So nothing happens if you look at him in a chase? Because I hear and see something once I look at him.

You can break him out of Shroud in a chase.

It doesn't cancel the Exposed status if it already procced on you though.

  • Run Stake Out then

  • Solo is definitely no where near as hard as Killer.

This is coming from a guy that has strictly played solo the last 3 years.

  • @LordGlint said:

Would it be considered "abusing" a bug if I wanted to make a build with this perk anyway?

    It isn't a bug mate

  • No, if you get exposed, you stay exposed until the status wears off on its own.

  • Is it intended for the Furtive Chase perk to constantly change obsession to the rescuer of the hooked survivor, even if the hooked survivor is not the obsession?

Read the perk description dude. Lol

On the contrary. By staying alive and keeping the camping killer occupied, you help out your team greatly.

No. You shouldn't be given points for being hooked.

Somebody obviously wasn't in the experiment...... everyone was reset to rank 20 with a player save file from 2017.

They have files from that far back?

Can that give me one with my Legacy on it lmao

Fair? Maybe. Fun? No. Not at all.

Stuff like this makes the game worse.

I'm a Survivor who doesn't use DS, doesn't abuse infinites, doesn't use insta-heals and isn't toxic to the Killer. Do you think it's fun to play like that against a douche Killer that camps and tunnels you? No, it's not, and I don't want to play with DS / Insta-heals just so I can have more chances. I don't want to play like that because I consider it scummy and unfun. The only time I would consider going SoloQ is only with DS and a purple insta-heal in my hand because of Killers like that.

The same could be applied to Killers. Killers who don't tunnel or camp are met with Survivors that are incredibly toxic. And those Killers don't want to tunnel or camp because they find it scummy and unfun aswell. But in the end, they are forced to.

Sorry bud but I don't use DS or instaheals either and I have 0 issues with camping or tunneling.

You said it's possible to mori spam a survivor for 4 minutes and considering how toxic players like to act that can easily happen.

The same can happen without a Mori. All the Killer needs to do is just stand over and camp the downed guy

Mori spamming isn't possible without slugging, so I just grouped the two together. I go AFK in either case.

Before mori spamming paused the timer which is why I categorized it as hostage.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/555360#Comment_555360

Why do you think such a thing is not bannable? When I get slugged with no hope of escape, I just go AFK.

    Slugging isn't the problem.

The problem was that Mori spamming made it near infinite and forced a DC. If this is no longer the case, then mori spamming is just a worse slugging.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/555350#Comment_555350

You can't mori spam for longer than 4 minutes. Before, the bleed-out timer didn't progress, but now it does.

I didn't know this. If this is true, then the Killer is just wasting his own time in that case.

Have you... not played Huntress on console?

To argue that you "just have bad aim" when it's extremely difficult to aim on console... you have to be playing with potato Survivors.

I admitted she was better? WHEN? I don't see me praising her at all, just pointing out her weaknesses.

Billy's saw catches people out in the open and still gives him mobility to patrol gens. His saw can break pallets faster and can be used for mindgames at pallets. His saw can STILL be used to catch people during loops if Billy reads them right.

Huntress gets destroyed by buildings and indoor maps and if she isn't on Autohaven or a map with loops that don't have walls, she can be mind-gamed and beaten.

Huntress is high mid-tier on PC, bad on console. It's that simple.

"Hag is one of the best Killers in the game" Oh my GOD, you cannot be serious. Does Hag beat Nurse and Billy too? 🤣

Who are these "top-tier players"? Show me them. Right now.

And no, you're not. You're rank 1 because you use NOED, you tunnel, or you use Ruin or cheese builds. It's that simple.

    Or you're just a liar. :)

Turn your sensitivity up then? I don't have issues playing Huntress on console. Sounds like you're blaming the game for your lack of skill.

Lol Billy doesn't catch people out in the open with his saw if they pay attention. You aren't guaranteed to hit someone at farther than mid range.

Billy gets destroyed at loops homie. Sorry. But he does. And if the Survivor times it right, you can stun Billy mid charge and punish him for choosing to chainsaw. There is nothing to "read."

