  • I had this idea a while ago and posted it. I agree..

  • There should be a killer emote that allows the killer to tbag and flash a light in front of the killer.

  • I would love a post game chat. I hate having people spam my PS4 to ######### on or compliment me. Also, I hate having to send hate messages to people 1 at a time lol.

I don't know the situation on console, if that is the case obviously we need another solution.
But on pc skillcecks are a joke, there are ppl that can literally do "only" great skillcecks every single time, wich means even with ruin, there is no match.
Also it happen to me mani time to have one single skillceck on the whole generator... yey ruin!!!

This guy must be new or something because on console the skillchecks are just as easy as on PC... either way something must be done for the gens because it's too damn easy

I've been rank 1 survivor on PS4 since the Clown came out, I wouldn't consider myself a new player. They are nowhere near as easy as PC. If that were the case, you would see more survivors running DS but as I've mentioned in other posts it's pretty rare to see it run at all. I don't think it's the framerates, I think it's bad internet connection. When you play on console you can tell when a killer is running on Wifi or ethernet because of the needles.
I'm making a huge assumption here but more people run wifi than ethernet on consoles because it's a built in feature (convenience). I tried playing killer with wifi and the games were terrible (I'm ethernet now). This can be seen with the ping going all over the place in the lobby and hella laggy killers. When you get a good match the needles are fine and I wouldn't complain but those are super rare. Even green bar matches will switch to 190+ in a heartbeat.
Before anyone says it's my internet connection, I'm running gigabit internet with 250 down & 35 up (that's as high as I can go on my ps4). Also, when I play killer and I host, I dont have issues with lag (rank 9 killer only but still).

As a killer main and with respect, I have to say you are wrong. SWF has little to no effect on the game balance in truth.

SWF is not the problem. Comms is the problem.

DbD was never designed, nor has it ever been balanced for comms. While, more often then not, SWF groups are on comms, not all are. Another thing to bare in mind is, depending on your platform, it can take 10 seconds to add a random player to a game chat.

Rather then touch SWF the devs need to give up the idea of balancing the game where comms is not taken into account.

I'm pretty sure when people say SWF they mean comms. Who plays SWF without communicating? I don't think taht having a separate room for SWF would work. I know if I play killer (only rank 9 but still) and had to choose between 2 modes, I would never do a SWF lobby. I'm pretty sure 90% of the killers wouldn't.
The real issue is that there is no legitimate way to prevent people from communicating. All it takes is a phone with any communication app and how would they be able to detect that?
I agree that SWF is incredibly frustrating but so far it's really hard to completely defeat it. I agree that maybe having people in SWF glow or something so you can at least dodge their games or play more defensively.

  • 1: I would love for both killers and survivors to have their own ranks. That would make trying out new killers/survivors less of a risk and you can level a character with people that are leveling new characters too. We would have to make resets happen less often.

2: Again, I'm on console and I know PC is different, but skill checks are already way too unreliable on console to make it harder. If there is a big change for PC, it will also affect console.

At that point killers shouldn't pip unless they kill all 4 survivors.
They should pip if they got 2 kills, since the dev consider that to be balanced. And survivors should only pip by escaping.
I would agree on the Piping only when you survive if you take away the Boldness and Altruism requirements too. I would be more than happy to try and not have to be in a chase or have to unhook/heal someone if that guaranteed me a pip. It's a huge pain when you have your entire team hook hungry and do gens while they run around like idiots only to find out that you didn't pip because the killer never chased you or because you didn't unhook someone.

  • Are you talking about realism in a game with ghosts, witches that can teleport, a dude that goes invisible at will, and more? We, as killers and survivors, are in the Entity's world. Realism has nothing to do with it at that point. I wouldn't mind having survivors run slower when injured though.
  • There are rarely any matches that I've played that the killer has had to hook survivors 12 times. That is so unrealistic. This is coming from a Rank 1 solo console player so I can't speak for SWF or PC. When PC players push for major changes to be made, they are implemented on consoles too. The whole thing about just mashing a button to do a skill check might work on PC but on console the needle for skill checks is incredibly unreliable, same for DS. Out of about 50+ games I've played so far since reset, I've had maybe 15 games where someone runs DS. It's not reliable on console.
Other people are right, this is not really a stealth game. There are too many triggers that indicate to killers where the survivors are and things like BBQ will literally show a killer where a survivor is. If you remove looping from the game, how the hell will a survivor last a chase against a killer? Rank 1-5 killers on console already face camp like crazy so when you get downed, you're more than likely already dead. Add to that the fact that you won't be able to loop and I guarantee you that you will lose a huge portion of console players. Console killers also tunnel like crazy, what incentive would a killer have to leave a survivor alone to help themselves up when you could just knock them down and be done with it?
You are under the assumption that killers want a fair game and will leave a survivor to heal themselves while they go patrol but that will never be the case. Don't say Git Gud, just be honest. This would be a terrible idea to implement.

