  • GF is one of very few killers with actual counter balance with an ejoyable amount of lethality for both sides. Yes his stalk is buggy but what the hell isnt bugged in this game. With half the killers not being worthwhile in red ranks and personally, freddy and spirit are too sweaty for me. GF is the sweet blend of gameplay and power. Along that note if youll notice that billy is going to be heavily changed. Perhaps some of those mains have switched over to GF. Unlikely but plausible. He has counters and is punished for not playing stealthily as he should be. I agree playing against one every other game is annoying but when the last few choices for winning are there you gotta make the best of the situation.

  • I would be very impressed if we got voicelines for him or maybe a suburban map similar to haddonfield except that its nothing like haddonfield. My expectations however would be maybe a couple skins

  • Perks like poised or dance with me will erase scratch marks. Did you check for those perks or have video showing it?. If it happened right when a gen popped its poised. If they had fast vaulted a window then its dance with me.

  • Yup, gut one of the only 3 consistent killers rather than just making the low tier killers viable. Real nice future for the game

  • Dont worry they dont expire. You can still use them until they run out

  • As a fellow legion main this is honestly a really good idea and the decrease cool down addons could be changed to increase the amount of time reduced per hit.

Making a fool outta my chump change 😳

  • Yeah i just saw the patch, i dunno what to tell yah then try maybe X □

  • Its bugged on console. Its planned to be fixed but who long that will take

  • The possibility of preventing bull**** ds plays and dead hard loops because of pyramid head is enough to make him a worthwhile killer. No idea what your thinking to see him worse than pig

  • Fengs bowlcut with the crown doesnt work with any of my cosmetics so id like this option too.

  • Its costs a lot of money to pay for the licenses of these charcaters. To add these cosmetics would have to be approved by the owners of the licensed chapters making the killers and dlc potentially more expensive. Itd be nice to have em but thats how it is.

  • Flip-flop, its saved me a surprising amount of times without wasting unbreakable

    Demogorgon

Faster base movement or a toggle to switch to all fours with increased speed (but no basic attack)

Less downtime after missing a shred (the game is focused on running around things, a straight line pounce is hard enough to hit with)

Free rotation of camera while in the upside down.

These actually seem like plausible buffs i would love to see

  • Im pretty sure that og borrowed time used to do that and was nerfed because of how op it was.

  • I know how you feel man. It took me a while to get used to it hut you literlaly just have to get good

Thats just devour hope but better

  • I'm glad i can play with my friends on xbox now. Though the question is how would crossplay swf work without external sources like discord?

    Big brain time

  • Save the best for last has helped me prevent gens popping countless times

  • Before his ads adjustment on ps4 I was destroying swf's left and right up to rank 1. Now you cant do anything with the choppy framerate and hit detection with his projectile. He's certainly mid tier but with the lack of map pressure he lands as just another pig and demo

  • My oni gets people mad on ps4

  • Seeing as this is your first post ima tell you pretty confidently if crossplay would be enabled, It would be between consoles only as pc players against console killers would ruin the balance of the game. It would be fun to play with friendsbut the difference in skill and capability would bring this game down alot.

  • I made this concept a bit on the forum before so here's the copy paste.

Gertrude McDowell. The name of a legend tells within the depths of the rural country. One of a decrepit woman that feasts on the blood of whoever roams the wilderness alone. Through spells and sorcery, villagers would disappear without a trace. Through her wicked poisons, those affected were left tormented for days on end. Some vomited blood until they heeled over. Others went blind or deaf. Many lost their minds from inhaling its stench. The luckiest simply bled to death a few minutes after. No matter how many times one escapes, her hunger will never be sated. In the rampant night the screams of men and women could be heard, followed by the haunting cackle of a monster far beyond the scope of humanity. Alongside her poison, she carried a sacrificial dagger, to sacrifice her victims to the unhloy lord. Tired of living in fear, nearby villagers banded together and the night of her capture was at hand. Burning alive in flames of the stake, her final cries for their blood were heard. Despite her body scorched and lacerated, she remains a petrifying tall tale for those that roam the fog.

Her power is Witches Brew: 3 bottles of a swapmish green tonic concocted with her magic tomes. Hitting a survivor with a brew will give a random effect (Blindness, Oblivious, Madness, Mangled, etc.) for 30 seconds. (Can be altered with addons)

Plague of Punishment: The killer gains an obsession. Whenever the obsession fails a skill check, any survivors within 6/12/18 meters of the obsession. are highlighted for 3 seconds. The obsession is exempt from this reveal.

