But what are the factors used? Because you can’t count rank 20s into stats like they most likely did.
Yeah ol R20s making them stats look skewed af lmao
-
Because it is survivor sided.
Just cause you escaped doesn't mean you pipped. Likewise, you can pip and still die.
All these faulty stats do is make people think the game is balanced.

Haha cash register go chaching

Bruh, What.
Camping =! Looping lmao
camping pallets will usually end up making the survivor do worse, and looping is literally what the game is meant to be. Fun for both sides.
Camping hooks, its annoying AF b/c the killer is literally is preventing someone from playing the game.
This is a troll post right?
Actually Looping is not what the game was meant to be. The devs have said before they never intended for it to happen, it's just what ended up happening, so now it is actually accounted for in terms of balancing.

Your priority is clearly just you and what you do with your wallet, while mine is geared towards actually supporting the community and thanking them for keeping the game going so they don't leave.
You don't understand why the community wants to be rewarded and to have fun without paying for a useless pass? Fine, but don't call people entitled for wanting that from a game they've already bought.

You keep stating this, but this is just something you want, probably because it would be nice and convenient, and because it doesn't meet that standard you're complaining about it. Making all free content unlockable in game is not based in ethics or industry precedent. I don't think we have anything else to say to each other.
It's simply good customer service. That's all it is. I didn't realize things had to be written in a guidebook to actually give good customer service.
Also, if you say it isn't in industry precedent, I'm just gonna assume you don't play very many video games. Try MHW.

ummm thats convoluted as crap. Oh I got hit through a window after a lag spike after running the bubba for 5 gens but now he camps the basement which isn't skillful so he is better. Dang man you should rethink your reasoning. I have GIVEN bad killers free kills when I could escape and now im worse than them over that?
Glitches fall outside of the normal realm of gameplay, and you feeling sorry for someone also falls outside of the normal realm of gameplay.
In traditional terms of games themselves, the better player wins. It's really simple, not convoluted at all.
Also, as far as basement camping goes, assuming you didn't go down via a glitch or lagspike, you still wound up on a hook. He outplayed you. That simple.

Paying for a game does not make you entitled to additional content for free, never mind additional content that's unlockable in the specific ways you want. If Behaviour straight up stopped making new content the day after you bought the game and only released bug fixes until the game died, that's their prerogative. They never promised us free charms. Hell, most of us probably bought the game before charms even existed.
If they add content that is free, such as this charm, it should be unlockable in game.
It's a marketing plug.

To be a shill, I would have to be being "paid" for my services. You are implying that I'm secretly benefiting from pointing out that you have unrealistic expectations and sound very entitled? How exactly do I benefit from this?
Sorry, shill is probably not the right word to use.
Either way, having access to everything a game has to offer that you have to pay an initial fee for is not and should not be an issue, outside of actual DLC, which should come with all of the cosmetics that are tied to said DLC.
Sorry that I enjoy actual good practices for the consumer.

You know I ran a ghostface for 5 gens because i was playing with my gf who just started. I was obviously better but he got me with noed at end game and without my gf breaking noed and the random saving me I would have died. So no dying after you run a killer for 3 gens or 2 shows that you either are lucky or better. No good killer gets ran that long without being worse than the survivor
If you lost, they were better, no matter what they use.
That's how winning and losing works.

What planet do you live on? On Earth, free stuff, even simple cosmetics, require man-hours to create, resources to pay for man-hours, and so on. There isn't a Cosmetic Fairy that zaps them into existence. The difference between you and I is that I realize they are a business, and their business is selling us the game, DLC, and cosmetics. Every free thing they give us undercuts the same type of thing they could sell.
The problem is the montenization in this game is akin to that of a F2P. This isn't a F2P, however.
If it was, many of these complaints would be null and void.

Content is content, and there is nothing that says that it should only be unlockable in-game. Should we ban a DLC containing a variety of charms because you can't unlock it by playing the game? I wasn't even talking about Twitch Prime - just normal Twitch. Still, should we ban all content that isn't available in every region? These rules make no sense.
Again, asking for all the content to be available in a game you purchased with money shouldn't be a problem. I paid for the game, so I should have access to everything the game has to offer, aside from Licensed content for obvious reasons of contracts.
It's that simple really. This isn't a F2P, where I wouldn't complain about such nonsense.