    P.S.
Typed this on my phone so there will be errors.

  • I was Trapper and I lost the last survivor and the second I went to look for him, (leaving the hatch exposed) he stepped on random trap I put down aged ago that was next to the hatch. I couldn't even see the trap!
  • I have another one: The Thing
His ability let's you start the match off looking like a survivor and every time you hook someone you look like them. The survivors would have to pay attention to how each player moves to see if it's the Thing or not. Once the Thing hits a survivor, it sprouts tentacles like in the movie and its terror radius resumes until a new survivor is hooked.

Prestige-widespread respect and admiration felt for someone or something on the basis of a perception of their achievements or quality.
By it's very definition prestige is nothing more than the perception of achievement. No bonus should be granted.
In a world where everything is literal then, yes, you are correct. That is not the case. I see no problem giving people added incentive to go back to lvl 1. On top of that, a 5% increase is small enough to not give a major advantage unless you play 1000+ hours.
  • I would love to have set bonuses. For example, 1% if you wear 1 prestige part, 3% for 2, 5% if you wear all 3.
  • I dont know if this is what you meant, but are you asking for a double mori perk to be added into the game? That's way too OP for killers... I say remove the hatch if you want (I hate it because survivors stop trying to do gens) but don't do what you said. If a killer can't do their job, it's not up to the game to punish the survivors with a perk that powerful. This is the same argument survivors make when they say killers are OP when in fact, survivors are hella stronger. Honestly, just get better at the game :/
  • I've been playing a lot of killer lately, not rank 1, but rank 9 at the moment. The more I rank up the more difficult it gets  by A LOT. Rank 10-1 survivor is a hell of a lot easier than Rank 12-9 killer. That being said, people that keep saying the same thing of "if survivors perfectly do gens it takes x amount of time and a killer needs 12 hooks a game and each chase takes x amount" need to stop... Unless you're doing SWF (which is stupid OP) that NEVER happens. At rank 1 survivor (solo PS4), there is very little coordination and most of the time a hooked survivor will sit there for a long time. Chase to hook never takes 1:30, that's a  ridiculous overstatement. It sounds like people like you steal that line from Tyde. Watch a good killers stream like Tru3 or Panda and you'll see them get 2-3 kills a game. Like other people have said, a good game for killer is getting 2 kills, a great game is 4. It's like having survivors complaining that all 4 don't survive makes killers OP, and that all the survivors should survive (even though that happens a lot).

That being said, I do think survivors have too many OP perks like DS and SC etc. I wouldn't mind having DS taken out completely or nerfing the hell out of it. I think that when you down someone that's your hook, it shouldn't be up to the survivor anymore. I also think that killers ARE underpowered to some extent. When it comes to SWF, killers have absolutely no chance of winning unless they bring an ebony mori. I've had games at rank 12 with rank 4s and 5s and they abuse the hell out of me and at my level I really shouldn't have to face that... They should have the killer be the rank of the highest rank person, not a middle rank. And yes, I know that at rank 9 I can't talk much, but I watch rank 1 streamers and, unless you're Tyde (who exaggerates everything), I see some struggles but a lot of 2-3 kill games.

    TL;DR
Killers are underpowered but quit exaggerating.
  • Don't you touch my moris... They are the best anti-SWF item in the game. Tell me moris are overpowered when you're a rank 12 killer playing against ranks 5s and 6s with triple prestige and DS with only 1 lvl 12 player in your game...

I just played a match at rank 12 with: R7 triple prestige Jake with maxed perks, R6 Meg, R9 triple prestige Claudette, and 1 R12 Jake that sucked. On top of that, all but the R12 Jake had self care/adrenaline or DS.

