  • As a survivor if I think about what I'm doing (as why am I doing gens for the 5 millionth time?) it gets boring. I have to either shut my brain off or do SWF with my crappy teammates because we laugh and have a good time. It gets boring unless your BP grinding.

Killer is fun when I don't go for pipping. All the killers are different and it feels more interactive and engaging. On the other hand losing and getting no kills bums my mood for a while.

I can play hard-core for a month then get burned out for like 2 or 3 months. It's a mixed bag. This game reminds me of a saying from Runescape people say. "You never quit, you just go afk for a while"

  • And yes, my build is weird but I was trying something I saw on Twitch and didn't have all the addons or perks...

  • This isn't necessarily chase music, but when you click on the clown as your killer I really like the creepy carnival music.

  • It has only happened once in my 50+ Trapper games, but man was this satisfying. Back on PS4 I was playing a sweaty, toxic, SWF group and there were 2 gens left. I got into a chase with one of the survivors and the other 3 people got hit by my traps WITH HONING STONE. It went from a "I lost..." to a "Hooooooooooo Booooyyyyyy!!!!".

  • Oh, and also, I think End Game ruined killers because of the new hatch spawn mechanics. I pretty much have to slug every game now if I want the 4k.

  • Pantsless Myers should be completely pantsless.

  • Play Trapper and don't use traps. BAM

  • Just make DS and Moris only work on dying hook. That way it's more end game and while still effective won't make it so annoying to play against on both sides.

  • I killed a 4 man SWF on PC a couple of months ago and one of them messaged me saying that they hoped I would die of cancer followed by the n word and "piece of sh**". I reported them on steam but I don't think anything came of it. Worst part: I wasn't even running a mori or camping or tunneling, I was just using Freddy...

Another time I was playing SWF with my gf and everyone died except for me and a Feng. My gf spectated Feng and while I was doing a gen, she was just Urban Evasioning across the map and when she found the hatch, she just camped it hoping I would die. I ran to her and started vaulting the window to get the Killers attention and he killed us both. I got another "I hope you die of cancer" message.

I find that PC players are usually more tame than ps4 players because they can give you crap post game chat but if someone messages you on Steam it'll always be nasty.

  • @Fibijean

Just woke up and read your reply. I see your point in a lot of what you said. I do, however, disagree with 1 of your responses.

    7. I started playing DbD as a solo player but then my girlfriend and my brother and a couple of my friends got the game after some convincing. Now when I play I am almost exclusively with 1 or 2 people. I honestly wouldn't mind the speed reduction. Maybe cap the reduction at 5% for a 4 person SWF group. I don't see it as a punishment but more of a game balance. This would balance the advantage you get so that the killer also gets some benefit from people doing SWF. People starting out doing SWF probably wouldn't even notice the difference and veteran players doing SWF would have to play only a little harder. It would, however, be a small help to killers that would probably appease people who are frustrated with SWF. I also know a lot of people that play killer at the moment that lobby dodge if they even think a group is SWF. My solution might not be the answer but I certainly think that there needs to be insensitive for killers to want to play against SWF besides "it's a better challenge".

I thought of more things but I don't want to spam the forums so stay tuned for more ideas from me. I honestly love when people give me constructive feedback because that way I can see where I may have a misunderstanding or bias.

  • I have been getting constant red ranks in my matches and I'm rank 14 killer at the moment... I only have my 4th perk slot open and 1 teachable I got from the shrine and I'm going up against maxed players that know all the loops and 360s. I've gotten 2 ebony moris and I use them as insurance if the match is going terribly.

  • @luka2211 said:

You'd hate it immediately because of how long it would take you to queue. You could queue for 20 mins or even longer depending on ur rank just to have a boring game/someone dc while loading and having to repeat the process all over again.

While I understand that and I remember having to wait forever. But also going in to every match and just being completely dominated isn't fair. That's why I thought options would be better. And if they can't find a match right away it could try to find someone within a one color difference. Matchmaking has always been that one issue that doesn't have a clear answer.

