  • Charms sometimes come back with "dev choice bundle"… but it always contains 2 skins and cost around 2k auric cells.

You're better of without waiting for them.

Badge and banners are not purchasable for now.

  • I face much more hillbillies slugging.

Kaneki didn't have much success with slugging against me lately.

But it is boring and unengaging experience and I wish something was toned down with this "tactic".

What perks and add-ons should I use on pig then? Any chase perks i use dont get a whole ton of value especially when someone uses a gen rushing build. I've experimented with perks and builds but nothing seems to work longer than 2 games

    Well, what I run is:

    1. Pain Resonance
    2. Turn back the clock
    3. Bamboozle or brutal
    4. Corrupt/Lethal/Surge - this depends if I feel like I might need additional regression

I go for no kicking the gens - every gen regression I use come from kicking

    You can also use

    1. Pop goes the weasle
    2. Pain Res
    3. Bamboozle
    4. Eruption/Corrupt

That's also a strong build. I have good winrate with those. For both builds use green ambush addons - I dont remember the names.

You can also make a scream build - sometimes you get some trap kills with it.

    1. Face the darkness
    2. Thwack
    3. Ultimate Weapon
    4. Infectious fright

One addon for longer box searching, one for 20 sec reduced times when a gen pops.
PS. sometimes this build just doesn't work entirely - I take it as a fun build that doesn't really guarantee me a win.

Remember to stealth with crouch - break LOS from the gen you are going to. This guarantees free hits sometimes, even grabs.

Leaving a survivivor in a strong setup might be crucial sometimes.

    Don't chase/tunnel people with traps.

Remember not to be afraid to use her ambush - it got buffed a while ago. Especially with the ambush addons!

  • I hope the rates will be good this year! Especially on p100.

Last year p100 character would get around 150 cakes for 5 mil BP

NON p100 characters were gettign 250 cakes per 5 mil BP

    That's almost twice more!

  • What you are saying is not too accurate really.

Pig has built-in slowdown, which are the bear traps.
You are basically playing 3v1 when someone has trap on, especially if it's active.

On top of that her ambush addons do really great job at looping scenarios.

Pig is in a good spot right now. Make sure to have 1 or 2 chase perks and she really is capable of great things.

Pressure is not free and that's healthy for the game.
Gen rushing builds are not present in every match either. If they are tho, it's rarely more than 1 person and on top of that the person is vulnerable in case of tunneling and chasing.

  • Slugging became so often because people on the internet started saying its most efficient way to play killer.

While it's kinda true with mobile killers… no one enjoys to go against it.

Hopefully something will change in regards to that.

  • I personally don't enjoy talking in dbd and avoid talking survivors, that's just not for me.

Hopefully mute button will be implemented.

  • I'm 35/100p on Wraith. See you soon in the fog, gamers!

  • I wouldn't use hyperfocus + stakeout as a new player.

Lithe + Deja Vu + Kindred + Windows
Lithe + Decisive Strike + Kindred + Windows
    Lithe + Unbreakable + Kindred + Windows
    Lithe + Resurgence + Kindred + Windows

Note for you: players really hate Windows of opportunity, because how easy it is to get value from it.
But don't mind them talking - it's good perk for new player, that's just the fact.
You are not expected to be good at running around the map, knowing where to go etc. There is too many maps in the game.

Those perk builds in my opinion would be the best at the start of the game.

Most of the perks are for free - DS, UB, Windows, Kindred. Resurgence would be amazing too, but you need to spend money.

You can change your build up a little bit with using deja vu, we will make it, Iron Will if you would like to play stealthy, balanced landing for exhaustion (sprint burst is harder to get value with, only good for preruns at the start, but we know new player would hide more than prerun).

  • Deathslinger is my TOP2 most played character. I literally left playing him a year ago, because he is just not great in this state of the game or current meta.

Hitting the shots is not the easiest task on him, there is a lot of line of sight blockers on every map.
Missing the shot is very punishing, because on top of after shot hinder, he gets significantly slower while reloading.

4.4. makes catching up to survivior very hard, you need to walk towards them for a long time to be in a shot's range.

Most of his addons are worthless to use - the only addons that are somewhat useful are two reloads, cigar and iri coin, nothing else is worth usiing really.