When you remove the ability of killers to have counters to level surges like this, it makes someone learning how to kill have a serious disadvantage. Also, this game is still fresh so I'm a little salty (only had 2 kills and didn't pip). The game before this one I had a rank 4 Kate... And she tea bagged me as much as she could throughout the game before I grabbed her ass trying to use the hatch and killed her...

  • If you give survivors the option to gain bonus points for using No Mither, you're going to have a crap ton of cocky survivors thinking they're good enough to run it. Great for killers, terrible for unlucky solo survivors that have to deal with it. I've seen about 10 people using it and only 1 person has not died when running it. Dont give other survivors incentive to run it...
  • Pig main here. I wouldn't mind having the traps start ticking immediately. The survivors get way too much time to heal up/untrap before it becomes a threat. I usually end up saving the traps for end game so that I can loop the boxes while they have to take it off before exit. That kind of makes traps incredibly situational and not too menacing...

Okay Franklin's Demise used to work when you downed someone with a chain saw.
But it doesn't do that any more, and I thought about why the devs nerfed it,....and they did nothing to this perk to be honest.
So I think they should make it the way it used to be since there is no difference.

Could Knock out also work for survivors on the hook? to an extant.

D Strike, honestly the simplest solution to avoid having an entire group have it and (for people like me who mained Laurie when we first played) to not get angry at the perk getting reworked, is to make it where only the obsession can use the perk.
Only the obsession can use the perk, and anyone who isn't the obsession can't use it, thus wasting a perk slot.
And we have a chat before the game begins so we can just ask each other if someone is going to use it.

Dying light, make it instead of killing your obsession make it to where anyone you injure has the work speed penalty until 2 to 3 gens are popped. (tier 1 and 2 = 2 gens tier 3 = 3 gens) Or after you injure your obsession (the obsession doesn't need to stay injured for it to work)

Also since ranking is honestly pointless could we just get rid of it?
Its a source of a lot of toxicness and people use it as an excuse to be jerks or say someone's thoughts and ideas are trash.

    1) I play solo survivor, not SWF, so I can't chat with people to see who will use it or not.
    2) I never use DS either way because on PS4 the needle is way too unreliable.
    3) Again, this may be a solo player thing, but I need ranking for now. I don't want to matchmake with a random player that doesn't know how to play which is possible. Maybe if ranking gets removed have matchmaking based on player level?
    4) I like Bastion's idea for DS.
    5) Maybe this is a PS4 thing, but at rank1 I barely see people running DS. If I'm lucky I'll see 1 person using it every other match but usually it's like every 3-4 matches.

I know it wouldnt be possible for especific maps, so it's just a dumb idea:
A killer who jumps from tree to tree and jumps on you to down you.
I think it would be scary as hell xD
Obviously there would be some kind of notifications, like seeing a few leaves falling from the tree when killers travel to them.

    Like a zombie lemur!

  • Testing... Time to edit all my posts!

  • What are the rare items for the toolbox? I don't even know.

  • I would want to be the Wraith because he has such a cute little walk.

  • Unlike some of these killers that don't actually want to help and just say git gud, I will try to tell you why killers are not overpowered.
Once you gain more experience as a survivor and gain more abilities, the game becomes a lot easier. Early in the game, survivors don't know about things like looping, gen rushing, or other mechanics that start to make it a hassle for killers. Beginner survivors slowly learn how to better hear the heartbeat of the killers or how to properly use pallets to stun or block killers. When you run, you leave huge scratch marks that are only visible to the killer and when you get injured blood spots show up as well. Killers will be able to track you down very quickly if you do not learn how to dodge/drop/loop.
Also, if you are playing solo survivor ( as in you aren't playing with a friend) you are probably going to play with other people that are new. By the time you get to around rank 10-12, you will notice that you can dodge killers properly, that totems are easier to find as long as you don't run to them, and how to avoid getting caught with doing gens.
The only real way you will realize that killers are not as strong as you think is by a) playing as a killer and b) playing more games. A win (I will get hate for this...) for a killer is fully killing 2 survivors, and as you continue to play and level, you will see that more survivors will begin to escape.
I hope this explains it for you.

  • I'm pretty sure it's because they're in a team together. When I (rank 1) play with my brother (rank 19) I usually play against a rank 12ish killer.

