  • I'm about to go on an absolute splurge of topics and how I feel about this game, being a veteran player since 2017. I really hope you guys read this through and I ask for devs to read this too, but I do not know how likely that is. I ask of you guys to read it fully, I'll try not to make it a college essay, no promises. Modernization of Dead By Daylight- Dbd is a game that creates nostalgia for

  • The title. I'm playing on ps4 and I go upstairs and it has normal lighting, it's easy to see, while my friend on XBOX says some parts of upstairs are pitch black and the room with the gen is actually super eerie with the red light. Why is this

  • I remember when maps looked like this in the good ol days of dbd. Gives me nostalgia. Taking a photo of a yt vid is really bad quality so I'll just give you guys the vid. You'll see the blurriness in the distance and that was the best effect that should of never been removed. https://youtu.be/l5qDBF_-Clk This video was recently given to me by a very friendly forum user wil

  • It's when there was a blur in the distance- you looked into the distance and it was blurry creating a spooky effect. It is called Depth of Field in a movie production stand point but what was it called in dead by daylight. I'm going through the patch notes (starting from 1.1) and I just can't seem to find it anywhere, so I need the exact name that the devs called it. Thanks!

  • I find myself searching yt videos for this effect. Depth of field was when you looked into the distance and it was blurry, creating a really good horror like feel. This is the main in game mechanic/graphic that I remember being amazing, and it's what provided the horror/spooky feel to dead by daylight. Does anybody know when this was introduced into the game and gotten rid of. It would also be g

  • I believe it was called "depth of field" it was when you looked into the distance and saw blurriness creating a more horror feel to the game. I missed this and I can't seem to find it in videos because I don't think it lasted long because of the glitches it caused especially with claydettes hair being able to be seen across the map. It would be great if the patch notes for this can be provided o

  • I posted a simular discussion yesterday, but instead it was more of the old gameplay and most people said they hated the old balance and gameplay but loved the feel and theme of old maps. They liked the darkness and fog and actually horror feel of the game So what I'm asking now is how many of us want those old aesthetics and horror feeling back into the game. I'm not exactly saying graphics bec

  • I sure do miss the good ol days. There was something about old dbd that made the game more scary. People actually played the game as intended (stealth) and the animations showed fear, the visuals were spooky (blurriness when you look in the distance), thick fog, better auras (a little darker and outlined in black), old running, always fast vaulting, and throwing down pallets at light speed, faci

  • I've said it for a long time- fire up should be base kit (besides the picking up action being faster) because it's not gen rushing that's the problem, it's the animations that take so long. Would you guys prefer the 10% less m1 cooldown and 10% less survivor hit recovery speed and 10% less time to kick pallets or fire up base kit? A perk that is forgotten and most people don't even know what it i

  • Spine Chill pretty much just got optimized. It seems like it will be more smooth now, the little vaulting nerf is a shame, but it isn't a huge deal. I think more perks should be changed like this. Optimized but not completly reworked

  • Don't see why people are freaking out about it. You recieve the endurance effect for what a minute? Sure that's cool, but literary any action you do will cancel the endurance. You're going to try to find yourself using the endurance, but ending up wasting so much time when you could of used that time for a gen. This perk is not really that great start game, and mid game. Only end game is when th

  • Generators: The time it takes to complete a generator has been increased to 90 seconds. Kicking a generator as a Killer will remove 2.5% of progress. Killer: Breaking pallets, walls, and kicking generators are now 10% quicker. The basic attack cooldown is reduced by 10%, and Survivor’s speed boost upon being hit is also reduced by 10%. Bloodlust tiers will now activate after 15/25/35 seconds.

