The McClean patch. When they listened to the community and tweaked Spirit and penalized Gunslinger for ADS spam.
Who's next? Hm....
Right, two horrendous changes that were made and resulted in those killers disappearing. Great example lol

It's not really bad logic if you want to balance this game around more than just the very best killers. Unless you enjoy the idea that only Nurse and Blight should be viable killers.
They’re not going to do that: that’s what people don’t get. No amount of buffs is going to elevate the worse killers. The game would need to be redesigned. What has BHVR done to inspire any confidence in balance?

She was the strongest killer when BNPs were still instant, infinites existed, insta heals were around, double pallets on jungle gyms, larger and stronger loops on most maps, insta blinds existed, DS was still on first down, borrowed time protected both people, exhaustion went down in chase, and despite all of that being gone she is unchanged besides an add-on pass, she is absolutely busted.
And despite all of those things being removed, high level survivor is bonkers busted and 99% of the cast can't win if the survivors know what they are doing.

If you didn't understand my comment you quoted, you don't understand game balance as a whole, not just Dead by Daylight, and that's okay.
The only thing you said is that people think she is good so she should be nerfed. Perks getting changed isn’t going to change the fact that this game’s mechanics are fundamentally broken. It will still be survivor sided unless that is massively changed

No need to attempt a whataboutism here. My point in creating this post is that if Nurse is still the best killer in the game uncontested after the Perk Overhaul, there's no excuse for her to not receive some changes. I don't really think that's debatable from a game balance perspective of which I'm coming from. She has the lowest kill rate at all levels but she is regarded the best killer by all players in all roles at all levels of the game. That is not good game balance, at all.
A character being the best doesn’t mean they need a nerf. Bad logic

but the thing is you dont need to 4k so wouldnt you want more interesting/harder and engaging chases rather then 4king bots?
I and many people consider 4ks to be wins. By no means am I saying that I expect 4k every game, but when I lose it should feel like I had a chance if I made some better choices. High rank DBD does not feel this way; the outcome feels predetermined. I’m not a bot that exists to make sure survivors have fun. I have mostly quit killer because it isn’t fun.

Please, for the love of God, fix these addons or disable them. Every time I go against nurse using them it's just GG. She's unstoppable. Instant, undodgeable blinks. I don't play the game in a 4-man sweat squad but even if I did I don't think it would make a difference. A nurse who can land blinks using these addons simply can't be beat, and even an otherwise mediocre nurse using them is guaranteed a 3k.

She's a free win for the killer as soon as she stacks 3 slowdowns and uses decent addons. Same problem, opposite side
Also not true. Competent groups still hold an advantage over her. The difference is that she can achieve 2k while other killers play for 0-1.

idk, getting a hit at pretty much every loop in the game is pretty monka, and you can even get hits at most loops if the pallet is dropped. Very few killers have the same level of strength. I've personally been on a quest to see which loops you can get downs with Slinger even after the pallet is dropped.
But yeah, it wasn't for 0 reason. Quickscoping and tap ADS were pretty much impossible to deal with as survivor, but the Terror Radius nerf was uncalled for.
This is wrong. What most people don’t talk about is that the ads nerf made many loops ALOT stronger against him. It is now impossible for him to hit at some corners because he raises the gun too slow and is a slow walking killer. This isn’t “fair counterplay”. He is powerless in these situations.

MMR isn't horrible. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. The issue is that a lot of players don't want to face people of equal skill, they want noobs they can beat with one hand and blind folded, so they whine when they actually have to try at the game.
The problem is that in a high rank match of equal skill, the killer can’t win. The game needs to be balanced to have MMR, but the devs refuse to balance for anything other than scrubs.

That’s a misleading statement. Nurse is “easier” in the sense that she has a far better chance of mindgaming and downing than other killers. Twins are only harder in the sense that it is literally impossible to win in some situations. That’s more game limitation and artificial difficulty.