  • Ya I think I misread what they meant. It's still a hassle on console lol.

  • I don't think they'll remove ranks, but maybe make them harder to earn? As a solo survivor, I can hit rank 1 after reset in a couple of days and finding matches is difficult. Maybe require it to be 10 pips instead of 5 and extend the reset to 3 months? Maybe I'm wrong.

  • It's 15%, not 25%. I don't agree that it should lose it's ultra rare status but I do think it should be buffed to 20%. Granted, hitting a skill check on PS4 is more challenging than on PC so maybe it only needs a buff on PS4.

  • Identity V fixed hatch stand-off easily, Dead by Daylight can easily do the same

once hit the survivor goes a few meters away from the hatch when injured, ofc nothing happen if they are healthy

<font color=coral> I don't understand what you said, can you reword that please? I can't get the color change ffs...
  • They did need a nerf yet some on the killer side used every excuse and insult under the sun to say why they weren't happening. I agree with DS, perhaps not being removed but it definitely needed a nerf. I only pointed out the salty minority because the person i responded to was from said minority.

The issue with SC isn't the heal itself since it can be negated to an extent but with people abusing it healing 2 feet from killer on other side of pallet/window. Yet the vocal minority complains that it needs to be removed from the game. They basically want no healing at all not even medkits if they're completely honest.

The changes to it that I and others proposed that if it gets stopped it resets are a good balance yet to the minority they'll get what they want no more heals in front of killer then still complain it's broken.

The way I see it is that, if almost everyone is running it, it needs to be reviewed. I run SC on PS4 all the time and it's my favorite skill. I also notice that most survivors on PS4 these days run it as well. I think the best solution, and one that won't push off the survivors would be like you and many others have said, have it reset if you stop. It would still be a useful skill, but against a killer with NC (especially now that it is in the shrine) it would be a bigger challenge.
The main problem I see is that the same killers that always say or post images of the Doctor saying "Git Gud" are the ones always complaining that killers are underpowered. Any time a survivor has any complaint (look at any balance forum posted by a survivor) the amount of "git gud" replies is depressing. Don't get me wrong, there are killers that will post valid counter arguments but those are the minority. I feel like in game, survivors are the toxic ones, but out of game it's the killers that are toxic.
I know I'm about to get spammed saying that I'm full of crap and I need to git gud so go ahead :/

  • If they did that at all I'd say 5 seconds is enough max but it wouldn't really be fair to just give him specifically a cool down like that when other killers don't really have that on their powers. I play survivor and killer though not hillbilly but my suggestion to you is if you already don't use a headset and get nea's urban evasion. I don't think it's that big of an issue though I don't want to tell you git gud like everyone is doing because that helps nothing. Hiding behind the generator can definitely help but once you've done that just stealth walk away and hide behind something that still let's you see him. They usually leave after not seeing anyone on the gen and if you can avoid starting it if you suspect he'll rush your way.
I know that this is an old post but I agree with you. Also, thank you for giving a proper response without any hate.
  • 3 gens solo = iridescent lightbringer

Escape never being downed = iridescent survival

Now it depends. If you didnt farm each other you will get bronze emblem in altruism, never having performed altruistic action since you already start with bronze.

Now assuming farming already happened, you need to stay a short amount of time in the terror radius or wave at the camping killer and walk back to the gen ("escaping the chase") to get a bronze evader emblem

It really isnt that hard, is it?

I'll see if I get another face camping killer soon and try this out. If it works, thank you! Still kind of stupid having to walk to the killer as a survivor but if they're face camping shouldn't be a problem.
  • Explain the fact that I pip as survivor without being chased by the killer once and without performing ANY altruistic action.

You must be better than me then. I've had many matches where the killer camps and I'll do 3 gens solo, break totems, and open the gate and still not pip.