  • I think making ruin tied to gen progression instead of being attached to a totem would be cool. Imagine it like dying light. When a gen is done, there is a 3% gen slow down. So by the time you're on the last gen it's a 12% speed regression. Let there be good and great skill checks too. That way survivors can focus on gens while the killer doesn't have to worry about ruin. Only truly coordinated teams would think about 99%ings all the gens then popping them. I feel like that would make it more balanced too.

  • Killer/survivor blah blah blah main here. I understand that both sides need some balancing. I personally think that there should be a 5% gen speed reduction for every player in a SWF group to better balance the game. I also think that Killers should have a safety net when people DC so that they can still pip.

I also believe, however, that killers have some balancing of their own. While I don't like playing against PB Spirit, I don't think the Spirit as a whole should be nerfed, just that add on. Same with Iridescent Head. It's easy enough to say that you can loop the huntress and has a good counter but against red rank, 1k hours+ huntresses that's a lot easier said than done. On top of that, it's just not enjoyable to play against. Going up against a hex ruin irisdecent 3 hatchet huntress is worse than PB Spirit in my opinion. They should make it where you can only have 1 hatchet and gor that to supercede other addons.

Both sides aren't perfect and we need to realize that if we want to continue enjoying this game.

  • I'm Hispanic and I don't find it offensive. If anything I'm happy that I'm being represented. It'd be cute and funny!

  • I always thought a killer that didn't rely on walking to hooks would be cool. Like, when a survivor is downed they summon a crucifix that holds the survivor up and acts like the hook. Then I realized that with NOED this mofo would be unstoppable. Noone would run up to the "hooked" survivor just to get insta hooked themselves.

  • I had to stop running deadhead because it's too unreliable. Until it actually works consistantly as it should I won't run it. To clarify, I dont mean a free dodge every time, because you do have to time it well, I'm talking about when it just straight up doesn't activate or bugs out.

How are 360s a thing on PC in your games? Does not compute. 360s don't work on PC except against the most incompetent killers.

As for depipping. Sure, it probably happens. Killers depip a hell of a lot more than survivors do on PC, though. I run into a depipping killer maybe 5 times a night. Free BP. Don't need it though. I have never run into a depipping survivor, other than those that just flat out DC when they get downed (now that's very common).

Or it could be they are just long term players that play every now and then and not many hours a night. But they've been playing for thousands of hours and have everything and know how to play. But they don't play much so they're just at Rank 14ish.

I used the 360 and 180s as an example of something no true rank 14-20 should know how to do. Unless I'm having a terrible match those type of techniques don't work on me. They do, however, work on killers that are trying out the game and are thinking about if they want to keep playing as a killer or not. You can argue that they will eventually need to know how to fight against that but I think it's entirely unfair to have them face it so early on. That's how you make people lose interest in a game when there is already such a high learning gap when you just begin.

You don't see that as much as a survivor. When I was going back to red ranks on PC from level 20 survivor I had maybe 1 or 2 killers that were maxed and out of place but most killers were at the appropriate level. As a killer on the other hand you overwhelmingly see this to the point where if I get a match with survivors matching your level/skill set (not rank, level), it feels out of place. And again, I very rarely have a match where a killer is trying to depip (maybe one every week or less) but I will have matches almost daily where I get a triple prestige survivor that the second I hit them dc or just a survivor that will straight up dc the second the match starts.

As to the long term player thing you said, there must be a lot of them doing that because that's almost all I get at yellow ranks. On top of that, when you do end up getting a 4k or 3k they start trash talking you like crazy. I've had survivors tell me to kill myself or call me derogatory slang for homosexual because I ignore them when they keep trying to get me to chase them. I have a 1 minute video of 2 survivors insulting me, then giving the true rank 16 crap for being so bad, then insulting me again. That's not okay.

  • I would dodge lobbies if it didn't take so long to get one. Any time I see an Ash I pretty much give up on life.