Billy also gets destroyed on indoor maps lol

I would recommend watching Tru3Talent. He's pretty much gotten to Rank 1 with all Killers and he shows Hag is pretty good. Most long time forum players will tell you she is pretty good.

Also didn't Hag get like, one of the highest kill counts at high ranks during one statistic viewing? Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Lmao check my steam account then. I have Rank 1 killer. Even if I did choose to use NOED, tunnel, or cheese builds, that's completely within the confines of the game as long as gen rush, instaheals, and looping exist. Just fyi, I do nor chose to use NOED nor do I tunnel if I find someone else first, and I stream all of my matches so I have nothing to lie about lol

Also I mostly play Survivor, so I know how easily Billy can be outplayed if you know what to do correctly.

Hilarious how you ad hominem someone when they disagree with you by questioning their skills.

I've learned to not take forum users like you seriously. You guys tend to get pretty irate at some point. I just let nature take its course at that point.

How would you prevent that the SWFs just stop using the group lobby and start queuing up like before SWFs to get no penalties?

I certainly understand why you would like such a thing, but unfortunately those things can be circumvented and just increases lobby-dodgers.

    Easily.

Make it so Survivors can't see each other in the lobby or talk to each other. You can't even see what items others are using.

This would instantly rectify this issue.

Are you like 12 years old?

@Warlock_2020 Then we are in agreement. If you don't want to be the camped survivor you just have to be sneakier or loop better than the other survivors. That way your chances of escaping will increase

I will agree with you about camping.

But I will NOT agree about Mori spamming. Why do you seem to be ignoring the people that are tackling you about this?

  • @Killmaster said:

No way to obtain it anymore so why not? 500 people can earn it plus as a loyalty reward for people who partake in future test, if you want it again earn it by helping the developers.

Because the devs had said in the past they will NEVER bring Legacy back, so you can kill those false hopes you got.

If you got it for randomly being selected for a test, and I haven't had my Legacy restored despite grinding over 500 hours for this game when Bloodwebs were garbage, I would flip #########. Earn it again? How? It's randomly selected. I already ######### earned it 3 years ago.

Loyalty? Im still here after 3 years. Why should you get Legacy for a TEST

You don't deserve Legacy for being selected for a test.

  • @se05239 said:

I think they should turn it back to how it was before, when you could mori a survivor right as you downed them.

    Good lord please no

  • Considering 500 people were randomly selected for this, if they give exclusives, it'll honestly just be really stupid.

You guys should just get cells. Why would you even think you would get Legacy, especially when someone like me hasn't even had their Legacy restored after data loss?

This would piss literally everyone off.

@DarkGGhost I disagree with that part. Face camp and mori spam are also fair and countereable (the rest of the sirvivors should do generators)

Dude ######### mori spam. That's tantamount to holding the game hostage.

I'm sorry, but the intended bleedout timer is made nearly 4x longer by Mori spam. It has no effective purpose unlike camping and slugging.

    Mori spam IS toxic.

  • @miaasma said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/554373#Comment_554373

huntress's problem is that she's too map dependent, and the maps currently being released are 1. enormous and 2. full of junk and tiles that she struggles to throw over

this means she can't typically go for long shots, and more importantly that she can't spread map pressure well against people who are focused on objectives

she's also loop dependent; yeah she can throw over some loops, but other loops she pretty much just has to run through, and throwing down pallets early is very frustrating for a huntress player

billy is also map dependent, just less so, and even on newer maps he can spread pressure just by being able to get around the map quickly

Billy has pretty difficult times on a few maps, but his chainsaw can be outplayed at close range with body hugs and 360s, part of the reason they got rid of his ability to 360 himself. Sure it's a gamble, but there is a way around it.

Not to mention he struggles more than Huntress at loops, since his chainsaw really doesn't help against Survivors continue the loop without throwing the pallet. Only down narrow corridors are Survivors really forced to throw it, and even then, it's pretty much a free stun every time.

Imo, pressure isn't really worth it if you can't kill anything due to RNG pallet placements and windows not working in your favor.