I watch Dreede, Absolved, Pro Vengeance; all veteran killer players who I would estimate win over 90% of their games handily. It's not uncommon for them to play entire streams without dropping a game. Pro Vengeance specifically just got off a 160 MMR winstreak, and had a 100+ MMR winstreak on clown.
So you can argue they are low MMR all you want but if you are not max MMR after winning 100 games in a row the matchmaking is just broken
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zN1vlrX5tOo
People can crutch on Nurse all they want but it doesn't change a thing in my mind, I say git gud. Every time I load into a match as survivor and it's a Nurse I wonder why that broken character is still in the game
Well matchmaking is known to be broken. No sense in arguing with someone as close minded as you

The first blink from long range is the main one you can mess up. That is when the survivor actually has a chance to juke, once you get within a certain range from the first one there is no juking anymore since the second blink can be followed up with so rapidly.
Any distance from a good juke can also instantly be negated with certain addons. Distance from being hit is instantly negated.
Even if the Nurse misses 3+ blinks in a row with some addons it doesn't matter because she can still be downing you in under 30~ seconds. Short of an incredibly strong building nearby there is typically no escape from even a half decent nurse.
I see killer streamers playing all sorts of killers and finding plenty of success. Average kill rates for all killers across the board are well over 50%. Many go out of their way to NOT play nurse because they consider her too easy. I agree with that sentiment personally,
She is a crutch for baby killers who would get curbstomped on most other characters
Beating bad survivors with bad killers doesn’t prove anything. Idk who you watch, but all of the killer streamers i know have struggled significantly since MMR has been implemented. Some have even contemplated quitting. If you think the game is fine at a high level, you are purely delusional.
-
@KurnDisciple said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2946506#Comment_2946506
One is how good you have to be to initially find success with the killer, the other is how good you have to be to play them at their theoretical maximum potential.
And Nurse is pretty easy, you just need to land the first blink in their general vicinity and then the second one has such a short range there's not much skill involved in landing it a lot of the time
With how strong she is, you can still miss half your blinks and win. Especially with the busted range addons. With her mobility you can misposition around the map constantly and not be punished
There is a reason everyone plays her, and it's not because she is that hard to pick up
What backwards logic. The 2nd blink being shorter makes it more difficult because it is literally impossible to catch up in some situations. People play Nurse because this game is beyond broken for most killers. Killer players want to have a chance.

An educated guess. Like in so many other aspects of the game (and life), people are fairly predicable in chase. Funnily enough, the better you get at the game, the more predictable you become. Even those who think they aren't, are. You play enough, and you have a pretty good idea of how people are going to respond in most situations. Which is really what the "skill" in DBD amounts to; predicting the actions of your opponent based on experience.
This is why I actually find looping in chase to be really boring, it's just a numbers game; you know with some certainty that your opponent is going to do one of only a few things, and when you guess right, you get the down. But it very, very rarely results in something surprising.
Nurse just so happens to be the best equipped killer in the game for punishing predictable behavior, as she is unconstrained by loops they way other killers are. Once you have good command of her technical aspects, and a ton of time playing the game, you have a recipe for generally oppressing surv teams.
And the old double back as counterplay really loses its effectiveness as you progress.
The idea that people get worse as the game progresses is not true. That just shows that some people can’t/won’t learn how to play. Once the Nurse knows you double back, you then fake the double back and continue running forward/breaking LOS. Her second blink doesn’t have enough distance to correct a wrong guess on a fake back. She has to commit ahead of time.
-
@Ayamir said:
Trust me you're not the only one here who dislike Nurse she is probably the most hated killer on the forum hell in the whole game, people complain about Nurse every days...
She has counterplay but I agree that it can be frustrating playing against a God-tier Nurse who never make any mistakes always on point with her blinks and predictions.
And her broken range add-ons make it even harder to last in chase against the Nurse,I think we should nerf some of her add-ons then maybe talk about a future rework of her power.
If she isn’t making any mistakes, you are getting outplayed. She has to guess to get her hits
-
@txcrnr said:

There isn’t really any counterplay, though. If you double back, fake double back, don’t attempt it at all… these are all accounted for by the nurse player. If they whiff the first, regardless of which option you went with, the second blink is always going to be enough for them to correct. Maybe the fix is just take away the second blink, lol.
You are objectively wrong. Nurse can’t know for sure the survivor is going to double back. She has to hold the blink charge ahead of time to counter them continuing forward. It’s a guess

