I think if the base game is free, the player base would at least triple in size.

The base game also doesn't offer much. You have a few basic survivors and killers, without access to the fun perks and play-styles. If casual new players start getting into the game, they WILL want to spend more money to access the rest of the content. The problem is most people never get to that point

As it stands, the pricing is pure robbery. The game is not new-player friendly enough

Weird how it costs like money to run servers, provide updates, employ developers and such.

I just don't like get it... Where am I? Make it free!

    "Are you saying"

    "Are you saying"

    "Are you saying"

Did I say that? Did I type those words? Please re-read it again. Slowly this time.

Different words can form the same thought.

How is a Mori "abusing" a game mechanic? What is the intended mori use?

God I had no idea... I've been hacking and exploiting mori's to kill survivors. I might get banned😱

Are they supposed to make the killer stand in the corner for 300 sec at the start? I bet that's how a Mori is intended to be used.

  • I know... My bad. With all the mori's (shrouds) you'll never see an end game (or match start) anyway lol

As long as I see a huge disparity between killer and survivor, I'll continue to ask for killer nerfs and survivor buffs.

So as long as you remain blind and capable of entitled mental gymnastics to twist reality in order to never learn from your mistakes you'll call for nerfs to c tier killers...

Am I being punked? No way you're really that bad at the game.

Have you considered taking your own medicine instead of asking the devs to give you ez kills? I know, the pills are too big for you to swallow.

You're the only person on this KILLER rework thread already complaining about a POSSIBLE buff to the weakest killer in the game 😂.

I know this is a meme but my god if it ever applied to anybody... It'd b @Sluzzy

  • I've seen threads like this and will relay what I've learned (i think).

    UI size definitely needs addressed.

The cross play is more complex. The ps5 is above par with standard gaming PC's. While that seems insignificant to you because pc still has the mouse and keyboard, it's very relevant to a lot of ps4 players. Because you have a crisper clarity and much better frame rate it would give you an obvious advantage against ps4s current optimization.

I know most games don't employ this but in a game of literally pixel by pixel, moment to moment awareness it would be horribly lopsided in your favor.

I agree that it does suck as you are forced to play against pc players that play entirely differently or wait an insane amount of time for a lobby to fill.

My guess is after Christmas the lobby times go down significantly.

Its honestly pretty simple. Survivor make huge mistakes and then they have no chance. Most survivor at red rank do not know how to loop. I can only speak for console, but nobody needs to play only pc without crossplay. I heard without crossplay its harder.

I'm ps4 btw. So... You need no help from slowdown perks because Survivors make huge mistakes🤨.

I'll have to try that "strategy" out... I mean you said it's easy (even though talking is just talking) right?

  • @Zayn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1777286#Comment_1777286

Don't tell me how to play. I'm usually the last person who gets downed by him, it's not about me "losing chases" and more of the fact that he's unfun to go against. You think I don't already go from LOS blocker to LOS blocker? It isn't that easy because there's other factors involved such as his pretending to shoot and then not shooting at all which costs the survivor A LOT of distance allowing him to get a free point blank shot or the M1, your "counter" also varies from map to map. You can't always reliably go to and LOS blocker on, let's say, the middle of Autohaven maps or maps like Midwich where the Hallways are free shots for a Slinger and even the rooms as well with short loops he can shoot over.

You people who support killers like this think you know the be all and end all solutions when it's obvious you disregard everything that takes place in between them. There's a reason even streamers who play this game as a JOB dislike Slinger. I bet you think Freddy chasing a survivor around a loop spamming snares is also interactive gameplay as well. Yes, you can abandon the loop and go somewhere else but a lot of the time, that's simply not possible. You probably also think Spirit standing still is a "Mindgame" when you're cornered into a loop at the edge of the map so before you come in trying to give someone who's been playing DBD at the highest level of play for a very long time, look in between the lines before giving your two cents k.

    "You're welcome"

His power is stomping YOUR ass in a 1v1. Thats his only strength.

I'm not telling you how to play... I'm telling you how to avoid getting tilted enough to demand a nerf on an average killer. You can't "usually be the last one down" because DS doesn't usually 4k.

