Oh also forgot to mention! It says “no internet connection.” But when I check my internet connection everything says it’s fine.

Are you on ps4, I've had that pop up a bit already and is annoying lol.

I mean yeah but it’s been three Damn days. Plus it’s not like it’s ever stopped anyone I get people who DC almost every other game esp if I’m playing killer. I rarely ever do it anymore and I’d get it if it was people who DC constantly get stricter penalties but i don’t see how having everyone on an even field actually PREVENTS DCs

And you may not have noticed a lack of DC's but that doesnt mean its not doing anything. And it's not there to make dc's magically disappear, it's there to discourage dc's. Im positive that dc's went down a huge amount since its been in the game.

Oh dont get me wrong, I completely understand your annoyance with this. Being banned for 6 hours is pretty stupid when you haven't dc'd in days lol.

You can still be tunneled if they come back and see you. On a map where there are tons of LOS blockers its a lot less likely but if they just see you running in the distance they can still come to tunnel you but if you've tried to heal yourself you're just screwed.

That's not tunneling though. Thats getting caught out of position or being caught by the killer in general. That's like calling it tunneling if the killer sees you in general. Ds was meant to protect you after getting off the hook if the killer chased you. But if you were successfully unhooked, got away and the killer just so happened to see you that's not tunneling.

I just saw someone reply the same thing I was gonna tell you lol. But is it really tunneling if you are the only survivor they see. At that point they ain't got no choice but to chase you because they would be making a dumb choice to let you go and just waste time looking for survivors who may or may not be there

  • DC penalties are there for a reason, and if you're upset over the 6 hour ban then with no disrespect all I can say is deal with it. They cant keep the grace period of the dc penalty system light because people will try to figure out how the bans stack up. All I can say is you wouldn't be in this situation if you never dc'd

Also sorry I almost forgot to answer the actual question lol. DC penalties are there to penalize any and all forms of DC's. If someone's internet died or something mid game they wont notice anything because by the time they load the game up the 5 min timer will be done or almost done. It starts off real light but gets really heavy and punishing the more you dc.

If someone has trash wifi and constantly gets dc'd out they are ruining the game for others so it makes sense there too to give harsher punishment.

While your situation is pretty unlucky you wouldn't be with a 6 hour ban if you didnt dc multiple times. Now you know for the future though

This thread is so much circlejerking with the devs lol that I'm bewildered why you guys even defend them. The main reason why I can't even drop pallets is the godtier "dedicated servers" connection and the amount of killers playing from the moon on the server I'm on that I've had better connection 32 floors below level ground. How are you guys going to defend the connection now?

then complain about your ######### internet instead of asking for nerfs. whats next? dead hard should get 10 seconds of invincibility frames because you occasionally get hit when using it?

can't wait to see your reaction when a swf squad uses the perk optimally, see you at rank 20

If they do I'll congrat them because they used 3 perks for fast healing. not like all of them benefit from the perk because it gets worse the more people are healthy. its a niche perk that you would barely notice an impact for.

Grow up and learn how to take criticism for your ideas. if you cant handle another persons opinion then hop off the internet for a while

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

I mean, think about it. Sure, it takes up two slots, but:

Undying tells you when a survivor is near a totem, retri tells you when they started working on it. retri also put them into the oblivious status if a dull totem is cleansed.

meaning you might have enough time to sneak up on the survivor without TR ever activating.

Combine this with M&A and/or Haunted Ground...

why m&a when you want to have no TR? and i think haunted grounds is a 50/50 if it works as intended. it could either not activate and now undying cant replace your totem because 2 are being taken by haunted. i dont see undying and haunted being a consistent choice, you dont want 2 hex protection perks on the same build

  • @joshuashep22 said:

why doesn't anyone seem to realise that it can increase your self heal and unhook speed by 54%? are you guys just not reading what it does?

why cant you seem to acknowledge how situational it is. that build won't matter if you are hooked, uninjured and doing gens. this is like saying any means neccesary is a great perk because its possible to double stun a killer. you need all 9 planets perfectly aligned on a blue moon night in a leap year to pull that off consistently. instead of being in denial you can try to bounce this idea off of others and flesh it out more because calling people rank 20s when they dont agree with you is pretty lame imo

BHVR hasn't earned the right to just be "believed" at their word. They've shown much dishonesty and shadyness to the community in the past. People are right to ask these sorts of questions.