I'm going to try to be quick responding to the "She's Perfect" team as a whole:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935227#Comment_2935227
This has a very easy explanation. The vast majority of players who play killer, won't pick Nurse. She has a very specific and "complex" (compared to the other killers) mechanic, and most players just don't want to bother with it. So, only a very low percentage of players who play killer pick her to begin with. Out of those, there are many who pick her randomly to get a daily, there are many who don't main her and perform horribly when they pick her, and that's obviously going to dramatically boost the escapes she gets.
"lOoK aT ThE wIn DaTA" Yeah. it's lower (not dramatically lower, by the way) , for the reasons I already explained.
But then let's go for killers who actually enjoy her/are experienced as her. Now, this is not a situation of "High skill = high performance = fair".
Because that makes perfect sense, nobody in their right mind would be against that, even though some of you seem to think people who disagree with you must be some sort of dumb monkeys compared to your mighty intellect. You don't have to be smart to get that. Everyone gets it. It's obvious. But this is not the situation we have with Nurse. The situation we have with Nurse is, getting to the point of knowing how to play her and how she works, because of her very nature of ignoring every basic game mechanic every other killer has to follow (collision, obstacles in between, pallets, windows, tiles, you get what I mean), automatically means there's very little window of reaction if at all for survivors. Throw her broken addons on top of that, and you have a super fast moving (blinking), super far away (crazy range and mobility), barely punished killing machine. Once you get to a certain level as her, there's very little the player can do against you. There's situations, if they get extremely lucky with the map (the game) or certain spots where she can't see ( the peer bridge in the swamp) that you can break LOS and pray she doesn't know how to handle those spots already through pure experience.
Everyone who has been around long enough knows that. Many of you who are hilariously trying to lecture me, you probably weren't even here when I started playing against Nurse and knew how to deal with her long before you pressed "install" on this game. I know what to do against her, the spots that are and are not good for her, and the only few strategies you have against any decent Nurse. But precisely because I know all too well, I know there's very little you can do in most situations, *especially as a solo queue survivor with randoms where you will spawn in the trial, count to 10 and have somebody downed and hooked*.
The issue isn't that she rewards skill with high performance, the issue is she is so strong at core that she will anihilate 99% of teams easily turning, especially solo queue matches into unplayable, pointless games. What's the point? You already know how the match will turn out most of the time, because she isn't playing against others, she plays against herself. If she is good, there's very little room for escapes. The better she is, the less room for mistakes there is. And the worse she is, yeah, her game will get more horrible for her. But, unlike other killers, she doesn't have a limit to her chase power. She can literally down everyone in a matter of seconds in different spots of the map. As I said, throw the broken addons into this, and it's just "Ah well, Nurse, let's pray either super bad or let's just get it over with and move on".
That's boring. Might as well play a single player game.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935588#Comment_2935588
"Your skill limited", but you fail to understand, it is not your skill. You are given a tool that ignores every mechanic, that's not your skill. It takes longer to learn and it's harder sure, but it's as if I was cheating in the game, I could fly, I could teleport, and I became really good at it. "Don't limit my skill" No, you're just using a broken killer lol
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2935565#Comment_2935565
I already addressed many of these arguments in my previous post. The issue isn't that her skill is rewarded accordlingly, the issue is that players who master her will get disproportionate advantage and power over everyone else, in a much higher proportion than it should, against the vast majority of the players.
Balancing the game around tournament players isn't fair for me, because as a solo player, I don't have access not even to decent players, let alone "the elite".
It takes skill to predict the survivor movement. I would argue that other killers actually factor in skill very little since their mechanics are so limited. It doesn’t matter how good you are when the map is full of safe loops.
-
@Sumnox said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2934591#Comment_2934591
That is simply not true. "Good" survivors won't last against a good Nurse in most maps. I'm not arguing you might have "god tier" survivors running around very good Nurses. How many of those exist? one? ten? twenty? fifty? out of thousands.
Your argument about balancing Nurse around a minority is invalid, for the simple reason that you will always get a survivor, no matter how good they are at the game, in time. Also that survivor relies on their team for objectives, while you only rely as a Nurse on yourself. It is widely known the kill rate universally is well beyond 3 kills, meaning most games end in a 3 or 4k, because 99% of the teams are just average survivors that don't know how to play optimally.
Should the game be balanced around 99% of the playerbase? Absolutely yes.
The “god tier” survivors show what is possible. There are so many false statements in your posts that I don’t know where to begin. No, in time all survivors will not improve. They would rather complain and get things nerfed, and BHVR has shown them that this is a viable approach. If we are going to balance the game to cater to scrubs, count me out. I’m not going to have my skill limited because a bunch of survivor mains with fragile egos refuse to learn. The numbers for this game continue to drop. Killers don’t support this approach.