  • Your replies kinda make me sad, honestly.
We all love this game and play it, but we still are not able to recommend our game to new players/friends etc.

What I hope we get soon:

    1. Get rid of perk levels
    2. Better in game tutorials
    3. Some way of reading killer perks/addons in game - they only appear if any other survivior get affected by it
    4. Same with perks/items/addons of survivior
    5. Decreasing number of item addons/killer addons/offerings to make it less intimidating for new players
    6. Probably decreasing number of perks even, we only use like 10-20% of available perks anyway
    7. Making the game less grindy overall
    8. Decreasing original character prices or increasing way and amounts of shards we can get

We were not ready for Five night's at Freddy players - hopefully this won't be the case in the near futute releases.

I will be fully honest. These changes are horrible, Jason was already barely scratching lowest bottom of A tier, and then you further nerfed him. In DBD's 2026 meta where survivors are stronger than even S tiers like Nurse or Blight, Jason needed NOTHING BUT BUFFS.

Say that to nurse with 500h I lost against as a 4-man swf with 32k hours combined yesterday. (not possible in different games, btw)

Changes from PTB seem fine and healty. Good work.

To make survivours understand how annoying it is To Face sprint Burst. Its just as annoying for killers as those old meta was for survivours

I don't have the issue personally.

If I see someone running with sprint burst I can be sure that no lithe, smash hit, dead hard, balance landing isn't in use and play around it.

HOT TAKE: Killers who need to slug are bad at pressuring the surviovors.

  • @Feather said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4085479#Comment_4085479

And what is your point in bringing up Dbd from 10 years ago? Just because survivours are not as strong as they used to be, they are still strong.

"You killer mains hated so much" like You mean Old dead hard wasnt broken?

Even players with 10k hours have problems with swfs and broken survivour meta right now, even tho its far more balanced than 2016 dbd when the game just launched, meaning it would be unbalanced.

1 thing we could probably mention is map rng. Sometimes map has way less good loops, and sometimes it Connects Jungle gyms making basically infinite loop. Meaning both sides suffer in some scenarios.

What is skillful about SB+Vigil? This combo only cripples low tier killers, they dont need that.

And i will again for a hundreth time say, killers have braindead perks as well, grim embrace, pain res, dms etc. hell lets throw devour hope and noed into the mix as well

You brought up first old ruin and undying and other boring killer metas.

  • @Feather said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4085205#Comment_4085205

I could probably phrase that title better. Yes, killers have pain res + dms combo which is very annoying, boring and brain dead, even more on high tier killers.

There was a lot of talking about sprint burst lately on forums, thats why i focused on that

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4085253#Comment_4085253

Regarding boost: i have lost of matches were sprint burst is used to avoid engagement. if they avoid engagement, they wont improve, and they show it with their skills. And again, if survivour knows what they do, they will obliterate with this perk.

There is no inbetween: Either survivour is very bad or very good when they use that perk, and they are both annoying even if i win against bad one

Oh, so you just told us that you want to attack sprint burst because people are already talking about it and it's power.
So you're basically trying to kill the perks with all of those killer mains. One by one.

Today's target is sprint burst and vigil, tomorrow we take down the lithe, on the random tuesday we will get shoulder, ds, deliverance!
After all that, if people will start using smash hit you will want it nerfed too, right?

Well, that's not how it should work. There is a lot of perks that fight against exhaustion perks and you can use them.

Game does require a little bit of skill and knowledge from the killer side. You need to be able to adapt to survivior perks, tactics, items - just like you made us get used to tunneling, slugging and camping.

Killer is easiest it has ever been and that's just fact. If you can't keep up, that's on you honestly.

  • So you won the match and still complain?

  • @Feather said:

Reducing haste duration to 2 seconds at least would be something.

But survivours dont see issue and neither does bhvr

For survivours downvoting: imagine we go back to OG ruin+undying, forever freddy or gen kick meta and everyone laughs at you for saying its bad, thats what you are doing

Sprint + Vigil is very unhealthy and punishes lower tier killers

Let's go back to actual infinite loops - windows that don't block, middle vaults were fast vaults, healing meta (I could heal while in chase consistantly with just one pallet being used), BNP that instantly did the gen in a second, old dead hard that you killer mains hated that much.