  • I've never had an issue with this perk and it's not OP. I do have an issue, however, with giving Tier 3 perks to a Tier 1 unlock. Look at Hex Ruin and NOED. You should be rewarded for unlocking it all the way instead of just keeping it at Tier 1. That also goes for some survivor perks too (Adrenaline).

  • These are the 3 perks I came up with if I were to have my own survivor. (PS this is based on me and not to offend anyone).

1st perk: Man Boobs (1st male only perk)

You have big old floppy man boobs.

When the survivor starts to run, the flopping of their man boobs causes an audible notification to the killer. When you are in the killer's terror radius, the killer is so distracted by your floppy man boobs that they have a 5% / 10% / 15% chance of missing their next hit.

    2nd perk: Run You Fatty

How did I end up getting so fat?

If the survivor runs for more than 15/10/5 seconds, they immediately enter the exhausted state. While exhausted, the broken status will be added to the survivor. The survivor will lose the broken status effect once their exhaustion has ended. (Think of this as the upgraded No Mither)

    3rd perk: I'm Going Baaaaaaald

Why does my hair keep thinning?

During the match, your survivor will randomly start to shed hair from the top of their head. Each time your hair sheds, you gain 1 token. Once you have 4 tokens, you gain the ability to spray the killer in the face with some Rogaine foam, adding the blinding effect for 3/4/5 seconds.

Pretty sure these are too OP for the game but they would be the best reflection of me so I'm for them.

  • I dont think a killer should be punished for killing 3 survivors by giving the last survivor multiple ways of escaping the match. If you bring a key with you, problem solved. You will have to sacrifice a med kit or toolbox but think of it from a killer's perspective. You killed 2 people and are chasing the third with 2 gens left. Unless you find the hatch while you're chasing the survivor, the 4th survivor is either looking for the hatch or (far less likely) working on the last 2 gens. Once you hook the 3rd survivor you have to then pray that they dont suicide and let the last guy go or you have to slug them and look for the last person. Trust me, I play both sides and the way end game is now, I enjoy it. Let's say the killer does close the hatch, if you stay by a gate theres a 50/50 chance you open it before they find you.

  • Camping is a bad strategy against good survivors. It's an amazing strategy at the 15-20 rank. I just got DbD on PC and have to start fresh (please tell me if theres a way to transfer data from ps4 to PC) and it sucks. My level 24 rank 17 Meg with only her perks and no teachables unlocked yet has had to go up against fully upgraded killers that still camp at rank 17... On top of that my fellow solo survivors that have just purchased the game run to the hook like idiots and dont do gens. I'm usually left with 3 or 4 gens by myself while the other survivors are hiding or trying to beat a camper. I miss my rank 1 Dwight... Rant over

Then why are you pissed about getting matched with red rank killers if you're usually red rank ROFL

Not agreeing with the original poster but you should read his post more carefully. He said he hates rank 14 games with red rank killers because his rank 14 teammates are bad. Just saying...

  • Let me just add that I just played a match where noone could unhook. All 3 of us went to the hook and no one could unhook anyone.

  • I don't mean face camping, I meant more along the lines of not leaving the hooked area at all maybe I didn't clarify. I literally just had a match where the killer was chasing me on the other end of the map and when the hooked person was unhooked the killer completely dropped the chase and went back and tunneled the survivor. They weren't even the obsession.

Also, people can say they don't care about rank but they do. You wouldn't have all the posts today complaining about how hard it is to pip or twitch streamers complaining about it during and after the PTB. I care and so do most people.

  • Ya as a Trapper main that Chase section always gets me. They need to change it to help us out.

  • Oh. I'm PS4 so I wouldn't know.

  • I'm pretty sure they changed it so that even solo survivors appear at the same time to make it harder to know who's SWF.

  • If you post a video of you taking down a 4 man rank 1 SWF group with a level 5 Trapper then you have an argument. If you can't then honestly you're just trying to get a ride out of killers. As a survivor main I can tell you right now that even when I do SWF I don't mind the killer lobby dodging. Why should they be forced to play a match where they'll be at a huge disadvantage?