"Your mistakes shall damn your peers for eternity".

Hex: Watchful Eye: When the killer damages a generator Watchful Eye activates and marks it. The next survivor to begin repairing the marked generator will be exposed for 30/45/60 seconds.

"You cannot hide your greed from me."

Sinner's Pride: Everytime a generator is completed, you are revealed to the survivors for 5 seconds. In return, you gain a 10% haste effect for 20/25/30 seconds.

"No shame shall be cast upon my soul"!

I'd imagine she'd be a combination of freddy and hag with burnt skin and a small but ragged body. Clothed with a cloak similar to ghostface and her bottle tied to her waist and the witch hat because it sounds good

Noed has been a controversial perk for quite a while and I've been thinking of ways BHVR could change it to " balance " it.

Instead of being able to one shot ALL survivors, make it to where only survivors that have gone unhooked will have the exposed effect. Keeping the speed boost obviously or maybe even slightly increasing it for more versatility against survivors who have already been hooked.

This was just an idea I've had, so please tell me what you guys think.

Or just cleanse the totems, the literal counter to hex perks...

I know it sounds like I'm whining, but how is this actually fair? How am I supposed to improve when I get stomped on as killer all of the time. I could either wait in lobby as a survivor for 10 mins to find a game that goes terrible, or instantly find a game as killer against red rank/rank 1 survivors? I genuinely would like some advice in how to improve, other than just "get good" as I've played this game for 3 years and this has always happened to me

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/472/17Y609961K4J.jpg

Sadly, I and many others had this issue. The downright horseshit matchmaking is a big factor as to why people dont play killer due to massive gaps in skill level. With no disrespect the only legitmate solution is to get gud. Figure out how to counter the survivors and improve from there. Its an insanely uphill batyle but when your reach the top, you'll feel pretty good. Until the sweaty swf show up. I'd recommend playing some top tier killers like spirit or billy if you just wanna rank up. If you just wanna have fun then bless your heart from a washed up trapper main.

Why is it so easy to get 32k points as him? Or 31 900 which is common for me, and also i keep getting as well those 4 red medals at the end, im rank 1 btw. Never understood this xD.

Compared to other killers and his rework, he's actually a threat to survivors regardless of skill level. His addons actually change his playstyle and aren't practically worthless. His power is useful and hasnt been nerfed to the ground. His greatest asset is that he has pressure regardless of the maps. He can teleport, ruin god loops if he's good enough, and always keep you on edge. He is a prime example of how deadly a killer should be. The reason people are complaining about him is that he doesnt have an obvious weakness to exploit therefore making him "broken"

For context in this discussion, I am a rank 1 killer on PS4.

Right now, and hopefully also in the future if things go right, I am a Deathslinger main. From the day he was announced, I started training with Huntress to get good at a 110% (movement speed), ranged killer. My games with, like with Deathslinger, were hit or miss all around. One match I'd get a 4k, and the next I'd get a 1k. That probably has more to do with the power variation of red rank survivors, but still.

I agree with the popular opinion that he's literally just a weaker Huntress. I have played them both a ton, at rank 1, so I know what I'm talking about. He's more fun for sure, but all killers are when they first come out, and I think he'll get less and less fun to play as people realize how truly weak he is (about as weak as Clown, I'd say).

    First, his few upsides:

    1. He can reload on the move.

    2. He has a smaller terror radius.

    3. He can land some shots that Huntress can't.

Now, I'll explain why these upsides aren't even that great:

    1. He can reload on the move, but unlike Huntress and Clown, he can only shoot once before reloading. It doesn't waste as much time as Huntress where she has to effectively end the chase to reload (finding a locker), but it still wastes time and can only be helped with reload speed add-ons. With Huntress, you wouldn't go for that many shots unless you knew they were going to hit, because after you run out of hatchets, you have to find a locker. The Deathslinger's ability to reload while chasing gets rid of that fear, but brings on the more detrimental action of commiting too many missed shots to a chase. Since you think you reload fairly fast (compared to Huntress), it's basically instant gratification, causing you to overcommit and lose the game. Reload speed is meaningless if you never hit half your shots.