Uhh, got any evidence? They have been pretty transparent about what they can answer.

Sure people can get mad at the game having a lot of bugs but that doesnt mean their company is shady and dishonest. I would assume the worst recent event is what they described as a legendary set but that aint an actual problem. Everyone knows why they are linked anyways.

Please do tell me when bhvr has been dishonest and shady

  • You forgot your tinfoil hat bud.

But honestly if you cant even believe their own words then either hop off the forums or dont play the game.

  • Honestly all i can say is you win some you lose some. Just like 4 randoms get slapped by a mori, it can be reversed and a random killer gets a swf death squad. Just shake it off and move onto the next game is my best advice

It's a solid perk on low tier, M1 killers like clown and wraith. It's just not very fun to go against as a solo survivor.

Personally I think it needs a rework and nerf, but that's just me.

That is very understandable but mind if i ask what about it is not fun to go against in your opinion? Right now I'm actually doing some tests. I personally never ran noed but I'm going to try it on plenty of m1 killers with. no 1shot downs built in. Im going for a very information orientated perk setup and having noed as my 4th perk. Made this post while waiting on queue lmao

  • Hoenstly if they do the mmr right. Getting higher mmr is gonna be easier. Due to dedicated servers the devs can track killer specific things and have the system check for them. Which means ranking up for killer will be easier the better you are as them

  • @piggygonemad said:

I'm not even mad about her power, i just dont understand the extra tools she gets for no reason at all. Why does she get a unique pallet break animation so you cant flashlight her during it? why does she go invisible when shes walking? It just lets her end loops easily because you cant see if she double backs if she gets lucky and goes invisible as she turns around. The spirit already has an insane power that negates the survivors skill and leave the encounter to a guessing game, does she really need to not have an animation when she vaults a window so you have no idea if which way you should loop?

Uhhhh she was given a vault animation ages ago. And spirit aint the only one who cant be blinded on pallets. I believe hag is also extremely difficult to blind at pallets too. Not to mention survivors shouldn't be wasting time blinding at pallets unless its a challenge.

The passive phasing is part of her basekit and its really not that bad. Just play safer at those areas and if she gets you there, remember she is a 110% killer. You should be downing to her power and thats part of it

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/171910/proposed-decisive-strike-change

DS should de-activate automatically in endgame (no tunneling possible there), when a survivor touches a gen, unhooks someone, heals someone, or when they are full healed themselves. That would cement its status as an anti-tunneling perk and nothing else.

But to be honest it wasn't created as one originally so i guess that might not be its purpose and no traction will be gained because that was never the intention to begin with. Right now its just a busted 60 seconds of godmode and i doubt itll change.

That second portion is exactly it on the dot. DS was never meant to be an anti tunnel perk. All the "rework/nerf" did to it was just add a 60 second timer to it. Before the nerf if could have been used the same exact way by saving DS. But everyone used it on their first down and weren't smart with it. If anything the change only made the bad plays with it impossible and forced you to use it at smarter times.

  • @DwightOP said:

As majority remembers, bloodlust got added to the game 2016/2017 to band-aid fix terrible map design and insanely strong tiles.

But slowly, bhvr is reworking and creating more and more maps with very short unsafe loops. Bloodlust is slowly becoming outdated and on those maps it's just overkill.

I'm wondering IF and WHEN we will see bloodlust nerfed or even removed. Waiting till the last map is reworked is certainly to long, it might take years.