My guess is in your 3 years of playing you've become accustomed to surviving by looping and 1v1 chase tactics. So rather than listen to any viable info. You'll just say "don't tell me how" and "he's no fun to go against" and try to cry til every killer follows your skill set rather than to adapt and LEARN from mistakes.

If I'm not to tell you how to do better, where do you get off telling the COMMUNITY to nerf a killer only people like you can't win against?

And enough of the spirit comparison 😂🤣🤣.

One kills you... The other kills anybody

  • This isn't about him needing a change... It's about you losing chases 1v1.

He gets fewer overall kills per match than most killers.

So next time he kills you try:

    A) Going into spectator mode.

    2) Watch how the other survivors survive (because statistically 2 to 3 will survive most matches).

    ∆) Apply what you learn.

Hint: it'll be avoiding 1v1 baiting him and learning how to run from line of sight blocker to line of sight blocker.

If none of that works (because you didn't try it), come back and start a new thread instead of changing your tactics k.

    You're welcome

  • Complaining about mori's lol.

Runs DS, UB, Adrenaline... And swaps to character with a key with 7 seconds left in the lobby.

I'll stop bringing mori's when you stop bringing 1 to 3 friends with comms.

P.s. I regularly bring a shroud of secrecy or a cypress mori just to see if I can add time to entitled survivors match making lock timer😈😂

Different methods? Otz tutorials are the basics which you should know. It has nothing to do with your playstile. Your own playstyle comes after that with experience.

I dont say you should watch Otz and copy his playstyle.

    Different mindsets.

Just wish some of those that "have little trouble getting 4k, even with little to no slowdown perks" would show someone how they do it... So far most who claim these talents are very bashful about showing it but very open as far as discussing their talents here.

Why a tutorial? Otz has many tutorials. You can get the same results with them like me when you want to get better.

Many different methods. While I love Otz vids I can't play his style. I like learning from multiple sources.

This is true. It is always the excuse of survivors are potatoes. Every time.

Somehow in DBD, survivors are all potatoes and killers are all skilled masters in their role and one single loss is a result of survivors being OP and never because of their own mistake. The fact of the matter is, they all need to be in their 4 man SWF genrushing to possibly win.

Funny most complaints of potatoes come from survivors complaining about their team mates.

Fact is solo survivor is at a disadvantage but a well versed swf will outplay a killer 9 out of 10 games. And still send hate if you manage to kill 1 of them. You say killers expect 4k. But hardcore swf are WAY more triggered by losing 1 person than most killers get about only getting 1 kill

We can already redirect you to killer streamers that play without being boring ass slowdown abusers and you won't go watch them. If we showed you videos you'd probably just be like "but these survivors did this this and this wrong", while when you killers play like garbage fail to see your own mistakes and blame it on "gen rush" and "survivors op"

The "killer streamers" aren't the ones making the claims here.

When they run they're mouths like the entitled Survivors here I'll refer to their videos.

Well i run no addons and only one slowdown. Most of the time i dont even use Pop because im downing them to fast and have no time to kick a gen. I could probably win against the most survivors without perks. Perks and Addons are nice but the biggest factor whether you win is obviously the survivors.

No gen regression perk is similar strong like a survivor who doesnt do gens to begin with.

No perk or killer power helps you more in chase then a survivor, who dont know how to loop.

You're not properly pressuring the generators then. Just chasing someone without any regard with what the other three survivors are doing (i.e letting them do what they want) is just asking to lose.

No I'm just using basic arithmetic based on 1 person hooking 12 times before 4 people complete 5 gens. If you start talking about pressure, the most effective way is to tunnel still:

If someone is hooked 1st time, 1 person is not doing gens while 3 can safely for 25 seconds before someone coming for the save. However, if I get someone on 2nd hook fast, they were already injured and it immediately puts pressure across map as usually 2 more people try to coordinate a save... Leaving only 1 to do gens.

See how the tactically smart thing is to tunnel 1 early regardless?

That being said I rarely tunnel due to not wanting to be an ass.

    No?

Unless you're against sweaty survivors, which is not even a common thing that people on this forum tend to argue, you're perfectly capable of getting a 2-4K by hooking everybody and not resorting to tunnelling.

You're just bad at the killer role if the only way you can win is by tunnelling.