Playing the game requires experience and skill.
You can't have everything free for you. Exhaustion nerfs would be unjustified.

  • They just let us have the "favorite" maps because of the anni.

I like it - I definitely played more when dead dawg saloon was on the rotation.

  • @Goblin_BHVR said:

Ahh, I understand that you're cynical because past events haven't been your cup of tea, and I don't have any hard feelings. I just hope that with our 10 year anniversary event and/or some of the reveals at our big Montreal party there will be some things that can get you excited again :)

@Goblin_BHVR Can I hop in and ask if p100 anniversary bloodwebs will be granting us cakes at the same rate as non p100 characters?
The differance was huge last year.

Just making sure because if someone doesn't want to make new character we would get much less.

  • How dare surviviors use perks, right?

You can use blood echo, mindbreaker, genetic limits, crows perk (which i forgot the name)

Also every killer has an addon to cause exhaust on surviviors.

You are just not using them and want everything for free.

    1. Times are good, you are just not putting enough pressure on survivors. You are not supposed to stomp people on 5 gens.
    2. That's why you have remote gen breaking and blocking perks. Use them.
    3. Numbers of pallets are good. Some maps are still bad, some are good.
Most of the pallets can be played around easily and never be broke.
    4. Killers aren't exactly nice either. You can force surviviors out, but survivor needs to stay on the ground humped for 4 minutes if thats killer's wish.
  • Killer is easiest it has ever been.

We just need some small number tweeks of worse killers and perk changes.

  • Oh no, hopefully nothing like this happens in the future.

Repairing bloodmoon gens made me want to play something else, luckily I could queue up for a regular game mode - which I did.

When I am on a gen I can atleast watch something on my second monitor, not pay too much attention to the game.

  • @Elan said:

    My wishlist:

    SURVIVORS:

→ add cooldown to every exhaustion perks (sprint, balanced landing, lithe should be 60s… smash hit and drama might be 40s)

→ remove exposed and hindred from Vigil and nerf Vigil value to 20 %

→ cap max healing speed to 150 % for altruistic and 100 % for self healing

→ rework toolboxes (toolboxes are now consumable and will increase the repair speed of the generator to survivor who consumed toolbox on it - standard toolbox 2 %, engineer toolbox 4 %, commodius 6 %… any following perks would be diminished)

→ adjust problematic perks (DS down to 40s, shoulder the burden causing permanent exposed and so on.

    KILLERS:

→ reward hooking - 3 charges added to each remaining gen for every fresh hook

→ buff haste perks when dimishied returns is in the game (7 % for batteries, 10 % for game afoot and so on)

→ Increase all limited-exposed perks durations (Starstruck 60s, Ravenous 90s, Haunted Ground 90s and so on)

→ basekit mechanic that allows killers to move with 15 % haste when out of chase, this would balance gap between low and high mobility killers a bit

→ major buffs to Trapper, Skull Merchant, Ghost Face, Pig, Dredge, Onryo, Freddy, Hag, Leatherface, Legion, Huntress

→ small buffs to Nemesis, Alien, Krasue, Houndmaster, Knight, Myers, Plague, Chucky, Wraith, Deathslinger, Springtrap

→ add ons pass to Wraith, Huntress, Oni, Deathslinger, Doctor, Hag, Skull merchant

You definitely want to have triple queue times, which are now really long anyway.

No one will want to play survivior if the role is nerfed to the ground.

There are different games available and people will move somewhere else if their experience sucks.

  • I asked once a cheater, what is the reason he cheats and he said he just doesn't care about the game and about the bans he is getting, because there is a way to obtain accounts with "xbox method" whatever that means.

So I think that's not always the epic games accounts.

This is just a screenshot from his Video. In 10 years of making a game and gaining experience you would expect the devs to learn to not make such broken perks but nope. Watch the full video for everyone that is interested. https://youtu.be/g72n4rlRDwY?is=bqgGk7-yM_JlDMz0

Nah, watching dbd content creators isn't healthy for us.

  • Oh, I have some.