I believe i saw a comment a short bit ago where they confirmed there are no bloodlust changes anytime soon.

So its here to stay for a while.

But on topic with newer maps, i feel bloodlust is still very necessary. Just look at every map besides hawkins and some versions of springfield. You can find spots scattered across most if not all of them where you will be forced to get bloodlust before hitting a survivor.

And i also feel that bloodlust is a decent soft counter to exhaustion perks aside from dead hard.

And honestly even hawkins is safe at times if the survivors know what they are doing. If you ignore pallets for too long you'll wind up realising you're in a pseudo infinite and start being forced to break pallets and eat pallets for days. You really shouldnt even be in bloodlust either because you will be breaking pallets a lot. And when you are in bloodlust, just think of how badly it will be if you never had bloodlust.

Personally i feel bloodlust aint as busted as people make it out to be, especially when you should eventually end up on a hook if the killer wants you on a hook.

Feathering is used to mindgame Survivors at loops in order to make sure you actually get something out of the resulting flick. The cooldown change make it impractical to do this and impossible to snowball in the hypothetical event that you manage to do it anyways.

How about we just wait and see if the overheating actually hurts these things in the first place. As the person you responded to said, i dont think this is a nerf to billy mains. It just makes rookie mistakes actually punishable and at the end of the day billy walks out with an addon rework with pink addons finally

  • Then get another. Yes it sucks but i dont see you being compensated for a 3k bp item.

Knowing this community, salty killers would ######### talk SWF players for being SWF if they didn't risk to look like idiots if there is no SWF.

Honestly i feel this is why. The end game chat will just get more opportunities at being toxic. And it can also add more "hate" to swf groups. If you had 3 games as killer and lost 1 but noticed there was 3 swf icons you'd just blame swf and not look back on your mistakes as often.

Besides if a killer really wanted to know they can always attempt to ask. And generally you can tell when you face a swf group too so its not needed as much

Nothing technically. It just usually leads to a miserable experience for someone in the match. If survivors play optimally and finish gens in 4 minutes the killer won't have a good time. Conversely a killer that tunnels people out of the game means a bad time for those survivors.

But this game does not have a clear win con. If we go with pips, a 4 man slugfest or tunnel off hook will be harder to pip if you just 3 hooked most people and did lots of chases.

Same for survivor, a 5 min game will be like a black pip at best for a couple survivors and with very little bp gains too.

I try my hardest to win but i don't tunnel or camp, so what am i? I

How will you know ,,they only meant to save time"?

Besides that, getting survivors tormented can take way longer than hooking.

Also just because some players use it to tunnel, it doesnt mean he deserves a nerf. That like you would want to nerf leatherface because he can camp too easy.

This right here. Lets punish the minority of PH players who use him incorrectly but at the expense of the players who actually play him properly. Everyone and their mom knows tunneling is just not as efficient, which is why good players dont do it that often at all. Without the aura reading, the killer will lose more pressure because the cages give him valuable information on where everyone is at.

The game gives the survivor ample time to escape after being caged and its only their fault if they get caught again.

By translation if spinechill is unhealthy because you have to moonwalk to gens, then ds is unhealthy because you have to slug to avoid after hooking someone, and bt is unhealthy because you have to avoid hitting someone after they're unhooked, since there is no real way of knowing if the perks are in play without them activating. Just because something applies an effect without the killers explicit knowledge doesn't inherently make it unhealthy for the game persay. Not that I fully disagree that it's effects can be a bit strong, especially combined with resilience.

Except those perks also have multiple more counters. By not having a TR you counter bt, which there are a decent amount of TR related perks. DS can be worked around in a reasonable way, by not going for them after they get unhooked, or slug them. My problem with spinechill is how there is no inherent way to counter it, and most the time you will never know if they even have it. You'll eventually find out they have DS or BT if you activate it. Spinechill doesnt do anything of the sort and you'll be left in the dark on if it was dedicated that hurt you or spinechill and resilience.