  • Say good by to the most OG perk. I'll miss it dearly, but now that it is getting a buff, what's it gonna be? It's probably just going to be a whole rework. Let's hear some ideas. Here's mine. Big Daddies Shrine: Whenever the basement chest is searched, the searcher receives the exposed status effect for 75 seconds. Whenever someone is hooked in the basement all survivors auras are revealed fo

  • Let's start from the beginning. Tiles with double pallets used to be a thing in 2016 and 17. There were literary 2 pallets at every tile. Just imagine 2 pallets at every jungle gym, ik crazy. Well pallets back then where not valued too much because there were so many. You may of heard "camping pallets like it's 2017" before because back then looping wasn't really the thing at people just camped p

  • The dude imo is S teir. He out of everyone needs a nerf, his buff earlier on imo was not needed, but an increase of knives was. Overall he's a way better huntress and a slightly less nurse. He ends chases in seconds and his knives have no mid chase cooldown like huntress or deathslinger. I don't see how people arnt complaining about him. Trickster is the only killer I ever complain about becaus

  • In my opinion he is super balanced. Great design, great power, it really all comes down to which IRL player is better when it comes to the dredge. It's really all about prediction and timing with him, those type of killers are usually the balanced ones. Demogorgan may also be another balanced killer on realease but I think I remeber him getting a nerf on his portals.

  • It's hit or miss with nurse, they're even super good vets or really bad. Let me go deeper into this. 1. It's 50/50 if you go up against a nurse and they are good or bad. If they are bad that's an insta escape but if they are good then you would probably get booty clapped, especially if you're jane. But the fact that veteran players that don't play nurse much, try out nurse and are not good with

  • People want to play this game with there friends, cross platform came out so other people can play with their friends on differnt platforms. Bhvr would loose so much money getting rid of SWF, and I don't see why people care about going against them. Swf for the most part are fun to go against because you know everyone is on mic and you can show off, and obliterate them. The main reason people h

  • If there has been it's working very well. Ever since I came back from my 2 week dbd break (I came back cause of event) I've been matched up with really good teammates and against really good killers (which it should be for me.) And as killer I've been going against people that have similar skill to me aswell. It seems to be working very well lately and every match is a competitive match, but less

  • Dead by daylight actually used to be a scary game for new and veteran players. It was dark and the fog offerings where actually foggy. I do agree that the old fog was a little over the top (super hard killer tracking) and the moonlight offerings got a little insane sometimes (crazy dark), but there still needs to be a more stealthy aspect to the game, which contributes to a more horror aspect.

  • He's such an open killer to work with. His power has endless opportunities to make it better. Here are some suggestions. Survivors don't have a max stalking point (endlessly stalk the same survivor). Base movement speed in t1. 8 meter terror radios in t3 (This would be super thrilling as a survivor and fun to get jump scares. Also a good boost to save some time by not having to chase.)

  • Guys, who cares about what someone else says. If other people get under your skin because of "bad game manners" then maybe you shouldn't be playing dead by daylight. Something is "toxic" if you make it toxic. I saw a recent post that was like "I got stomped and someone said gg. bad game manners." Like how on earth is that bad game manners. Saying GG is very respectful no matter the end results. T

  • It was so good. I just recently posted on it and what it was called because I forgot and someone told me it was called "Depth of field." (When you look into the distance and it is blurry.) I loved it so much. It added such a good feeling to the game. I believe it was back in 2016 or 17. I miss it so much, it's what truly got me into dbd. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discus

  • The background being blurry when you look into the distance. It's hard to explain. There was like a distance blur that created a super cool effect that made dbd feel scary. It got removed because of visual issues, but when? When was the blurry distance a thing? Like what chapter release. I remember a video of Monto playing in the corn against a nurse and the blurry background was a thing in the v

  • Now that dredge will be in the game Sadoka will pretty much die. The only reason she may get some play time is because she is licences and people like her movie. Overall though so many players are going to be looking at dredges and sadokas power and conclude that dredges is similar but better, PLUS dredge is 9k shards and you have to buy sadoka with cells, so dredgy will be the more popular optio

  • New game modes for this game sound appealing, but how good would the gameplay be? A 2v8, 3v16 etc would create so many holes in the game that would take years to correct. Modes like this will come out and there will be so many glitches and people will start constantly complaining that their are glitches in a game mode and they won't be grateful for the new modes. Bhvr does something that fans ask

  • The bloodweb to many people is an OG game mechanic that, this sounds ridiculous, has sentimental value. Especially to 2016, 2017 players like me. The bloodweb in dbd is a core game mechanic that if removed, many veteran players will leave. Now the whole specualtion on bloodweb being changed is because of grind and new players having too much grind. I personally believe the grind is fine, but I d