No. Even without sweaty Survivors gen speed is too fast to rotate through 12 hooks without tunnelling.

If what you're saying is true that means that a killer should be able to find someone, start and end the chase within 40 seconds consistently. Even at that pace you'd only have 1 kill with no gens remaining.

    Do math

I understand your frustration with them believe me, they really do need to improve on their balancing and understanding of their own game. If they're not capable themselves they could at least listen to the parts of the community they should be who understand the game better (granted that's not the majority) or hire/ask people who do.

I do worry they will use the data from the test and draw the wrong conclusion but for now we just have to wait and see.

I've honestly just tunnelled, camped and brought moris every match since it started.

If they're only considering effects for newer Survivors (their money bags) then the data will show they hated it from the info I supplied lol.

Deathslinger can find a field of view to shoot on ANY loop. Hag can also trap it mid chase with no problem.

If you think finding a shot with deathslinger on any loop is a better option than chasing YOU ARE JUST WRONG.

Post gameplay of using the Deathslinger effectively without being looped ridiculously without bloodlust.

Why are you looping as Hag? Use your power. If you can’t use your ability properly and need bloodlust as Hag then you’re severely misplaying her and need more practice.

I'm far from a Hag main. I'm testing the no bloodlust on 110 killers. That said I am versed as killer in general and can say 100% that level design has not been fixed enough to not need this mechanic.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

If you're getting looped as Deathslinger or Hag you're playing them wrong. These killers don't get looped.

Not all loops are short enough to shoot over and stopping to place traps mid chase is not advisable either. Sometimes every killer needs to chase... Except Nurse, which I'm not good enough with her to comment.

  • @MrPenguin said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1764849#Comment_1764849

Yeah I 100% agree, the game is not in a state where bloodlust can be removed. I thought that before the test and the test is only enforcing it so far. Maybe that'll change but its not looking likely.

There's a pretty vocal group of people that are just like "OnLy BaD kIlLeRs gEt BloOdlUst" and completely ignoring the issue of map and loop design not being where it needs to be at all to remove it.

I've played as every 110 killer and yeah it's a joke. Even not so safe loops can be exploited for 2 gens against hag and deathslinger now. ######### are these devs doing? Hire I decent team that can evaluate balance... Fire whoever decides the direction of the fixes and balance... And maybe real problems would be addressed. For ######### sake their lead developer didn't understand why OoO was an issue because of survive+pick rates.

Hey BHVR try playing your game more than just casually. Maybe it'll be more productive than these "tests" where you'll pool data without understanding it.

  • @Rivyn said:

Here's a tip. Don't use streamers as a measuring stick. They are the exception, not the norm. Just like 4 man tac squads aren't the norm for SWF, just the exceptions.

While I agree that bloodlust isn't a regular occurrence, it comes in handy for the slower killers. Huntress, for instance. Especially on difficult maps like Haddonfield.

This isn't supposed to be 'decent killer vs potato survivors.' There are a lot of cases where bloodlust is a good thing against good loopers, especially on maps like Ormond where it's simply one safe loop after another. The fact that there are methods to break it, and survivors STILL complain about it as if it's a constant, boggles me. It's like NOED. Method to disable it, still not enough.

So is Scott from his most recent video. Not that streamers are the end all be all, but they are very loud in the sense their opinions influence a lot of people. I wouln't even really use them as a measuring stick, most peoples lives are not the game.

From what I'm seeing and hearing a lot of infinites or close enough have popped up. Even shack with a hook on the corner is apparently an infinite now.

That's because in order to not need bloodlust you'd have to assume the level design has actually been fixed and not just improved. This team is better at band-aids than balancing so... Leave the band-aid on.

    2) See above.

    3) I know Pig isn't strong. Not the point I'm trying to make.

I actually agree. I'm console so no ptb experience but plenty of killers are better with their m1 than trying to use their power. Plus her speed is 115... So when victor is gone for 45 secs the team can only be 75% effective on gens AND you get control of your 115 killer while this is happening. Plus if the accost him for longer you get a beacon to an insta down

And if you can't answer a basic question as "What perks are you running already" you don't deserve an answer. Either

    • You think you have come up with some super secret combination that nobody can possibly think of and don't want it getting out.
    • You are too stubborn to give us a little more information that might help us answer your question better.
    • You are an idiot.
    • You are a troll.