  • How is getting a 4k being a try hard? At that point trying to do all the gens is being a tryhard. Imagine if when all the gens are done a killer can go around the map looking for a button that will instantly kill a survivor. You did all the gens and did your job as a survivor so why are you being punished for doing your job?

  • Why not just make it where you need a key to open the hatch no matter what? That way if you bring a key you're rewarded with the chance of escaping after everyone dies and you're left but if you decide to bring a toolbox or medkit then you've made your decision. Hatch standoffs are the worst part of being a killer and even if you die as a survivor at the end you'll probably still pip.

  • Shouldn't she be a killer since she's single handedly been responsible for the deaths of thousands?

  • Use ebony moris. That's the best counter to SWF. I either lobby dodge them or use a mori to even the playing field. Unfortunately, there's nothing else you can do.
  • Did you leave your game on overnight? I find that on PS4 leaving your game on and trying to play again gives me hella glitches.
  • I only tbag when I'm in a chase so that the killer stays on me, but once the gates are open I leave when everyone else does. I hate people that stay when everyone is gone just to screw with the killer. I used to be a survivor that, every time I got camped or tunneled, would send hate messages to the killer (never death threats though that sucks). As I started playing more killer and understanding the frustration of SWF or toxic survivors, I've stopped sending hate messages because I understand.

I think the main issue is that people don't want to play both sides, so it's easier to hate when you cant understand it. In fact, if there is a no kill game, I'll message the killer telling them that it was a tough match and they did really well for the people he/she had to face. I always love the thanks I get from killers from motivating them. I suggest atleast hitting rank 10 with both killer and survivor (rank 5-1 if you have the time) to get a better understanding.

As to your rant, ya it does suck a lot. Atleast on PS4 they have to individually send you a message instead of an end game chat. Shrug it off and play as you like. If you arent enjoying the game because you're playing with some suppressing rules, play your own way. You'll get hate, but in the end, you killed them!
  • I usually don't camp, but when I hook a survivor and I see 2 of his/her buddies literally right next to the hook, why should I leave knowing that the second I do they'll unhook them? I've had many instances where I'll get 1 or 2 knockdowns because they keep trying to unhook right in front of me. Also, as a rank 1 survivor, I hate when people immediately unhook me. Give me time on the hook so gens can be done and THEN, when the killer is gone, unhook me. It's pretty simple. I hate when killers face camp, but sometimes camping is the best strategy.
  • IS that the point? Have the developers said that somewhere? Or is that just what people have decided to tell themselves in order to justify No Mither's awful effects?

What other reason would there be for that perk then?
  • The point of no mither is give players a challenge. What you're suggesting would ruin what the perk is about. No second chances, no extra time, it's 1 hit and down.
  • Like everyone else has said, it's in your head. When I'm playing killer and I see 2 survivors at once, my game will lag like a mofo if they're near me. I don't know if it's my PS4 but it's stayed the same laggy wise. Also, whenever a generator explodes, my game drops to like 2 frames.

  • I think it's because we have cute legs.
  • I tried it on Playstation but it takes too long to find matches. Also, the game is kind of boring. It has potential but the people look creepy as hell and it's hella buggy. I still play for kicks when I'm too stressed for DbD.

  • I want Freddy to split my butt open with those claws of his. Is that weird?

  • I usually have mine at 15, but I'll go up to 16 if I'm in the zone.

  • I've only DCed once in my entire time playing this game. That was because there were people working at our house and the power went out. The only excuse to DC is if it's not your fault or your pants are soaking with your diarrhea and you can't hold it in longer. If you purposely do it for any other reason you should have a huge punishment.

  • This community is toxic as hell, but I enjoy the game too much to quit. Who the hell takes their time on Playstation to message someone and tell them they suck or git gud or that they're a worthless survivor? Oh wait, I do... Am I toxic then? I mean I've also gotten a crap ton of hate mail when I play killer or from other solo survivors so they're toxic too. I get your point...