Why though? That's entirely arbitrary. Games have been doing stuff like this forever. DBD has codes you have to find elsewhere for BPs, charms, etc. Borderlands had you check Twitter for codes that could be redeemed for spins of a rare gun box. Many games give you cosmetics for linking your Twitch account and things like that. Etc. It's just a small incentive to interact with the game in more ways, and it's not punishing in the slightest if you choose not to do it. If you could unlock a unique perk that made you run at 105% speed or something, sure, shout it from the rooftops; that actually makes a competitive difference. For small cosmetic rewards, who cares? If the cosmetics somehow mean a lot to you, you can still easily get them. If they don't mean a lot to you, then ignore them.
Just because other games do it doesn't mean anything.
Content is Content regardless of your personal viewpoint on it. Twitch Prime is also a bad example because not every country has access to Twitch Prime.
All you're doing is giving more reasons why this kind of stuff should be abolished.

Missing the point... it's a charm. If you don't want to watch the streamers, then don't. Your life and experience playing the game will not change in the slightest without that charm.
That's also not the point. The point is in-game content should be unlockable in-game.

It doesn't say charms anywhere in that, they've said since the beginning of the tome that some outfits will end up coming to the store.
No what I'm saying is a few months back this was a topic and apparently it was said that certain things like the final charm wouldn't come back.
I don't have a reference for that as it was probably 8 months ago but that's a thing I read from several people.

....im going to do my best to keep it logical and not just knee jerk emotional vomit.
1) I have always defended the rift. As i understand that it is a way to keep people playing. Giving players objectives keeps interest. However, i also acknowledge that the rift should not be 'work'. Too many people hit 70 and stop playing because they are burnt out or give up because at times the progress seems futile.
Rifts and challenges should compliment gameplay by making people want to play, not stop playing.
2) Events are rare and should be special. Most games do events as a thank you to the player base. Like, 'we know things could be better, we know theres bugs, we know we broke ps4, we hear all the criticism. We get it. We are working on it. In the meantime, thank you so much for continuing to support us, here's something in appreciation for keeping us employed.'
Events should never be happy event day, now pay for EVERYTHING! Last year you had 6 paid outfits and we could get 2 free. That was perfect. Whales are gonna whale. Hell, minnows will spend a little. But without the free players, YOUR GAME DIES!
3) I will still play. But as much as i love the legion skin, i will not be spending anymore. This 'event' is the first time i can't honestly justify things as a business strategy rather than a caah grab. I hate to say it like that but that is how i feel.
Take from this what you will. Ignore it if you want. It really seems though that you dont listen nor care about us for anything other than a payday. It hurts me to say that.
1. Having a paid Battle Pass in anything that isn't a F2P is honestly a scummy move. You can have people come back to the game without having them pay 10 dollars every few months, on top of paid skins.
2. Agree.
3. I just came back to the game after a 2 year hiatus and I'm greeted with the worst version of the Blight. Pretty sad tbh.

They're still going to release some, they said this just yesterday
Then they're going back on their previous word that certain things, like the Charms, will remain exclusive.
Not surprised though.
When are they giving back my Legacy is the real question.
-
@Levitika said:
They could just easily add them as Devotion rewards. Earn a level of Devotion, pick the Legacy cosmetic you want. You still need to put a ######### ton of hours and effort into the game to earn it, it's harder to get than just regular prestige, and it'd give incentive other than Shards.
They don't even need to do that. Literally the achievements should be good enough.
That said, I wouldn't care if they did this. But since I lost my Legacy I'm probably just biased towards them being Devotion rewards.
-
@Nicholas said:
So much mixed messaging here, I agree if they don't want to do any more exclusives why is this a thing? It wouldn't be so bad if it was a guarantee path to acquiring the charms, like how Overwatch requires you to watch streamers for a few hours but you're guaranteed the rewards. Or streamers give out Global codes with substantial redemptions, like a 100,000 per code. They must be really trying to get people to watch the streamers.
"No more exclusives"
Yet The Rift will still have cosmetics that will never come back to the store. I'm not sure why people take BHVR at face value.

Exploiting people being bad.
Nah 360s legit exploit the Survivor movement by making them turn faster than they should normally be able to, and it does some funky things with their hitbox as well.
I'm not saying it doesn't take at least a small amount of good timing and mechanical movement to do, but it is an exploit nonetheless.
-
I cross-played with a bunch of PS4 friends yesterday and they were super salty at the fact they couldn't 360 me because I play on PC.
Off topic I know but it's pretty hilarious tbh. 360s shouldn't even be a thing at this point, it's technically an exploit anyway.

Is this better than just giving them to all players? no. But is it that outragious? In my opinion no.
Not being able to earn the cosmetics like the years before is the thing that sucks to me.