I'll also note that the Depip squad tied with a Huntress player, but I'm not sure their results against Billy players. Of course the Huntress was a big name streamer, but we all know it takes the best Killers in the game to even stand a chance against optimal Survivor play.

  • Ignore what people say and play how you want. Just don't be a douche in the post game chat.

  • @miaasma said:

anything you can do in this game short of exploiting unintended mechanics or otherwise cheating is "fair", but whether or not something is a fun and/or effective strategy is up for debate

Everything that isn't an exploit is fair. Yes, even Prayer Beads my guy.

It shouldn't be up to the players to handicap their games just because the devs don't know how to properly balance the game.

All the stupid OP stuff at this point is fair game from both sides. Until we get the reasoning behind the Vanilla Test, everyone should continue to break the game as much as possible without exploits or glitches.

It's the only way they'll take things seriously. Everyone should reveal their true final forms.

  • You know it's a bad bait when OP has gone AWOL

Same can be said about your opinion also based on your anecdotal evidence. DBS is a game where sound plays very important role for both sides and the way it is now is a major buff for killers, because all sounds currently in the game are busted. So please spare me your excuses and stop spewing bullshit for once.

Also you as a survivor main maybe do not realize how much easier the game is now for killers ith all the sound busted. Oh well, can't blame you for your ignorance.

Except they aren't busted. They're working properly now, you just are used to having the game be unnecessarily difficult as a Killer.

The fact that you can hear them is proof enough you were always supposed to in the first place. Having those cues drowned out by music makes absolutely no sense at all from a balance perspective. Plus, you seem to fail to understand that this lowered music works both ways, as Survivors can hear Killer's breathing easier now as well.

But you ignore any point that doesn't support your biased notions.

By your logic, since I am a Survivor main and since Killers are better at hearing sounds now, then I should be having a worse time, right? Except I'm not. I'm not having any more difficulty than I was before Surviving. But hey, can't blame you for having no logic. I'm used to it.

Survivors haven't adapted yet. You should probably wait more than a month before screaming to fix changes.

You also seem to be ignoring the SLIDER suggestion. Why do you come in discussion, and spout facetious stuff without considering everything someone said?

    Man I swear.

  • @SmokePotion said:

I also agree. There's a small bug where some people aren't getting the chase music at all.,And that's causing frustration at lower skill levels. (you SHOULD be looking around yourself anyways ppl. But it IS a bug so i can't grind on them to hard) But i've been saying this for a while. it's funny how when I said it,I got hate. But now that it's been accidentally added into the game for a bit, people ar elike "oh this is awesome"

I don't think the music should be 100% quiet, but it shouldn't overpower the audio from either side.

Saying the game should be balanced around music audio levels is absolutely silly in my opinion. It's music.

This hasn't been an issue an any game I play. Even Overwatch doesn't have super overpowering music in Overtime modes, and you can just turn it off if you want.

    Balancing around music is stupid.

This bug should be fixed though. But the audio levels shouldn't be raised.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/72663/the-new-audio-is-preferable-for-both-sides

Preferable for both sides? And from where did you get this info may I ask? Some sort of survey has been done and community voiced their opinions on the matter? If so I am not aware of it.

Also the current audio is beyond busted currently. Survivors are way too loud which negates the use of Stridor completly. With my Razer headphones I can hear invisible Claudette breathing in the bushes 5m ahead of me and I can tell the direction as well. Flashlights are basicly pointless as well as you can easily follow the sound survivors make. I am all for reworking killers to make them better but this is just too much. The game sounds as they are now are terrible, the game feels awkward to play because of it. Your suggestion is like saying: "Oh keep the Wake Up bug, because it mitigates lag hits while vaulting". No, just no. Bugs have to be fixed not ecouraged to stay.

Wut? I was just saying it's preferable as in it's better for both sides in my opinion. The #########, a survey? Lol ok dude

That's your opinion based on your anecdotal evidence. I haven't had any issues getting away from Killers as a Survivor, and I don't even need Iron Will to do it. The music never should have overpowered the Survivor footsteps or breathing in the first place. It isn't even remotely in the same category as the Wake Up bug, but I know you.