  • I have been having a terrible time with solo survivor, but not because of face camping (completely). Like you said, there are so many disconnects lately. I don't know if this is a bug or if people are trying to depip but I played about 20 matches today and out of those almost half had dcs. This has been so freaking frustrating. There are some killers that let the remaining 3 at least pip but many don't (and shouldn't have to, it's not their fault). On top of that, the survivors I do play with are so desperate to do gens after the dc that many times they completely stop looking out for the killer. You add to that the survivors that let themselves die after they see the dc and you really have a recipe for a ######### day...
Another thing is that, all of a sudden, I've been having survivors sending me hate mail. One guy called me a scrub and a ######### player because he couldn't get into the hatch in time because I was still hooked. This guy was also the one that refused to heal any of the teammates and led the killer to us every time he was getting chased... So yes, I purposely stayed in struggle instead of giving him a chance, I want those points. I've been playing like I normally do, so why have I been getting so much hate mail lately (I've been consistently rank 1 or 2 for the last week so it's not because I'm in a higher ranking now)?
Another thing I've noticed is in the games with 4 players, killers have now decided to face camp the first survivor they hook then play normally after that. I don't mind that as much because I do gens but it's getting old. Good strategy though.

  • I don't know how to reduce the size of a quote so this is a reply to the comment above me. All Marth88 did was prove that having very skilled players in SWF is broken as hell. Everyone already knows that. I would love to see him do this experiment in solo survivor.
With the Tyde video I mentioned, how can you not see that he was saturating to make his point? His tone, his mannerisms, and his gameplay all showed that he didn't actually want to make a video on how to play killer fairly. He played in a way that extreme, horribly toxic survivors want killers to play. Again, you can watch other streamers like Panda or Tru3 and you'll see what a fair killer playstyle looks like. I don't think tunneling is wrong in many situations and go ahead and face camp SWF but when it comes to solo play, people like me get grouped into the entire survivor pool. Tyde never mentions solo survivors because he isn't really looking for solutions, he's just complaining to appeal to his crowd.
There are a crap ton of toxic survivors like there are toxic killers. I've had matches where the killer hooks me then just keeps hitting me and face camps. You don't consider that toxic? Both sides do things that the other side thinks is unfair, so dont just blame survivors. If face camping isn't considered unfair to Tyde, then he shouldn't complain about pallet loops because both are just strategies.
On the point about how Tyde shouldn't hold back when being survivor, I think you missed the point. I'm not saying it's wrong of him to loop or gen rush, I'm saying that he then proceeds to tbag, flashlight the killers at the exit gate, and stall games. He has to do gens and live, but being a jerk to killers to "prove a point" makes him just as bad as the survivors that he's complaining about. It's like if he says he has a problem with people stealing so he steals from someone to show people how bad stealing is. He's still stealing...
  • While I agree with some of Tyde's opinions, I think he is the worst and most toxic DbD youtuber out there. He makes some good points, but when he goes to "prove" his points he does it with such exaggeration that it makes his points look invalid (his video on playing how a survivor wants a killer to play). Then he essentially says that these are facts not opinions. It ends up making him look wrong and childish. When he plays survivor to prove his point, he plays like the most toxic survivor ever (to emulate how some survivors play) and it really is distasteful.
If you want good youtubers with valid points AND don't sound like a religious preacher, watch Panda or Tru3, they're both a lot more reasonable. If you don't like them, look for channels that are less toxic than Tyde's. Remember when he quit DbD for Deathgarden (because he wouldn't come back to DbD until it was fixed) then came back because he needed views? The game died, yes, but damn dude, stick to your guns.

Irrelevant to the thread. You’re just trying to start drama. nice try loser

First of all it was relevant, seeing as both things I said were emotes. Second of all, I main survivor and am currently at rank 1, so as a survivor main, I was making a lighthearted joke. Third of all, calling me a loser is uncalled for. If you can't tell the difference between a joke and an attack of character towards survivors, you really shouldn't be commenting on forums.
