He already has it base kit, both when he's in and out of chase. The add-on just buffs it from the 7.5% haste base kit, to 12.5% haste total (7.5% base kit + 5% from add on)
Thanks, I've just been thinking of easy ways to bring lower tiered Killers up. I havent faced a Trapper in forever.

They mean that they aren't going to go out of their way to prioritise the Survivors' fun (i.e. not tunneling or camping). You've misunderstood their quote.
In an event with a bunch of side quests for cosmetics and rewards. I'm literally opening portals and farming crystals and we are tunneling and camping?
You're telling me, tunneling and camping is fun?

The new craft crystals challenge was absolutely miserable to do compared to the 15 void hooks.
For real, why are we slugging in an event we should be chill farming?

I just don't understand why they are sweating the event so hard. I'm trying to farm void crystals and they out here slugging...

The devs balance for a 60% kill rate. So that's actually quite bad when compared against their target.
That's true but this is an overall data point. Some Killer's are at a 60% with lower Killer's bringing the average down.
Don't get me wrong, it probably should favor Killer. If Killer mains aren't able to control most of their games in the power role, Killer's will burn out and we have no game.

Lost all matches, but certainly game some survs heart attacks. XDI considered doing that, then decided I didn't care enough to complete that quest.

The 4man boogieman is not real. You don't become good by playing on a team. You might just be a potato on a team of other potatoes who like each other. The truly skilled 4mans are rarer than people act like they are.
That's me and my friends, lol. We don't really 4 man anymore but Lord, we were bad, lol!

You're looking into the downvotes too much, there is always gonna be someone who is being negative haha
No I do think it's valid to point it out, coz there is a lot of casual 4 mans who aren't good at the game too, the most toxic assumption this games community has is everyone in a 4man is tryharding lolI was honestly shocked that it wasn't higher. I thought 4 man's were much stronger. As somone else pointed out high MMR seems to perform better but still under 50%.
There are some variables like swf is less likely to leave somone behind. So could their escape rate be higher? Possibly but by staying for their teammates they can end up giving more Kills.
When it comes to the "high MMR" there is even debate there between who is actually skilled and sweaty or just casual.
The game does feel sweaty and repetitive. I personally play a lot of meme and side quest builds but it often feels like I'm throwing and should be sitting on Gens.

Problem is what this games consider "high MMR". There are many videos about this but the soft cap of MMr is very easy to achieve.
The 4 comp surv swf is the same "high mmr" as 4 friends that won some game again some killers. The same applies to killer as the pig main that plays casually is in the same mmr bracket that the comp nurse doing winstreaks or Momo's blight.
Really, the matchmaking is so atrocius that is hard to discuss balance with data since what BHvr calls "High MMr" players is so heterogenous that its hard to draw a solid conclusion from it.
Yeah, unfortunately from what I recall when we had a better MMR that reflected the skill gap, ques went too long. I don't know what the answer is. Is it more important to wait for a good match or just get in a match?

Yes, and that’s what a lot of people, especially people who only play survivor, have a problem with. I can understand where they are coming from because everyone is going to have a different opinion on what the target kill rate should be.
Just my personal opinion, as someone who plays both sides about equally (actually a bit more as survivor) the 60% kill rate / 40% escape rate feels balanced to me. I remember when kill rates were lower before the infamous 6.1 patch and playing killer felt much worse than it does now. A lot of other killer players clearly felt the same as I remember 10-15 minute survivor queues every single time I would play in the peak evening times. Now, the survivor queue times during peak hours seems much more reasonable. I still get instant killer queues, but survivor queues are usually no more than 5 minutes. We’re never going to get broad agreement about whether the target kill rate should be 60% or something much higher or lower, but it’s a lot easier to respect differing opinions when they come from players who have the experience and perspective from both sides.
I dont disagree. I think the game actually has to favor Killer for game health. But the solo survivors will suffer for it. You have to accpet the challenge of the hardest role in the game as Solo.

As opposed to just using your own personal experience and the (completely unverifiable) anecdotal experiences of others you see positing on TikTok and other forums to draw broad conclusions about game balance?
Some people love to dismiss the stats because they don’t support their preferred narrative. But these same people never suggest any alternative or better way to draw conclusions about game balance other than “solo queue is not fun for me and also I saw some people on TikTok say that they don’t have fun in solo queue either”.
The data is from Japan and all the relevant people have benn talking about it. Seems relevant enough to me. I don't think the data is skewed. I appreciate the reply for high MMR data. Which still shows the game slightly favoring killer.

