to avoid using? Like perks that could appear as useful with Amanda, but actually aren't? -
Dwight is a Senpai. He would fight the killer off alone using his training in Karate.Terrortot said:False, dbd dwight is left behind and a loser. Office dwight would outsmart the killer by killing the other survivors to show dominance.

I absolutely agree that it comes down to play style and probably experience. I'll still have the volume of the game playing through my headphones, but quite low. Enough to hear the audio queues for both sides anyways.Oblitiry said:
Depends on your mind set and own play style. Some killers can do just fine without needing to constantly "stress" themselves over needing to hear everything, even at red ranks.@Tsulan said:Curious how killers say that they can't afford to hear music while survivors blast all kinds of music.
Almost as if one side is constantly stressed and the other one has a relaxing match.
I can listen to music easily as a survivor as long as it has no lyrics. However if it's billy, LF, nurse, or spirit then I can't do it because I need to hear their abilities. -
Whatever I'm feeling like that day. I listen to a bit of everything and typically change the lyrics I'm singing along to match what I am doing in the game.
Small tip, Bohediam Rapsody is EPIC when getting chased by a killer. -
I've definitely played with plenty of people on both ends who DC when they see a Doctor especially. Personally, I really dislike facing Freddy just because I know it is going to be a LONG A** game. Always play the match though because.... Well, thats the game. The killers are supposed to be difficult and/or annoying.Mesme said:It could be a number of things but typically they are spoiled brats who either don't like the fact that they got down so fast and fear getting camped or tunneled or they flat out hate the killer that is being played! Like take this for example you are on console and it's the Hag and I've seen this where people will leave if it's the Hag or Doctor because they find them annoying.
Also some leave if the killer is too laggy which ironically is typically those two killers...
Anyways, I'm getting off point. Have played multiple matches as Trapper or Hillbilly and played against plenty of easier styled/easier to counteract killers, but players still DC after getting downed once. Even with fine connections (believe it or not, does happen on consoles sometimes lol).
I report them for clearly rage DCing, but it does nothing. I'll either see them in one or two games later and will do the same thing. -
...... Wot.Zagrid said:If you have had physiological damage from survivors as killer you are probably a killer main. But if you have done physiological to a killer then probably survivor main.
You mean like receive salt after a match? Pretty much every game haha but the community is a lot more toxic on the console versions, so I think if anything its just normal.
I just imagine the players I killed (that send hate messages) are predominantly Fortnight players 😂 -
Prior to playing on the X, I played it for several months on the original release Xbox One, on a TV and frame rate was fine then.only1biggs said:
If you truly believe that the "FPS isn't as bad as what people are saying it is", then you have issues. Some maps are manageable, but the FPS is awful and ALL consoles, not just the ONE X or PRO need some love.
Even last week, I went to a mates place and played DbD on both a regular one on a TV and a X on a monitor. The biggest issue I had was going back to playing it on a big TV instead of using a monitor. Frame rate, admittedly wasn't as good as the X, but it wasn't anything to demand refunds for.
Look, I can definitely admit that the console versions can be better all around. What I was trying to say from the original thread is that I would rather prioritize frame rate enhancement over graphics. Apologies if it came off the wrong way. -
The issue for us when it comes to getting higher res would be loading times (even for the X) and would probably run the risk of dropping more frames.
I definitely agree that the current FPS isn't as bad as what people are saying it is (even for the S), but at this point in time, I wouldn't want to risk losing anymore frames and ending up in a PUBG situation. -
I did preorder, but I play killer regularly now. Probably about on par with my survivor. Like, early days when it got released, I barely played the killer. Its only in the past 5-6 months that I decided to have a crack and from the beginning, being the killer was WAY easier than being survivor. Even as I get into the mid-higher ranks. I still have fun, but I challenge myself by mixing up killers and perks and am usually successful.Boss said:I see you said you pre-ordered immediately. Which means you got it day 1. Day 1 means everyone's learning. Everyone learning means they suck.
To me, you're definitely a Survivor main who plays Killer sometimes. Nothing wrong with that, that's just how i see it.
Probably making more of a case for killer main at the moment, but just trying to provide as much info as possible. -
I have to agree with this guy. I've faced plenty of people with BBQ & Chilli and even use it myself. 9 times out of 10, they're usually using it for the extra bloodpoints and as long as you're stealthy, the killer will usually miss you even if they decide to come to your position. Survivor only lights up for a few seconds, anything can happen after that.Mc_Harty said:If every killer is using the perk, then it should be easier for you to adapt to it.
Give it time. The only time BBQ is truly annoying is when you're facing the Nurse or Hillbilly.
BBQ can't see survivors that are ether within 40 meters of the hooked individual or if you position yourself right
behind a generator. It's not much but it helps.