    2. I don't know the exact measure, but Deathslinger's terror radius is smaller than most killers'. What does this do for him? Almost nothing. He's about as good as Trapper or Clown, and Monitor&Abuse on then isn't good so why would it be on him, even as part of his base kit? You might get in a little closer to survivors before they start running, but competent survivors will already know where a pallet is and just run to it anyway, especially if they have a heads up with Spine Chill. At best, his terror radius causes a survivor to be caught off guard and giving you a free hit. But it's unlikely to happen, speaking from a red rank perspective.

    3. If you get good at Deathslinger, his small projectile will really come in handy. Its small size allows him to hit survivors more easily over loops than Huntress's big ole hatchets. It can also go through little holes (like the ones at killer shack) and hit survivors. But does that matter? In most cases, no. You can pull off crazy shots with Deathslinger and not get the survivor. Either they'll be too far away, or they'll break free before you can hit them. If either of those scenarios or a classic miss happens, you have to reload and try again, probably at a stronger position for the survivor. Huntress would have injured or downed that survivor but Deathslinger, despite your accuracy, couldn't. You could let the chain break and get an injured/deep wounded survivor, but you suffer from a long stun, long enough to allow the survivor to get to another strong position. You also have to reload again. So while Deathslinger can pull off shots that Huntress couldn't possibly hit, very few times will you actually be able to capitalize on it, especially if the survivors know how to hold left or right on the controls (T_T).

Deathslinger also has glaring downsides that I'll now touch up on:

    1. Survivors have too much struggle power.

    2. He's a 110% killer.

    3. He has to 1v1.

Here's the expanded versions of these points:

    1. Survivors have far, far too much struggle power with base Deathslinger. Therefore, he's an add-on dependent killer, as if we didn't have enough of those. If you harpoon a survivor in between yourself and a window or anything really, the chain burning combined with the survivor's struggling will cause it to break almost instantly, giving you zero capitalization on what was probably a pretty good shot. All the survivor has to do at a window to stop you from reeling them is hold left or right, and the chain breaks instantly. The survivor is in control there, not the killer. Sometimes it's the polar opposite where you're using STBFL or PWYF (therefore not trying to hit your obsession with your basic attack) or something, and they'll know it and they won't struggle. If you don't have an object to put between yourself and the survivor, and they don't struggle, you're at a standstill for like 20+ seconds (unless you attack, losing your stacks in the process). That is mind-blowing to me, and should not be a thing. I'd fix it by making the meter go much faster when the survivor is touching your body.

    2. Deathslinger is a weaker Huntress yet moves at 110%. 110% movement speed is reserved for killers whose ability is so impactful, they're movement has to be nerfed as a balancing mechanic. Personally, I think every killer should be 115%, that way everyone would be at the same movement speed (it'll never happen, I know). But that's the thing: his ability is too weak to make him 110%. You can leave on his leg brace or whatever you want to do, but he needs to be 115%.

    3. Deathslinger is a pretty good killer when it comes to 1v1. Sadly, that means nothing when you're above green ranks. Since the Ruin nerf, killers are no longer able to 1v1 in even the slightest degree (so "1v1-ing" is a negative term). Killers have to either do hit and run builds with Sloppy, or get downs extremely quick (we're talking less than 20s a chase). Deathslinger is too slow with either. He's is decent at 1v1 but unless you're outplaying survivors at every turn and getting those quick chases, he has too little pressure to 1v1 and still win. Even playing a hit and run style of play, survivors don't fear him even if they're injured. All they have to do is get between him and an obstacle, take the chain break, and heal deep wound so they can jump back on the gen. Chain breaking (a common occurrence while playing Deathslinger) is basically giving a survivor Borrowed Time, which takes only a little longer to heal, so it basically does nothing. With all that in mind, he's better off doing a playstyle that closer resembles 1v1 (which is still an inefficient way to play).

I love Deathslinger. He's probably the best killer from a design standpoint, but he's been horribly translated to a reality. DBD at red ranks is absolutely ruthless for killers. It's literally a case of "You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain" (lose because you played 'fair', or win because you had to slug/tunnel). There are exceptional players who win a lot more on than "average chumps" like me, without slugging or camping somehow. But trust me, they still lose a lot.

If this was a balanced game, Deathslinger would be almost fine where he's at, but it's not. Cool killers like him are tossed to the wayside in favor of stronger killers like Spirit or Wraith, simply because the survivor role is so incredibly strong compared to the killer on average. So this is as much a debate about how good Deathslinger is as it is about the overall balance of the game. Since we know our devs too well by this point, we know they're not going to do any comprehensive rebalancing (or they'll fail at it like with the "killer sided" mechanic of breakable walls). The least I expect is a buff to this awesome killer, instead of a nerf after (coincidentally) everyone has already paid for him and can't get a refund (like has happened with past killers).