I do see where you are coming from though but spinechill counter is not on par with those perks due to them having counters built in

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

You mean 9 killers can't get free hits?

Good, if Nurse, Huntress, Oni, Spirit, Billy, Bubba can't get free hits then why should Stealth killers?

If you're so phobic about survivors running Spine Chill, moonwalk to the gen. I do it several times, even as Nurse, it hides my Red Stain when I'm porting and I get free grabs, A LOT of times.

Free hits? When the killers whole power relies on if they get a hit or not then I'd say thats kinda a problem. When does bubba get a free hit? Hes as basic as they come. And the killers that are part of that 9 are mostly stealth killers with nurse and spirit mixed in.

And not to mention stealth killers getting their first hit is part of their gimmick. They can be stealthy for a first hit, but gotta actually down them normally.

I think you forgot when i said I'm fine with the perk. And when you have to move differently on the off chance of a player using a perk that they may or may not have, thats the issue with it. There's no real counter to it even though it does so much.

Personally i feel at launch the skillcheck increase was supposed to be a harmful thing. You know when the killer is looking at you but at the cost of harder skillcheck.

  • @Ghoste said:

I will happily face Spine Chill instead of BT, DS, DH, SB, Unbreakable, etc., etc.

Also, Spine Chill gives a 6% speed boost. Freaking 6. Barely makes a difference unless you use Resilience too, and then you're using half your perk slots and you have to stay injured for the effect. It's quite fair compared to other meta perk builds.

Being injured aint that difficult if you are being chased, and that 6% with resilience is a nice 15% boost, which also effects vaults.

I'm fine with the perk but it doesnt look like you read through what i said, its everything else spine chill does that makes it unhealthy. And unhealthy doesnt mean OP or meta. I wouldn't mind going against the perks you brought up because they have a real counterplay. Spinechill doesnt.

  • @1nsignia said:

    Isn't huntress for free?

Only on console. On pc huntress, hag, nurse, and doc are dlc. Not sure on nurse tho

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

I'd be fine with removing it's interaction with vault speed tbh. The fact it "counters" Spirit makes me happy because I hate her and any counter not in the form of sound bugs brings me incredible joy. Them combine Premonition and Spine Chill together to get an exact location I'm fine with, since one of those perks will not help them in a chase and is only good if they're immersed. They'd still have better info with Object though.

Alternatively just make it light up and increase skill check rates, remove the action speed buff completely (idk, make it so skillchecks appear 10% more often and are 20%/15%/10% harded) and just make it a perk to counter stealth. Like small game is for Freddy, Trapper, and Hag, or Slippery Meat is for... Trapper, and Object is for Freddy (kinda), Spine Chill can be the definitive counter to stealth killers, could be helpful could not be. Also moonwalking/crab walking to gens helps a lot.

I'd be fine with vault speed build being gone too because it just makes some vaulting locations too strong. About spirit, i personally wouldn't care because if she had a real built in counter then her power would be useless. Sucks how she is in a tricky spot where if touched she is either too op or too bad.

Oh that skillcheck idea could be nasty fun with that one Tap perk lol.

Honestly i feel if a perk is so strong that players have to literally walk differently on the chance that a player has it, its not healthy. Like precautions against stuff is cool and all but i see it like how you basically had to slug the obsession when old DS was a thing, unless they were near a hook. Thats kinda why i didnt bring up that strat because it being a thing is why i consider spinechill unhealthy.

  • Its legit just a skin that costs 5 dollars more than a normal skin. I dont know why people are so butt hurt over it either. And all I see are "no new voice, no new perks, no real name" when there is an obvious reason to it. Say it with me now. Its JUST A SKIN. Skins dont get perks and #########, characters do.

  • Sadly this is probably intentional. Some killers just earn more bp than others. PH just sucks to earn against

It bypasses DS, is the thing. So you can hook someone to struggle, then as soon as they're unhooked, pursue and mori them out.