You could also have it where you have to do 1 specific generator before the gates open but that gets removed once 5 minutes have passed. You could also have it where only 1 ultra rare add on can be used in a game, so no gear stacking or insta heal spams. I play survivor and killer and I feel like any one of these changes would be helpful and not too big a hassle for the survivors.
Yeah but I can counter with why have to sit around and wait in a corner or hide somewhere while the time limit passes that you're referring too... the objective needs to be something that survivors cant avoid and finding tools or gas or something interesting maybe they need to power a cercuit breaker before repairing the gens or after the gens... anything that's remotely interesting that cant be by passed by creeping around.. the goal is to slow them down so the gen rush doesn't ruin the game like it does now..
I'm not saying that your idea is wrong, but for a game that historically favors the survivors your idea would never pass. There would be too many posts saying that the game will be too hard and whatnot and they'll be too scared to implement it. Having something like capping ultra rare addons or having the random generator would be easy enough to digest and also be a huge help to killers. We need baby steps.
  • I dont know how to delete a posts I sent twice...
  • I also play on PS4. I bought the game on PC when it first came out and played for like a day then quit, but then the game was free on PS4... I've been playing for 3 weeks now and have rank 1 on survivor and rank 10 on Killer. As a survivor, I will say that the game was fun until around rank 3. The killers, especially Freddys, would just camp like no tomorrow. I got hooked by a Freddy and I could see the little jerk moving in the grass waiting for someone to unhook me and I admit that I have sent about 3 hate messages to face camping killers. When I played killer, it was incredibly entertaining until I got to about rank 12, then the survivors became toxic. I had one match where there was a rank 2 Dwight that spammed flashlight and tagged like crazy... I never camp as a killer and that does mean on average I only get about 2 or 3 kills but that still means I level and I have yet to get hate messages. I think the main problem with playing on PS4 is that it feels soooooooo laggy. As a survivor I had to stop using DS because the needle will randomly skip and when I do skill checks I never feel like I have control when I get the great checks. As a killers, holy hell do players skip around on my screen. I'll be in a lobby and my ping will be green but the second the match starts it goes all over the place. It's not my internet either, I have 350Mbps down and 45 Mbps up with 0 packet loss. I dont know if other people are having this issue too but for my PS4 play, it's a huge pain. Those aremy thoughts on DBD.

    camping is fine.

You want to punish that? You know what people call thugs who punish things they don't like? bullies. Thugs. I can continue.

You're reversing psychology and not even thinking about rewarding killer for not being near hook. If the reward is "not getting punished" then you're worse than thug. Thugs at least honest they're thugs.

You know, Pop Goes the Weasel in my opinion is the best perk in game. It rewards killer for going away from hook. Even if killer comes back, you had your chance. If that mechanic was build-in than people would camp much less simply because they had things to do.

Who mentioned SWF or comms? I also play both survivor and killer and it's crazy how much killers support camping. BBQ rewards killers for not camping but still seen them camp with the perk so adding more rewards may not be the answer.

If survivors wouldnt play so much SWF, then killers would camp a lot less.
Fact is that SWF have an insane advantage via voice comms and can knock the gens very fast due to that and play more time efficient. The killer can try to counter this by camping and using the over-altruism of SWF because they wanna save their mates.

Its always funny, but I have 4 BBQ stacks in almost every game and I still get blamed for tunnel/camp and all that stuff

The only perks that truely reward walking away from teh hook are devour hope and make your choice. Make your choice is only good on a few killers, but it has the problem that you never know whether you are too close or not and the survivors sees the exposed notifaction.
Devour hope is a hex which makes it bad for obviosu reasons.

Buff one of these perks and you will see immediately results in the "camping stats"

It's not that survivors want to be altruistic, it's the fact that you need to to level up. When a killer face camps you're essentially losing 2 of the 4 categories you need to level or rank up in the game. I understand that there need to be changes made so that killers are more incentivised but saying "git gud" or "tough" is not a solution. In the case of camping, no one really wins because neither the killer nor the survivor will get points. I play killer and I understand how toxic survivors can be and I also play survivor where you see the killer hitting the hooked person to be a jerk. I think this is a problem on both ends.
  • u know how when u fail a skillcheck but keep going. the progressbar doesnt increase for like 2 seconds..
how about that being default. heck u can remove 2 seconds off of the total repair time for all i care. but make it so survivors arent able to gen tap and still get progress. minimum time of no progression should be the equal ammount of time till a skillcheck can be triggerd and failed. a second longer would be even better..

only other fix.. skillchecks can happen the same millisecond that u start working on a generator. with skillchecks becomming more frequent at that time the more times u started working on a generator.

this is easy possible.. if u chose not to do it. its just that. ur choice. ur choice not to balance this out.

I completely agree. I hate gen tapping...