Decisions, decisions, so many decisions
And as I said, with Plaid Flannel the only hard part about Nurse is basically removed. Which is knowing which objects are going to cuck your blink. Other than that she is easy street. Needs to be nerfed into the ground imo, again. That way all the people who need to rely on her for wins can get kicked down a peg and actually have to learn DBD

with addons it does. but either way, you can't outrun a nurse even if she isn't hitting half or even 2/3rds of her blinks. she has close to no penatly for messing up, whereas any other killers would either need to reload, wait for cooldown, get stunned by hitting obstacles, hope no pallets or windows are nearby, regain distance, etc... only to get hit by a good DH to a window or pallet. nurse has none of these problems to deal with, besides having a somewhat short cooldown

Definitely not. Survivor perks are often far more impactful. Most of the good killer perks have to be earned (pop, bbq) or can be destroyed/ timed out. If both sides are competent and not running perks/addons, survivors will win. Base game mechanics are in the survivors’ favor.

All the people complaining about Dead hard are so short-sighted.
At high mmr sprint burst and Dead hard are equally powerful. The reason Dead hard is used more is because it is an active ability, thus more fun.
If Dead hard gets nerfed everyone will just switch to sprint burst which is equally powerful.
At lower mmr killers can easily take advantage of survivors who aren't efficient in their use of Dead hard.
Like other people have said, too. The already too-powerful-against-solo-queue nurse and Blight would need to be nerfed if Dead hard was nerfed. Would that be alright?
If the devs are truly willing to nerf Dead hard, then they better be willing to balance the entire game from its core. But we already know they won't do that.

You dont need to play Nurse to win games. Every Killer can win games against the majority of Survivors.
When Nurse was disabled I did not see all Killers suddenly losing every game.
Against good survivors, you 100% need to play Nurse. I don’t care about bad survivors who don’t learn the game. If we are using them as our starting point, there is no sense in having a conversation. Tier lists don’t matter if one side doesn’t know the game.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Reworked. Her Basekit is not fine. It was designed by a Dev-Team which had far less of an idea what should be in the game and what not. Nurse would not be released like this nowadays, she is one of those broken things released back then, but she is allowed to stay because Killer Mains would complain too much if she would be nerfed or reworked.
However, she should be reworked. A Nerf alone would not really help, because she should stay a strong Killer. But not bypass everything in the game.
And it is not just her Add Ons. Sure, things like a third Blink, (Double) Recharge or Range should not exist. But on the other hand, having her problematic Basekit as it is and all Add Ons being Meme Add Ons does not really sound great either.
So she should be reworked completely - base power AND Add Ons. A base power-Rework of Nurse would also allow the Add Ons to be strong and useful.
Then DBD can be 100% survivor controlled. Sounds thrilling. It’s impressive how consistently you post wildly delusional opinions.

I'm playing devils advocate here because i don't care whether she is nerfed or buffed or stays the same, but the counters sound like, run into her and hope she doesn't fire her crows at you.
Maybe they shouldn’t have hard counters? This is a 4v1 game. Killer should absolutely have an advantage in the chase. Delusional survivor mains think it should be balanced for 1v1

Absolutely. This is why new Killers don't start at the minimum rating; we expect your experience with the game as a whole to transfer over.
Is it true that killers share a base level of MMR? In other words, does my nurse, who has my highest mmr, in any way impact my rating with a new killer?

You know what maybe you’re right. I really let my Spirit emotions get the best of me (once again) in this thread. Idk I guess I just want to show why she’s such a fun killer to everyone but I get argumentative when someone says she’s weak and/or not fun even though I don’t need to.
I mean fun is subjective. You can’t really convince someone that something is fun

What's your opinion on Nurse?
Give evidence, please.
My opinion is that more killers should be like nurse. She creates the opportunity for mindgames while other killers can literally do nothing except hope to catch 1 and camp against a good team. In competitive play (which shows what is possible when people learn the game) she averages 2k and is clearly not this “game breaking” character that everyone claims her to be.
I hate to be the “back in my day” guy, but games used to incentivize you to play and improve at the game. The devs and the majority of survivors on here seem to think it’s ok to balance the game around people who are too entitled to learn.

I go against her at least once a day (if I’m playing that day). Try again.
Right, and i have over 1000 hours with her. You shouldn’t be talking about her. Lol

I play her all the time and do well with her even against good survivors. I know she’s good because of my experience. If you don’t play her, your input won’t be that valid. Not trying to be mean when I say it but it’s true.
And yet you give your opinion on Nurse (who you are clearly clueless about) all the time.