    1. Kindred should be base-kit to help solo queue.
    2. Killer is easiest it has ever been.
    3. We should be able to ignore some killers from the pool.
I don't want to play against plague because vomiting makes me feel bad. I should be able to ban her from my lobby.
    4. People are too vocal in this community and it's mostly skill issue.
    5. DEVs should listen less to the community.
    6. Anti-tunnel system was good for game's health and should've been implemented.
    7. Content creators are wrong about the balance. They should make funny and entertaining videos instead of balance and doom-posting videos. They put bad influence in community.
    8. Game became a little bit dull after getting rid of fun stuff - flashlight save had to be accurate to be succesfull and it gave much more satisfaction, old dead hard was fun, flashbangs are boring now, stuns on a pallet save are almost impossible now.
    9. Blight hug tech and Wesker techs were fun and shouldn't have been changed.
    10. Game shouldn't benefit bad ping players. They should be punished for it.
    11. Diminishing returns killed funny, niche perk builds.
  • Kaneki is so problematic - we have a killer who is enjoyable to play AS but feels bad to play against.

    Killer POV:
    - Every mobility killer has advantage, he isn't different.
    - Free hits
    - You can do some spider-man stuff, that's fun!
    - Kinda has skill-gap, sling shots, perfecting body blocking

    Survivior POV:
    - Free hits feel bad
    - Mending
    - He can catch-up easily, creates hard time with connecting loops etc
    - He has amazing addons, that are hard to play against. With right addons you can literally have 6 great perks equipped (mask and centipede as bbq and bamboozle), addons pair up with perks very well (mask with DMS)

Overall in my opinion he is much more manageable after the vault-hit and kidnap-tech nerfed… but he isn't yet fun to go against.
Especially if people do give up or DC against him.

  • I mean I wouldn't like the fact that people would have access to most broken things possible forever.

But on the other hand… some killers require certain addons to be decent - Hillbilly for example needs engraving.

Bubba needed double speeds for a long time.

  • Tell all that to 100 hour jimmy who gets immidiately targetted because he is weak link of a group, needs all the help and gets tunneled.

Playing killer is the easiest it has ever been.

I agree to nuke all the 2nd chance perks, but only if survivors get the anti-tunnel system.
Maybe then we would be free from META perks. BUT… I guess we will never know.

  • I spent 2.2m BP yday on wesker and got 1 escape cake.
I wish we could prioritize things we want.

  • I mute my game for kaneki games. It's insufferable to listen to.

  • Game should be free to play with a good anti-cheat.

There is too much characters that you need to pay for to unlock everything in the game.

  • Rize doesn't scream, she laughs.

I mean it’s just lazy not to just rotate your dial or a button no? This is why we have volume controls in everything.

I don't want to change my audio setting for just 1 of 42 or 43 different killers. Especially if they are on a level that works for me.

Also like I mentioned before, I don't want to mute the game for the time period of kaneki's scream, it's just silly.

People can feel unpleasent when they listen to some sounds, that's just how it is.

Can we expect post-diminishing returns perk changes in the near future?

Some kind of big overhaul just like 6.1.0?

  • Last anniversary didn't have anything for surviviors.

    Hopefully this one does.

2 anniversaries in a row would be bad.

Hey folks, let's make sure to keep the conversation civil in here.

Pallet density and distribution is inherently a topic that lends itself to differing opinions per role, so I want to make it very clear that when we bring feedback back to the team, we strive to present both the Killer and Survivor perspectives.

If you're ever feeling concerned or questioning about a specific situation where balance feels off, like in the example of this thread, don't hesitate to flag it with any footage you might have, so it's on our radar. That way, it's also easier for us to keep our eyes out for corroborating evidence.

Pallet density feels good when it comes to survivior gameplay. There is less dead zones compared to before.

When it comes to killer experience, I personally don't feel bad about it.
Only disturbed ward feels overtuned in my opinion.

IMO they should have just not announced it. Then nobody would have waited for it and would have just tuned in whenever they noticed that they were streaming.

And I think it would have had the same positive publicity without the negative parts.

    Totally agree.

  • I wasn't happy about the stream.

I've waited till 3AM (europe time zone) for stream to start.
I watched the stream till 4AM.

I lost the interest in the reveal because of this.

I just wish I was informed that this reveal was "a long form" stream.

  • Nah, ghoul is fine at this point.