My guess is the last one.

I think the question is meant to be subjective.

Because Wraith is such a weak killer without perk/add-ons. By asking for a single perk and not a perk pertaining to a specific build, it makes us really think.

  • The only stand alone perks I can think of for wraith that don't need to be paired with anything are:

Franklin's - actively disarm people on your drive by whackings.

Rancor - Allows you to avoid hooking 1 person entirely as long as they're located when last gen finishes.

(Rancor paired with StBfL would be incredibly useful on wraith... But I know you didn't want perk pairs. Just a thought)

  • Curious, can someone post a link to this? I can't navigate this site for anything.

  • @tj0108 said:

and before you just comment “do bones” listen here.

bones are situational, if you see a totem then cleanse it but in a fast past game (especially in red ranks) you simply don’t have time to run around like a headless chicken confirming that all 5 totems have been cleansed.

Its not a perk that assists bad killers, it’s a perk that completely carries them and rewards them for being bad *cough cough just like bloodlust cough cough*

Recently, i had a game where i ran a legion for 5 gens and got downed to noed and facecamped. my teammates were running around looking for it and only found it AFTER i had died on first hook.

Its not like it assists killers who made a few mistakes, no. You could be the worse killer in existence, mess up at every opportunity, not look after gens not know how to loop and still get a 4k because of a stupidly designed perk.

The perk is old, badly designed, way to powerful, rewards killers for being bad, punishes survivors for being good and is overall a bad perk. Noed needs to be looked into, i’m sick of being punished for playing good. It’s actually sad that people in red ranks still run it.

This is EXACTLY why NOED exists. Because of "high paced" matches... This is what killers generally refer to as gen rushing. If you are actively ignoring totems, you are gen rushing and not completing ALL objectives in order to win fast.

NOED is necessary for this reason. It forces sweaty teams to slow down or suffer in the endgame.

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

The only problem I have is having to lift them to a certain area. With the time it takes to go through the mori, majority of the time it wouldn't be worthwhile for the killer.

    Otherwise sounds good.

But that's part of the idea. As a killer you'd get more points for the mori kill so you'd have to decide if you think you can spare the time. If time is not on your side you can still place them on death hook instead.

It adds more choice and a risk/reward variation to consider.

  • Luzi,

Can this be moved temporarily back to general discussions? I originally made this post to get feedback about the idea from the general player base. It's not really getting the traffic from the players here.

Eventually I would like it moved here to suggestions. But I would like it peer reviewed by seasoned players first.

  • @Tactless_Ninja said:

Kinda takes the flexibility outta Mori's. Then there's still killers and perks that let you mori too.

Is Mikey gonna have to wrangle survivors into killzones before he KO's them?

Is Devour Hope now going to not only require you to get 5 tokens before your totem explodes, but require you to position them in the killzone as well?

Obviously Myers tombstone kills wouldn't apply. As far as devour hope I'd make the mechanics apply but change it so if a survivor is downed at 5 tokens they could be taken to the designated spot and mori'd even if the totem was taken out.

But honestly these seem like very situational complaints. Devour hope lasting beyond 3 tokens is so rare the perk is hardly ever used.

The system will get a change... They've already stated that. I'm trying to find a rework option in which they're not just removed. Hooks and no other options would be really bland.

  • @RepliCant said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/207226/hear-me-out-mori-basekit

This is cool! Would it be like the basement where there's a room/specific design for said mechanic, or would it be like a 'zone'?

I didn't want to go too specific. Leave it more of a conceptual draft so if the devs decide to try it they're not confined to anything that would make it implausible.

But my thought is multiple areas on the map that are fewer than hooks and only show the killer where they are when they pick up a survivor that would be on death hook. That would remove the confusion of trying to remember who had been hook how many times.

  • @Fishydevili22 said:

I totally agree! Looping is an outdated mindset for those, both killer and survivor, who refuse to adapt. Extraordinarily designed killers such as Rin, Caleb, and even our lovely Lisa can counteract that, but more needs to be done. There needs to be a shift to a more stealthy way of playing DBD; the way the devs originally intended. We need more survivors urbaning, lightweighting, quick and quieting and iron willing!

