  • Hook markers exclusively help killers that don't want to tunnel/kill a survivor yet. Someone interested in tunnelling only needs to remember hook states on 1 survivor, something players already do, very easily. Someone who is trying to keep a survivor alive or don't want to tunnel has to track hook states for the entire team, and it gets exponentially harder to track when survivors use the same character and skin. You're obviously frustrated by recent matches, but please reconsider your opinion on that change.

  • Everyone? Who is everyone? The consensus from the PTB was shes around A tier. You're just making a bad faith argument. Very few players actually played on the PTB and with any new strong killer, people are going to suck at looping her day 1 on live because nobody knows what is safe and when its not. At least wait a week before complaining.

  • RPD is Dredges worst map. Absolutely abysmal locker placements, when there even are any.

  • This just in; new update supposedly adding new lockers. 0 new lockers on RPD. Just played it

I suspect, its a combination of factors.

    1) The game is horrible as a new survivor, so they quit. The game is horrible as a solo q survivor, so they quit or SWF up. The result is constant increasing average skill of the survivors that remain.

    2) Many killers use highly effective but cheap mechanics to advance through the MMR probably faster than they would otherwise.

    3) Power creep in recent killers makes all the old killers outclassed.

    4) Everything a survivor could do has been nerfed, leaving the only real strategy to hammer down on generators.

This results in ever increasing match difficulty, especially acute with older killers.

All insights BHVR will adamantly deny.

  • Oh hey another 4 4e's to the pile. I'm so sick of this. Praying this game dies. Every other asym horror died from empowering survivors and gutting killers and I hope this one goes with them.

  • Failing to get 4K means being tbagged at gate. Survivors will stand in the gate for the entire EGC just to do so. This behavior is one of the primary reasons referenced when "killer anxiety" is talked about. Being shamed for not "winning". If you think the 4K expectation is because its easy, and that killers are complacent with "being op", then you have less than 10 hours as killer.

So who is your best killer and what is your kill rate over those games (if that's trackable on Nightlight idk)?

Evidence was given previously in the form of large scale average results (kill rate), as well as high end outlier performance (winstreaks). Both of these point were ignored with no evidence presented as a counter.

my top 7 most played killers (around 25 games played each) sit at 80% kill rate. Across all games 50% are 4K, 20% 3K, 10% 2K, 8% 1K, 5% 0K. However similar to how I don't find BHVR's kill rates an objective indicator of killer strength due to how prevalent giving up is, I would consider my stats only semi reliable. We're effectively only capable of discussing subjective trends felt from playing the game because of how unreliable kill rate is for measuring role strength, like @Rulebreaker mentions. Do you disagree with that, and consider kill rate indicative of role strength?

When you cite insane winstreaks, they call them outliers. (Even though no comparable streaks happen for survivors.)

When you cite averages they'll call them misleading. (These really are a good metric because you can clearly see it change from closer to 50% to pushing 60%, or higher on some killers)

If you post yourself playing killer and winning they'll call you an outlier or not high mmr.

There's no evidence you could provide that they will accept.

For the past 3 months, I have been recording my match history with Nightlight and have played mostly killer. (around 240 games) Somewhat earlier than when I found out about it is when I returned to DBD after years. Over this time period, the amount of 4Ks and how many 4Ks in a row gets lower as the games become more recent. This is my MMR plateauing, as I'm facing survivors that are capable of escaping vs me with few hooks more frequently. At this point I 1K as frequently as I 4K, and similarly, 4Ks are frequently because 1 survivor just gives up and its a 1v3, while 1-0K are frequently when I play against survivors I can't even get 5 hooks vs. These are my stats alone, not reflective of the game at large, but its clear to me at least killer is not nearly the power role people claim. I feel the games being harder than before, its not imaginary.
Claiming killers will invent any excuse to ignore "evidence" is ignoring the conversation and saying "HA I win, you disagree with me thus you're wrong." and well, ironically exactly what you claim everyone else does.

  • Gens speeds are so fast a 4 pallet chase is 3 gens done. It's actually insane to me how many people cope thinking slowdown is useful at all. You need it to even keep up. Killer sided game my ass.

If bad players are the reason why do bad survivor players go killer and walk a 4k every game… maybe.. just maybe and this may shock you, the game is heavily unbalanced and weighted so strongly to killers that survivor is a pointless part of the game now.