You got so mad you broke forum rules and told him he was a baby and every thing. First he ran the guy for 2 gens against a team that was slugged. So this guy obviously was best out of his team and was better than the freddy. He got hit through a pallet which doesnt involve skill but bad wifi. And if this guy sucks at the game then the freddy and his team is even worse. By defending this killer you are insulting him. Either way if you get that mad and slug everyone because of ONE sabo it shows that you are petty or oversensitive and frankly that is detrimental to his points. Heck the OP said that he was worried for his health and regardless its annoying to be 4 man slugged I had a killer 4 man slug on a map with bad rng he only hooked for bbq so he can slug. Its a jerk move same as gen rushing. You have a point he shouldnt even complain because he did good regardless but dude just calm down before you get banned. I almost got banned for telling a dude to shut up after he personally attacked me. Just try and be calm please I dont want you to get in trouble on the forums, neither would I for anyone else.
I mean if he lost then no he wasn't better than the Freddy.

Get a better GPU or lower your screen resolution until you can run DBD smoothly. A decent gpu isnt that expensive anymore, there is a great used market and soon many cool new gpu's will come out, reducing the price of the GPU's on the used market even further.
Youre not screwed unless you have a console, which is NOT upgradeable.
Computers get better and faster over time and Im happy to upgrade my gpu soon and lower my resolution until then. The devs should support the best experience for everyone. Ontop of that this game is 18+, which indicates that the audience has jobs and can upgrade their PC's easily, unlike games for children like minecraft etc. So Im happy they take care of their target audience and give the game a fresh coat of paint.
Or they can just optimize the game.
DOOM Eternal runs like butter and is 1000x times more intensive than DbD. There's no excuse

I believe the Devs stick to the excuse of because they can't automatically restore legacy to everyone (because of poor data management), they won't restore legacy to... anyone!
However, Mathieu said in a developer stream (April 6th 2017) that he's "Not exactly sure of the timing, but we'll be using mostly the timestamps of the achievements; so when you got your achievements specifically" ... "we'll rejigger the prestige, reinitiate that on your account".
As said here:
https://youtu.be/SN87dguT8jQ?t=133
So it's perfectly possible for the devs to restore one set of legacy for a chosen character simply by checking steam prestige achievements.
Well, then they need to stop going back on their word and actually do it.

Oh well if you think its that much of a waste of time DC and go play something else. These guys are just having fun if you wanna "report" them for that then just get a life.

So, what about people who leave the game for a few months? Or people like me who don't want to be anywhere near Red ranks any more because of the sweat?
This is why there needs to be:
A. An overall metric of MMR that isn't the outdated rank system and
B. Some form of public matching without rankings where more chill style of play is welcomed.
Players shouldn't need to smurf or do nonsensical busy work to get into a certain ranking because they either roflstomp noobs or can't handle the big leagues.
-
With crossplay being a thing now, the "divided playerbase" nonsense is even more invalid than ever.

@Ryan489x said:

changing your mindset and abiding by certain rule stets are two different things. You're right that you can't expect the community to follow any rules. I've heard many people say "well the devs should fix the glitches so I can't use them" That person is still choosing to do something knowing it will annoy other players. A person can choose not to do that.
A glitch is not a valid form of play, though, and shouldn't be considered when talking about balance or "mindsets."
Also @PigMainClaudette people are free to play in whatever mindset or playstyle they see fit. Changing one's mindset would entail changing one's form of play, which would also mean adhering to certain "rules" whether that be not using meta perks or not using scummy strats that, in the end, are legitimate strats (anything that isn't a glitch is legit).
It's a developer's job to work the game around how their players end up playing, not to assume that everyone will adhere to certain "mindsets" to make the game more playable. Ultimately, your enjoyment is what matters most. If something is overwhelmingly unfun for a good portion of the community, it needs to be up to the developer to rectify that issue.
This goes for every video game.
-
@PigMainClaudette said:
Top level players always use the best options available to them. They essentially use all of about 5% of what the game has to offer.
Mid ranks have WAY more players and they're more likely to use a wider variety of perks and killers. Catering to a larger audience is always the better option too.
As for the weird builds, there are basically 3 types of people who hold Rank 1:
- The Tryhards: People who must win at all costs, and are likely to 4-man slug, tunnel, camp, gen-rush, infinite loop and all that fun stuff everyone complains about because "much win".
- Don't Care Anymore: These players have a simple mentality of "I reached Rank 1, I can now run whatever I want and not care." This is where you get more meme builds that don't make much sense without explanation.
- Content Creators: Streamers and Youtubers who play the game so much because they are making content that they naturally stay in the highest ranks.
None of these fit the "average" player at all. I'm more of an average player, and I CAN hold rank 3-5, but I've versed so many tryhard sweatlords that I'm actively dripping my rank now to get away from them.
Maybe it isn't the devs who need to change the game, but the community that needs to change it's mindset.
You can't expect the community to abide by a certain set of rules just because the devs won't balance their game properly.
This is a game development issue 100%