You tend to blow stuff out if proportion. The audio honestly is fine.

And my suggestion was to add a slider. What, you don't like an audio slider? You don't like options? Lol ok dude. Try harder next time and pay attention to what my actual suggestion is.

Yea you're right, I mostly see them first because I keep tabs and also map postioning you can tell where they are generally coming from

Hey now you're gettin it 😉

  • If we are talking about the best of the best Survivors, not even Nurse is viable at Rank 1.

Depip squad proved that a year ago.

  • Nah. There are already Killer perks and addons that cause Survivors to get more skillchecks.

They always help the Survivor. Skill checks aren't difficult enough to make throwing a bunch of them a threat.

The only way this suggestion would be fine, is if the was only the Great bar, it was tiny as hell, and had a chance to give 3'o clock Skillchecks.

  • Best example is Myers music. You know what it sounds like. But once you are in a chase, that's the only time you hear the iconic "TING TING TING TING TING TING" noise.

  • @FishFry247 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/554377#Comment_554377

Didn't know that, I've only been playing for about a year so I'm going to trust you on that, I just really enjoy the new audio

There is a point where when the Killer gets close enough and when HE looks at you, it will initiate a chase. You can tell when you are in a chase because the music changes from being creepy and nerve wracking, to excited and filled with energy. When you hear the music drastically change, it means the Killer has found you and is pursuing you.

I would recommend wearing a decent pair of headphones.

  • Exactly. Stake Out directly counters Ruin.

When you get a Good Skill Check with a Stake Out token, it counts as a Great, so it nullifies Ruin as long as you have tokens

People sleep on any perks that aren't their coveted DS SC BT nonsense.

I know when I look at a killer the in chase music starts getting much louder even out of chase you look at them and the music gets louder

This sounds like a placebo. The music always changes when you are actually in a chase, regardless if you look at the Killer or not.

The only time the music gets louder is when he gets closer. I've been playing this game for 3 years. The new audio is wonderful.

If the audio was directional, then perks like Spine Chill and Premonition wouldn't have a purpose.

Except some people make it a point to follow behind Trapper just to disarm all of his traps. I do this quite often, because he's useless with no traps.

Huntress is not better than Billy by a LONG shot (pun) on anything other than PC, and Billy possesses superior mobility. Huntress is slow and does not have map-wide gen pressure.

Hag can be completely destroyed by either paying attention or Urban. You are either extremely new, a rank 20, or a Survivor main if you think Hag or Huntress is ANYWHERE near Billy or Nurse.

Lmao yeah ok buddy. Saying Huntress isn't good on console is literally just because you have bad aim. I get it's easier to aim on PC, but dont fool yourself dude. And besides, you literally admitted she's better, whether it be on PC or not. So you really shouldnt have even made this point.

Huntress can end chases long before Billy ever can. He might have pressure, but he still gets looped. The chainsaw is borderline useless while being looped.

And Hag is widely considered one of the best Killers in the game by plenty of top tier Killer players.

Im definitely not new mate. I've been a Rank 1 players since the game came out. Don't project your own skills onto me.

We've gone over it in the past, but it's mostly a matter of simplifying it for new players. Having a wall of numbers on each item and add-on can be overwhelming, while saying 'slightly' and 'moderately' is a lot simpler. There are also cases like the mist offerings where the things they modify don't make sense as numbers. If they said "makes the mist 50% thicker", that wouldn't really be helpful. On top of that, real numbers can be misleading with the way math works in video games; take a look at old Enduring for example.

One of the suggestions I've heard before that I think would be interesting is having a simple and advanced mode for descriptions. By pressing a button, all of the "slightly" and "moderately" parts of the descriptions are switched for actual numbers. This way it's simple for new or casual players but the numbers are easily accessible for more experienced players.

It's good feedback, though, I'll bring the feedback up with the team.

How is making arbitrary and unclear descriptions supposed to make things easier for new players?

How is something like "slightly decreases" less vague than saying something like "decreases by 2 seconds"

    Lol

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 38