You're so beyond wrong about that its insane. Playing survivor is the easiest stress free ######### on the planet. Gen speeds are so unbalanced that if the killer doesnt bring 3-4 slowdown, you can pop 5 gens within 4 minutes. You don't even need to be good at looping, a 4 pallet chase is 3 gens done.

Mori can be applied to the last survivor. There are at least two problems with this.
    1. A survivor can be killed by this toxic method even if he was never hooked. I get that you guys like killers and all that, but the game needs to smell a little bit of balance, right?
    2. You, the developers, if by some miracle you are reading this post, which I highly doubt, are literally cultivating bad sportsmanship by offering to kill the last survivor for free. Instead of encouraging a "hatch for the last surv standing" culture you're literally telling killers "dude we love that you tryhard and slug players for 4K".
    3. Thanks to you and this "wonderful" update, playing as a survivor has become even more sad, and even more so being the last one standing.

The whole mori mechanic and the whole phenomenon is toxic. How could you think that such content wouldn't be abused and used for the most vile purposes? Oh yeah, you probably thought "let the players watch a cool mini-show" but that's far from true. In fact, mori is a manifestation of pure hatred and disrespect to player. In particular, it becomes even more vile because the survivor can do nothing about it? There is not a single mechanism that would be able to protect the survivor from the toxic mori.

Mori is also OP because the killer literally gets immunity from hook sabotage, blinding and other tricks that survivors use to save their teammate. Before you make a conclusion about anything, please read the following: I play both sides and I never use mori. I even try to ignore it as much as possible in the blood web. And I don't understand how anyone can like mori, but okay, everyone has their own opinion on this matter, I'm sharing mine.

So why is mori toxic? (attention here - MY opinion)
First of all, as I said, it is simply disrespectful to the player. Yes, this is a game about killing and surviving, but not about complete control of one side (killers) over the other (survivors). Although in today's reality it is, but that is not the point. Killers can do whatever they want to survivors, which they regularly do: make them bleed for 10 minutes, give false hope and then kill them and are very proud of it, and so on. As a player for a survivor, you have no control over yourself. You are completely dependent on how good a player you got on the killer and this is not normal, this is not how the game should work in my opinion. When I play as a survivor I mostly play solo and you can imagine the level of frustration that I get after each match. Not only killers have control but also "teammates" too. They can just sell you, not unhook you, bodyblock you, and a lot of other things that you won't have control over. But I've already gone into that. The point is that giving people too much power over other people is a bad idea from the start (and let me remind you that you're not playing against soulless bots, you're playing against real people who also have emotions just like you). Those who have too much power over others start to behave disgustingly, which we see in many killer players. I won't bring up tunneling and slugging here, otherwise I could talk about it for too long. The topic here is mori and mori is toxic. You can't resist it, it's OP and just bad sportsmanship.

Possible solutions to problems: just add an offering/ability or whatever so that the survivor has a CHOICE and a CHANCE. And that's it. It's that easy and simple. Mori-enjoyers won't take the offering/ability if they want to be killed that way (people can be weird, especially in this game), and those who don't want that will finally get a chance to die normally. I personally prefer to hide in the nooks and crannies of the map and wait for myself to bleed out than to be killed by mori. But unfortunately, this does not always work.
P.S and would be ofc nice if killers can't mori last surv who don't have 2 hook stage.

This is entitlement incarnate. Sincerely, there is nothing inherently toxic about mori'ing; you the individual believe that. It saves the killer what, 10 seconds of walking you to a hook? Prevents a save they can just defend from? Survivor mains are so full of double standards its insane. If you play well as survivor and finish 3 gens with less than 4 hooks states, you don't think "gosh the killer is having a hard time maybe we should slow down" you think "haha I'm having fun, this killer is bad!". If you escape you tbag at gates for no reason, if things don't go your way you give up on hook. But when killers tunnel, camp, mori; thats not allowed, they arent allowed to win, to have fun, to beat you. Reflect on that.

  • Remove boil over and the hook can be removed I guess.

  • On Steam.
"Lost In The Dark" archive challenge makes no progress when hitting survivors holding candelabra.
Happens on all killers on all maps with 100% consistency.