He is strong, but not game-breaking-strong.

    He has counterplays now.

in NERF GHOUL Comment by vol4r
  • Alright.

    1. Body block the pallets that's most important one I think. Just stand in a middle of the pallet so he can't block it for you. Make sure to listen to sound que when he turns of his power. Little teeth icon shows up when he is aiming at you with the power.
    2. If Kaneki want's to grab you through vault locations and you are not marked you can stand in front of a vault and get hit by the mark - he won't jump there. It gets you distance when he is locked in the animation and needs to vault after you.
Be careful - this doesn't apply to his first dash.
    3. If you're healed: don't drop pallets and hug everything tight.
    4. If ghoul wants to vault the pallet after you - vault it. Be careful tho, good ghouls might fake the power.
    5. If Ghoul succesfully vaults after you, vault the pallet back.
Careful tho, you can't just stand in place, if you do vaulting will not be available. Probably turning around will work.

Kaneki is very popular, you can assume you will go against him and use build that will increase your chase time a little.
My everyday build is Dead Hard + Resilience + Made For This + Decisive Strike with Med-kit.

Bonus tip: for all the DH + medkit users.
Do 99 heals. When ghoul notice you being unhealed, he will jump and try to m1 you.
You heal when he does that and he uses regular M1.
You will have DH available for your chase.

Note: You can't make a lot of distance when he break the pallet.
Cooldown isn't that long. Keep that in mind.

If you play correctly he feels more like m1 killer really. It's sad that so many people choose to DC against him.

    1. The Survivor is one of the numerous positions where the killer cannot pick them up.

    2. The Survivor has been carried before but due to sabotagibg hooks the killer had to drop them and any attempt to pick them up would result in an instant wiggle free.

    3. The Survivor crawled into a corner and the killer cannot find them in a reasonable amount of time.

    4. Multiple Survivors went down in an area sparse with hooks (for example downstairs Balham) and the killer cannot reach a hook for all of them.

    1. Gamble it. 95% of the time there is no one for save or fail it.
    2. Almost never happens, people do gens.
    3. Mini game - "if I were Jake, where would I be?" - have some fun or let them bleed out because of it.
    4. Didn't happen to me for months now.

    You are covering 0.1% situations.

    I main houndmaster.

I understand that some people will read the first line of this discussion and understand the title. BHVR is not great at showing much love to houndmaster, however, on average today my games have been a grand total of 2-3 minutes long. I rotate my perks and play the game as intended and don't scum. NOTHING is helping. Last month I was iri 1 averaging at least 6/10 4k's

Should I utilising "toxic strats"? Do I bring perks that demolish gen speed?? I can't understand how survivor mains find it fun to cue for three minutes and be done in two?? And they consistently T-Bag at exit despite me (sometimes) not even encountering them once because the game is over in TWO minutes.

    Any advice would be helpful.

    Ty!!

Experience comes with time. Houndmaster is a hard killer to master and have good results with.

Feels like your hidden mmr increased, that's why you might be struggling.

I use mostly gen perks when I play HM - POP, Eruption, Corrupt and Pain Res.
This build mostly gives you time to do all the chases.

When you get some more experience with her I would reccomend pain res + turn back the clock + save the best for last + rapid or sloppy :)

Houndmaster gets a lot of information - when you send the snug people's terror instinct shows if they are in 16m range - this gives some free hits, people aren't aware of this.

Prefiring snug at shack is amazing. Houndmaster can win a lot of chases quickly at shack.

Fake your power - people make mistakes because of it.

Don't use snug on ramps, he gets bugged.

You mostly don't need to break pallets.

If survivior break free from snug they get 10% speed penality for 5 seconds.
You can catch the survivior, break the pallet or kick the gens and hit him immidiately when he breaks free from snug.
I abuse this. Especially good tactic with save the best + rapid.

If survivior camps the pallet, just send snug and break the pallet. Survivior gets 10% speed penality even if he breaks free from snug by the pallet stun.

    Good luck with your games.

I wouldn't be surprised if 2v8 were played mostly by the tourists which don't really use forums.

I personally don't play the game much when 2v8 is out because killer queue times are long and I don't find 2v8 more enjoyable than 1v4.