4-man SWF escape rate across all MMRs is actually lower than solo queue LOL. The only outlier here is high MMR 4-man SWF and that makes sense. Coordinated, experienced teams are very difficult to deal with and get more than 1-2 kills, especially if you’re not playing with S-tier killers.
I draw two conclusions from this: 1) solo queue is not nearly as bad as some people here make it out to be. I can speak from experience on this as well as my lifetime escape rate is 43%, and probably higher more recently as I was much worse in my early days than I am now. 2) 4-man SWF really only “breaks the game” at the high MMR range. This makes sense as coordination alone really doesn’t help teams win consistently. It’s coordination plus the ability of every survivor on the team to take killers in extended chases.
Interesting, the high MMR actually makes sense. Still less then 50%. SO even at the highest MMR 4 man SWF still slightly favors Killer?

80K playing on Steam alone and they can't utilize MMR, yea okay. Maybe it's because the player numbers are inflated with bots. When I play, I see the same accounts constantly as both Killer and Surv, even if I switch my role it's just the same people, as if there's only a pool of 30 people in my server region. I've played games with 5 server regions with a max of 5k people playing in total and have seen more varied accounts than I do in DBD.
I'm just saying that a few years back, they actually tried to commit to a better MMR system. Everyone agreed that the matches felt more to their level of play but que times went to hell. I can only speculate as to why.
-
I get down voted for reposting collected data… interesting.
-
My favorite is the comeback for every unhook. I call them, the come backers. They always come back.
-
This was basically my thought on the subject. You are playing the event to farm and complete your quests.
But everyone is still trying to play the game and banging Gens and 4ks.
-
The last time I remember they tried to pair people by MMR, the que times got really bad. I think this is the heart of why they can't commit to a consistent match by MMR.
-
The game can be very unforgiving, especially for new players. I'll provide a couple clear examples quickly.
Survivor chooses the wrong generator at the start of the match and was Aura revealed by Lethal Pursuer. Gets stealth grabbed by a Killer they didn't know they were facing and nobody is coming to unhook them.
Killer decides to commit to that first chase and is now being looped at Main by a 5k hour sweat and has already lost the match.
-
So what you're describing is, the solo survivors aren't having fun…
Shocking.
-
I would have kept playing Evil Dead if they didnt abandon it.
-
I managed to get three void hooks in one game with Bubba.
I don't even play Killer much.
I realise my MMR on Killer is low but holy crap, I'm face stomping newbies.
Last one gets hatch if they don't DC, ; )
-
The power creep is real, leaving most of the Killer Line-up in the dust.
And some Killer mains are so good they can stomp solo's with anyone.
A strong Swf can challenge most Killer's.
Add in the randomness of the maps and it's a complete mess of unbalanced chaos.
But hey, the kill rate favors Killer and Solo Survivor makes you want to uninstall.
-
I think he referring to why the Survivors are at such disadvantage in the Void.
-
Well, after facing one Wesker and two Ghouls was enough for me to log off for the day.
-
I been going to the void to get crystals put on gens. It doesn't do much because the sweat Killers don't seem interested in anything other than a 4K.
-
The Devs...
"Lets nerf Tenacity!".
-
My bad, it starts with one token.
-
I thought you needed to earn tokens for Distortion to work now. How do you do that at the start of the match?
-

For 0,0001% of the community?
Solo que is not that low, can't be. I do wonder if the player pool can be split and maintain health. Perhaps putting everyone in a lobby, taking turns as Killer would be enough to improve the community and game experience.
-
I once had an idea where you could que for solo quick play that would take 5 players and choose one of them randomly to be Killer. I think this would take a lot of the sweat out of the Killer role because you will often be facing someone who isn't primarily focused on Killer maining. Think of this as casual quick play for solos.
Killer mains could still que for Killer only role but you will be paired against SWF que. If a SWF has 3 players, one player can be grabbed from solo que. Think of this as more competitive mode.
-
It's rough, sometimes unbearable stinky Killers.
But if you enjoy a challenge and use a good information Perk (Kindred), it can be fun.
Just don't expect to escape and it opens up all kinds of build options, lol! (R.I.P. team)
-
I think blocking the hook notifications for Killer's per the PTB is a good idea and would at least force the Killer to actually camp the hook and give up pressure if they want the hook trade.

Yes thats why these changes are going to be an issue they are going to be abused by SWF and low rank killers will suffer. They should just let killers abandon if the gates open or if thats too much after a certain timer. No thought about killer enjoyment in the changes whatsoever even if weak links did need something to give them a chance.
Agreed, Killer should be able to abandon once the gates are open. You shouldn't have to chase Survivors out of the match. Never understood why the "T bagging" offended Killers so much other than wasting the time to get the Survivors to actually leave the trial.
I m the kind of player that would wait at the exit to give the Killer a free hits.