    I literally can't loop as survivor worth💩.

I am a killer main at devotion 6. I bet I have less than 30hrs as survivor but I consistently survive using urban evasion and spine chill to duck out before the killer gets line of sight.

  • I become demi-god like when my match loads in. I see any hint of movement at any distance (on rotten fields!). I will hear a blendette across the map crouching on mother's dwelling. Mind gaming loops becomes seemingly autonomous. I HAVE to throttle down or else everybody dc's before I can carry them to a hook. Oh and if I'm Huntress I can hit survivors in the next match before it starts💀.

Oh, you mean in reality. Survivors follow me around and startle me by dropping pallets on/behind me, and I still can't find them.😃

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Almost every single time I watch the last survivor in the game and the killer does this, they either A) pull them off the gate, B) down them right before it opens or C) down them right after it opens. The killer then hooks or moris the survivor. Sometimes they go so far as to let them crawl until just before they can escape before hooking or killing them.

Yes there are occasions when the killer is genuinely being friendly but they're so rare that I gave up long ago. I don't struggle, recover, try to open the gate, or move. I'm not giving anyone the satisfaction of pulling one over on me and the potential reward is 5k bloodpoints.. I'll pass.

If they drop me ON TOP OF the hatch of course I'll take it. No way I'm crawling to it though 😅

Keep your blood points, Entity, you're not getting an ounce of hope from me!

That is a dick move... I'm a killer main and 100% of the time I carry a Survivor to the gate or hatch I let them escape. If someone has played toxic and pissed me off, I just hook them... No nonsense.

  • The original problem was that tier 1 was better than tier 3 because it notified you more frequently. So instead of just reversing the order of the "loud noise alert" frequency per perk tier, the entirely nerfed it. But now if you have tier 3 it covers the whole map again.

So there wasn't ever any problems with it, the design of the perk was just backwards per tier.

  • Agreed. Use with Blood Warden to really punish the tbaggers camping the exit.

I've literally had the worst match ever turn to a 4k because of this build and the Survivors tbagging the at the exit.

First of all, this is just my opinion.

Nurse is bad for dbd. Yes she is the hardest killer to learn and blablabla. But it's still not fair to have a killer, that when you trained enough to have a instant easy win mode.

This is hilarious. Nobody has the time to become a good nurse. The few tournament level spent thousands of hours with her... And they don't win every time.

I had 2 people in my last match (which was ironically as nurse for the first time in probably a month). Killed themselves on first hook. Then I got a dm saying it's nothing personal just a nurse thing.

What's hilarious is I'm a HORRIBLE nurse they would've easily beaten me.

Also what is this "instant win ability" ? She has a rare add-on that's sole purpose is making people scream when you blink through them... Her iridescent add-ons nerf her. So what are you actually talking about?

Edit: one other thing. If she blinks, swings and has a pallet dropped on her, she goes through the pallet stun then the blink/swing fatigue. That is almost 2 DS worth of stun for timing a pallet drop right!!!

He’s not quitting, he’s ranting. If you really dislike playing a game, you just quit playing it...you don’t announce it to strangers.

Hopefully when you cool-off things work out better for you. People are jusy trying to get in your head for a psychological advantage and you’re letting them. GL mate.

Especially JOIN a forum to tell people you're quitting.

If someone with several hundred posts that has obviously been a part of the forums were to say this, I'd advise them to take a break or block messages etc. In my opinion if someone JOINS the forum to announce they're leaving the game, that is most likely rant/venting and they probably won't leave. But in all honesty sometimes people need to vent.

P.s. to OP: that is not meant to be toxic or hurtful in any way. Just what I have seen in the past. If you do play amicably I certainly hope you stick around. This game benefits from every thoughtful player. My advice would be to shut off chat or messages (depending on platform). And just keep playing knowing that the game as a whole benefits from the way you play.

I tried using Dragon's Grip on it but it's such a hard perk to get value of

It really is. I expected so much more from it. But for some god awful reason people constantly gen tap the clown. As soon as I'm out of sight and undetectable from trail of torment, somebody taps it lol. I've gotten nearly every ounce of value from it on clown only 🤨