  • Truly there is no overpowered killer. You may say nurse, but nurse takes so much skill to master you maybe play a pro nurse once in 50 matches. No big deal. I would say blight would be the closest killer up there to recieve a nerf, but then again how many times do you go against blight? Once in 20 matches maybe. The only killer that really needed a nerf imo was deathslinger and he got absolutly s

  • People hate a perk or were just destroyed by a killer or a swf team and then come one here and complain about it. The complaining part is fine, this is a forum, go ahead and list your opinion, but don't list your opinion based off of 1 match or 1 very skilled meg that ran you the whole game. For instance DH... Yes it's very powerful and it needs a nerf but many killer mains hate it so much the

  • I'm playing killer and I come across a jane in tight shorts and I be lookin at her booty and it mesmerized me. Next thing you know I look up and 4 gens are gone like bro what the hell please nerf. And as a survivor whenever a jane hops on a gen or starts to heal me I get distracted and miss my skillchecks. She is basically a built in huntress lullaby but instead- Jane's booty call. Now when sh

  • People say something is "toxic" when mostly it ain't toxic at all. Being toxic is when you are abusing someone (in an intentional manner to get them mad). And do not start to say that tbaging or flashlight clicking or hitting people on the hook is toxic cause it ain't at all. Toxic would be when someone messages you after the game verbally abusing you. I had a survivor message me (I was her tea

  • Dead hard before res evil was the same as it is now. It was never talked about and it has been used the same. Obv during res evil release dh didn't even work, but now it's back to normal and it's now being complained about (after it was fixed). I don't see why people just started talking about it this year (and some of last).

  • No one takes in count that 3/4 of the time you loose a game is because the survivors are just better than you. People make a mistake in game and come on the forums and blaim it on a perk when you could of actually played the situation better. I don't like saying this, it makes me sound like a 5 year old fortnite kid... but most of the time it is a skill issue. It ain't mmr thats the problem, it a

  • Start with 4 stacks, each time you boon a totem you loose a stack. When you hit 0 you can't boon any more. It's that easy, balances out coh perfectly. That or just make booning totems take longer. Boons arnt complicated and I don't see why they don't just get an easy fix. Everyone is trying to get to complicated with the perks when all that needs to be done is a simple nerf like a maximum use or

  • I've played this game since 2017 and sure at times I got pissed when I was camped or tunneled, but it gets to a certain point where it's understandable. Tunneling is simply a good strategy to essentially end the game early and release tension through the game. camping is great to secure a kill, or even secure multiple kills depending on your teammates playstyle. There is a fine line between toxi

  • He's simply too modern. You have all these old school killers and dbd is generally a rustic feeling type horror game, and out of no where this k pop killer drops and he has a futuristic bat that makes laser sounds and throwing knives. Trickster just doesn't fit the game at all imo. He's a cool concept but ruined the feeling of the game. A dev must of been a bts/k-pop fan.

  • Dead hard is a time saving perk. You activate it, the killer respects it and you die, or you use it wisely and gain an extra 20 seconds in chase. Corrupt Intervention Is a time saver and located perk. You save time by forcing survivors to go to unblocked gen and you patrol those gens, finding them and forcing them off of gen. They both cancel out so I don't see why killers are complaining abo

  • Fire Up. Not to op, but saves time. Breaking generators, picking people up and taking them to hook, dropping them, and ofc breaking pallets and vaulting are about 1/3 maybe even 1/2 of the time you spend in a normal game. These actions take so much time to do and it's not "gen rushing" that's the problem but it's how long animations take. Fire up base kit would be a nice addition to killers and

Now with cross play I probably play with friendsfor about 500 hours and solo q for 500, so about 3.5 k hours in total. Out of all my solo q hours it isn't really that bad. Most people understand how to gens and that's all you really need to know to be a good teammate, it's also fun seeing everyon

There can be posts in a more formal manner than a childish whining manner. If you think about it she's a nurse if you know where to place traps. The only hard part about hag is that you need to know where to swing when you come up from a trap but besides that she's an A teir killer