As a fellow rank 1 deathslinger, none of these should be changed. His genuine problem is the ads sensitivity and his addone being somewhat worthless. Some arent worth using and his ads before the patch was perfect for flicks. Having a smaller terror radius would be awfully unfair with M/A making it impossible to hear him coming. The only point which could be changed with justification is the charges needed to break the chain. Even with the chain addon, its still smvery easy for survivors to escape.

  • @Traslogan said:

We all know DS is an extremely useful perk, but it's also a perk that has obliterated an entire game-mechanic: Unsafe Unhooking.

The whole point of unsafe unhook is that survivors are punished for blatantly unhooking people when the killer is right nearby, instead of distracting or dealing with them or even simply saving themselves. Whether you face randoms or SWF teams, the vast majority of people use DS now as it's criticially overpowered meta.

Obviously DS has its place, it's good to discourage tunneling en-masse from the killer, but please bring back a meaningful unsafe-unhooking mechanic by preventing DS from firing during the period where an unhook counts as unsafe if the hooked survivor gets hit again. DS hurts killer's score due to losing a survivor from your grasp hitting the pips, and we literally can do nothing anymore to stop people blatantly unhooking, sometimes even just doing it instantly once we've hooked, and we're forced to just take it because everyone has DS and often even the unhooking survivor has DS active and you're just unable to do anything at all now.

This and also make it an exhaustion perk, with bt and dead hard its too good

  • @Kwikwitted said:

Um, the trap isn't based on generators at all, it only goes off if the survivor tries to leave through an exit gate with it on unless I'm mis-remembering something.

The trap isn't supposed to kill the survivors often as much as it's supposed to force a survivor to go deal with boxes for a while so the pig can focus on other survivors.

And yes people die from the power, but I find it comical that you refer to "camping the box" as somehow derogatory. If you realize a survivor needs a certain box to get their trap off you are absolutely, 100% within your rights to pitch a tent and watch that trap turn his jawbone upside down.

As far as tunneling, that would actually be the exact wrong thing to do against the guy with the trap on his head, considering that is one survivor who's priority isn't generators. Why focus him instead of the people who are focused on generators?

People need to stop throwing around the term "pressure" without actually thinking about what it means. The pig's traps aren't "pressure" they are just a way to slow down overall survivor progress by forcing however many survivors have traps on their heads to go deal with boxes instead of repairing generators. Meanwhile the pig uses that extra time to continue to hunt and down survivors who are still doing generators.

Also sorry but prestige means absolutely nothing other than you funneled a whole bunch of BP into a killer.

The literal in-game description for the trap states it'll activate when any gens are completed.

  • As a red rank killer, I have no idea what kind of survivors your facing cause I'm loving this map. Still have yet to get less than a 3k. If the breakable walls are an issue for you then just spend the first moments breaking em. Chainsaws treat them as pallets so leatherface and billy just chew em up. They shouldnt be much of a problem other than in the main building

You do realize that corn maps are the most open maps in the game, right? If they got rid of the visibility issues, these maps would be so blatantly killer sided that the whining would be unstoppable.

Nobody is gonna spend their time getting rid of all the corn. It would be spread out based on chases and force survivors to rely on skill more than just corn on the map

  • Ive lost so many chases because i think i can aim my sight but the horrible aim sensitivity makes me lose them by an inch. I hate it so much and i know it wont be fixed.

I like all of this but the whole free killer and survivor thing, if we were to get more dbp events and double shard events we wouldn't have to work as hard to get the killers and survivors we want

Granted yes but of course theyd have to be infrequent to avoid having millions of bp but for shards those outta be maybe a every 6 months? Frequent enough to be less of a grin to unlock killers but enough to be bearable

  • As much as i hate using noed as a crutch. Its become a neccesity if you plan to get consistent games or at the least stop swf groups. Though the masses will still comain you're not in the wrong

  • What do you mean. You see these all the time in the bloodweb and i have around 3 for my main killers i upgrade

  • Ive had one where the ui doesnt show up so you cant even see skill checks, how many gens are left, or players health state. I experienced the survivor being stuck so many times and I dont even know why playing killer is still fun.