But thats intended. So whats the problem? Its practically confirmed that it is indeed a bug because i have yet to mini mori someone who was not tormented

Id say 10ish minutes or so.

    https://youtu.be/DrSxpH8u23Y

This is it. Normally there would be a 3 second cooldown before finding a match if you cancel. I can just mega spam it with no delay.

Killer queues get pretty long right when a new killer comes out, people want to try them out. Give it a week and it'll be back to normal. For now it does take a while to get into a game until the survivor mains come out at night, then it's fast again.

I dont think thats it, i legit cant find a match at all. I even waited a bit for survivor queue times too. Yesterday it was all fine and dandy, finding games in minutes lol

  • @oxygen said:

I'd honestly be surprised if this wasn't changed, not sure exactly how it'd get changed though.

It seems pretty clear that while situations where survivors really shouldn't save are fine, situations where they straight up can't no matter what (outside of weird rituals where you drop/pick up items to clip into the killer, that was a thing with "classic facecamping" afterall so maybe that still works)

You sorta forgot how uncommon this situation will be. The cages are like always 9 years away from PH and survivors will rescue them faster than you can get there 9 out of 10 times.

  • I'll pass, my only issue was horrible sensitivity. Now that its fixed I'm playing better than ever and loving it.

This would be a valid excuse from the team but we have Legion AND GhostFace who both raise their knifes up like Myers does in 3rd person but its visible to the killer as well. I'm surprised they haven't changed it yet.

thats propbably to signal their power is active. also do note that they were made wayyyyyy later on compared to myers. maybe we will see this change when they do an addon pass for him

  • Funny how the game actually prefers killer's actions over survivors. Their hits will always register as a hit even if it didnt look like much of a hit on the survivors side. So its not the game. Its something more technical idk lol. But dont blame the game or devs for that when you make false statements

  • @Cheers said:

The devs have said that they don't want to do this as it would make there be meta survivors which the devs don't want, and the game possibly pay to win.

Additionally, anyone who put alot of time into a certain survivor could feel as if they wasted it if they don't like their ability, leading to frustration.

That is precisely what i told him, he said it wont matter because killers have abilities and are also unique. He also compared this potential thing to an update in siege where they changed something and everyone was annoyed but it rolled over quickly. He says the same thing will happen here.

Apparently my killer main bias was strongly showing when i was telling him how unlikely and bad of an idea it was.

Oh if possible could you tell me what side you play most?

  • I would only nod when i think something funny or stupid happened. If i were to down a survivor, who kept on getting my attention, really fast then I'll nod. They failed miserably at it and i feel a need to nod lol. I dont nod out of pettiness or to bm. Just out of fun stuff lol

She's DECENT, but not great. Somewhere in the middle, but can seem stronger when someone really understands her. Needs small buffs to parts of her stealth ability, like faster crouch walking or dash charge.

    Super fun though.

Advice? Slug those with traps on if you run into them. Don't go out of your way though.

Thats honestly what i think too, she's never useless and has the potential to snowball as well. Bigger maps are actually a double edge sword on her as well because of the boxes being so far apart. Where most killers suck at she can make a profit. Almost every pallet becomes a mindgame with her dash and not to mention it can do some pretty funky stuff in certain situations lol

  • @StardustSpeedway said:

I personally love her. I've been playing her a lot more recently and I can delay most matches to my liking. Her add ons can be quite nasty too depending on the combinations you use. Her dash attack is great at loops and since I use STBFL on her, hitting the obsession with a dash attack doesn't take away my stacks. Very underused killer IMO.

Honestly i recommend ditching stbfl on her, with how reliant she could be at times on it you'll be wasting time going for the stacks and it'll generally wind up a net loss of time saved. Sure it's great and all but you'd want a decent amount of your hits from the dash lol. It's still a great choice but I'm just reminding you of what i call "stack vision" where you'll be hella hungry for those sweet stacks lol