Enough with the divisive “us vs them” posts making broad generalizations about people who play killer. These types of posts are by far the biggest source of toxicity on these forums and I hope the mods finally do something about them because they’ve been especially bad since the recent changes were announced. We wouldn’t see these if people bothered playing both sides.
It seemed relevant because a lot of Killers seem upset that a consistent 4k strategy might not be so consistent anymore.
My argument is it never should have been consistent in the first place and should actually be hard to kill all 4 Survivors.
-
@ChaosWam said:
I'm one of the ones who kinda wants an update like this to go through, with the right adjustments, but this kinda argument ain't it.
You're basically upset the killer role wants the goal of winning. We don't get mad when survivors want to escape, I hope, so why are we mad about killers wanting a 4k?
This is also coming from someone who legitimately loves playing Insidious Unknown for the jumpscares and not the win.I don't expect to win as Survivor. But you should expect the full 4K on average?
-
@Raptorrotas said:
God i wish people would shame survivors for trying to escape like they do killers for trying to do their goal. Which is killing all 4 survivors, for the people who apparantly forgot.
Cant get how this hypocrisy is still going strong in year 10.
You're making my argument for me. Consistent 4k should have always been an exceptional game. I've already admitted I expect to die in my trial. I certainly don't expect all 4 Survivors to escape!

I know that playing soloq can be annoying (trust me ive been there ) but this is not the way to make the casual experience better.
I think what is really needed in DBD is a much better in depth tutorial of how to play the game e.g. how to loop, best times to heal, when to unhook and all of that not just here gen here killer here pallet, a link to Otzdarvas channel would be far, far better than this games "tutorial".
A communication update like a ping wheel and comms so there is a more level playing field then just having SWF and soloq in two different realms.
Did you see JRM made a "what not to do" video for BHVR? LOL!
They are telling us to Git Good! ; D

@Fluffyxox said:
Failing to get 4K means being tbagged at gate. Survivors will stand in the gate for the entire EGC just to do so. This behavior is one of the primary reasons referenced when "killer anxiety" is talked about. Being shamed for not "winning". If you think the 4K expectation is because its easy, and that killers are complacent with "being op", then you have less than 10 hours as killer.
You just described why most of my games are already against top teir Killers with the same builds. Because it delivers 4k. I've maybe put in 100 hours as Killer and about 1500 hours total.
-
@Abbzy said:
Idk 4k is a option and I go for it if I want it and I know where the last survivor is so I leave the other one on the ground but some killers do it too much in higher survivors alive numbers but now one thing is sure they wont do it because antislug fixes this issue but its straight nerf to oni and twins. One killer thats strong but fair he needs to gain his power and can be still looped normaly (oni) and other killer who has like 5 mains, is the least played killer in the game and his whole kit is just slugging tool with some antiloop in for of victor and no option to get across the map to downed survivors without being m1 killer speed (115%) and its no one else than twins.
What I'm getting at is 4K was too common and easy to achieve for too long and the strategy to achieve it consistently is often boring and stale. But the expectation is there when really 4k should have always been the exceptional outcome, got lucky or played a very good game. The Killer community, those who play Killer seriously expect to 4k consistently.
In contrast, as a solo Survivor, I expect to die and it's a happy GG if I actually make it out of the trial.
-
Great Collab idea!
-
The kill rate basically stood at 50% to 60% in favor of Killer so obviously it needed to scale towards survivor. It's my opinion that the game does need to slightly favor Killer for game health. The problem is in the extremes, skilled Killers vs. sloppy solo's.
-
It can feel that way sometimes. In my opinion the gameplay has to favor in Killer to an extent. Killer's have to be able to win chases, get downs and be effective or else nobody would want to play and new players would suffer so much frustration that they would not enjoy it and we would have nobody to play against.
Some people are really good at Killer some Killers are really powerful. You combine the two, lets say Blight with a 10k hour Killer main. You are probably gonna lose. Accept it and move on.

oh okay if you’re looking for speed boost to sabo Leader(Dwight perk) is way better than spine chill imo.
Leader increases other Survivors I thought?
-
The extra info might be handy but I generally don't go the save unless the downed survivor is close enough. I don't completely throw the match to setup the Sabotage. I will leave a generator if my teammate is close enough.
The Spinechill boosts my Sabotage an extra 6% which can be clutch at getting the hook down before I get hit.

agreed inner focus, bond, or empathy would be better for getting in there. Which I think is their point of spine chill, but I’m not sure.
@stikyard why spine chill?
Spine chill gives me extra 6% for Sabotage as the killer is almost always looking at me while I do it.
-
@HeroLives said:
I mean when it works it’s amazing but when it doesn’t you cost the team the game because you are another person not on a gen. 5/10
Fun though 8/10Yeah, the good plays are worth it but I know the feeling of possibly throwing. I don't take it so seriously though and dropping a hook in front of the Killer carrying your mate feels soooo good!
They usually drop them and chase me, lol. Definitely fun!
-
It's just a funny meme that I think of when the killer returns to the hook to chase and down me again, lol!

Probably DH has to stop survivors from moving unless killer hits him, as long as there is i-frame and can move while that time, they can still safely loop palette one more time.
Remember that if they are broken now, all they really have is that Dead Hard. Yes, they get it once but have to deal with exhaustion. The Dead Hard will not always time well for the Survivor or give them the same kind of distance as being hit.
